    Birria tacos
    Michael M.

This place deserves its flowers. Really cool space, great service, delicious food, and it's close enough to the quarter but allows some escape. Sat at the bar, ordered ceviche, birria tacos, and of course the frozen margarita in the bear mug. The tacos were really flavorful and I'd come back for those alone. Ok, so the shrimp ceviche was melt your face off spicy, and I love spice so no complaints, but that's just my warning for the next guy. Definitely come for the vibe and stay for the food!

Met a friend here for happy hour and a quick meal. It did not disappoint. Service was amazing. The food really delectable. We started with chips queso and Guacamole on the Happy Hour menu. The Paloma was refreshing and potent. I got the shaved Brussels salad and it was HUGE. Had I known it was that big I would have made that my entree instead of the mojo tacos. That being said, the Mojo Tacos are worth coming back for. I could eat my body weight in those. We ended our happy hour session with the "Pro Move"-churros and Sorbet. They accommodated our allergies with no issues. Our server was an absolute delight. The atmosphere is very Instagram worthy if you are looking for that. But seriously-just order those Mojo Tacos. You will not regret it.

We've been wanting to try this place for months because we always pass by. Sat at the bar on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Ordered 1888 Rum and Diet Coke, but they only have regular bottled coke. The 1888 rum was really nice - smooth. Husband ordered the crunch wrap and I ordered the Fried ChickenTacos. Both were really good! The tortillas seem homemade and the chicken was fried crispy served with a chipotle sauce and sautéed onions. I asked for fresh jalapenos and it added a nice fresh heat. Would definitely come back for the tacos and to try the dinner menu.

Great service, very attentive but not overbearing. Food is tasty, did not exceed my expectations but it was solid. For some reason i thought brussel sprout salad will be warm. I was wrong. It was still delicious, i added pork and fried plantains. I ordered their churros too, those were great as well. Ambiance is relaxing and casual, at least at 3pm. They had their social media team recording some videos so it was entertaining. Overall good place, not sure if i would necessarily go back but experience was good but it did not blow me out of water. P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not the stars reflect that.

We came in the afternoon for lunch and were promptly seated. The place is beautiful with lots of natural light and modern decor. It was not busy at all. The prices are a bit high in my opinion for the size of the food. For the dip trio you had a choice of red salsa, green, or chipotle. We tried the red salsa and it was very spicy. The trio was very small for $25. Most of the tacos are a make your own style but my group liked the brisket. The empanadas and birra tacos and taco shells were very oily in my opinion but the filling was good. Overall we had a good time but I have had better Mexican food in New Orleans. This was more a trendy upscale type place.

We stopped by Mister Oso twice and it was cute! We enjoyed it for a quick, dependable bite and it was next door to our hotel. Service was good. Each of our servers were kind and had great attitudes. The margaritas were small but pretty good. The chips and guac were a little expensive for the serving but it was good. We enjoyed our tacos, and the happy hour frito dish was my favorite! I would love to have 2 of those. Overall, if you're staying nearby and want a quick bite that's dependable and will hold you to dinner, or for a quick happy hour, Ozos is a good option.

    Breakfast Burrito

The signage caught my eye from the sidewalk and the place was pretty quiet, so I decided to stay for brunch at the bar. The server was accommodating and the music upbeat. It was a brunch shift, so I got a Bloody Mary. It features a house made poblano spice mix; ultra flavorful but also very spicy. I asked for tomato juice to water it down. The brisket breakfast burrito was a generous portion and perfectly balanced, with crunchy red onions, melty cheese, soft potatoes, and caramelized knobs of beef wrapped neatly in foil. Prices are fair to moderate, in line for this area of the city. I'd come back for a dinner or bring friends for brunch.

Delicious spot for a unique Mexican menu. The smoked brisket carnitas were perfectly spicy (though if you are heat sensitive maybe try something else), tender, and just overall amazing! For a unique twist on queso I tried the chorizo crawfish queso and it didn't disappoint. Topped it off with a margarita for the perfect end to the night. Be aware of the pricing in advance though The out the door price for 1 person was quite high for Mexican food which is probably attributed to the smoked meats and other uniqueness of the dishes but was a bit shocking when I saw the menu.

