Not impressed -- especially for $50. It feels like corners were cut and the job just wasn't done thoroughly. Inside, the cleaning was minimal at best. Dust and dirt are still sitting in the vents, center console, cup holders, and floor mats. The interior looked like it was barely wiped down. Outside wasn't much better. The wheels still had gunk on the spokes, and the tire shine was sprayed onto the trim without being wiped off. The inside edges of the doors (where the door meets the frame) were left dirty, and leaves were still sitting under the hood near the windshield wipers. The pricing also doesn't quite make sense to me. The "Gold Package" is $40 for most cars and $50 for SUVs. I drive a Subaru Forester, which is on the small side -- no third row, no extra-large interior -- but it's still charged as if it's a big SUV. That feels off, especially considering the level of detail that was missed.

The interior of the vehicle was delivered in the same condition, completely dirty.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I paid for the Gold Car Wash at this Shell location which clearly states that interior and exterior cleaning is included. What I received was nothing short of a complete scam. My car was handed back to me exactly the same way I brought it in. They didn't even bother to vacuum properly -- the seats and carpets were still covered in dog hair, the floor mats were filthy, and every door panel and cup holder compartment was still dirty. They didn't wipe anything, didn't clean anything, and didn't even remove the small trash that was inside the car. It was painfully obvious that no interior cleaning was done at all. I essentially paid for a full service and got zero interior wash, not even the basics. This place is either completely negligent or intentionally ripping people off. Do yourself a favor and avoid this car wash at all costs. There are plenty of other places in San Diego that actually respect customers and deliver what they promise. This Shell car wash is absolutely not one of them.

Having to drop my fuel tank during open hours. Hired a mechanic to drop the tank they're going to tow it.

Poor lighting light not working at the pump negligence not meeting the criteria of safety and hazard because the light at the pump was not working and the wrong pump was a fuel was in my tank and I had to hire a mobile mechanic to drop my tank and now they want to tow me. This is a civil matter

I used to come here often but the last 2 times I've come the quality of service is appalling. I understand it's on the cheaper side, but if they're saying that they are going to clean it, it should be done. I took it there yesterday for the $39.99 wash and I left looking like my car had not even been cleaned. They did not clean the inside of the back window at all and the windows they did clean they did with a soaking wet rag (I was watching him) and it left dirty steak/water rag marks all over the windows. The interior looked as though it hadn't been cleaned at all. I guess I'll have to find a new spot.

Armor all the tires and trim please!

5 stars for the car wash! They always do a great job and offer a nice menu of services to customize the services you're looking for. I get the gold wash + external armor all for all the outside trim. I love that it's a hand wash vs running thru a machine with the crazy flappers hitting your car all over. Convenient location between the 15 and 163. They have plenty of seating to chill while you wait for your car. The service station has a mini mart for snacks and beverages as well as the fragrance accessories for your car.

Strong 4.0 for the car wash alone. Highly recommend getting the hand wash, especially for SUVs. $40 and for the most part worth every penny when it comes to time and quality. I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 30 minutes for my vehicle to be ready. Always looks really clean when done and the folks working always seem to have a great attitude. They also give a military/veterans discount as well.

See the glass - they half asses the supposed "hand washed"

Came In to get a car wash. My car is filled with sands, and only now I find the time to get them cleaned. I was in the cashier booth. I asked the cashier Which one would he recommended he was saying just get the regular ones. A patron there was recommended the hand wash one for his business. After he step out, the cashier went on recommended the regular one being it's the same. I said I have sand in my car... so it's best for the hand wash one. But I totally appreciated his honestly and not try to oversell it to the women population So the cashier deserve a 5 stars!! When they call me to say my car is ready. I look directly at my trunk and see the sands still where it left itself. I was ticked off and said I specifically asked to get the sand clean because of the "hand wash" $53.99?! I had to drive to the other side and had them redo it, where they missed in the first place?!! Driving a Prius is no lesser than driving an Audi. Especially I am paying a higher price. I had a need to get it clean. Well it is what it is in the U.S. on the other side of the border will definitely treat my car more fairly then the washer in this car wash place. And they just forfeited a $5 tip!

