Value (A-) It is around $10-$15 a person and maybe up to $20 a person if you get something to drink and multiple sides. I think it is slightly expensive for certain items but overall it is fine. If you sign up for there birthday club you get a free sandwich when you sign up and again on your birthday. Service (A+) This is the secret sauce. They are super super nice and friendly and provide a high level of customer service. I think they do an excellent job hiring staff and training them. Thursday @ 6:15 pm. Stepped right up to the counter to place our order. Ordered two lean brisket sandwiches (options were lean or moist), and fries. Our order was ready in less than five minutes. The brisket is served on a cold dense burger bun. We both took the bun off, and ate just the meat. The buns were yucky. The brisket was very lean (as ordered), but also very very dry. Thankfully there are numerous options of sauces on the tables. We both used a lot of sauce because the meat was so dry. The fries were hand cut and very good, but super super super salty. The pork was delicious- very tender and had a great flavor. The chicken was overly shredded so it ended up being a mushy texture. I am always looking for good BBQ, and this did not disappoint! I tried a few different thing and EVERYTHING was delicious! The brisket is AMAZING! Ribs were good, but a bit on the dry side. The jalapeño cheddar sausage were perfect, and the black plate that time was the prime rib, and it was perfect for me (if you like your prime rib medium - raw, then don't bother). For sides, I had their Mac and Cheese (worth every calories), the baked beans (were ok, but a bit too sweet for me), cornbread was good, and their cheesy potatoes were delicious but very rich. Gosh darnit this place was delicious. I called the other day on my drive home knowing I've never stepped foot in that place ever BUT I heard it was pretty damn good and I was huuungry. In another Yelp here, I sing some praise for the takeout Q we had from a different Mission BBQ store. Now THIS one... Meh! I've previously Yelp'd I have been having tsuris with BBQ of late. Too much grease, too much smoke, Ecch! Thought this store might play the same way as the other one, but it kind of missed the mark. OK, it wasn't even in the same time-zone as "the mark". I mentioned the less-than-apt staff at the other store, and either those folks were transferred here, or less-than-happy service is de rigueur at Mission BBQ. Don't know what the "behind-the-counter" scene is, but these folks did not look or sound enthusiastic at all. I actually wasn't in the mood for Q, but Wife had a bad day and she had the craving. I was momentarily brightened when I saw a "smoked Prime Rib" special. The photo on the register looked succulent and yummy. What I got was a pie-shaped (like a scalene triangle) meager slice of beef, paper thin at one end and about 3/4" on the other. Maybe 5 ounces tops. Uh-Oh. The flags ran up the pole red when I saw plastic forks and knives at hand to do battle with this morsel served on a plastic plate This might have been from the rib of some unfortunate beast, but it sure wasn't PRIME. It was tough and hard to cut. Practically tasteless. There was a small container half-full of au jus, but it didn't help. Wife had baby backs. They were VERY fatty, but worse, whoever trimmed these slabs did a very poor job as there were bone fragments throughout the cut. I've NEVER seen Baby Backs with these added appendages, EVER! This was a really poor excuse for BBQ. Every bite had little bone splinters. How did these errant cuts get to the line? A seasoned BBQ house manager would have rejected these the moment they arrived-which tells me either there was no inspection of the meats on their arrival, or the person who accepted the shipment didn't know their ass from from their elbow. The manager visited the table and we told her the truth. She sent out a slab of St. Louis Spares to compensate, but by that time, we were off our feed. It wasn't a total disaster--the side dishes (greens, cole slaw-it said "COLD" slaw on the menu-and Mac & Cheese) were actually pretty tasty-but we didn't come here for veggies and Mac & Cheese. The throw of the Diet Pepsi was good, and the best thing I had all night was the Arnold Palmer I made from the unsweetened Ice Tea and Lemonade. It's a corporate store, and it made me believe that thing I've been saying more and more, the accountants have been making the menus rather than Chefs. Ug. There are a lot of places on Rt.59 to eat. All your favorite meat choices are there: brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, sausage, with many sauce options (I like Memphis Belle and Texas Twang). I like the side dish choices less, though the baked cheesy potatoes were a good option. Because of covid, it's currently takeout and curbside