Staff and dentist were very nice. However I went with tooth pain and had to get a crown. Then the tooth pain did not go away. They said it must be a different tooth. Who does that? Wanted check for another tooth, and maybe I'd need a root canal. ah no. Not going through that on a maybe. Messing one up was enough. I decided to deal with it until I could find another dentist. Took pain pills, antibiotics and ora-gel on vacation with me for 2 weeks. Pain started to subside and finally went away on its own. Been gone for a few months. $$$$ for a crown I did not need, might have had to endure a root canal I didn't need either. Best advice, get a second opinion. read more

I wanted to give this local dentist a shot and it wasn't a good choice. I had a 7A appointment and didn't even get out of there till after 11A. I understand that first visits can take up to 90 minutes but this was excessive. Also, everyone was sick, even if they had face masks on, it felt risky being that close to the dentist and his assistant while they cleaned my teeth. My cleaning was painful and even weeks later, my teeth are really sensitive. The receptionist was doing her best. The lady who does billing did okay, but what I was billed for seemed to not match the services I received. And the peer pressure I was given about getting their specific mouth guard made me have to be stern with the dentists. Overall, not happy and will not go back. read more

I've been going to this dentist office for over 10 years and I will not be returning. I stayed at this location through the numerous Dentists, hygienists and receptionists changes over the years but the current staff is the worst. They can't keep appointments, try to upsell on the most expensive treatments, dentist Stout is impersonable, some of the receptionists have been rude and overall I'm left with an unprofessional impression. Seems like they are just in it for the money and care less about the patients. There are plenty of other Dentist offices in the area and I recommend going to one of them. read more

I've been a patient at this office for a couple of years and have always had positive visits. I recently had an older crown break, so I called in to get an emergency appointment. Due to the last-minute need, I was scheduled with a new dentist to the practice, Dr John Ramirez. All staff members I interacted with including the front desk staff, the young woman who took my x-rays, Dr Ramirez, Dr Stout and a different tech who took my post-procedure x-rays were all very polite and professional. Dr Ramirez conducted an exam and explained to me the options for a crown replacement. Before proceeding, a staff member came in and showed me what the costs would be (before and after insurance coverage) for the two options I had available. I opted for the Cerec crown which is made in the office and placed the same day. Dr Ramirez was very thorough in his explanation, made sure I was comfortable with the procedure and ensured that the final placement was a great fit. The technology available at this practice is impressive. I appreciate the option to complete the patient questionnaire electronically prior to the visit, the digital x-rays are much better than what I've experienced at other offices and the in-house Cerec crown option was great. While my appointment took about 3 1/2 hours, there was no need for a temporary crown and a follow up appointment to place a permanent crown. While I was waiting for the crown to be made, I mentioned that I had an implant that was a bit loose. Dr Stout was able to come in, between his other patients to check it out and get it tightened up. With each visit I've been very impressed by the efficiency of the techs and assistants. They are very good at what they do and are also very personable. This visit ended with a quick checkout at the front desk - easy payment and next routine appointment scheduled. read more

Despite having dental insurance, and this being a preferred provider, they did several diagnostic procedures without discussing it first. Being a patient for more than 6 years I can say that the dentist and hygienist have always been professional and cheerful. However management of the office is lacking. I have never been seated at the time of my appointment, never. I understand that issues arise during the day to cause delays in being seen on appointment times, but when I schedule the first appointment of the day you should expect to be seen on time. read more

Today I called to schedule an appointment for myself and my husband since he works six tens and doesn't have time to schedule them for himself. At 5 AM a filling fell out. I called the service and they got me in at 9:45. Brittney, Ashley and Dr. Stout worked tirelessly to get me tended to and out of the chair for my 1:00 appointment to meet and greet a cat. Since I needed a crown and they would have needed more time, they did a temporary and told me to come back Monday and finish up. I'm a senior on Medicare and they respected my situation by giving me a great price, even with 2 trips and 2 crowns! I highly recommend this fine establishment. Give them a try. It's true. This office is sub par on many levels. I am often disappointed with our healthcare system in general, and so I've stayed with this office for over a year because it's close to home, and let's be honest, it doesn't matter where you go nowadays...THEY DON'T CARE! They don't care about any of it. I had a 3:30 p.m. appointment for a cleaning I scheduled over 2 months ago, because that was the earliest appointment they were offering. Today, on the the day of the appointment, I received a call at 1:11 p.m. asking if I could come in early as the DR. had some extra time...?? I told Jessica that I was planning on coming in at the scheduled time and she asked that if I could come in early it would be helpful. I arrived at my appointment at 3:10 p.m. After signing the electronic documents they did not present to me for reading prior to signature, I waited for 30 minutes. I had to ask for copies of what I signed, and the 2 girls that work the reception desk are VERY rude and completely unprofessional every time I go in. It's like I am inconveniencing them to do their job, and they ALWAYS have an attitude. At 3:45 p.m. they bring me in for X-Rays. I'm seated in the dental chair at 4:00 p.m. The dentist comes in right away and we spend 5 minutes discussing my concerns. He says "let's do the exam and we'll see what kind of a cleaning you will need." He proceeds to tell me that he is finishing up with a patient and it should be about 15 minutes. 20 minutes later the dental assistant comes in and says she wants to start the cleaning because the dentist will be another 20 minutes before he can get to me. It's now 4:30 p.m., no exam received and no cleaning received. I am now upset. Jessica comes in and tells me I can have the cleaning right now, just no exam, and that I should be okay with that and to stop over reacting! Really?!!! We're just going to do a cleaning without an exam, and concerns present??!!! NICE! The dialog morphed at this point and I asked her why I have to sign documents I don't get to read first and she tells me "their monitor doesn't turn around and I should get the documents from my patient portal!" There was and is no accountability from any member of this office in any way shape or form, at any time. They are indifferent, unorganized, rude, inefficient and unapologetic, but hey! You should just sit down, shut up, and don't call them out on anything. They don't care about any of it! Unfortunately, from all of the other 1 star reviews this practice receives, it's clear; this is the best you are going to get here! read more

