Terrible place, food was nasty and under cooked. The lady kept telling me about a cop driving around for no reason.

We are talking about great execution on basic french dishes here with excellent service on the commons. It's also the most elegant of the restaurants in the commons in my opinion. None are particularly elegant, but Cent-Dix feels the nicest. A must get is the beef tartare. It's so good, it's better than many tartare's I've had in france. Just hands down an easy winner. To cut it's richness I think you should get the Frisee aux Lardons. No matter the table size this is a perfect salad. You can always get more salads or greens, but if the table size is 2 or 6, everyone will like this. The fat, acid, bitterness is perfect. Steak frites are amazing, but even better is the cote de bouef on Saturdays. Either way you won't go wrong, but this restaurant does steak so well, and has good wines to pair with the steak. I've personally never had room for dessert, but everyone always orders it and I have some. It's good, but my favorite is that the espresso machine is always running after dinner for a nice pick me up before my walk on the commons!

I came with a friend and we tried the pear appetizer, mussels, leek and gruyere tart, and the ricotta gnocchi. Honestly, everything was really good. The gnocchi was pillowy and the tart did not have a soggy bottom. For dessert we tried the Pear frangipane which was also good. Quite a strong almond flavor and a little on the sweet side. Overall very good, I would recommend!

Each week they send out an email listing that week's menu. You simply email or call with your order and then pick it up at one of several CNY locations. Everything was well made, tasty and made us feel like we were eating at an upscale restaurant in our own home. Put on some quiet music on Spotify, opened a bottle of wine, and we were set. I've had several amazing meals there, but I was especially delighted that they were open on Thanksgiving. We often host big friendsgivings, but it just wasn't happening this year, and we were delighted to have some other options for me, my partner, and my partner's mother. Dinner started off with, always, their cheese souffle spread and house-made crackers. The first course had several choices, including an awesome gnocchi, with perfect texture and potato flavor; meatballs with risotto, also tasty; and lobster chowder, which got raves although I didn't try it. The salad that followed was nice. The main course included tender and juicy turkey, a mind-blowing potato dauphinoise, dressing, a smallish helping of green beans, and further vegetables and sides. We all took home at least another meal's worth of leftovers from the supper, and I'm a hearty eater. The deserts were similarly wonderful, including a very flavorful pumpkin cake and two other options. The Horned Dorset always delivers[*], but I especially appreciated the staff being willing to work on a holiday to provide us with such a lovely dinner. And super-attentive service to a room full of happy diners. [*] And they deliver in another way -- I have not had their to-go meals, but my partner raves about them.

The food was very good. Solid. If I could give it 4.5 stars I would. I had a short rib bolognese dish... it had house made egg noodles in it. The sauce was so so excellent and the beef was superb. I found the egg pasta a bit starchy, maybe overcooked? My husband had the steak frites. It came out undercooked and without his requested sauce accompaniment. The server was extremely polite and expedient about correcting the dish and he did enjoy it. The fries were delicious and the sauce really made the dish shine. (I think he got the herbed garlic butter). I enjoyed my old fashioned cocktail and my wine was delicious. Overall a very nice experience and we will be going back.

We had drinks by the fireplace (during the winter) before being seated for dinner. The restaurant is right on the river so the views were amazing. For dinner we had the steak frites, Bourgogne spatzle, and traditional thin crust flatbread. The stead was excellent, but cooked a little under what I requested, not complaining, just giving a heads up. The spatzle was spot on. The flatbread was a little underwhelming for me. The bacon was under for my liking and lacked some flavor. The drinks were amazing and I would definitely go back.

One orders at the counter, however, the dishes are brought to the table. The cashier was also the server, but I thought perhaps she was also the co-owner. [I didn't ask her for the story, but when I asked about the Vivian Gray Lotus and Rose soap in the bathroom, she said she had bought like a case of the German soap when she saw it on sale. (I'm super jealous because the soap is absolutely divine smelling - and rose is one of my favorite scents.)] Hubby started out with the French onion soup. He was in love. The good thing was I didn't taste any alcohol in it (which is good because not only are we teetotalers, but we can't cook with alcohol, either), but I thought the broth was fairly one dimensional, not too far above just bouillon. The onions were not sufficiently caramelized, either, in my opinion. (I make good French onion soup - and so I expect a chef's version of it to be better than mine.) Hubby liked that the cheese was wrapped around the piece of baguette floating on top. He then had the [Norwegian?] salmon on a bagel, which had quite a few capers on top. Again, he was in love - salmon, bagel, cream cheese, what's not to? I, too, thought it was a wonderful dish. I had ratatouille, which contained kalamatas. I've never heard of olives in ratatouille, but it was quite delicious as well, albeit a bit oily. The presentation was very nice as well. The eggplant was so tender it was almost melted, and the tomatoes, onions, etc. were nicely seasoned and was very enjoyable. I used baguette pieces to eat most of the dish up with. The dish is piping hot and, as the server warned, there may or may not be pits in the olives (there were none in mine), so beware! There is no tap water served and, according to a local, this is a good thing since, again according to her, Honesdale has the US's 4th worst tapwater in the nation. So we chose San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa (hubby) and a nice Sarasota sparkling (which may or may not be bottled right there in Pennsylvania). For dessert (to go; we were too full!), hubby got a delightful almond cake of some sort; I did not have the presence of mind to snap a photo of it before he devoured it (after we got home). He was generous, however, and gave me a bite - and it was so delightful and creamy and almondy. A few days later, I finally ate the cranberry muffin - and absolute perfection. Moist, wonderful, fresh cranberries. And despite the fresh cranberries, especially those on top, not one bitter one to be found. What's wonderful, too, are the prices. So, so, so, and did I say so reasonable?!?!? A delightful, charming place and, God willing, we will be able to go more frequently.

The arch-roofed dining room is absolutely charming, with whimsical colorful chandeliers and a warmth that pulls you right in. There's also a gorgeous globe-lit back patio that looks like it's seen some unforgettable evenings. BYOB at a restaurant this good? Yes. Take advantage of it. The menu is fixed-price, four courses with three options each -- simple, elegant, and unpretentious. Cash discount in March is a nice bonus too. Now the food -- where do I start. The **Roasted Candied Beets Carpaccio** was visually stunning and tasted even better. Blood Orange Balsamic Vinaigrette, Burrata, Prosciutto -- every flavor had its own moment. The **Crab Cake** was loaded with fresh, quality crab -- the chive oil pairing was spot on. But the showstopper? **Venison Wellington.** Tender, perfectly seasoned, and not something you see on many menus. I would order it again without hesitation. Finished with a peanut butter, chocolate and banana dessert paired with an espresso -- an absolutely perfect ending. The staff was warm, attentive, and somehow never made you feel rushed or hovered over. That's a gift. Easily one of the best dining experiences I've had. Highly recommend -- just bring your favorite bottle and your appetite.
