Wow! This place is fantastic! On our last night in town, we ate dinner here. We arrived a little after 5pm and were told it was 60-90 minute wait, which we were fine with. We were able to get seats at the bar and hung out there until our table was ready at about the 90 min mark. The vibe of the building, views, quality of service and food/drinks were all top notch. I had a steak, and my girl, had the bolognese. Both were fantastic. This spot was the highlight of my 3 days trip. The next time I visit the area I'll definitely eat here again. I'd want to stay at the resort as well.

Mission ranch can't be missed when visiting Carmel! The atmosphere is so serene - the view of the ranch with the sheep, and the ocean peaking in the background is something really special. I came here fully acknowledging that dinner at Mission Ranch is likely more for the experience than the food itself. I was pleasantly surprised with what we ordered! The fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and carrot ginger soup being my favorite. We also got creme brûlée at the end and it was 10/10. Can't wait to come back for their cocktail hour!

We were looking forward to eating at Clint Eastwood's Mission Ranch Restaurant. It was a good experience, but not a great one. The restaurant itself is an old farmhouse, and lends itself to the shabby chic. The place is clean and well kept, but certainly not upscale. We ordered the pork ribs and the baked sea scallops. We try to keep reviews as positive as we can, so of the ribs we simply say: choose another option. Like, for instance, the baked sea scallops! Delicious in a wine based broth with bread soaking up the goodness! Well worth ordering! Service was very good, with a staff who are friendly and accurate. Except for a few special occasions, the restaurant does not take reservations, so plan to arrive at least a half hour before you want to eat. The ranch grounds are beautiful and interesting, and worth a quiet walk after dinner. We liked it (mostly), and we think you will as well.

Had a great classic evening dinner here. The ambiance and people watching is terrific-- food takes a back seat to the back drop in my opinion. The service was fine, drinks were ok, and food was good. You have to know what you're getting coming here-- more for the experience than the food. Timeless place!

    the bloody bastard.

Everyone must be lying or gaslighting themselves because first of all, the food is mid itself (at best, it's fancy golf course food), and secondly all of the reviews are majority of wine drinkers are just enjoying the beautiful scenery which consist of a nice patch of land by the beach with a pack of sheep + deer and a annoying seagull that will comes with a rude awakening to your food.

We recently stayed in the Farmhouse at Carmel Mission Ranch. I rented the entire Farmhouse, with 6 bedrooms each with its own bathroom. It was Perfect for our sibling reunion (with spouses). Really I can't tell you how perfect this was for us. The Farmhouse has a very large living room, with a fireplace and baby grand piano. I asked for a mini frig, which they provided. We ate several dinners at the restaurant, which were delicious and well prepared. And if you're guest at the Ranch (as we were), one gets priority seating at dinner. We walked a lot. Into town, over to the mouth of the river, and at Point Lobos. We're already talking about coming back for 2026. We recently stayed in the Farmhouse at Carmel Mission Ranch. My mom grew up watching Clint Eastwoods show & has never been to Carmel so it was her first time & I thought why not take her here to his mission ranch. Came on a Sunday for their brunch! We got there 30 minutes early and there was already a long line. Bathrooms are located directly where the line is near the entrance of the restaurant Staff seats guests groups at a time there was 2 ladies seating groups & they asked our preference inside or outside, we chose outside because it was a clear blue sky sunny day. Our waitress was lovely & after she took our orders for drinks water & mimosas we were up and grabbing our food. Inside a man was playing the piano. The view was breathtaking we had front row to the sheep grazing and even caught a few scratching their backs on the tree branches too cute. If you look passed the sheep you can see the beach. Stunning. We started at the dessert station to grab what we knew we could finish Then we made our way to the team of two gentlemen working side by side creating our omelettes, such hard workers and were really quick at taking omelette requests/cooking while keeping the line moving, at the end of the omelette station they're also cutting us our prime rib. Everything was tasty, they also have a fish/salad bar station & I was pretty stuffed but ended up getting a Greek salad at the end of my meal. By the time we left all the dessert was gone but staff was stocking more & there was still a long line outside. We will def be back for Sunday brunch when back in the area!

