Too many homeless people, alot of unsafe things taking place at night. The grounds are dirty, just about everyone I talk to has roaches and we can see them in the cemet while walking around. They raised the trash again 65.00 bucks rediculous! It you do the math 65×438 units = 28, 470 total they are paying for trash. I don't believe waste management is charging over 28,000 for trash. Mission Grive has to be getting a cut. I feel sorry for office staff too if you do real estate look at how much greystar is making off us peasants - it's millions of dollars and their poor office staff is probably getting paid pennies to work. read more

Mission Grove park was my home for many many years. unfortunately, because Rose, the property manager, rejected my rental assistance, I am now on the streets with an eviction on my record. I will never understand why ste denied my rental assistance, but I know she was upset with me ever since I called fair housing regarding mold. heartless people that work there and joseph is a complete jerk. do not rent here! They don't deserve your money and apparently, in my situation, they didn't want my money. Im not letting it stop here, I have a lawyer. read more

So last night around 2 am my husband and I are watching a movie and noticed we heard our car alarm, so he goes running out too see that once again his work truck was broken into for the third time. He has his vehicle locked at all times, this hasn't only happened to us there's multiple people in the complex with the same problem. These apartments used to be nice and caring now they don't care they have cameras up that don't even work and when brought up they say their there to scare people! How wonderful. We pay over 2 grand a month for our stuff to be broken into and stolen. It'd be nice if you guys could actually invest in cameras and the back gate to be working at all time can't forget "patrol " that's supposed to be there between 10pm-5 am. So I'm moving in to these apartments on 03/01/21. So far everything seems well, only things that brought lines in my forehead as of now is the dog park door entrances are awkwardly placed. I was told rent was to be 1855 for a one bedroom for a 13 month lease then it so happened to change to a 15 month lease. I will be updating as the next 15 months carry on. These are the first "luxury" apartments I've moved to as well so I may be a little more lenient. read more

Once again this place has been able to make me regret moving my family here. I feel like I overpay to live here because it is a nice community. Part of over paying means I can not park in an empty space because my car will get cited and towed, which happened last night. Around 2330 I came out to move my car into my car port, which I tried surrendering two weeks ago mind you but Katie said I had to wait until the first of August, and my car was already being lifted by the tow truck. Their patrol company called and had my car towed. I got stuck with a $90 fee for them to put it down. So I went to the front office the following day to see who was going to reimburse me because I feel this is incredibly unfair. I spoke to Natasha in the front office and she basically said I was stuck with the fee. I asked her if she can provide me the number o the corporate office and she told me I can google it.. I can google it. Really, that's what she said. As a resident, who pays a lot of money to live here, I feel like I am a prisoner. All the money I pay and I can't leave my car in an open spot for a little bit? I also brought up the fact that there is a homeless man who uses out poplar night. He sits in there with his dog smoking cigarettes like he owns the place. I reported that to Katie and she said there was nothing they can do about that. But they can sure do something to punish the residents who live here. I received absolutely no help and no closure in this matter and I am very upset. The apartments themselves are fine but the process you have to go through not to get your car towed is RIDICULOUS. And I'm talking about an assigned spot that comes with the apartment, it needs to be registered with an entirely different company so they don't tow your car. Another observation on this property......some time ago you demanded that the patio's/balcony's be rid of unauthorized items immediately. I and some of the surrounding other residents did so. Even during that specific time I noticed that there were other residents who were somehow allowed to keep the unauthorized items such as bbq's on their porch/patio/balcony (and this is nothing recent) Now, it is more and more visible everyday especially when the colors are vibrant. There is no consistency here. It is not fair to make some of us adhere to your rules and not others. Either we are allowed to have our bbq's or we are not. Please treat all of us in a fair manner because the amount of rent paid to live here, you need to tighten up your rules where they benefit all of us not only the one's that you want to look the other way and ignore how they are living! read more