You get what you pay for, and for $30 my SUV came out looking much nicer than when it arrived. They did a good job on the tires and exterior. Was every single spot removed? No. Could more attention have been paid to the interior? Sure. But c'mon, $30 to avoid auto car wash damage and didn't have to do anything myself or pay a lot more/wait a lot more at a higher end detailing spot. It took about 45 min instead of the 20-30 stated, no biggie. Price to quality ratio was fine & location works for me so will be back.

    Didn't wipe down middle console

I paid $32 for them to wash my car. They did not wash the exterior well. The lady study checked me in said they would remove some stains on the exterior. I admit my car was dirty, but they simply washed exterior and vacuumed. They didn't even bother to wipe down the interior. I had to wash the interior of my car after paying them to do so and wasting an hour. I'm never coming back here. Yo sure better off driving your car through a car washing machine for 1/3 of the price.

I always bring my car here. They have consistently been the most thorough with cleaning it. They don't use wax though.

I had a great experience with Alex at Value Auto Repair. I originally reached out through Yelp, and he was responsive and answered all of my questions. His pricing was significantly better than what the dealership quoted me, but what really stood out wasn't just the price--it was his honesty. I came in with a humming noise that I believed was a bad wheel bearing but was unsure. Alex was upfront from the beginning after making the same diagnosis and even encouraged me to get quotes from other mechanics if it made me feel more comfortable so I could make sure I was getting a fair deal. That kind of confidence and transparency is hard to find. When I arrived, he was able to get my car in within about 30 minutes to diagnose it. While the part was being delivered, I went to lunch, and once I came back, he had the wheel bearing replaced in about 45 minutes. Before I left, he took the time to show me both the old and new wheel bearings, explaining how they worked and letting me hear and feel the difference. I really appreciated him taking the time to educate me instead of just handing me a bill. One thing I noticed while I was waiting was how many customers came in who clearly knew Alex. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to see him, several appeared to be repeat customers, and there was an obvious level of trust between them. After my own experience, I completely understand why. Alex also has a great sense of humor, which made the whole experience much less stressful. Most importantly, the humming noise is completely gone, and my car drives perfectly again. If you're looking for an honest, knowledgeable mechanic who charges fair prices and genuinely cares about his customers, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alex and Value Auto Repair. I know I'll definitely be back.

It did take some time before they were able to get to my vehicle, although I understand they were busy and had other cars they were working on. They also had to spend additional time tracking down what turned out to be two separate leaks. My biggest concern was the cost of the repairs that were recommended. The prices quoted for some of the repairs seemed significantly higher than what I was expecting, and I ultimately felt that the recommended work was too expensive for me to move forward with. They charged a $130 diagnostic fee, which I was completely fine with. The next day, they said they needed to reset the computer for $390. Since I had already paid for the diagnostic and was told it would go toward the repair, I agreed. The following day, I was told they couldn't reset it and that I'd need a new module for $3,468.54. I declined and decided to get a second opinion from our regular mechanic. I still paid the $390 plus a $13.65 service charge, which I later found out was a credit card fee. The next day, I took the vehicle to our regular mechanic. Within 2 hours, they cleared the stored codes and the vehicle was ready, total cost: $120. No waiting days, no module replacement, and no unnecessary upsell. I waited a couple of weeks before writing this review to make sure the issue didn't come back, and also spoke with Barry to see if anything could be done about the $403.65 I paid. I felt it was unfair to be charged for a service that ultimately wasn't completed. I would've been completely fine just paying the $130 diagnostic fee. Unfortunately, he declined, stating the charge was for their time. I understand time was spent, but from a business standpoint, I wouldn't feel right charging a client for a repair that wasn't successfully completed, especially when the vehicle left in the same condition it arrived. Because of this experience, I wouldn't return or recommend this shop to others. I think it's important for people to know that you may end up paying for work that doesn't actually resolve the issue.
