I'll preface by agreeing with the reviewer "Mr. C". The dentist barely uttered a WORD to me, and the assistants were the only ones speaking to me. I apologize for such a lengthy review, but I never leave a really negative one unless someone absolutely warrants it. I hope this helps everyone and anyone avoid this dentist. I went in for a regular cleaning, but did not realize I signed myself up for some type torture. I'm the type to be able to handle pain very well, and dentist trips are a breeze (crowns, cleanings, fillings, wisdom teeth, etc nothing really ever phases me). Decided to check out this one since it was a little closer than my regular and they had a discount on cleanings (big mistake to trust someone offering discounts for dentistry work...). During the cleaning this guy did NOT hold back. It felt like he was scraping a razor blade all around my mouth, almost deliberately trying to cut away at my gums and at some points and when I was in VERY visible pain, he not ONCE asked if I was ok, if he should slow down, or if I need a break. Nothing. Keeps going as I'm literally squirming in my chair. But, I thought "it's almost over, he's moving onto the next area of the mouth". Nope, for whatever reason the dentist goes BACK to areas he's cleaned and mutilated and goes even deeper for some reason. At this point I'm at the verge of tears, something I've never experienced at any dentist since I was a child (what child doesn't cry at the dentist?). Once he finished, he didn't say a word, got up, and left. The assistant yet again telling me I was finished as I just laid there confused. Not only that, but before I even got up she herself said "wow that's a LOT of blood...". If an even an assistant were to proclaim that then I knew it was bad. I got up expecting some cup of water or something to spit as most dentists have at the chair, but nope. She just tells me I'm good to go...as I still have blood all over me and my neck tissue/towel wrapped around me. I have to unclip and hand it to the woman until she takes it from me. Without swallowing at all, I rush to the bathroom and spit in the sink to be shocked at how much blood I spat out. Then I rinsed 3 full times, and even then still I looked the way I did in the photo I posted. You can clearly see coagulated blood on the top row of teeth, a pool of blood where my lower lip/gum are, and blood all around the edges of every tooth. I floss regularly as well, so there's absolutely no way to blame me on that. Now by this time I'm pissed and my mouth is throbbing in pain, I can literally feel my heartbeat in my mouth. My mom who came along as well came out telling me that when she asked to spit after her cleaning the dentist told her "it's ok you can just swallow". He literally just told her to swallow all the blood, plaque, and god knows what other germs he was hired to CLEAN out of her mouth. What kind of dentist does that? Especially if he has no idea how much of a germaphobe she may be (which she is)? For the love of god don't bring your business ever to this place. And I hope he absolutely loses customers over the way he treats them like animals. read more

I made a huge mistake coming here in what I believe was a few years back in 2017. Back then there were 12 five star reviews on yelp. This is my experience. Dr Jeong had poor bedside manners. He barely uttered a hello and his medical assistants were the ones explaining the procedures and rationale to me. My gut was telling me that something was off and I should have ran. I just trusted the dentist and he had ordered so much work on my teeth. Deep root cleaning which was the most painful thing I've experienced at a dentist. The worst part is I had a crown done there. From the beginning the crown would catch food that was up ton 1cm long! Almost the width of your finger! Food was getting caught that I couldn't even waterpik or floss out and when I asked him about it he sounded like it would go away. My gums bled profusely there. Not only that, the crown was too big so he had to shave it down and I have a dark metal spot on my crown ever since. There is something seriously wrong with 1cm long food getting stuck under the crown every single time I eat. This is my life now. Every meal I floss out food in the crown tooth. Huge chunks of food on average of 5mm+. If I don't floss it out within a few hours, it begins to smell foul. So I've been having to floss three times a day. I'm considering filing a complaint to the board regarding this. Then he tried to order another deep root cleaning but realized he had already completed that procedure shortly before. Mind you, I floss everyday and brush at least twice a day. I've been told that my fairly new crown by multiple dentists need replacement. Makes me question everything he did whether all the multiple tooth fillings, deep root cleanings, and the poor crown fitting. I can't trust dentists anymore. read more