HORRIBLE!!! Mission Grove Apartments are charging me to replace carpet. I have lived there one year and upon my move in there was a stain on the living room carpet that was from the previous tenants (and other items that needed fixing) and was addressed during the walk through. The Mission Grove employee had assured me that she will note the stain and all other issues that needed attention. Now they are charging me for replacement when I kept the unit in great condition. When I left I cleaned everything and the carpet was still in good condition. They obviously didn't charge the previous tenants to replace carpet! Why are we being stuck with that crazy bill? The carpet is still in great condition and only needs a cleaning, so why can't they just have it cleaned? Every time we need or sent in a work request for a non working washing machine, a leaking dishwasher, our emergency sprinklers hanging out of the ceiling, the ice maker in the freezer wouldn't work, the kitchen sink faucet was not working correctly. There was a condensation pipe coming out of one of the bathroom walls spilling into the tub but leaving rust running down the wall that had to be cleaned constantly, the light outside our front door never worked and was never replaced. So coming home at night or my daughter coming home at night is very scary with it pitch dark outside. Not safe for a female. Are amenities got taken away due to COVID but with all that we continued to pay our rent on time every month. read more

Hmm where to begin. Walls are painted with a beige color but had more of a pinkish tint to them but sold as "two tone paint". (Guess its not so bad if you're a 6 year old girl and into that kinda thing). My carpet had a ton of patches all over the place and the kitchen was small without a lot of storage space (2 bedroom 1300 sq ft floor plan). Large bedrooms and bathrooms, average quality construction. Did come with a full size washer/dryer. Service requests were fixed within 2 days or so and the maintenance guys were friendly at least. Too bad they're not the ones you have to deal with in the office. Two words to describe those girls: fake and impolite. I dreaded going in there and often put my rent in the drop box so i wouldn't have to talk to them. I was always bummed out when I missed the mailman or UPS guy and had to retrieve my package at the office. All in all it was a "meh" experience. I was assaulted this morning in front of my parking spot inside of the apartment complex near building 13 around 10am. The assailant was aggresive and violent. He stole my phone by getting out of his car and coming toward me (driver's seat); grabbing the phone after taking a picture of his license plate and took off. Honestly you could do better. We rented a 2 bed 2 bath for 2 years that was partially renovated started at 1600 and then increased to about 2100 within two years. During covid we were paying for all of the amenities which were closed which made absolutely no sense to me. My bfs car got broken in to right in front of the main office and when we asked for the camera footage they claimed the cameras don't work. They say they have security but where? There's absolutely no security in this complex so you're on your own for that. Their washing machines put rust stains on three quarters of our clothes. They told us to reach out to our renters insurance but insurance said it was on them to do regular maintenance on their machines (which I fully agree with). Constant water shut offs as well. They're starting to do little renovations which is nice. But once again you could do better. Pay the extra money and go to a nicer complex you won't regret it read more

I lived there for 2 years during those two years I had homeless people sleeping inside mission grove park . The front gates never work and when I asked them if there gonna do anything about the homeless Joseph the employee at mission grove said theres nothing they can do . For me just to call the police ( they wont do anything about the homeless sleeping on there grounds ) If you have Children like I do I HIGHLY would not recommend living in mission grove apartments. You have homeless people talking to them self If you notice there are a bunch of brown motorhomes on the street on Northrop. Neighborhood is nice, quiet. Amenities are good. Maintenance is friendly and swift. Management sucks. Nicole Helton is probably very popular with her higher-ups--she does a great job of avoiding actual answers. I'm sure she's praised for how little she cares about her tenants. Pro's: Apartments are nice. Big balconies and big bathrooms. Pools and spas are nice. 3 spas and 2 pools. Maintenance is mostly prompt and fixes the problem quickly. Cons: Transients constantly walking through apartment complex and taking showers in the big spa showers. My car got broken into...make sure you empty your car every night. Security sucks. Rent goes up everytime you renew your lease. Parking is horrible. Management needs more security patrols and security cameras. They need to fix the spa light in the big spa. I don't care about the gates, apartment gates are pointless and more inconvenient then good. read more

