SPECTACULAR! 4th year in a row here during the conference we go to for our continued medical education credits. I think this place should have 5 star rating! Every time we come here the service is excellent and the food is amazing. This is what we come for right? Outstanding food and service! This year was no different than the other years and I love how the menu continues to evolve and change and everything that comes to life from the menu to the table is well thought out and bursting with harmonious blends of flavor. The presentation is gorgeous too! Plating is also important and they nail it! Okay let's gooooo! Come join our dining experience! We tried a bit of everything! We loved every bit of it. I'll mention my faves but that doesn't take away how hard it was to choose a fave! Everything was DELICIOUS ! Raw bar: Jamestown oysters . We had 10. We can't get enough east coast oysters. We live in the west side and I cannot say enough how much better oysters are on east coast! Slurp ! Mmm! Snacks: 1. Shartner's Farm Carrots: pea green pesto, pine nut, n'duja . If you're a meat, potato and pasta person and try to avoid your veggies, don't do that here. GET IT! It's such a great melody of textures and flavors that pair well. It doesn't feel like you are eating carrots and regardless it's a very dressed up bougie delicious carrot plate ! Mmmm . One of my faves out of the snacks. 2. Narragansett Creamery Burrata: green strawberry, speck, basil. Creamy, vibrant and just delicious Pasta: only had room in our tummies for 1 but every year we try different pastas and never disappoints. This year no exception. Maltagliati- hopkins southdowns lamb sugo, swiss chard, harissa, umbrian chickpea. Excellent! Pasta was perfect texture and consistency!! Little touch of spice from harissa which I loved (not overpowering). The Swiss chard was cooked to a crispy texture which I loved. I was a bit nervous about the lamb because it really can vary from place to place. However, I should have known better being from here they cooked/braised it to perfection: melt in your mouth type of soft and no weird or gamey taste. Definitely delicious pasta I recommend. Plates: 1. Duck Leg Confit- japanese turnip, spigariello kale, huckleberry conserva, duck jus. Personally my faves of the two plates but both delicious. The crispy skin from the duck and tender flavorful duck meat was just to die for. Loooooved. Plus the turnips and the amazing huckleberry conserva! Thinking about it makes my mouth water. So so good. 2. Beef Short Rib-swiss chard erbazzone, sunchoke, hazelnut. Loved it. Tasty as expected. Great flavor and tender. Dessert: 1. Olive Oil Cake- strawberry, rosé, lime curd, basil gelato. Wow! Oh wow! I'm so happy this time around they have some cake options. I love olive oil cake and now to pair with a basil gelato sounds insane right? Holy cow! Soooo good! Not what I was expecting. Strawberry, rose, lime and basil gelato flavor all work well together in this dessert. My fave dessert of the night! TRY IT! 2. Cookies N' cream: narragansett creamery ricotta, chocolate biscotti- yummy! Tasted like an elevated cookies and cream ! We loved our experience! Hopefully when you visit here, you can enjoy it as much as we do year after year. I absolutely love this place. Another great dining experience at Giustos. I have to admit this is one of my favorite restaurants on the island. The food; amazing, the flavors amazing. I tried the Cacio de pepe fried potatoes and they were so good. Beautifully fried and the potatoes texture were light and pleasantly dried. For my main course I had the tonnorelli pasta with a green garlic sauce which is my favorite. Only available during early spring when the garlic is young and green. The flavor is mild not too garlicky with an herbal earthy flavor. One of the best pasta dishes I've had. Dessert was olive oil cake with a minty flavored gelato. Everything is made in house. Service is great, everyone is so welcoming and the vibe so calming . Can't say enough about this place. read more

The front of the house was split: Pretty bar with fantastic bartenders who were friendly, attentive pros - but an odd dining area set-up (and it wasn't spotless, either) with just a weird and not especially welcoming vibe from the staff in that area. The back of the house was on fire: man, these folks can _cook_. Everything we had (food and drinks) was very good or better. Here's what I'd do on a return: I'd sit at the bar and order food. I heard about this place via a few travel vlogs and am happy that I had the opportunity to try. The restaurant is super cozy on a strip in Newport. The ambiance was great as was the service. The food was light and delish. My only complaint was the limited dessert menu. All in all I will definitely be back. read more

We had some time to kill and stopped to sit at the outdoor bar and perhaps have a bite. We were in between service, so there was a fairly limited menu, but what we got was excellent. The polenta bites with mushrooms and cheese were very tasty, and the shrimp was fresh with a tangy cocktail sauce. They have a very nice menu of cocktails and cocktails, and a good selection of wines. The bartender was terrific, very engaging and helpful with some of the selections we made. read more

Hi Sarah, Although that's a nice, restrained, half-hearted apology, I do appreciate that you took the time to review this internally and discuss what was, in my view, a ridiculous, over-the-top response to what should have been a non issue. More to the point, however, the issue was not simply the decision itself, it was the manner in which it was handled. Your employee was dismissive, rude, and frankly arrogant while I calmly tried to explain what was clearly an obvious misunderstanding. That interaction, more than anything, is what elevated this from a minor inconvenience to something worth addressing publicly. That performance was her platform to stand by and justify her judgment. This in turn, is my platform, as a consumer, to express my dissatisfaction with how I was treated. Twenty years ago, that balance didn't really exist. Fortunately, it does now. It allows situations like this to be seen, considered, and hopefully learned from. I will continue to periodically update the public. You take care as well. read more

