One of my go to places for BBQ. I am so glad theres a location here, I go to the one in Florida all the time. Inside was spacious, friendly stuff, service was good. You can order online or in person. They show you your order before they pack it to make sure everything is right. I ordered the 2 meat platter with Mac and cheese and sweet potato (seasonal) and it comes with corn bread and a drink. I got the beef brisket (moist) and pulled pork. The meat was juicy and not dry super flavorful! My go to dipping sauce has to be the Smokey mountain bbq sauce, it's like sweet and tangy. My fiancé ordered his meal off the menu wrong, when they called our name for our order they saw his face and immediately jumped into action to fix it. Went with my family today and it was amazing!they have the best lemonade I have ever had it's called summer time lemonade. I got the burger which is massive and it's the first time where I felt like I underpaid for my meal. The burger was thicker than a hockey puck. It may not be Texas, but it's the closest thing in Colorado for the homesick. Fantastic BBQ in a pro-freedom atmosphere that makes the food taste even better. Great BBQ here! We ordered the platter with 3 meats. Went with the salmon, 1/2 chicken, and brisket. For sides, we went with the bbq beans and fries. For dessert we got the cobbler. I love this military/first responder themed BBQ restaurant. I was surprised despite how pro military they were, they didn't offer any sort of discount. They however redirected me to sign up for their online program which emailed you a free sandwich after a few business days which was a nice touch. The ordering was fast and easy. Service was friendly and the food tasted great. The brisket was my favorite and I wish their portions were a little bigger for what you're paying. Corn bread was moist and the greens were tasty. I eventually came back after they emailed me for a free sandwich and they honored the coupon which was nice to see. Asked for a cup for water and was charged for an XL meal deal. My fault for not checking my receipt, but $34 for two was a bit much. I thought my brisket sandwich was the best offering out of everything. The meat was tender and the sauce was very tasty. The mac and cheese was a bit dry to me and seemed to lack some flavor. My wife's order to me was very salty. The pulled chicken had a tougher bark/skin with a lot of salt seasoning. Her French fries while fresh cut seemed also to be a bit on the saltier side as well. My mom, daughter and I went for dinner tonight. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese, fries and banana pudding. Everything was excellent. The place itself is super cool, honoring our military. But what made it really push it over was the service. The cashier, I believe his name was Ethan was SO kind and then throughout our dinner we watched as the manager took every single trash out, was high fiving employees, just being incredible. Went in for lunch on a Saturday. The place was considerably busy for only just opening. The cashier was very friendly and explained the menu to us. Basically they have certain meats available by the pound. There's special deals to get 2 or 3 meats, but everything on the menu is ala carte. We ordered the pulled pork and smoked cheeseburger. We also ordered baked beans, coleslaw, and cheesy potatoes as our sides. The pulled pork was tender, flavorful, and had a nice smokey flavor. The cheeseburger didn't have much of a smokey flavor and only tasted ok. Nothing to write home about. The cornbread that came with our meals was a little dry and too overcooked on the bottom. The cheesy potatoes were good. I really wished they had potato salad on the menu instead. The coleslaw was ok, a little bland and underdressed. The baked beans tasted good and went well with the burger. The sauce selection on the table was pretty good. I enjoyed the Memphis Belle, Tupelo Honey Heat, and St. Louis Red. All the sauces had their own sweetness and spice. Honestly, it was so bizarre to have to stand up at attention in the middle of eating lunch to sing to the national anthem. It's incredibly off putting, especially with everyone's judging glares at you if you don't sing or have your hand on your heart. The food is mediocre at best and the cherry on top is the awkward national anthem mid dining experience. So, if that's not your cup of tea, best to avoid this place altogether. There's better BBQ places in town that don't make you pledge your allegiance to the United States in the middle of your meal. read more

They have a military and first responder theme which is perfect for the Colorado Springs community. Staff is always friendly and helpful. They'll come around and help bus your table, which is unique for a restaurant like this. It's a classy touch. I've been here countless times. However, on our visit 06/08/25 the portions seemed noticeably smaller than usual. Like half the fries I'm accustomed too and the meat servings were small too. Sally was an absolute doll! I am not certain what her position is here, but she really went way above and beyond to ensure we had a five star experience. Food: The Mac-n-Cheese was pretty tasty; that's about the only positive thing I have to say. The portions were abysmal for the price. The sampler with no sides is $22, and comes with a small serving pictured below. To add a SINGLE side and a fountain drink is $6! The brisket was incredibly dry, and not at all tender; its flavor wasn't barbecue, or smoky, it was just straight up salt. The chicken was similar. The sausage was so dry and tough that my friend broke his plastic knife trying to cut through it. The menagerie of sauces at the tables are all relatively flavorless, and they soak mostly into the paper basket instead of the meat. The cornbread was undercooked and dense. This is genuinely the only barbecue place whose food is so bad that I wouldn't spend money on it; and I've been to Dickies. Service: The service was pleasant and fast. Food came out quickly and was accurate to order. Ambience: It's like a sports bar made out of galvanized steel hardware. Clean, comfortable, generic. Not particularly tasteful or ugly; just a very casual environment. The food really was a disappointment. Neither my friend nor I enjoyed it, and neither of us thought it was anywhere close to worth the money. I would not recommend Mission Barbecue. read more

Well, we have now tried Mission BBQ twice and the first time I would have given it 5 stars! It was awesome. We arrived at 11:30 AM with a huge lunch crowd. Our meat was a large portion that was hot and juicy and the sides were perfect (brisket sandwich, green beans with pork, coleslaw, turkey sandwich and fries). Plus, 6 choices of sauce and more if you're looking for something with a bit more heat. Being from the South, I thought "now, this is the real deal!" Even after paying $50 for two (rather expensive), I was excited to return. And, we did; however.... it was the typical second try in the Springs. Arrived this time around 2:30 PM and our meat was dry and lukewarm. Was it the time of day, between lunch and dinner rush??? To be honest with you, if I did not eat my sandwich Louisiana-style (with top bun removed and covering the meat with coleslaw and sauce), I would have asked for a replacement. The meat was not juicy (FATTY), in fact, I'm sure I was given a lean cut. Hubs was also lukewarm and lean. Portions were also smaller on a cold bun. Not what we ordered or expected. Sides were fine, but for $50 I expect perfection and this was not it. We will give it one more try, as I am looking forward to checking out a rib plate, but sure hope it brings me back to that 5-star experience. If not, we will add Mission BBQ to our list of dining disappointments in the Springs (not known for great food in the first place). UGH... read more

I was on a Mission for Mission. I have fond memories of Mission Bbq from back east. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! Ahhh the wonderful aroma that fills the air and hits you the moment you walk through the door is amazing. We arrived about 1145 and the place was packed. Not a surprise at all from the memories I have. The line to the counter was long but moved quickly. At high noon all things stop and we stand for the National Anthem.