Ok I have been taking my kids here for years and I have nothing against doctor Jeong. Actually I had a 5 star review for him. He has been great. But today I got in an argument with the receptionist and the manager, reason my daughter needed a root canal they referred me to somebody and I didn't go to them because it was too expensive so I found someone else, that endodontist called the office to find some information about my daughter and they wouldn't give it to her anyway it was done and over with, but today I went in to take the report of the root canal so the doctor can do a crown for the root canal and they started being rude when I mentioned why information wasn't giving about my daughter, to the point where the manager told me take your referral and take your kids I am not going to do anything for you. Dr. Jeog treated for few months but severe pain never goes away. I went 2 other dentists for professional opinions and found out that Dr. Jeong diagnosed and treated wrong. Never in my life have I ever witnessed such utter incompetence. How this dentist (term loosely used here) received his credentials is beyond me. My mom decided to select him after seeing his sizeable ad in the newspaper- quite literally one of the greatest mistakes she's made in her entire life. Please don't ever do what she did. A good dentist needs not advertise; true skills speak for themselves and good reputation spreads by word of mouth. Clearly he needs to advertise to compensate for what he lacks, which is basic dental proficiency. My mom had some crowns and dentures to be made and she started the work here in March 2016. It is now January 2017 and she is still having to go bi-weekly if not weekly (several times she had to go 2x in a week). Dentures are one of the easiest and minimally time-consuming things to be done. I've seen them be completed in a week or 2 yet here we are going on nearly AN ENTIRE YEAR and this horrifically inept dentist still hasn't managed to complete one that fits my mom's teeth. To add insult to injury, he seemingly has no remorse as he hasn't apologized for the discomfort (my mom went for weeks here and there without being able to eat much) and worst of all, told her that it's ok if her gums BLEED from the dentures not fitting. He said it's part of the adjustment process and to let them bleed as much as necessary. IS THIS DENTIST FOR REAL?! To add yet another layer to this gross malpractice, he uses low quality materials and tries at every turn to employ shortcuts in order to save himself some costs. Even though this was 100% his wrongdoing he refused to make new dentures for a few months, trying to make adjustments to the faulty one, as is. I understand that there are many shady individuals out there who care not one bit of the well-being of others, of even their own patients (who really are a reflection of your know-how as they are walking examples of your work. If you don't care about the value of your life work/brand, especially at the detriment of others, you truly are a questionable human being). But even so, how could he really be ok with cutting corners in trying to fix a huge problem he and he alone had caused unto his own patient? Any conscionable individual would have apologized and offered a refund along with making a priority of fixing the problem. Instead, he thinks there is no value to my mom's time, asking her to come in every week or every other week; has not apologized; delays her appointment when he has other priorities; tells her to suffer through the bleeding. If there was a way to monetize the physical pain and discomfort, along with the emotional stress and trauma that my mom has endured and is currently still enduring, then collect it from him, it would bring some relief. However, we all know how straining and difficult pursuing a lawsuit really is... My hopes at this point are that he finally finishes my mom's dental work so that she feels no more pain, and that people read this before unknowingly making a regrettable mistake for themselves by going to Dr. Jeong. The receptionists are no consolation prize either. They, collectively, have been rude and dismissive, and evidently need a crash course in customer service. Value your health and safety, please. Value your sanity. Just value yourselves and DO NOT GO HERE. To say that Dr. Jeong is unqualified is really the understatement of a lifetime. read more

I chose this facility due to the good yelp reviews, however I am extremely disappointed. The dentist did good work on my cleaning but they tried to charge me for everything they suggested I obtain on my first visit. (Mind you they suggested A Lot!) Then when I asked the secretary if my cleaning was covered by my insurance she confidently stated it wasn't... as if she had already checked my coverage. Now I dont know if she was being lazy and decided not to check or if they plan to get over on people? I will never know but I had a gut feeling about my visit being very sketchy. So when I got home and checked my coverage I realized I was covered the entire time. And when Ive been calling to correct it and they've been assuring me It will get taken care of.. but long story short it took over a week of me bugging them to get anything done. and now im waiting for an email confirmation which should have been done that day.. its now day 3 still no confirmation. hope this helps others not get taken advantage of. read more

