I came here once to clean a few coats and a bag. The owner accidentally overcharged me and I was nervous about needing to argue or prove the overcharge when I went to pick up my items. I was pleasantly surprised that she caught it herself and was very gracious about returning the money. She even didn't collect the money for the bag cleaning until she could verify that her cleaner (she outsources cleaning leather items) would clean it. Avoid at all costs. This place uses black sharpie markers to write your name on your shirt, and if the fabric is too dark they write it on paper and staple it onto the shirt. Further, on various items it doesn't appear that anything more than a nice ironing was done. read more

This review is based on the pricing of sewing & alterations ONLY. I was quoted $120.00 for a bridesmaid dress that all of my girlfriends were quoted $40-$50 for. This is because Mission Cleaner works with an independent contractor who does the altering and sewing and then adds their fees on top of it, resulting in an inflated bill. I know this because the tailor told me she can give me a $10.00 discount on her fees but she wasn't sure about Mission Cleaner's portion. If I didn't know how much my girlfriends got their dress altered for, I might have just paid it (maybe). I quickly turned them down and went to The Tailor Shop on Atlantic and was quoted $40.00. That is a HUGE difference from $120.00! To be fair to Mission Cleaners, I guess my dress was more complicated than the regular tailor job because it had several layers and a train, but still! My advice: for alterations on a more complicated dress go to a tailor shop who has in-house employees to avoid an inflated bill. I gave Mission Cleaners an extra star because at least they were nice. read more

I found this place through Yelp and actually always passed by it. I needed a dress tailored just for the length and I got a dress that wasn't expensive and didn't want to have to spend more on tailoring than I did on the dress, so I tried this place due to the reviews on pricing and timing. I wanted to go in on a Saturday and I saw on Yelp that you should call ahead to make sure the tailor is actually in, which was super helpful. I called around when they opened and the lady told me that she hopes and thinks that the tailor should be in because she had an appointment around 12 pm. I asked if I needed to schedule an appointment and she said no, I can just come in. When I got there, the tailor was working with the girl that made the appointment (she had a lot to tailor) and I had to just wait maybe around 45 minutes to be helped because there was also someone waiting in front of me. The tailor is pretty efficient as she tries to multi-task by when one customer is changing then she'll have the next person get measured and then when the other person comes out she'll go back to that person.. I'm not the most patient person, but it wasn't that bad. The only thing about her "efficiency" was she gave off the vibe that she just wanted to be done so she can leave. For example, after I was almost done, people were waiting and she would rush them by saying, "hurry hurry, okay come on come on, let's go let's go." Nonetheless, I went in on a Saturday and it was done by Wednesday. Super quick turn around! You don't need to prepay, so you'd pay when you pick up your items. The only thing about that was that I didn't get to try it on to make sure everything was okay, but everything was done great and the quality was pretty good. My charge for trimming the length of my dress (no lining) and taking in the strap length came out to $44.00 with the 10% off discount (can be found on their website) and $1 off discount via checking in on Yelp. All in all, I would definitely recommend and would return. Also, the lady who runs the dry cleaning side/front desk is super friendly. There's a good amount of parking and I don't think it'd be a problem finding parking on the lot, especially because they're pretty quick with their service. read more

I've been coming to Mission Cleaners for awhile now to get my white coats cleaned. They can get very dirty at times, ick, I don't even want to think about it. Mission Cleaners is always my go-to because they provide very nice service. Susana is always so pleasant/friendly, and extremely nice. They have a $15 minimum credit card policy and one time I didn't have cash even though my bill was less than $15, so she told me to just pay it next time. White coats are $6.25. $1 off with yelp check in! Prices are reasonable and your garments are usually ready in 2 days. A few times I have noticed that some of the stains on my sleeves were missed or overlooked. I've had to bring it back but they re-do it at no extra charge. I would recommend pointing out specific areas you want addressed if you have a stain somewhere so they pay more attention to it. But other than that, I know it's hard to get a white coat clean. I found Mission Cleaner on Yelp and saw all the positive reviews. Let me tell you-- they weren't lying!!! First of all, both the seamstress and the owner are so nice and accommodating. I dropped my clothes off on Saturday and they were ready by the following Wednesday. I was so impressed and excited with the work the seamstress did on my sweaters. She matched the original stitching and replaced the zipper of my Patagonia better sweater. I was so happy with the work I immediately dropped off two more pieces. I will be going here from now on. I had brought in a sheer maxi skirt, and needed it hemmed. They did a good job hemming, the stitches are neat, and it was fast too which was great but they completely cut off too much fabric. The skirt turned out at least 6 inches shorter than I wanted, essentially ruining it because it's suppose to be a maxi skirt. Now it's at an awkward length, right about calf height which is not what I wanted. This was for a special occasion and my outfit is ruined. There's nothing to be done about it now, but it's extremely upsetting. read more