Saved from demolition and development in the 80s by Clint Eastwood and lovingly and gently remodeled, Mission Ranch has a homey, nostalgic feel. We ate in their casual restaurant that overlooks sheep and deer, in a field leading to the Pacific Ocean. The food was equally nostalgic with traditional entrees like prime rib, filet minion, rack of lamb, catch of the day, half a roast chicken, pasta and even cheesy bubbly potato skins. They don't take reservations, so we dropped in on a Friday and waited an hour for a table. The views are impressive, service is friendly, and dining here feels like time travel. Recommended.

Our first time visiting! We arrived on a Saturday around 4:45 to get in line for dinner service at 5. The line looked long, so I was worried, but when we put our name down they told us we'd be seated by 5:15, which was a nice surprise! We were seated right away, and the staff were very attentive. The complimentary garlic bread was fresh and delicious. We skipped appetizers and ordered our entrées quickly. My husband got the New York steak, and I had the fettuccine Alfredo. Unfortunately, it took a very long time for our food to come out. Tables seated after us were getting their meals before we did. Our server apologized and mentioned a large party slowing down the kitchen, but it was confusing since everyone around us seemed to get their food at a normal pace. When our dishes finally arrived, they were excellent. Definitely worth the wait. We shared the pecan pie for dessert, and both the pie and the ice cream were delicious. Overall, we didn't leave until after 7 because of the slow food service. Given the delay, it would have been nice to at least have dessert comped. Still, the food was great, the staff were kind, and the views are beautiful. We'd definitely come back!

We picked the perfect location to celebrate our 50th anniversary... Terrific location wonderful staff with a warm greeting! Our room felt like a cottage with that old school vibe with modern touches as well. Super relaxing environment and so fun to see the sheep grazing in the field. We enjoyed an excellent dinner as we requested a corner window of view away from the piano bar so we could enjoy a relaxing dinner ! We definitely wanna come back... Very relaxing and chill !

Visited on a late Friday afternoon and it was already very busy. Apparently, they don't take reservations and if you are not there before 5:00Pm and willing to wait until they start seating, it is unlikely you will be happy. Because we only wanted cocktails and appetizers, we were seated on the outside deck in a very, very small area dedicated to same. Here is a brief overview based on 1-5 stars with 5 being outstanding: Location = 5, meadow and ocean views. Facilities = 3, old, dated, worn out, but historical in nature. Service = 2, staff is a combination of inexperienced and angry. Food = 2, nothing unique or flavorful. Although I appreciate the story of Clint Eastwood's involvement in saving this historical site, I wish more effort had been made in making the business as exceptional as the location.

Prime rib, Filet Mignon, Fish Special, fettuccine Alfredo, New York steak

The setting is truly breathtakingly beautiful , the contrast with open meadow and the beach in the distance. Seeing the lambies resting in the beach field was amazing . We ate at the resturant and right from the start the hostesses were warm and hospitable . We were seated and greeted right away by our server Miriam . Miriam was very professional and attentive , she was keen on all the details and her service was impeccable . All of our food was perfection , we were a party of 5 and ordered a wide range of dishes . The prime rib was delicious as well as the fish of the day and the pasta Alfredo . We also indulged in dessert afterwards even though we were full . Overall , the evening was a complete success and I would enjoy to visit again !

Been seeing this come up on my feed a lot so decided to take a trip to Carmel to try it out. The views are nice. The vibe is nice and calm not loud. Plan ahead if it's windy. We ordered a lot of things to try out, but by far the highlight was a pecan pie. The chowder was good and also the scallops and risotto one thing I didn't care for was the Raggu as it was a very bland, not even the pasta tasted like salt. Definitely come here for the vibes. Service was also very welcoming and great.its a 3.5 for me

Cute sheep in the background. The black one is Dublin.

