Bad Services !!! Been taking my son, since he was two years old, now he is nine both be getting haircuts for very long time. It was OK. The past couple of times been getting attitude from Snow. I came here as my go to shop was not open. I called to make an appointment and when I arrived I still had to wait 30 mins. They were busy!!! Why have an appointment if I'm going to have to wait that long anyway. From what I saw, it was crowded and others were waiting inside the store. I've been to a lot of places and I'm pretty sure that customers aren't supposed to be waiting around inside the store, so I went outside to wait. Friendly staff but very expensive. I usually get the same haircut next door for less and no wait. Pros -Haircut was clean Cons -Wait time for having an appointment -Social distancing might have been a bit questionable -customers getting their mustache shaved with their masks off (I know how do you shave with a mask on) ... it made me a bit uncomfortable as there's not much air circulation in the store. Definitely one of my favorites spots for a haircut , they do clean fades and tapers. I usually go with a low skin/0 fade. Been going here for more than 10 years and the cuts are pretty consistent no matter who you get as your barber. They are open 7 days a week and typically have games on during the weekends. Drop ins are welcomed, but you can certainly call in ahead of time to get on a waiting list to reduce your wait time if you're in a hurry. The staff is super friendly and prices are super reasonable (so I tip generously). Definitely try them out if you're looking for a good local barber! read more

Been procrastinating on writing a review for this place although I've been coming here for over 2 years now. Why? Because this place is BUSY as it is and I don't like disclosing my secrets. There has probably been only 2 occasions when I didn't have to wait. Sometimes the wait can be 1+hrs and there's no appts taken. There are only about 10 seats in the waiting area so my routine used to be: jot my name down and browse the aisles at Fresh & Easy (which sounds like a whorehouse btw). Now that the whorehouse closed next door, I am left trying to kill time by browsing IG, FB, and catching up on my games on WWF. I never request any particular barber because I've pretty much used every one of them and they are all legit. All of them cut very consistently and all take their time to give you a great cut. Steve the owner is Cambodian and his workers are either related or referred to by family members. The other ladies speak VN and all quite nice. They take credit cards but prefer cash. Cuts are either $18 or $19 and has been charged both so depends on the barber and how they feel that day. LOL. If you do charge your cut, make sure you bring cash for the tip as that isn't credit cardable (yes i made that word up). Not sure why but after my haircut the song "Staying Alive" from Saturday Night Fever always plays in my head. That's the feeling I get and now I just shared two secrets with you in one review. read more

I asked for a simple haircut: shaved sides, keep edges clean, don't trim the top. The dude did me dirty. He did a hack up job in as fast as time as possible, barely shaved my head at all, and left a collection of razor burns. I had him redo the sides near the division because there were many long hairs left, multiple times, and he still didn't do the job right. Aside from cutting my hair and doing an awesome job they cut my 4 month old sons hair and AGAIN did a perfect job. There is no task this barber shop can't accomplish. Unfortunately I don't know many of the newer barbers, but I know Steve likes quality and wouldn't hire anyone who does a bad job. If you go on the weekends make sure to get there early and sign in because that is what I feel like is their busiest days for sure. You may have to sit around and wait for a little bit if you get there after they have already been open. It fills up pretty quickly, but there are plenty of seats inside to accommodate most people. So far I have not had anyone cut my hair that hasn't done a good job there. They all do fantastic work and take their time to make sure the cut you want is the cut you get. Everyone is super friendly and nice and makes conversation with you to make you feel comfortable. I have 2 favorites here that they do. 1) I like at the end of the cut they take a hose of a vacuum and run it through your hair collecting the really loose hairs throughout. and 2) I like how they use a straight edge to line you up for the finishing touches. My man comes here to get faded. After moving from the valley to the bay he was in search of someone who could keep up his fade. Being that he is so picky with his hair he wasn't happy with anywhere he had gone since we moved here. He would have to wait until we went home for the weekend to get a cut from his usual barbershop which I thought was ridiculous. After asking around to several of my coworkers we were recommend this shop for a good fade. After the first time here he was hooked and even after moving farther up north would frequently drive about 45minutes to come get his hair did. I've been to a lot of barber shops since I've chopped all my hair off but this barber shop tops all of them! Love the service and the vibe here. When you walk in they have a little tablet by the door where you can add your name to the list. Be prepared to wait though cuz there are always a lot of people here who come to get their hair cut. I don't blame em though. This place is amazing. I've come here so many times not knowing what kind of style that I wanted but whenever I leave I'm always satisfied. I think, had we not walked in but made an appointment with one of the owners the boy and my experience would have been better with Mission. Or certainly quicker. We walked in and younger gentleman waved the hunny into his chair. He then proceeded to commence with a haircut that lasted, literally over an hour. He seemed much newer to the practice and the cut was only $17 and washed out to look fine. But an hour? Well then. I think most of the catch was that he used hand scissors instead of an electric shaver. What my friend Zev (Earlier review of Xcelerate) did in 20 minutes, took the hand scissors and this very nice but very focused gentleman an 1:15. While we might come back as the haircut was rather nice and it did cost significantly less at the barber shop than at an SF salon we'd probably go with one of the more old school barbers. Just simply to get us out before 45min has gone by. read more

OK, it's not technically a "new" shop, as it's been around for years, but Steve is the new owner and he's updating the old place. She saw his sandwich board and sent me there. Thanks, honey! Steve runs the successful Serra Barber Shop in Milpitas, popular with the local police department as a place to get a solid men's haircut. No messing around, no permanents, no frosted tips, just a good old fashioned haircut. This shop is his latest project. He is in the process of training the staff here to his rigorous standards, which are quite high. You see, Steve was the barber for the Khmer Rouge! OK, that sounds weird. He wasn't involved in Pol Pot's government or the genocide that it brought to Cambodia, but he survived the killing fields by cutting hair for the troops that ravaged his homeland. Basically, his skill with a pair of manual clippers made the difference between life and death for him. It's a hell of a story to hear while you're getting a haircut! Anyway, Steve loves cutting hair. It's a career that has brought him fortune and saved his life. His goal is to get people away from the $7 haircut, which is a good idea. He only charges $16 for a standard men's haircut, which is very reasonable, and you feel as if somebody actually cares about your hair. It's worth the extra couple bucks. So there you have it.