Went to this restaurant based on multiple recommendations and wanted to like it but the service level fell short. Had a lunch reservation, we requested to be sat at an outside table closer to the bar and we were told that could not be accommodated as the tables are assigned electronically and could not change. Asked the host to check again and was told that no changes could be made. This started off the lunch poorly. Our food was good, ordered the ravioli and a few other options and that accounted for the three stars, our server did his best but overall left disappointed. read more

One of the most amazing meals I've had in a long time. Some of the Newport restaurants rely on the ocean views or ambiance but Giusto has all of this and the freshest, most delicious food we've had. We are locals who stopped in by chance and tried out the chefs tasting menu. I am usually a picky eater so I was a bit nervous but every dish and every bite was so perfectly balanced and made with the highest quality ingredients! This was truly one of the most delicious meals we've had in a long time. The service was phenomenal and the waiter even suggested a wine pairing different from the one that I ordered and he was absolutely right! The bar staff created unique and innovative cocktails! I can't believe it took us so long to dine here. This is hands down the best food I've had in a very long time. Ambiance 10/10, service 10/10 and food 100/10. The street corn ravioli was out of this world. I also tried the peach & prosciutto bruschetta which was savory & sweet and just sooo good. I kept seeing this Bloody Mary type of cocktail going out so I had to order one. This drink was AMAZING. It was called "Caprese my name" which consisted of vodka, basil, tomato and get this...pasta water! Serve in a martini glass with a little mozzarella ball garnish. We waited 50 minutes for our pasta to come out (and were still waiting for the rest of our orders) -- not exactly the experience you want for an anniversary dinner with two babies. That's a long time to keep little ones entertained. The staff offered an "apology" cheese ball, which ended up becoming our son's dinner while we kept waiting for his pasta. They also gave us two extra shrimp cocktails as an apology -- woah! A friend had highly recommended this place, but unfortunately, our experience was a real disappointment. Dined here on our first night in Newport and had a really nice dining experience. Una was our server and she was very thorough. She was very patient with my indecision around what to drink... and allowed tastings and suggestions. Very nice looking restaurant with a wonderful view of the connected harbor. Too bad that it was super foggy and dreary that we missed what I'm sure would've been an awesome sunset experience. Apps: baked mussels- these were extremely small, but tasty enough fried calamari - such a different take in the coating, which was a squid ink tempura- interesting touch, but it worked very well as a base for the capers and cherry peppers My entree: prosciutto agnolotti- one of the best pasta dishes I've had, everything was perfect, except the portion size Dessert: zabaglione- some of the best gelati that I've had in my life! Giusto is so pretty and airy and modern, overlookimg the water with a nice breeze - a nice break from the touristy part of town. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was funny and charming. Split the tuna tartare, so bright and pretty with a green goddess theme and toasted quinoa. Then the suppli al telefono, fried and filled the warm runny cheese. Delicious! And then our favorite, the scallop carpaccio with miso and lots of umi. So good. A pretty place for a cocktail and light bar food at sunset. read more

This is a great place for all occasions: dates, meetings, Sunday Fun Days. We came on a Sunday afternoon and sat at the bar looking into the outside patio. Nick was our bartender and he was great! Found two seats at the bar on a rainy August evening. It's surprising how badly even adults dress going out to dinner but the restaurant is very pleasant and the bartender was terrific. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. We shared two appetizers (tuna tartare, Scotch egg) that were unusual and very delicious. Took a day trip to Newport to celebrate our anniversary and was excited to try Giusto's tasting menu! We made reservations for an early dinner on a Saturday and it was already pretty lively. We were seated in the covered patio with a nice view of the water. It was a lovely space away from the busyness of the main dining area, but the sun was pretty strong at times. The different courses came out at a good pace, with my favorite being the pasta. They also surprised us with complimentary mocktails for our anniversary, which was sweet of them. Pretty sure I've reviewed this restaurant a few times, but I just need to shout out that it's spectacular! Food presentation, quality ingredients and pairings are ALWAYS spot on. I've never had a bad thing at Giusto's. It's a lovely spot in the warmer months, but plan ahead and make a reservation or you'll be disappointed. I'm posting pics, couldn't tell you the specifics because we love ordering the Chef's Tasting, a 7 course meal including a few small "snack" plates, salad, pasta and dessert. We decided to visit for brunch and were immediately struck by the restaurant's beautiful interior, complete with a cozy enclosed patio warmed by heaters. Our server was friendly and gladly walked us through the menu offerings. The fluke crudo was adorned with delightful strawberry and balsamic accents, though the fluke itself had a very fishy aftertaste. The grilled octopus was one of our favorites of the meal, with its tender texture and the flavorful punch of butter beans, creating a well-balanced dish that left us impressed. We were lucky enough to attend a rehearsal dinner at Guisto, and the food and service were fantastic. The restaurant has a spacious bar with a great selection of liquors. The bartender made a great margarita. We were seated on the back patio, which had some clear tarps blocking the cold rainy weather. It was comfortable. The highlights of the food included: the fried ricotta balls, the grilled summer squash, the mushroom pasta, and the chicken. Came to have dinner at Giusto last Wednesday night after doing a ton of research on different restaurants in the area. I was only in town for one night so I wanted to pick a good spot and this place had stellar reviews and looked beautiful. The hostess was so sweet, I asked if I was underdressed wearing a silk cami and black jeans with heels and she laughed and said they had no dress code, which I appreciated and it made me more comfortable. I didn't pack any dresses, which had I known was what everyone woman was wearing I would have packed differently, first time Newport girl here. Anyways, I took a seat at the bar and every bartender made eye contact with me but nobody came over. I sat and sat and sat and started searching on my phone for another place to go because nobody was coming over to me and I thought it was pretty, unwelcoming if you will. Finally someone came over with a menu and I just had off vibes, I didn't want to stay. I ordered a shrimp cocktail because I knew it would come out quickly and I was starving, it came out within minutes and it was fresh and delicious. The menu otherwise didn't wow me, nothing was jumping out so I put my credit card down and was in and out of the place in 20 minutes. That was enough for me. Maybe it was an off night. read more