Only good thing about this place is its location. If you have school-age children, these apartments are in an Area where they can go to a good schools. That was the only good thing! Cars are constantly getting broken into. Poop and flies are EVERYWHERE! Their gate is almost always broken. Homeless come in throw trash everywhere. Homeless bathe in the pools and hot tubs. People sell drugs in this complex!!!! Shady people are always coming in and out with their backpack ready to get the next load of drugs to sell. Very unsafe place. Horrible... horrible... horrible! Applied for an apartment, got approved, had a move in date then get a call the next day that that apartment is no longer available!? Just to tell me there is another unit in the same area, but for $100 more. Instead of honoring the price in the agreement "there is nothing we can do". Then when asked to apply for that one all of a sudden that one is no longer available but there another unit for $300 more, again in the same area! When asked to speak with management, no one is available. When asked for corporates number... "sorry we don't give that out!" What a freaking joke! This is the first property management company that reports your rental history to the credit bureau after payment 1 day late. I called the office to ask if they can please help me remove this from my credit history after all I have been renting here for my sister and nephews since 2013 and they refused to help me. I understand is my responsibility to pay on time, but one day late???Give me break. I talked to other property management companies and they advised Alliance has the power to remove this from my history if they really wanted to help me, but they just won't. I'm sharing my experience after submitting my application & holding deposit for a unit at Mission Grove once I had taken a tour. I came in for a second tour since I was in between two apartments. The experience was great up until Joseph, the leasing manager felt it was necessary to constantly bring up eviction, because I brought a person along with me when I did my second tour saying he suspected we were moving in together. If he wasn't on the application it's pretty simple he's not going to be moving in. I just needed a second opinion, and there's no way I'm the only person that has brought someone with them for support when viewing for an apartment, since signing a 14 month lease is a big deal. I'm a grown woman why would I want to be sneaking anyone into my apartment either way. But I know for a fact because I'm applying with housing assistance he would assume that it must be something I would do and I was extremely offended and wouldn't even want to live in a place where before you even move in, that's how someone would talk to you. Not only that, but nobody made me aware that by submitting your application date with a move in of the following day could get your date extended, if they can't process your application that day and your rate will change. I wish that was what I was offended about, but the way Joseph treated that situation ruined my day and I definitely don't want to move into this place anymore. read more

On my move out day inspection (after staying there for 3 months @ about $ 1950 per month) Augusto came to inspect and put down on the move out inspection sheet that i will be charged for touch up paint and carpet shampoo/deep clean. I ask him where in the apartment that shows dirt/wear that are accessively BEYOND normal wear and tear that he is going to charge me for. i said it is against the law to charge tenant anything that is NOT beyond normal wear. Then he point out the teeny tiny brown dirt probably the size of less than 1/4" on the wall and a small line of lightly faded paint on wall where dining chair was. He said the shampoo cleaning required because it was new carpet !!! I told him i am going to need to make a video of all the "damages" he just told me,so if he can point out those "damages/dirt" again, of course he refuse and quickly rush off without even taking the keys back from me. I go to office talk to Nicole helton, long story short, she said the shampoo is required because they shampoo it before, eventhough my video proof that the carpet is as clean as i move in, she said doesn't matter it is required because i live on it (she mean the invisible germ). I told her what she doing is illegal, she is making the deposit NON refundable by forcing tenant to shampoo carpet no matter what. And she said that law allow her to charge tenant with just receipt, WITHOUT proof of damage. I disagree with her and ask her to go to my apartment to point out those damages i want to video as back up to proof to judge one day, of course she refuse (because she knew there is no valid damage to show). So 2 months later i received my full deposit refund back, they didn't charge me for any of those made up damages they claim. But they are still violate the law for not refunding check within 21 days ! I will defitenly reach out to calbre to file a complaint too, the real estate license can be easily found online by name. read more

