SPECTACULAR! 4th year in a row here during the conference we go to for our continued medical education credits. I think this place should have 5 star rating! Every time we come here the service is excellent and the food is amazing. This is what we come for right? Outstanding food and service! This year was no different than the other years and I love how the menu continues to evolve and change and everything that comes to life from the menu to the table is well thought out and bursting with harmonious blends of flavor. The presentation is gorgeous too! Plating is also important and they nail it! Okay let's gooooo! Come join our dining experience! We tried a bit of everything! We loved every bit of it. We live in the west side and I cannot say enough how much better oysters are on east coast! Slurp ! Mmm! Snacks: 1. Shartner's Farm Carrots: pea green pesto, pine nut, n'duja . If you're a meat, potato and pasta person and try to avoid your veggies, don't do that here. GET IT! It's such a great melody of textures and flavors that pair well. It doesn't feel like you are eating carrots and regardless it's a very dressed up bougie delicious carrot plate ! Mmmm . One of my faves out of the snacks. 2. Narragansett Creamery Burrata: green strawberry, speck, basil. Creamy, vibrant and just delicious Pasta: only had room in our tummies for 1 but every year we try different pastas and never disappoints. This year no exception. Maltagliati- hopkins southdowns lamb sugo, swiss chard, harissa, umbrian chickpea. Excellent! Pasta was perfect texture and consistency!! Little touch of spice from harissa which I loved (not overpowering). The Swiss chard was cooked to a crispy texture which I loved. I was a bit nervous about the lamb because it really can vary from place to place. However, I should have known better being from here they cooked/braised it to perfection: melt in your mouth type of soft and no weird or gamey taste. Definitely delicious pasta I recommend. Plates: 1. Duck Leg Confit- japanese turnip, spigariello kale, huckleberry conserva, duck jus. Personally my faves of the two plates but both delicious. The crispy skin from the duck and tender flavorful duck meat was just to die for. Loooooved. Plus the turnips and the amazing huckleberry conserva! Thinking about it makes my mouth water. So so good. 2. Beef Short Rib-swiss chard erbazzone, sunchoke, hazelnut. Loved it. Tasty as expected. Great flavor and tender. Dessert: 1. Olive Oil Cake- strawberry, rosé, lime curd, basil gelato. Wow! Oh wow! I'm so happy this time around they have some cake options. I love olive oil cake and now to pair with a basil gelato sounds insane right? Holy cow! Soooo good! Not what I was expecting. Strawberry, rose, lime and basil gelato flavor all work well together in this dessert. My fave dessert of the night! TRY IT! 2. Cookies N' cream: narragansett creamery ricotta, chocolate biscotti- yummy! Tasted like an elevated cookies and cream ! We loved our experience! Hopefully when you visit here, you can enjoy it as much as we do year after year. I absolutely love this place. Another great dining experience at Giustos. I have to admit this is one of my favorite restaurants on the island. The food; amazing, the flavors amazing. I tried the Cacio de pepe fried potatoes and they were so good. Beautifully fried and the potatoes texture were light and pleasantly dried. For my main course I had the tonnorelli pasta with a green garlic sauce which is my favorite. Only available during early spring when the garlic is young and green. The flavor is mild not too garlicky with an herbal earthy flavor. One of the best pasta dishes I've had. Dessert was olive oil cake with a minty flavored gelato. Everything is made in house. Service is great, everyone is so welcoming and the vibe so calming . Can't say enough about this place. read more

The front of the house was split: Pretty bar with fantastic bartenders who were friendly, attentive pros - but an odd dining area set-up (and it wasn't spotless, either) with just a weird and not especially welcoming vibe from the staff in that area. We stumbled upon this restaurant due to the fact that it was primetime and a lot of of the restaurants had a much longer wait . We started out with the crustini which was delicious. But our two of main pasta dishes both $30 plus were not worth the money. One (the rigatoni) was way over salted and over seasoned. The other the (garganelli) tasted like a pasta dish I make at home. I must say the service was fantastic and have no complaints. But it's called an Italian restaurant which really should be labeled as a fusion restaurant. If you want real Italian, go to Federal hill in Providence. read more

I heard about this place via a few travel vlogs and am happy that I had the opportunity to try. The restaurant is super cozy on a strip in Newport. The ambiance was great as was the service. We had some time to kill and stopped to sit at the outdoor bar and perhaps have a bite. We were in between service, so there was a fairly limited menu, but what we got was excellent. The polenta bites with mushrooms and cheese were very tasty, and the shrimp was fresh with a tangy cocktail sauce. Went to this restaurant based on multiple recommendations and wanted to like it but the service level fell short. Had a lunch reservation, we requested to be sat at an outside table closer to the bar and we were told that could not be accommodated as the tables are assigned electronically and could not change. Asked the host to check again and was told that no changes could be made. This started off the lunch poorly. Hi Sarah, Although that's a nice, restrained, half-hearted apology, I do appreciate that you took the time to review this internally and discuss what was, in my view, a ridiculous, over-the-top response to what should have been a non issue. More to the point, however, the issue was not simply the decision itself, it was the manner in which it was handled. Your