My wisdom teeth started to grow out, but it didn't really irritate me that much so I never got it checked. Finally I decided that I might as well get them taken out, so I came here. Turned out that my right wisdom tooth had gotten so large and grown sideways that it was really close to my nerve. If it had grown into my nerve, my jaw would've been paralyzed!!!! So of course I was terrified, and the surgery seemed scary. I had to get 3 numbing shots, so that I didn't feel pain. During the entire treatment I didn't feel much pain (thank God) and the dentist really knew what he was doing and finished the surgery easily and quickly (thank God again). I felt reassured during my time of stress because the doctor seemed confident in his abilities and was so relaxed. He has over 20 years of experience, and acted as if he's seem a lot more worse cases than mine, so I felt so much better and comforted. He also told me a random story about a princess in a castle during the surgery, lol, which distracted me from the fear!! Definitely great dentist, great staff! I also got my braces done here. I was assigned to Mission Dental in Downey. I called to schedule an appoinment and spoke to Maria. I explained my situation and she immediatly told me the Dr would not take care of my issue and I would have to go back to the dentist that did the work. I said, "well...he is no longer there and he did the work in 2007"...she said "whoever took over should have your records". It is now an Urgent Care facility! I asked for a Manager and she said she was the manager. What?? Maria scheduled me a month out!! Spoke with my insurance and they said I had the right to at least to be seen by a Dentist! I spoke with Miraya, who is the real manager!! She was so nice and was so sorry! Scheduled me for the following Tuesday! I did some research and found my old dentist!! Called and thanked Miraya for her kindness and that I did not want to put up with Maria. I am not the only one who complained about her! She is rude and very unprofessional!! Hasta siempre muelita! I pulled out a deep-cavity infested "wisdom" molar. Plus the fam got their grills examined and thoroughly cleaned. The dentist,Wonjung Jeong DDS, was pretty chill and really welcoming with the kids. The balloon's helped to calm the kidos a bit. The staff was really cool, talkative and overall down-to-earth peeps, making us all feel relaxed and welcomed. I came to this Dental office 3 or 4 times due to slight pain that was wisdom tooth and cavity related. The staff is nice, but I would not recommend the actual Dentist, Dr. Jeong, to anyone. He was extremely rough and rushed each procedure I have had with him. My latest procedure was a deep cleaning on my right side. It hurt really bad when he injected me with the numbing needles and He spent only 5-10 minutes on the cleaning when it's usually supposed to last at least 45minutes - 1 hour. When he was done he didn't even rinse the blood out of my mouth so when I got up and took a look in the mirror I nearly gagged because my entire mouth was bloody. When I got home the pain was severe and once the numbing wore off I had an open scar in 2 of the places he injected me. After my 3 or 4 visits for cleanings, filling and crowns, I believe he has damaged my nerves all times I came. I now have a condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia which is one of the most painful conditions known to man. It is a chronic facial pain condition in which the trigeminal nerve, the nerve that controls the sensations you feel in your face, is damaged. I can't really eat much of anything now (not even noodles), I get spasms of pain when the slightest breeze touches my face and the attacks are so random/severe that I can't really live the life I used to live. To make matters worse, there is no cure for this condition. I wouldn't wish this pain on anybody and I don't wish harm on Dr. Jeong, because maybe he's a really nice man but please be more delicate with your patients..my life has been ruined after coming here. read more

The 1 star is for the dentist and Andy the assistant. If you get a woman assistant and have somewhere to be, just leave you'll be stuck there for an hour minimum even with an appointment. They overbook with no sense of organization. You'll sit in the chair (if they pass you inside within the first thirty minutes) you'll wait at max 20 minutes for someone to just check up on you. If you get a woman assistant, they'll come in and ask YOU what needs to be done as if you're the dentist. Then they'll leave for 10 minutes to the little area they have in the middle to talk to other woman assistants about their vacation to either Big Bear or Vegas. I had a woman assistant begin to work on me then abruptly stop to have a full blown conversation right in front of my face like I had the time to sit in their chair all day. Another time, a assistant sprayed me with the water tool and soaked my torso. This same assistant would then yell at me in spanish as if i didn't understand english and she BROKE OFF MY BRACKET because she was so aggressive when changing my bands, said it wasn't my fault but when the dentist came in she began to say that it was because i drank too much soda. If you're lucky enough you'll get Andy, the quickest and nicest assistant. If you go here against your will, request him. They ask for payment first because after they get your money they take their time. If I could, I would stop going to this place but since i'm on contract i have to stay. Today they actually opened an hour late, the dentist, assistants and patients were waiting outside like it was black Friday until the person who opened the store walked up in Pajamas. Unprofessional, Slow, and Rude is the perfect way to describe this establishment. read more

I was referred to Mission Dental Group by a friend and I couldn't be happier with the care I received! I need a root canal and after going to a few different dentist I'm will get my root canal done here, they have a way better price considering I have to pay out of pocket and I feel most comfortable here! I went in because of the yelp reviews being so good and feel deceived. The receptionist was unfriendly and had a bad attitude. She only became very nice when they were trying to get me to pay for a deep cleaning. I felt very pressured and she wasn't considerate about my financial situation. The dentist was also pretty rude. He walked in and didnt even introduce himself. He sat down and got straight to working on my teeth then left. Not even a little small talk to at least get me comfortable. I decided to give Mission dental a try after seeing all of the reviews from Yelp. I had 2 major problems which involved a crown replacement and also a bridge implant that another dental office told me I needed to do. After seeing the Dr Jeong he assured me that an implant was not necessary and that he would save the tooth and place a crown which he did of course in the end. After 2 visits to the dental office he got the job done and also did my deep cleaning as well. Very friendly place and would recommend to anyone that has in-network insurance. read more
