Don't bother. We made an appointment, received a million reminder texts and then my husband and son showed up, stuck waiting 30 minutes and the guy scheduled was no show. Xquisite Barbershop is a new young hip barbershop in Willow Glen. Heavy rap videos on the TV, classic barber chairs, leather couch, and craftsman tool chests for stations gives the shop a fresh and classic vibe. Juan, the owner, born and raised in San Jose greets at the door. I made an appointment for the same day and was seated close to my time. Juan listened to what I wanted (nothing fancy, for me, but others in the shop were getting very sharp cuts!) The music, conversation and environment gave me a youthful feel and a great haircut. I am not a customer of Xquisite Barbershop. AND I WOULD NEVER BE!!! Why you ask? I live in Willow Glen and walk Brace Avenue and nearby Lincoln Avenue often. Dozens and dozens of times I have heard loud music playing. The music is so loud as too frighten folks. If that was the worst of it, I guess it would be okay. But, worse yet, dozens and dozens of time the acrid smell of marijuana smoke plumes emanate from staff and/or customers smoking marijuana on the sidewalk in front of the shop. SMOKING MARIJUANA IN A PUBLIC PLACE IS ILLEGAL IN SAN JOSE. It is time for this to stop!!!! read more

Walked into the shop early in the morning and spoke to Chivo as he was giving another client a haircut. I asked if might have time for a drop in for my son (8). He check his schedule and said he had time in 45 minutes. Came back, my son hoped on the chair and told Chivo what he wanted, and Chivo delivered. To say my son was happy would be an understatement. Never get a cut here especially by Brandon paid 50 bucks for a cut and a beard cut and bro didn't even cut the beard right didn't line up my mustache didn't even shape up my hair. Just lined me up and took for ever to do that. Didn't line me up right had to have my girl look at it and have him fix it. A few disappointments and things they could do better, cleanliness, professionalism. There was hair all over the place. Well an employee was laying back on his phone and another drinking on the job and smoking tree. If you have down time, clean up. Super unprofessional. He also made an appointment with one person and they didn't show, so he had another guy do it that was free. Come on guys your better than this. Juan is cool, but he fucked up my hair and how I wanted it to be. I went from having waves to growing my hair out, long curly hair. Every time id ask for a taper and just a line up. Its like the more and more I went to him the more he cut some of my hair off my sides so now I have to go through the process of growing my sides back out. Its just irritating because this is exactly what I wanted to avoid when growing my hair back out. I hate when barbers start to do their own thing. I also realize its better to book with him in the mid afternoon because almost every time I went to him in the morning or when he first opened he didn't do that good with my haircut. It was a hit and miss, I been going to him for like a year now atp. If you look at the pic though you can see how all that hair is cut off. I legit just wanted him to line me up each time and I said not to touch any of the hair on my head because I'm growing my hair back out and I didn't want half of my hair missing like that. read more

I highly recommend this barbershop. My 7 year old son used to cry any time I told him he needed a haircut because he didn't like the way anyone cut it. I searched and searched on instagram until I found a barber that looked like they cut hair the way my son likes it. I took him to two places, and he did not like them so I said we would try one more (Xquizite) He was hesitant of course, but I promised him he would like it. We get there and it's "the barbershop experience" he wanted. Young guys, music playing, conversations amongst everyone and most important to me as a mom, Juan tried to converse with my son. It's kind of hard to talk to kids when you don't know them, but Juan did talk to him and my son later told me that he liked that because other barbers he's been to hadn't done that. Sometimes it's the littlest thing like a conversation that really helps the customer service. Now my son and his dad both go to Juan and my nephew really likes Juan's work so we may start taking a third person to this barbershop. read more

To Juan the owner. Being a busy barbershop is one thing. It's another thing to have an appointment with the owner and him still taking another client ahead of you and asking everyone else in the shop to take YOUR client when you haven't even started cutting the dude lol. Then having your client respond for you on a yelp review and having the audacity to say they "allowed" my son to be cut before them when they were clearly the walk in?! Wow! What kind of business owner does that?! And after acting like you were going to take my son you ask again another barber to take my son instead while he was in the middle of cutting someone else and therefore asking us to wait 20 minutes, knowing it would have been well over. You should have just admitted you were wrong as an owner for doing something foul like that knowing you wouldn't do that to a grown man but since it was a mother and her 3 yr old you were pushing off it was easy. Now you got another bad review. Instead of having your client respond for you, have them write a good review for your shop cus you clearly lacking those. Take this L and do better my guy. read more