employee was dismissive, rude, and frankly arrogant while I calmly tried to explain what was clearly an obvious misunderstanding. That interaction, more than anything, is what elevated this from a minor inconvenience to something worth addressing publicly. That performance was her platform to stand by and justify her judgment. This in turn, is my platform, as a consumer, to express my dissatisfaction with how I was treated. Twenty years ago, that balance didn't really exist. Fortunately, it does now. One of the most amazing meals I've had in a long time. Some of the Newport restaurants rely on the ocean views or ambiance but Giusto has all of this and the freshest, most delicious food we've had. We are locals who stopped in by chance and tried out the chefs tasting menu. I am usually a picky eater so I was a bit nervous but every dish and every bite was so perfectly balanced and made with the highest quality ingredients! This was truly one of the most delicious meals we've had in a long time. The service was phenomenal and the waiter even suggested a wine pairing different from the one that I ordered and he was absolutely right! The bar staff created unique and innovative cocktails! I can't believe it took us so long to dine here. This is hands down the best food I've had in a very long time. Ambiance 10/10, service 10/10 and food 100/10. The street corn ravioli was out of this world. I also tried the peach & prosciutto bruschetta which was savory & sweet and just sooo good. I kept seeing this Bloody Mary type of cocktail going out so I had to order one. This drink was AMAZING. We waited 50 minutes for our pasta to come out (and were still waiting for the rest of our orders) -- not exactly the experience you want for an anniversary dinner with two babies. That's a long time to keep little ones entertained. The staff offered an "apology" cheese ball, which ended up becoming our son's dinner while we kept waiting for his pasta. They also gave us two extra shrimp cocktails as an apology -- woah! A friend had highly recommended this place, but unfortunately, our experience was a real disappointment. Dined here on our first night in Newport and had a really nice dining experience. Una was our server and she was very thorough. She was very patient with my indecision around what to drink... and allowed tastings and suggestions. Very nice looking restaurant with a wonderful view of the connected harbor. Took a day trip to Newport to celebrate our anniversary and was excited to try Giusto's tasting menu! We made reservations for an early dinner on a Saturday and it was already pretty lively. We were seated in the covered patio with a nice view of the water. It was a lovely space away from the busyness of the main dining area, but the sun was pretty strong at times. The different courses came out at a good pace, with my favorite being the pasta. They also surprised us with complimentary mocktails for our anniversary, which was sweet of them. I've never had a bad thing at Giusto's. It's a lovely spot in the warmer months, but plan ahead and make a reservation or you'll be disappointed. I'm posting pics, couldn't tell you the specifics because we love ordering the Chef's Tasting, a 7 course meal including a few small "snack" plates, salad, pasta and dessert. We decided to visit for brunch and were immediately struck by the restaurant's beautiful interior, complete with a cozy enclosed patio warmed by heaters. Our server was friendly and gladly walked us through the menu offerings. The fluke crudo was adorned with delightful strawberry and balsamic accents, though the fluke itself had a very fishy aftertaste. The grilled octopus was one of our favorites of the meal, with its tender texture and the flavorful punch of butter beans, creating a well-balanced dish that left us impressed. The local rotating fish of the day was fluke. The fish was well cooked and tasty. Found two seats at the bar on a rainy August evening. It's surprising how badly even adults dress going out to dinner but the restaurant is very pleasant and the bartender was terrific. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. We shared two appetizers (tuna tartare, Scotch egg) that were unusual and very delicious. We were lucky enough to attend a rehearsal dinner at Guisto, and the food and service were fantastic. The restaurant has a spacious bar with a great selection of liquors. The bartender made a great margarita. We were seated on the back patio, which had some clear tarps blocking the cold rainy weather. It was comfortable. The highlights of the food included: the fried ricotta balls, the grilled summer squash, the mushroom pasta, and the chicken. Came to have dinner at Giusto last Wednesday night after doing a ton of research on different restaurants in the area. I was only in town for one night so I wanted to pick a good spot and this place had stellar reviews and looked beautiful. The hostess was so sweet, I asked if I was underdressed wearing a silk cami and black jeans with heels and she laughed and said they had no dress code, which I appreciated and it made me more comfortable. I didn't pack any dresses, which had I known was what everyone woman was wearing I would have packed differently, first time Newport girl here. Anyways, I took a seat at the bar and every bartender made eye contact with me but nobody came over. I sat and sat and sat and started searching on my phone for another place to go because nobody was coming over to me and I thought it was pretty, unwelcoming if you will. Finally someone came over with a menu and I just had off vibes, I didn't want to stay. I ordered a shrimp cocktail because I knew it would come out quickly and I was starving, it came out within minutes and it was fresh and delicious. The menu otherwise didn't wow me, nothing was jumping out so I put my credit card down and was in and out of the place in 20 minutes. That was enough for me. Maybe it was an off night. read more