DON'T MOVE HERE. I wish I could give a negative -5 stars. This is long, but seriously take this into consideration.Things with this place are getting worse and worse. Nevermind the horrible "parking", trash everywhere, what looks like vomit ALL OVER THE SIDEWALKS/ crushed & stomped on snails and smushed dog poop, and the dumpster divers, this place is unsafe. *We've had patio furniture & packages stolen off of our balcony/ door. *There IS no security whatsover. Ever. Office staff lies and says the security is just "incognito, in plain clothes & undercover"- then they contradict themselves & say security is decked out in full gear & even carries a gun? There is no security, point blank. If there was, we would see them or a patrol car like I used to the first 2 months I was here. Plus the bums/ obvious crack heads roaming around wouldn't be roaming around here. *Mail room and boxes have been broken into on numerous occasions and staff does nothing. They lied through their teeth claiming they didn't know why all of the doors of the boxes inside a LOCKED mail room had been ripped off. They couldn't explain why we were missing mail pieces we were counting on receiving, like checks and bills to pay. Until one new little employee spilled the beans by accident saying someone was seen with trash bags full of mail speeding off in their car and wasn't caught by authorities. Then, they were "honest" and finally admitted to us residents that the break ins were happening. *The entire staff here is just careless, there is absolutely no urgency in anything. We have brought so many REAL issues to them and they just sit there and stare like robots. No emotion or feeling that they care or want to help. No customer service, no help. We have a bunch of non emergency maintenance issues, but we have never called maintenance once. With the lack of how the office handles important, urgent issues, I highly doubt maintenance is going to help us out with the small things around here. We're willing to just take the chance of having a few minor repairs and paying for them, then dealing with maintenance. The staff is just filled with liars and sneaky, uncaring people. Feel free to check out their other reviews on other sites too. It hurts my head how much I literally hate- no, loathe living in this apartment, this community, and dealing with those robots in the office. The rules here are strict but yet not enforced and there are constantly strange homeless people walking around digging in the trash. We also have solisiting all the time. The management and follow up with complaints about things going on isnt the best. My car got hit by some kids throwing a skateboard in the parkinglot right in front of me and when I reported it to the office they didnt even come out to talk to the kids or there parents. I lived at Mission Grove Park for 4 years and moved out in June 2018. First the good: Maintenance staff was always prompt and courteous. My apartment and patio was spacious and the in-unit washer and dryer was wonderful. The not so good: These apartments are outrageously expensive and they charge you for trash and water on top of your base rent (plan on another $50 or so tacked on to your rent). Be aware, they will raise your rent 5%-7% every single year. Add it up. If your original rent is already $1,800 or more for a 2 br., in a couple of years you will be paying over $2,000. RENT A HOUSE. For the rent I was paying, I should have had high end finishes in my apartment. I had ugly, plastic counters, cheap, ugly cabinets that could not even hold the weight of my dishes so they sagged, chipped bathtubs and the dining room lighting fixture looked like a flying saucer. If you live in a downstairs unit, be prepared to hear everything that your upstairs neighbors do because the place is cheaply built. Also, some of the corporate rules at this complex are really ridiculous. I am now renting an older 2 bedroom apartment in Redlands for almost $400 less a month AND they pay my trash, water and sewer. Yes, it's an older apartment, but it's built better so it's quieter, the finishes are much nicer and the cabinets actually hold my dishes without sagging. Do yourself a favor, either rent a house for this kind of money, or try to find a smaller apartment complex that is not corporate run. My apartment was definitely not worth the rent I was paying. read more

Do not rent an apartment from here! We moved out almost a year ago and are still dealing with their stupidity. They said we owed them money when we didn't. I had to go back and forth with them for weeks over money they owed us. They turned us over to a collection agency. We have the collection agency all of the paperwork we had proving we didn't owe money. In the end, we were right and the collection agency said Mission Grove opened it in error. In the meantime, it dropped our credit score over 20 points! They charge a lot of money and the apartments are crap! read more