pickup. Today was my first experience at MISSION BBQ. I was pleasantly impressed with the food and service. The ambiance was great from the greetings as we entered until we left. The manager even checked on the guests before we finished our meal. The staff was warm and patient as we pondered over the many menu choices. They even let us sample the moist vs lean brisket. They were both delicious! We ordered 14 bones of ribs, the 3-meat sampler, green beans and fries. The fries were so good that our party of 5 ordered an additional 2 orders. The moist brisket was amazing as was the pulled chicken and the turkey. My favorite sauce was the Sweet Chicago but my family members created their own sauces by combining them. My husband was wanting BBQ for dinner and not interested in the places we've tried. I suggested Mission BBQ, as I had them back in Quantico, VA and it was great. We ordered takeout over the phone. Knowing they're military friendly, asked about a military discount and they said no (in VA they did). He picked up the food and the manager asked if it was my husband that served and he shared that it was myself who did. Great customer service and kind enough to add a couple things to our order on the house. We enjoyed it at home, definitely how I remembered it and my husband really liked it too. Unbelievably good service. Over the top friendly and informative. Cashier was patient and nice - made suggestions that felt genuine and not like upselling. Guy who gave us the food was super helpful - explaining the sauces and the whole process. Sample lady came around and chatted - and even brought us brownies because it was our first visit. Unfortunately, I just thought the bbq wasn't that good. Pulled pork, smoked turkey, and ribs were all kind of dry. Could have been a bad day, but all three meats we tried? Beans were okay. Mac and cheese was good. Jalapeño sausage was fantastic. Brownies were amazing. Now for the hard part... A word on the decor and the theme. It is all decked out in America/first responder/military stuff - think of the chaotic decoration of a 1990s TGI Fridays if it had a baby with a Mike Pence fever dream. I'm all for honoring heroes, but it's a bit over the top in the "yay America" department for me, and it just feels like an odd business decision in these divisive times to go the full out patriotism (bordering on feeling like nationalism thanks to the daily singing of the Star Spangled Banner and standing at attention at high noon) route when you know it will immediately alienate half the potential clientele. Maybe they don't want the other half of the population in their restaurant in the first place, but no matter if you voted red or blue, the money is still green... so it just feels... forced and pandering to one particular crowd to convince them this is their place, not a place for those others... and that's just not the right kind of Yay America for me. I'm more of a give me your huddled masses yearning to be free type of American. It's cool, I suppose, that they lay it all out there and wear who they are on their sleeves - just saying some people won't eat there because of that - so it just feels weird to me to bring politics into your bbq. Of course, that would all be moot if the food was fantastic- but it's just meh, and there are better bbq places in the area that don't make me feel like they're trying to indoctrinate me. If you're liberal - you'll probably feel more comfortable elsewhere, and there's certainly better bbq nearby. If you're a conservative - you'll probably love the decor, and maybe that will be enough for you to want to pay big money for mediocre bbq. Up to you. read more

I have driven past this place for the last month on my way to work and have wanted to try it. I don't know why I waited so long! The food was great (pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches, Mac n cheese, green beans, banana pudding, brownie) the service was super, kind employees and very clean establishment! The best part about this place are the wonderful workers. They were friendly and helpful. Although I have had better BBQ, this was still very good. I have eaten at Mission many times in different parts of the country. Todays experience did not live up to what I have been accustomed to. I unfortunately took this order to go so I could not address with staff. I ate my food about 5 minutes after leaving restaurant. The good... Staff was friendly and offered recommendations. The cheesy potatoes were pretty good. I would give 5 stars for service. The bad.... The meats were awful. I went in before noon and you could tell all the meats were leftovers from yesterday. The brisket was dry. The turkey was dry. The pork tasted like it was reheated too long. Shreds of pork were dry and pieces were crunchy. I may give them another chance but not sure.