This place is magical. I have so many good things to say about the Jewel in the Forest and Sofanya. I feel connected to them now as they are a part of my story, and I'm so grateful for that! On October 1st, I married my best friend in a small 10 person ceremony at the Jewel in the Forest. It was the most perfect day of my life, and there could not have been a better place for it. We rented out all 4 of the cabins on property to accommodate all of our guests. That allowed us to stay together and bond through the whole experience, while still providing ample privacy and sleeping space for our guests The Dome House is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed in my life. From the skylights that allow you a peek of the tops of the redwood trees, to the eclectic and beautiful furniture and decorations, to the wood burning heater, topped off by Sofanya's amazing artwork, it is truly an immersive experience. Sofanya provides games, movies, books, musical instruments, and a full kitchen. Everything you need for the perfect escape. We cut our cake and drank champagne as a group of about 12 in the living space comfortably. Most of our guests stayed at the Jasmine house, which has 3 private rooms and a large living space where we all enjoyed dinner the night before the ceremony. Sofanya even strung up the cutest string lights on the patio for us so we could enjoy the outside space as well. My parents stayed in the adorable Calla Lily cabin, which is perfect for a couple or small family. It is cozy and charming. Our photographer stayed up in the adorable Lotus Blossum, which had the most spectacular windows and a one of a kind outside bathroom. So cool! We held our ceremony near the stream amongst the redwoods. It was breathtaking. Overall, the space was beyond perfect for what we needed. Each of the cabins are unique and have so much character. I recommend that EVERYONE visit and escape from reality to this magical place at some point in your life. You won't regret it. Now, I have to say a few things about Sofanya. She is wonderful! She really went above and beyond making sure our wedding was perfect. She hung the aforementioned lights for me, provided several bouquets around the property, received packages with things for my wedding for me ahead of time, and ensured everyone's comfort the whole stay. Thank you so much for all you did to make my wedding truly perfect Sofanya.

I had my photographer's assistant try to re do it to make it look better. My bridesmaids were picking out greenery from their bouquets because the flowers looked so bad. She did do 3 large arrangements for dinner which I liked (minus some of the flower colors) but thats all I can say I liked. I hated the flowers so much - we didn't use any flowers in ANY photos. Except me walking down the aisle and my bridesmaids. I didn't want pink and purple flowers in my wedding photos. I asked for a refund but Melody said no. Of course. Didn't think she would say yes. I know COVID had a part in florals and what not, melody did let me know smilax was frozen over - which I had asked another florist and they said they can get it. If Melody would've communicated that hey I went to market and they dont have the colors you want I would've been sad but understood and switched the plan within a couple of hours. I am open to that and understand COVID and Mothers day weekend. I get it but there was NO communication. Honestly a horrible experience in which so much money was spent. I believe the tab was around $4,500.00. Flowers was the one thing I cared about to help set the tone of a soft and romantic wedding and she completely failed to do that as well - had a horrible attitude with me the entire time. Melody can do nice arrangements, dont get me wrong. They were arranged nice but lacked what I asked for. I am a pretty easy going person and I'm matter of fact, and show pictures to confirm what I want so I wont be disappointed. I know there's room for error and I get that, we're human but this was way too much disappointment. Do not hire any florist for a big event without seeing a floral mock up! Huge lesson learned.

They've designed their hotel to look and feel like a little oasis. The intention was effective because it did feel like an enclosed paradise, quiet and pleasing to the eye. Our service during our drinks and pizza at their cafe and during breakfast time (included in our package) was excellent and staff were really friendly! Complimentary bubbles upon arrival which i love! Dog blankets outside. Good looking bathrooms. Aesthetically pleasing place. Robes and slippers in rooms. Luxurious sheets. My husband didn't love the bed but perhaps he just has a sensitive preference for his back. the rooms were swanky but small but we didn't mind it for 2 nights only. we spent a lot of time enjoying the nice weather outside. Walking distance to many places in downtown and parking at the hotel was included in pricing.

Pretty unhappy with our short experience…read more The hotel is pretty and the rooms luxurious, however, the guest experience did not match my expectations. One of the more expensive rooms on property, the courtyard 'suite,' is adjacent to the lounge area, so we heard conversation right outside our window until after 10pm. There was no effort to ask the group to move to another spot that would have been less disruptive, despite my ask to the front desk. We were charged $50 extra per child for our family of 2 adults and 2 children for a suite that has two rooms and two king beds. They have 4 charging stations for EV's, however parking is not enforced. There were non EV vehicles parked in those spaces the entirety of brief stay, so unfortunately we were inconvenienced by not being able to charge at a planned stopping point on our road trip. Next time I come to Carmel I'll be researching alternatives.