Noisy and annoying neighbors, things are always breaking and utilities are frequently getting shut off due to maintenance emergencies and other faulty equipment stuff. The gates are frequently broken and do not secure properly. There is usually homeless people wandering throughout the complex and digging through trash cans. I have had multiple amazon packages stolen from my front porch. The parking enforcement is pretty useless. I called them to report that someone was parked in my parking space, their reply is that there's nothing they can do but they cited me for parking in a guest space when I can't park in my own damn space. I called the leasing office and they told me that there's nothing they can do. There seems to be a lot that the property management can't or just won't do, pretty pathetic considering the premium you have to pay to live here. I can't say that I have had a positive experience especially considering the premium I am paying in rent. It's becoming more and more worth it the longer I live here to just pay the early termination fee to get out of the lease, I have progressively become more and more disappointed with Mission Grove and have been offered less and less solutions. read more

I getting up in life, so is getting harder to move thes days, and this place is the worsts for people like me to live in peace. I moved here in 2016, but can't wait to leave. If you want a nice to retire this is not it. Cars are vandalized, and I don't like the bug problem. I will say that the maintenance is okay, but they often have to return to finish the job or only part way do it like the time the replace the screen on my window and bent the side of it to leave a big hole for air and bugs to get in. I know I'm old, but the office staff seems to have more issues with their memory than I do. Very bad communication. My husband and I lived in 2 bedrooms for almost 5 years. First rent was $1250 and last rent was $1900 !!! I liked the old mantiance guys who were honest and did good jobs. My houseplants always died within one to two months inside of apt rooms. Heavy toxic chemical (before move in) Nicole Helton - a manager did not follow the apt policy like upstair neighbor - apt #50 above. ex convicts ! Their balcony fence was covered with materials that we could not see up there. They always lived on the balcony and watched every move people walked by. She abused to park on carport too close to my vehicle. They sometimes watered over my patio with plant pots. Nicole obviously befriended with these bad tenants who stayed at home-jobless. and got free food bags from church every month. I put wall folder on my patio -first floor for privacy then it must removed ! Unfair with upstair tenant s balcony. The apt rule did not allow it. Highly not recommend. Things you need to know before you move in: I am not used to leave bad reviews but this is so unfair to disregard this issue. Please read this thoroughly, BE AWARE and get ready to pay the big bills. My wife and I with our two kids moved to mission grove apartments in August 2015. We both transferred from Santa Monica College to UC Riverside. Our rent for a two bedroom initially started at $1370+ (trash+utility) for the first ten months. When we renewed the lease for another ten months they raised it to $1430+. After 20 months I noticed that if I go month to month I need to pay $1910 every month, so I renewed it for two months and I paid $1730+ and then another two months (month to month) each month 1910+. SO when you look at the figures you can tell how much above the initial lease which was $1370 has been paid; $2400 above the initial lease which was $1370. We have never been notified about these when we were moving in. Lorry told us that your rent will stay the same. Expected 24 months X $1370= $32,880 Fair We paid 10 months X $1370= $13,700 Fair 10 months x $1430= $14300 $600 above 2 months ($1730-$1370= $360) = $720 above 2 months ($1910-$1370= $540) = $1080 above Total $2400 above What seems absolutely unfair is being charged for carpet installation; I am not getting my $500 deposit back and they are charging me another $585 Total for 24 months: almost $36,380 not including trash and utility which is almost $150 a month; When I vacated the apartment I was expecting to get at least a portion of my deposit $500. After a few days I receive a shocking bill saying that on top of my initial deposit which has been collected I owe another$585. There is break down for cleaning the unit and installing new carpet on the invoice. I called them to discuss the issue and their reasoning is that they installed a new carpet when I moved in; now I have to pay the prorated amount. I have been renting other apartments and I have never been charged for carpet installation. When I moved in there, no one told me the carpet is new and when I am leaving I have to pay for another carpet installation. She said there has been stains in the dining room, even in that case why carpet on the whole place have been reinstalled. First of all when doing business with them BE AWARE that you need to pay way above your rent if you go month to month or short term. They may come up with extra shocking bills as and they may never give your deposit back. Landlords usually care about the length of tenant's stay and the total amount of rent tenant pays. They charge even portion of cleaning based on those factors (the more you stay the less you get charged for cleaning). We stayed there for two years, paid $2400 extra based on move in contract ($1370) and now we are being charged almost $1100 for cleaning and new carpet installation. read more