I stumbled upon this place because I made an honest mistake of throwing an expensive jacket into the wash (but the tag said it was machine washable!!!) anyway, I knew that I needed to fix it and being new to this, I turned to yelp. Susanne (owner?) was so wonderful and accommodating! Arriving in a frantic panic, Susanne greeted me and reassured me that they would take care of it. After thoroughly analyzing my jacket, she told me that she would get back to me as soon as she heard back from the tailor. And she did! The very next day she gave me a call and told me how much it would be to get it repaired. Surprisingly enough, it was a lot less than I expected- SO HAPPY. I agreed and she told me that she would give me another call once the repairs were done. Thinking of a 1-2 week turnaround, she called me within two days and told me that they were done with it! I will honestly come back because of Susanne's customer service alone. The quality of the repair was so good for the price too. Quick and painless! As a passage of rite to adulthood, I had to get my suit dry cleaned. I have heard stories about taking pieces to places, where a) you should take your suit and pants together, b) you should let the cleaners know about something with the garment and c) you should always ask the Yelp gods where the best place is. (Blame GQ/Details/insert-random-fashion-magazine-here). But honestly, I was a bit iffy about finding a place, simply because I wanted the suit that was gifted to me, and tailored to my body, to last as long as it could. Some places would care less about your garment, add in a whole bunch of random chemicals and not really care about the condition. I did find some ease with Mission Cleaner. Before heading to Mission Cleaners, I sent a message the night before, asking a quote about how much it would be to clean my pieces. The next morning, I get a reply from Susan, quoting me the price. I was at awe with how quick of a response I got from Susan, that I knew the people on Yelp weren't joking about how great the customer service is. I went in later that afternoon with my suit/pants and another jacket, and got the price that Susan quoted, plus an additional discount for being a first time customer! I did let the person know (who I think was Susan's son) that I wasn't in a rush for my pieces, but if I was, the pieces would be ready by Tuesday. I went back a week later, noticing that the phone number on my receipt was incorrect. I told Susan this little data entry error when I was picking up my stuff. She quickly corrected this and told me it was a good thing I told her, as they would need it to call me if anything did happened. She always have a big smile on her face, and she also let me know that when I check in on Yelp I can receive 10 % off my price . I think it is very worth mentioning , because not a lot of stores inform you that nowadays unless you see their teeny tiny signs on the wall behind the server or on the register table. I was freaking out because I spilled coffee on my favorite jacket I got from the UK , and I just hand wash the sleeves and some parts in the front where the coffee was spilled . One of the worst parts about moving (just kidding, moving is all worst parts) is having to find new places that can live up to the old ones. I was super happy with my old cleaners and was worried I wouldn't find one as good. Well, I actually found one that is BETTER. Obviously proximity to my home is key, and since Mission is the closest, I tried them first and I'm happy to say after nearly a year, I'm still extremely happy with them. I think a mother and son run the place and from what I've gathered they also have another place in Pasadena. Anyway, I'll admit that I have pretty low criteria when it comes to a cleaners. Can they clean my shirts/pants/sweaters without ruining them and can they do it in a timely fashion? Yes to all. And they're friendly. I love being able to pull up in the drive-thru lane, drop off my clothes, pick up my clothes from the week before and be out within minutes. They're pretty good about not breaking shirt buttons too, but if a button does break, they'll replace it. I've brought in old shirts with crusty buttons and they've managed to find the same buttons to replace them with. Haven't used them for any serious alterations yet but for laundry and dry cleaning they've been great! read more

I have to admit when I first saw the ratings on yelp for this place, I was a little skeptical. 5 out of 5 stars? I ended up going anyway because this is located right by my house. However, my experience with Mission Cleaners was really positive, just like all these other Yelpers. I brought a few coats/ jackets, along with a white jacket, that I had gotten ink on because we accidentally left a pen in one of the pockets while washing. When it was returned, they got off all the ink (despite ink being one of the most difficult stains to remove). I was pretty impressed.
