I ordered the classic on a bed of greens. The greens were a bed of sprouts. Erm. How is a burger this fantastic at this random burger spot by the beach! Welllll. They did win the 2020 best of Rhode Island award and I see why! This burger is juicy ( no matter how you order it, mine was well done and couldn't BELIEVE how juicy it still was), the perfect portion size and the meat flavor is just phenomenal. I want to go on and on like I'm Anthony bourdain or Guy Fieri on triple D and talk about flavor profiles and such but talk is cheap. I went, I ate and am still talking about this burger. The star here is the burger. A solid 4 burger joint with accommodating (not overly friendly) staff, and the ambiance is chill and casual. Limited seating indoors but some additional seating outside. My family and I had been looking for our burger spot and found it! This place consistently makes a good burger. The buns are toasted, they have their own sauces (BBQ is my jam), and the meat is cooked perfectly medium every time we have gone. My kids love the burgers and hotdogs. Where to start ... dude running the register was as aloof and apathetic as you could possibly get. Not helpful at all ... and begrudged us for asking a few questions about the menu / how to order. Secondly - ordered 3 fries ... rang us up for 4... that's $24 for FREAKIN FRENCH FRIES. Virtual receipt means waiting for text. Text came in with overcharge. Went in ... and he said , "do you want 2 baskets or not?" Turns out the basket he showed me when ordering is actually 2x orders ... just a racket man .... So $6 order of fry's (per menu) is only half basket! $100 for burgers and fries for the family is BS. This place sucks ... avoid it. When the food came it was mediocre at best ... nothing special given the premium. Bunch of "too cool" tools running a burger joint. Husband and I were craving burgers on a Sunday afternoon and decided to give them a try. Had to order takeout, due to a sleeping baby, and were more than a little disappointed to find that they didn't come with fries, after so many reviews said how delicious they were! We just assumed they did, since all the photos of their burgers show them together. That was a bummer. He got the bacon cheeseburger and loved it- had nice thick bacon and a good cook on the burger. I got the Mickey D and it was mostly just fine. It was over cooked and, somehow, a bit bland? I'm sure there are other better choices on the menu, so I'd give it another try, maybe, but I'd probably call to order to make sure I can get fries too (after all, there's so many reviews raving about them). read more

Mission was okay, and a disappointment considering I love Winner Winner in Newport. The place has great vibes and is brand new, but I was unimpressed with service and overall food quality. I was put on hold for 10 minutes just to order a take out order on a Monday night, which I thought was strange. The fries were mostly fried potato skins with no potato in them- very disappointing considering they were $4. Hands down one of the best organic style burger and fries you'll ever have! If you want the full combo, order the Resin IPA to go along. The mission burger with bacon and cheddar adding jalapeños is my way. The burger meat comes from an organic farm in Maine because they won't serve burger meat that has been frozen and RI has a weird law that all RI burger meat producers have to freeze their hamburger after processing. (It's RI after all and someone's cousin probably owns the local freezer). You won't come here for the ambiance, since they closed their Newport location during Covid. The Middletown location is in a building behind first beach, so easy to find, picnic tables inside and outside for dining, but you are there for the food not location. A good option is to call ahead, then eat at second beach. The food is so fresh you'll want to eat is as hot as possible, so if you are doing take away, plan to eat as quickly as possible. DO NOT visit newport without stopping by Mission Burger if you are a burger connoisseur!! read more

We love the burgers here! We are so excited that they are right in Middletown - what a treat for us because it is so close. The hot dogs are also amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly and the restaurant is very clean (totally keeping up with COVID needs). Just when I thought they could not get any better...they started Mission mornings and now have delicious breakfast sandwiches as well as excellent Empire coffee.