The worst. I just replaced a crown they did that was too big and blocky and worse, not aligned with my teeth. It caused my jaw to be crooked for the last 3 years. What a relief now that it's been replaced! The dentists here are just out of school and they have a high turnover. I truly wish wish I could give zero stars. I was overcharged for dental work, it boarders insurance fraud. I never see the same workers behind the desk. But what truly ground my gears was being treated like cattle by the doctor Vo all while listening to her unprofessional demeanor with her employees. Had to go in to get a crown done. The staff from the front of the office to the back was more than any patient could hope for. Starting with Jess and Rosie up front greeting me and making me feel welcome, then the other staff, that weren't even the ones treating me (Tiffany and Tori) saying "hi, how's your day going" made me feel way more at ease. Dr. Stout has hired a staff that is top notch and goes above and beyond. The RDA Ashley took my X-rays and was super quick and painless in doing so. Dr. Makadia was quick, efficient and super friendly. I was in and out fast and their staff actually made going to the dentist a great experience. Totally satisfied. They really know what they're doing and they get it done right. I was skeptical at first being in a shopping center. But after six years of going, I wouldn't go to no other dentist. Dr. Michael Stout listens and offers the best technology possible. Best Teeth cleaning and x-rays, I never had an issue. Please be careful here! They tried to fit my new crown that was way to small for my post an broke off part of my tooth an the build up. After 9 months of them messing with the tooth I had to leave the office an have it pulled out else where. The many times they tried to refit a new crown she kept breaking a little more of my tooth off. She then tried a post an a new crown, all the while this tooth was never ok, I never chewed on that side of my mouth since July 2018. After months of a major infection an major pain the tooth an the new crown were removed. This office an the manager have been completely un-responsive in helping or responding to me. I've been dealing with severe TMJ pain and have called 4x for over a week to be seen. I can't open my mouth, I have shooting headaches, I can't eat on the one side, and it's miserable. The office said there's no appointments until November and that's including so called emergency appointments. I asked for a sister office to be seen sooner. They referred me and then it was cancelled. I'm so frustrated. This is awful service. read more

I went here twice for routine cleanings. The third time I went I was pregnant, and had recently been in a bad car accident that required hospitalization, and a month later had a round of covid that left me with a collapsed lung and hospitalized. Between those two events I had had a lot of CT scans and x-rays during the pregnancy and my OBGYN said absolutely no more x-rays or radiation exposure if I could at all help it. Nothing routine except for needed ultrasounds and she hoped I'd need no more emergency care. The dental staff here would not take no for an answer on routine x-rays. I offered to come back as soon as the baby was born, but repeatedly told them my OBGYN had said absolutely no more routine x-rays or radiation due to the already unsafe levels I had already received during the pregnancy for emergency care. The hygienist tried to convince me and then brought the dentist in, neither would accept the word of my doctor who has been overseeing my care throughout this pregnancy and all its complications, and pressured me to accept the x-rays. The dentist tried to tell me what the Association of Obstetrics recommended, and I was said yes, in normal pregnancies, but I'd already had much more than the normal dose of what is recommended during pregnancy and repeatedly said what my OBGYN had recommended. I have not gone back since, since I cannot trust them to listen to the recommendations of a doctor overseeing my care who knows more about my situation. It felt like they cared more about being paid for the x-rays through my insurance than about my own well being. read more

