Texas Roadhouse still puts out good food, but I've got some notes. The Caesar salad is great. The loaded baked potato is always on point. The bartender is nice. These are the things that keep us coming back. But the sirloin? The quality seems to have declined. And this location always overcooks the steak. Always. When you order a medium, you expect a medium, not something closer to well done. It's frustrating because the sides are dialed in and the service is solid, but the steak is supposed to be the main event. Still a reliable spot for a decent meal, and you can't beat the value compared to other steakhouses. Just maybe consider ordering your steak a step under what you actually want. The Verdict: Texas Roadhouse delivers on the sides and service, but the sirloin quality has slipped and this location struggles to nail the steak temp. I'm in Fort Myers for business and tonight we went for steaks at the Texas Roadhouse. I ordered the prime rib with fries and macaroni and cheese, my boss ordered the filet and it was delicious. The meat came out at the right temperature, they were both cooked to perfection, medium rare. What I particularly liked was the Mac and cheese, tasty and creamy. Our server Courtney was amazing, she was friendly, efficient and professional, she came more than a few times to ask us if we needed anything. She's a great addition to their team. Came in for a Saturday lunch with my husband and two kids. We checked in online and were seated quickly after arriving. Our server Alex was very friendly, quick and attentive. He was nice with our kids, kids food and appetizer came out quickly. The cactus blossom app was delicious and very well seasoned. Loved the sauce it came with. Our entrees came soon after and wow it was a lot of food! The ribs are described as fall-off-the-bone and that it surely did! The ribs were flavorful and tender. Honestly, we were a little hesitant walking in, but the place was jam-packed, which is always a good sign. The bread and sweet butter was also a hit. So far so good. My son ordered a plain burger with fries, and my wife went with chicken fingers and a loaded baked sweet potato, while I ordered the ribs with mac and cheese. When I tell you the ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, I mean it. Perfect amount of barbecue sauce, flavorful, and just the right consistency. The mac and cheese was on point. My son enjoyed his burger and fries, and my wife absolutely loved her loaded sweet potato - she couldn't stop talking about it. Service-wise, Chloe was top-notch. Erica, the bartender, had a friendly bubbly personality exuding a healthy portion of souther hospitality. She was quick, prompt taking orders and taking care of cocktails . I opted out for their $5 blue moon beer and $5 Long Island iced tea specials, pulled pork entree $16.99 w a sidekick of bbq ribs for $9.99. The entree came w 2 sides - I went w cup of chili (delicious ) and a Ceasar salad, which came first as apps. Pulled pork was tender and juicy, ribs were on point and not drenched in sauce so I could still taste the meat. Texas Roadhouse Stopped by on a Wednesday about 5ish. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was busy but not packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the 20oz Boned in Ribeye med well with Onions and Mushrooms. Sides were a Salad and Mashed Potatoes with Gravy. Wife ordered the 8oz Filet Mignon med with a Sweet Baked Potato and Sald. Our table had peanuts in a sealed bag and of course they brought us some fresh Baked Rolls to start with. Our Salads came out fast and we loved them. Everything was fresh and we love that the Salad and plate was cold. Our main orders came out shortly afterwards and all looks good but the Mushrooms on top of both our Steaks were burnt. We pushed them off and continued to eat the rest of our meal. Our Steaks were done perfect and tasted great. The Mashed Potatoes were good as was the Sweet Potato. All in all we enjoyed our meals. We try to come to Texas Roadhouse monthly. It's right up the street from our volunteer gig and always a nice treat! I'll start with the STAFF. Always attentive, friendly, and helpful. They have a lot of employees who clearly help the restaurant run like a well oiled machine! We've been visiting this location for years and every single time a manager has swung by to introduce themselves and ask if there's anything we need. WOW!!! Love it when management is hands on and in the trenches with front line employees!!! The FOOD has never disappointed us! We have tried so many different things on the menu, we are hard pressed to pick a favorite because it's all so good!! They have a dish called Roadkill (hahaha) which is a chopped steak with tons of fixins that is so delish (if you can find the humor in the name!). You can get free peanuts in the shell and/or warm rolls with a cinnamon butter....are you drooling yet?! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The AMBIENCE is a mixed bag. The restaurant is a bit dark and feels like a lodge.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The employees will all line up and do a dance every hour which we find cute but we have some friends that don't care for it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their PRICES are reasonable, especially since their serving sizes are quite generous and we usually have leftovers. During the week they have several of their dinner favorites on special for a few dollars less than the usual price. The only negatives I would bring up are that they don't have WiFi and seem to be in a WiFi void zone and they no longer have Shiner Bock on tap (this is really my husband's peeve, not mine lol). It wasn't cooked properly because it was very chewy; moreover, I was served the end piece with lots more crust, fat and connective tissue that one might normally expect in that type of premium cut. This is a shock given we frequent this restaurant and I love the food. Brought my family in after a celebration and they were met with poor taste in service and attitude. Everybody loves Texas roadhouse for their cinnamon butter and rolls. However, this location is so busy that coming here on any night for dinner is a nightmare. I highly recommend checking in online, and making sure that your entire party is there on time, or else you will not be seated even if your table is ready. It's like a maze getting through the crowd of people waiting by the front desk. As for the service, the employees are really doing their best despite being so busy. we were checked on enough times to have a good experience. However, it did take a while for the food to come out, which is expected considering the crowds. Had lunch today with two couples after church. The service was better than average, Thalia did a great job. Two folks who ordered steak, the steak was under done. One requested a more cooked one. The rib appetizer was good and the onion ring appetizer was quite good. Our total party was 8 in number. The side salads were very tasty. Overall a great choice. This Texas Roadhouse is always packed after 5 PM! We got in here 4:30 PM for an early dinner. Amazing, there are still open parking space and open tables available. We ordered our standard fares at Texas Roadhouse, petite sirloin and prime ribs. Instead of Margarita we have Corona beer. Our house salads are fresh and Texas Red Chili with Cheddar cheese and red onions are filling. Today, they have an off day. No bread and sour cream for baked potato! However, a bag of peanuts makes me forget about the bread and sour cream! The sirloin steak is cooked perfectly and the right cut of prime ribs was served medium rare! Hostess was rude from the beginning, refused to give us a sling to put a baby carrier in so we had to put our newborn carrier in the booth with us. Server never gave us any refills and blatantly ignored us while we were trying to get her attention to ask for refills, HAIR in the appetizer and when we brought it to the servers attention she acted as if we were inconveniencing her. Terrible Service Despite Great Food We reserved a table with a high chair at Texas Roadhouse and arrived promptly at 6:01. After being seated, we had to ask 11 different times to 5 different staff members (3 servers and 2 busboys) for the high chair we had requested in our reservation . We received our drinks, food, and everything else before anyone could get us a high chair--for our baby. We waited a total of 53 minutes for it, which is just unacceptable. To make matters worse, our waitress was completely inattentive, never checking on us until well into our meal, and even then, she came over with a huge armful of filthy dishes.
