Mission BBQ is a very good option when you're in town! Everything was delicious and smoked to perfection. I tried the ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. I personally like my meat cuts very moist, so I had to  add one of their many sauce choices. I also tried some sides, and the mac and cheese was one of the best I've ever had. The cornbread definitely stole the show on my plate, so moist, buttery, and full of corn flavor. The staff was very nice, took the time to explain the menu, and carefully prepared my food to go. Typically a decent meal for the price - but not today. I order the 1/2 chicken. There was something wrong with the meat - decide not to eat a 2nd bite. Normally there is some level of firmness to the meat, that makes it cut able. Today it was all very mushy almost like mash potatoes - no firmness and almost paste like. My wife and I stopped in for lunch on Sunday, 05/03/2026, with 2 of our adult grandchildren , and we enjoyed one of the best meals of our lives. Tricia was our hostess, and her treatment of all 4 of us was phenomenally amazing. She treated us like family, and like we were the only customers in the crowded restaurant. Just popped in for a late lunch and was blown away by the food and ambiance. From walking in and being greeted, to the easy order process with smiling attendants this was a great experience. I had the pulled pork with baked cheesy potatoes and water from the fountain (for free) and my wife had the brisket with fries and a soda (total bill $35). Everything was delicious and fresh, especially the fries. Can't wait to come back and try the ribs! Sorry no pics as the food looked sooooo good & we were hungry, maybe next time? It's unusual to find a restaurant that excels at food, service, and ambience. Mission BBQ is just that. We grabbed lunch here on a busy day, and it hit the spot. Honestly, one of the better food experiences I've had. The food truly did look like the pictures online, which nowadays is a big deal, and the staff was cheerful. Especially a lady named Trisha that went around clearing tables and ensuring that everyone had everything they needed to have a great meal. Have you ever eaten something that makes you stop talking? That was me halfway through the entrée. Absolutely delicious. This location felt perfect. Delicious food, staff who appear to enjoy their jobs, and a clean environment. Pretty awesome for a quicker BBQ place! The brisket was delicious, Mac and cheese was pretty good and the BBQ beans were awesome! We also enjoyed the jalapeño cheese sausage. The only negatives to our meal was the pulled pork tasting like it came straight out of a preheat bag, not sure if that's really the case but it was dull and bland, tough and it just wasn't good. The coleslaw also had like absolutely zero flavor but other than that, the other stuff was very good and we would return for the brisket and BBQ beans again! It is disappointing they don't have any sort of toast to go with their meals or even to buy on the side, the cornbread was really dry and some of our group got really nice big thick slices of it and others of us got these super small overly crunchy corner pieces. read more

Mission BBQ Cape Coral: Stopped by Mission BBQ today for the special they were running for all Veterans. This includes a free sandwich for any Veteran that served which my wife is but I am not. First off let me say I have maximum respect for all Veterans male and female. Thank you for your service. We got there right after they opened at 11 and the place was still empty. We walked up to the order counter and ordered my wife's sandwich, a pulled pork with coleslaw on top and I ordered the 1/2-yard bird which is 1/2 of chicken. Now I know they don't specialize in chicken as they do with beef or pork, but they have it on the menu and I thought I would try it. She ordered french fries and I ordered smash potatoes which were mashed for our sides. Our order was up quickly and when we sat to eat everything was there as it should be. Her pulled pork was hot and tasty and the french fry's we good. My 1/2 chicken did not look good as you can see by the pictures but once I cut into a leg it was very juicy. This chicken just fell apart and I pulled most of the bones right out of it. It was not dry as chicken can become, it was juicy. The rub used on the outside was a little spicy with some kick to it. I just could not get into the skin with that type of rub on it. I guess it's a matter of personal preference, but I would have preferred a BBQ type of rub. I believe it would have tasted better and looked a whole lot more pleasing. My side of smash potatoes was cold. I took them back to see what they would do. One of the employees immediately said to another to put a thermometer in the potatoes that were in the bin they served them from. I believe they scooped my potatoes out of the top without stirring them. It's just a rookie mistake as they just opened for the day. They checked them with a thermometer and stirred them then gave me another side of them and they were hot. Remember it's always the little things that separate good restaurants from great restaurants. I did have a piece of Jiffy bread that came with my meal, but it was very dry and did not seem fresh. I used a lot of soda to wash that down. All in all, it was not a bad experience but with a little effort it could have been better for a chain restaurant. This was our first visit to the Cape Coral location. We've visited Mission BBQ in Ft. Myers and other places, so were already looking forward to some of our favorite things. We remain impressed with the positive energy from the staff, the super clean dining area, the message and mission of the restaurant and very good food that is budget friendly. Their Mission, to serve great BBQ while reminding everyone what makes our country great, it's heroes, always strikes a positive chord. Kudos to Mission BBQ for honoring our soldiers, firefighters, police officers and first responders. The Cape Coral location has a large ice cooler/tub with bottles of classic drinks that caught my attention right away. They also have fountain drinks like other locations. We both choose a bottle of root beer along with a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans and cornbread. The pulled pork was piled high and tasted great and the cornbread never disappoints. Great bbq place with very tasty food and great wait staff. We did take out and also ate in house. While eating in the restaurant they brought over some of their dishes to sample. When we tried to purchase one of their desserts after ordering and eating our meal, they would not let us pay. On the house. Love also their support of law enforcement and first responders. Walls are covered with memorabilia and patches from different agencies. While there, they were offering special drink cups and the proceeds went to first responders. Location is a cafeteria style ordering type of thing. You place your order sit yourself and wait for your name to be called to get the food tray. We tried the pulled pork, brisket and half rack of baby back ribs. We added mac and cheese and fries as sides. The pulled pork and the brisket were both on point. Juicy and full Of flavor. I went out for a quick dinner the other night and remembered that Mission BBQ has a fairly new location just down Pine Island Rd. When I walked in I was greeted by the staff at the register. I ordered the brisket with coleslaw and an ice tea. I only had to wait about five minutes for my name to be called to pickup my delicious dinner. The brisket had great smoky flavor. It was tender and juicy. There are six different sauces on the table to accompany the meat. The coleslaw was also great. Staff members were walking around giving out samples of the pulled chicken and turkey to customers. Drink refills were also offered. Overall fantastic service. You really can't go wrong with anything at Mission BBQ! The brisket is amazing, as is the pulled pork (get it NC style with cole slaw!) and the turkey. The worker in the dining room did an excellent job keeping our table clean and even brought us a little extra treat at the end of our meal. We have never heard of this restaurant, not being from the area. We were impressed with the selections we made. I had a chopped brisket sandwich with a side of bbq beans and hubby got pulled chicken sandwich with a side of fries. Also came with a drink ( we opted for unsweetened ice tea ) that you pour yourself at the drink station. It was a bit confusing finding straws and lids in the snap-on tool chest! The chopped brisket came already sauced, the chicken didn't but hubby said it was well seasoned. There were bottles of sauce on the table. The restaurant has a first responders/ 9-11 theme to it with 9-11 memorabilia on the walls. Definitely made you think back and appreciate all they had done during those dark days. Apparently they all stand up at 12:00 pm. We were not there for that, but just putting it out there. I chatted with a woman working there who is actually from Florida! ( first one ! ) She was kind enough to give us a complimentary dessert and two coupons for free sandwiches. Hubby passed the coupons on to a man that looked like he would appreciate them.