I wanted to take a moment to express how impressed I was with the care I received at Missouri Flat Dental Group. Dr. Stout was so thorough and friendly; it was one of the best experiences I have had at the dentist. You can tell that he takes pride in his work and he went the extra mile to make sure the two fillings and cleaning I had was exactly right. I went in a couple of weeks ago and so far, everything feels great. I came in after having a very poor experience with the another dentist three years ago who did not fix the issue I was having with my tooth. I am so relieved to have the issue resolved. Like many, I am normally unnerved when I have to get dental work done but Dr. Stout and the staff were so happy and pleasant, I actually had a good time! There was no pain during the procedure and it was so refreshing to be in an office where I felt so well taken care of. Lily, who took my x-rays and assisted with the procedures was sweet, professional and delightful to talk to. I am trying to remember the second assistant's name - I think it might have been Eliana - (apologies if that's incorrect) but she did my cleaning and she was also just excellent. I also feel that the work was done at a fair price given the market. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much given my past experience with dentists but what a pleasant surprise. very disappointed in the staff and dentist , had two teeth pulled and the empty space was to be temporary replace with denture so i can chew until my gums heal for implants . will i waited weeks and weeks but no dentures . i called the office many times but nobody could tell me where my dentures were , never received my temporary dentures. i couldn't eat firm foods mostly soups and blended foods..THEN i broke the bottom tooth because i did not have the dentures so now i need another implant. horrible. then i got in a unprofessional discussion about the money i paid for the denture at first the office lady told me she wouldn't add that money to the tooth that broke but after getting up from the dentist chair and following her to the front of the office she finely put that money in my bill for the broken tooth... now i can even make appointment for my implants.. the lady's don't know what's going on in the office...... I had a tooth that was causing me pain so I did a quick google search for dental offices in my area. I chose Missouri Flat Dental group because: 1) This office was very close to my home and 2) It was covered by my insurance. But I must say, I really stumbled upon something great! As soon as you walk in, the office itself is clean and modern, presenting itself well to patients. The front desk is run by two amazing employees, EMILY and PATRICK, who are FANTASTIC! These two are genuinely pleasant, kind, helpful and funny, too! I have only great things to say about them. Thank you for a wonderful experience. :) Additionally, the care I received from my dental assistant Nael and dentist Sheynie Vo was also exceptional. They both went above and beyond to make my experience as pleasant as possible. Both were very caring and gentle during my procedure and communicated with me as much as possible to make sure I was comfortable and taken care of. Overall, I would highly recommend Missouri Flat Dental Group to anyone. 3 weeks after a filling it fell out. I called on a Saturday night and whomever answered told me that on Monday they would call me early and squeak me in for an emergency fill. PROMISE. They said they were walking my paperwork to the desk of the manager for a "high priority" visit. Please. I cleared my schedule for Monday. NO ONE called me. I had to call again Monday night and their answering service told me to swish with salt water....oh great, since I'm already swollen now and infected since I have a gaping hole in my mouth...sure I'll try it. I'm assuming they gave me the cheap fill since I didn't agree to some new $700 technology for a simple fill. "Teach me" right.....?? Well, going in tomorrow for a refill and they're sure as heck covering it. UPDATE: I finally got it and yes they filled it again for free, BUT 2 weeks later it fell out again! Saw Dr. Stout today for the first time. The office staff is very friendly and they got all my information set up for me.. I have a thing about dentists, I usually don't like their personality. , Too often their arrogant, and the whole office adopts that same aloof attitude. . If I saw Dr Stout in a Dentist line-up there's no way I I could pick him out.. He's Just a normal guy but he obviously knows his business .. He was really clear on what needed to be done and listened to what I had to say.. I really think I'm going to like this dentist and his office..! I'd recommend him to family.. read more

Dr. Stout put a crown on one of my lower teeth and didn't check to see if the height needed to be adjusted. I reported that it was still painful months later and he started trying to adjust it without any anesthetic, indicating that I needed to feel it to know if it was adjusted correctly. I couldn't tolerate the pain while he was adjusting it (and the assistant was spraying cold water on it) and the crown stayed high. I eventually had such severe pain that I needed a root canal. The endodontist said that the tooth trauma, due to the crown being high, destroyed the tooth root and caused and infection, and injured the tooth above. The endodontist adjusted the crown height using contact paper while I was anesthetized without any problem, and did the root canal through a hole in the crown. I have also waited over an hour for treatment at this office with no explanation or apology. Note: The dental hygienist at Missouri Flat Dental Group Tiffany, is excellent, and I don't mean for my rating to reflect on her or the office staff. Also, to be fair, Dr. Stout did a simple filling without difficulty. read more

Very disappointed. The positive first...the facility has undoubtedly high quality equipment and my initial check up was great. The clinicians were very nice and informative. They scheduled a root scaling and 2 fillings. Here comes the negative...I went in for the appointment after contacting my insurance. Insurance informed me the resin composite filling would be at most a $50 per tooth copay and the root scaling was covered. I was also informed by the insurance company that the normal procedure is for the dentist to collect payment then bill me for the copay. I was informed at the office that they would not be able to do the work without upfront payment and that my portion of cost would be $265.00. I asked if billing me would be a possibility and the only response was the desk girl saying no and they should have covered this with you at your checkup and that is just not how they do business. In this time with so many folks unemployed and otherwise having a hard time making ends meet due to covid restrictions and mass paranoia businesses should be understanding and willing to work with their clients. If that is how they insist upon doing business then I am sad to say that they have lost mine. This is very disappointing after such a positive first impression. read more

The new team at Missouri Flat Dental Group took the time to understand my previous dental history and what the needs were for the future. They also saved me a substantial amount of money by identifying the work that might be covered by insurance that I was not aware of until the staff pointed that out.
