There's a few bottle shops that I go to when I want the good stuff. And while it may not be the closest shop to me, it is near Gold Road Brewery. So whenever I go that always makes a nice excuse as to stopping by here and seeing what's on the shelf. So what is on the shelf? Well, this bottle shop carries a lot of high end bottles of craft beer, wine and other spirits. The neat aspect is that they know what they're talking about and if you come in with some very specific request for a bottle, chances are they'll know what you're talking about, if not be able to hook you up with it with no problem. The prices are also very cheap. Probably one of the cheaper places to pick up those bottles when you compare it to other shops. So hey, it's a nice thing to not be charged for the convenience of going into a good looking bottle shop. read more

I really appreciate the fact that everyone here seems to actually know what they are talking about and not BS you. The big difference maker here is the premium offerings. Great selection and super cheap prices, but I can only speak for the vodka section because that's all I hit. They had a variety of brands and flavors, some things I'd never seen even at the huge liquor stores. They had my new fav polish vodka luksusowa, $10 in a gift set w 4 shot glasses. Wow! This store has such a great selection of quality alcohol! Mission Wine & Spirits is THE store I come to when I am looking for a gift. Why? They have the largest selection of Scotch and Whiskey I've seen in any other store. They have a large aisle of it and I see varieties and brands that I have never seen anywhere else. The really have bottles at ALL price ranges so there's not excuse not to leave with something. I also find their staff to be friendly and helpful, so they are great when I have zillions of questions. Shopping here is always a fun experience since there's just so much great stuff to look at and ponder. HORRIBLE! They lie to you and overcharge as if you're not going to realize. I called in advance asking how much a certain brand/bottle was, and they told me to check the website. So I check the website and it gives a price. When I go, they charge me $30 extra. At first, I didn't realize it because I was in a hurry and when I went back to tell them they had made a mistake, the owner Sarkis, was RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, and incapable of conducting business. Not once did he say sorry or admit that he in fact overcharged. Let's just say be very careful when buying their products because they overcharge and are sketchy. read more

I, at first, had a hard time calling the 2 stores in Glendale and the store in Pasadena, so I sent an e-mail. I was answered by a really nice and helpful manager named Ari, from Pasadena. Apparently 1 store in Glendale is under remodel and the 3 stores were all having phone problems. An item I wanted that was on sale would not be available for that price if I had to wait until that Wednesday to be able to come in. But Ari notified the 2 employees at the Glendale Ave. store and told them to honor the price for me. He really made sure that I was taken care of and would e-mail me back telling me not to worry and I would be taken care of. That, as I told Ari, is great customer service. This store truly is as good as it gets. So close to my old place that i use to ride my bike down here to pick up a little libation. I love the selection of beers and at much lower prices than anywhere else too. Which means I can buy more, I like to think of myself as less of an alcoholic and more of an economy flooder. The liquor and wine selection are equally amazing. I love coming in here and seeing what is new and what I may have missed the time before. The guys that work here are friendly and are very helpful and knowledgeable in regards to helping me pick out a smoky rye. I love this place and now that I live in a different town, I will make the half hour to hour trek, depending on traffic, to stock up on all my favorites. Remarkable selection here with great prices. If you are a single malt scotch fan, I guarantee that this place will become a mainstay. I'm not talking, like, Glenfiddich 12. I'm talking just about every scotch younger than 20 years you can think of (Bunnahabhain 18, yeah, we've got that). Read about a few good malts before you go: they will probably have all of them. Making a choice is never easy here! The only reason for why Mission gets 4 stars instead of 5 is only by way of comparison to Remedy liquors in La Canada and K&L Wine Merchants in Hollywood: both of those stores typically have people working who know and love spirits, whereas the vibe at mission feels more like a grocery store: bring your commodities to the counter and someone will more or less dispassionately ring you up. If you know what you're buying, no issue. But, if you want a personalized recommendation, you might feel a little thrown into the deep end here and end up walking out with a bottle of what you'd ordinarily buy at BevMo (or *gasp* Ralph's), which would be a real shame. read more

I usually come to Mission when I want to buy alcohol. Their customer service really depends on who is working that day. Sometimes you get lucky and you meet really helpful staff members and sometimes you don't. For the most part, I think their prices are reasonable. Their other Glendale location is better because it's bigger and they have more options. This location is closer to where I live so I usually end up here. Last time I was here I tried one of their Saki's that they recommended which was called Kikusui Junmai Ginjo and it was pretty good. read more

This is probably the best cognac place in greater LA with the lowest prices. I have a very good taste in cognac and I recommend you give Ararat a try. It is much smoother than Hennessy and other French cognacs out there. Upon further reading about Ararat's history, my wife and I fell in love with this cognac.