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Newport, absolutely no contest. Every time I go I get the tasting menu, which is 7 courses for $55. It's an absolute steal for what you get. The chef there is an actual genius. When I die, I want to be buried in their sweet corn ravioli. It's probably the best thing I have tasted all summer. Their caprese martini was also delicious, but honestly everything there is. With the tasting menu, you never know what you're going to get, yet I've never disliked a single item. My partner can be a little picky and even he loved each dish! The service was also amazing. Our waitress (I forget her name but I think it started with an M), frequently gave us clean plates and silverware. She was super friendly and attentive. The place is beautiful and situated on the new commercial wharf. My first visit with my friends were good back in Aug 2023. Didn't remember to write a review but what was memorable was the ricotta frittelle, scotch meatball, and the street corn ravioli. Today, we had time before our dinner reservation at another restaurant. So we decided to grab drinks at the bar since their online menu said they had a cream stout. Note that the menu isn't up to date and they don't carry all the drinks or the food you see there. Was a bit disappointed but we were there already. We sat at the beautiful bar (nice wrap around). Hugo served us and he made me a sweet mojito and a espresso martini for my 2nd round. My husband had the Me Duele La Cabeza. It was spicy in a good way if you like it spicy. Not a taste for everyone though. Husband asked him to make him something with gin and essences of pineapple. Whatever it was called, it was delicious (from last menu rotation). It had basil syrup, lemon, and almond liquor or so. Very unique mix. We weren't going to order food but still ended up getting the ricotta frittelle and its so good. Brunch outside on the deck with some unique flavors and look to their signature dishes made with squid ink. Especially unique and highly recommended are the calamari (made with squid ink) and Scottish meatball (with an egg in the middle with a crispy outside). Tonight, my friend and I had the tasting menu. The service was good and we both enjoyed a 0 alcohol cocktail. It was surprising to see glasses of wine were in the 16-20 dollar range. I would have had a glass if there was a lower price point. We decided to try the 55.00 tasting menu. The quantity was large, but I wish the food was better,and more consistent. Our first course was a ricotta ball. It was a good opening, smooth, creamy it paired well with the honey. Second course, was a stuffed date. It was good, but there were lots of similarities to the Ricotta Ball. Our third dish was a squash dish, the components were good, but it we felt there was way too much cumin, It overpowered the dish. Fourth dish continued the brown theme,with mushy brussel sprout caesar salad. We did not finish it. Our fifth and sixth course, also continued the brown theme, with a mushroom and sausage dish. It was similar to the previous dish and was ok. Pasta was cooked well. We had a brown, skate dish, with a very fishy crab sauce, over pickled onions, bread crumbs. The skate was stringy and the texture was off. We did not finish it. For dessert, continuing the brown theme, we were served Panettone, with ice cream, a lemon sauce, and raisins. It was ok. We did not finish it. We think we would have had a much better dinner if we did not have the tasting menu. The dishes would have been better if they were not paired together. There was too much similarity, many components were used over and over again, and the color for each dish was Brown. The restaurant, was clean, and well designed. With all of the lovely places to eat in Rhode Island, it will be a while before we come back. read more

The food here is really excellent. It's located in the trendiest part of Newport Beach right next to the ocean with an outdoor patio and fire pits at night. They're still getting into the swing of things with the summer season, but were able to make up with a lackluster service experience with some complementary appetizer and dessert. Phil, at the front of the house was really attentive and clearly a seasoned worker at the restaurant. Also, I would ask about the size of the pastas. We ordered what we thought was a pretty hearty pasta dish, and it came out totally nine pieces of pasta in total. read more
