I'd hate to give 3 stars because when my family goes in there to see LaLa and eat I could give this place 10000000 stars she's amazing. But sadly since it's takeout only we decided to call ahead for order pick up. The young girl who took my order was SO RUDE I told my husband to pick up the food, because I would have given her a piece of my mind. Besides the fact when my husband picked up the food from said girl she was SO RUDE to him as well. We did nothing? Ordered box lunches for my kids birthday and the whole process was incredibly easy. J ordered in store, provided my card, and the order was delivered on Saturday morning 10:30 am, which is well before their store opens. I feel grateful they were able to accommodate our brunch time and will definitely order again. The lunch box was very generous, which is nice because the kids love their Mac and cheese. My husband, son, and I ordered from Mission Barbecue. Everything was delicious!! So, we ordered again today (3/5/23). Unfortunately, something went terribly wrong. Thank goodness, Alejandro, the manager, fixed the problem with several options for us. Alejandro was determined to help us and demonstrated compassion by taking the extra steps. I've been to the Mission BBQ and Chantilly twice and both times I was really disappointed. The BBQ at that location was dried out and just wasn't that impressive. When I saw this Mission was opening up where the Red, Hot, & Blue use to be I was a bit skeptical. I'm happy to say after going to this location a few times it is substantially better than the Chantilly location, at least at lunch time. I think part of the issue with Chantilly could be the volume of customers is just not as high as Herndon. The Herndon lunch crowd is out the door so the food always tastes very fresh. I've tried the brisket, pulled chicken, sausage, and turkey and they are all very good. The sides are great and I really like the cornbread. Just be prepared it is very busy at lunch time so expect to wait in line and for a table. Overall, pretty happy Mission replaced the stale R,H, & B that was here before. read more

My husband turned me into a fan As somebody who is not a big fan of barbecue, This place has blown it out of the water. Wonderful customer service polite employees the food is always cooked perfection. We are willing to drive from Ashburn to Herndon to come pick it up curd side, especially during the quarantine. We tried another barbecue place right down the street from our house and it was a big failure, we couldn't even eat it.That same night we decided Mission is our go to place. The meat is super tender, the food is always hot and cooked to perfection. This place exceeded my expectations so much so that we come back once a weak. Tonight is my first time trying the Herndon location this evening for takeout. I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich. I've had the pulled pork sandwich and I really like it. I wanted to try something different. Chicken, it was. I was a bit disappointed. The sandwich was cold. A bit more chopped than pulled. I also wasn't crazy about all the seasoning on the chicken. I would have popped my sandwich in the microwave for a few seconds if I'd realized the entire thing was cold. Bun would be better if it was toasted. I also remember liking the mac & cheese at Sterling. This mac & cheese at Herndon seemed so different. It looks cheesy. Didn't taste very cheesy. It was also a little spicy for me. Maybe they changed the recipe? Or maybe someone isn't following the recipe? I also ordered banana pudding for dessert, but I haven't eaten that yet. I'm about to! ** Banana pudding was pretty good. (Not as good as mine! ) Would be a lot better with just 2 or 3 more banana slices in it. It's a small serving and there isn't much room for stuff. I'd gladly sacrifice a little whipped cream and cookie crumbs for - couple slices of banana. I'll eat this again! The best part of the meal that I did eat was the Memphis Belle sauce! Yum yum. Nice and sweet. I need to buy a bottle sometime (if they're selling bottles for curbside pickup). The only reason they're getting a 3 is because of the sauce. It helped pull it up a little. I always wanted to visit this restaurant which I did today. ambience is cool. but seriously I had bad experience the whole hall was deserted. and I made an order of pulled chicken sandwhich & fries they just put MEAT and FRIES, that's it, I was shocked.. The BBQ I have in Northern Virginia. Im from Memphis. They support the military. There is veteran parking out front. They play the national anthem everyday at noon. 9/11 they are doing a tribute. Live national anthem, police firefighters, etc will be at the sterling location read more

Delicious BBQ and sides, and exceptional customer service! We tried the ribs, brisket, pork and chicken all cooked perfectly! And they have an option for lean brisket which my husband loved. The staff is courteous and really make you feel at home! I convinced my husband to get collard greens instead of a pudding they offered and at the end of the meal they brought us a complimentary pudding- so nice and unexpected! And of course the pudding was absolutely delicious! We will definitely become regulars here. Bring cash if you want to leave a tip! read more