Food was good and fresh, came on a Monday around 2p so although there was no wait, the meal took a while to cook. Kinda pricey for the menu, my husband and I spent over $100 each getting one drink, one appetizer and one taco entree a piece. But the food is good so there's that. Bathroom was a dream!! As a mom of a little one that needs diapers changes quite often, I loved the changing table in the largest stall. Would visit again when in town.

This restaurant was stunning!! The best vibes here and great food and drinks!! The beef tacos were so good along with the trio dip which included queso, guacamole, and salsa. I will definitely be back!!

I am glad I was able to fit them in on my most recent visit to the city. I was alone on my visit and was welcomed to sit at the bar by Vito, the bartender who was working that evening. He took good care of me and made fantastic recommendations. Actually, just green lit my choices so I knew I was in for a good meal. I love a good margarita, especially a spicy one! This drink had everything I needed it to be. A nice heat, a good amount of lime, and sweetness. I decided to try the chicken empanadas. These were delicious. There was a nice smokiness to the chicken. The pastry was tender and flaky. For my meal, I went with the birria tacos. This was clearly the way to go. These tacos were fantastic. The beef was tender and smoky. The tortilla crisp and flavorful. Just the right amount of aromatics. These rank very high on my list in the birria department. The vibe is so much fun, more tropical than your traditional Mexican restaurant. Bad Bunny radio set the mood for a great time.

Not a fan of the slow service, subpar Mexican food, and hella long wait times. Mister Oso missed the OK for me. Came by during dinnertime with a friend while we were here not for, but during Jazz Festival week. And maybe that's why the restaurant was busy with long wait times. They looked severely short-staffed but it wasn't that poppin, so we waited like an hour before we were seated for a later dinner. The ambiance is cute, I'll give them that! Nice aesthetic and vibes. The food was...I gotta say the fried oyster tacos and it was definitely better than my friend's cauliflower tacos. The fried oyster was crispy but the flavor was just like...jalapeno idk. The tortillas are flour, and I'm more of a street style with maize kinda girl but ya. Service was slow, and the drinks came out later than our food. I think we just had an odd experience, but there were other small parties like ours and one bigger group. We just didn't leave satisfied across all service and food departments, wouldn't rec.

    Crunchwrap

This was a delightful last full meal in NOLA before coming home -- and what better meal is there than brunch?! Apparently, this place used to be Barcadia... so what a change! This place was recommended to me by a local, and wow was it a great experience. My buddy was flying back before me, so we walked from our hotel for brunch and he headed to the airport from there. Mister Oso has a spacious interior, but also a protected outdoor area... that's where we sat, of course. The staff were very kind... I was going to get an item that I can't quite remember -- it was more desserty, I know that. Unfortunately it's a best seller and they were out, so I opted for the crunchwrap. That was an AMAZING choice, as it did look just like a Taco Bell crunchwrap, except it was bursting with way more flavor and delight. The mimosas were wonderful too! I would return to try their tacos, happy hour and everything else.

Spending so much time in New York, I've probably had better, but the food here is still good. This is a small chain (NOLA, Metairie, Baton Rouge, West Palm Beach), outfitted with neon, murals, and pink flowers. The menus are high tech and light up when you open them. We started with the queso fundido, with melted mozzarella, chorizo, pico de gallo, and microgreens. Comes with corn or flour tortillas. It was cheesy and tasted great. They also provide chips and a flight of three salsas. Salsas all had completely different flavors and spice levels, so I enjoyed that. Other options are guacamole (with or without short rib), plain queso dip, short rib bites, and oysters rockefeller. Selections include various tacos. I had the birria tacos, which are served in a dramatic fashion, hanging from a line over the tray, which contained the consomme, salsas, rice, and refried beans. They were juicy and savory and the accompaniments hit the spot. Though I've probably had better birria elsewhere . . . not sure you'll find any better or authentic anywhere in New Orleans. My husband had the fish tacos (ensenada), crispy and covered in cilantro, payo, pickled cabbage, avocado, and pico de gallo. The fish was light and the pickled slaw added just the right amount of brightness and acidity. They also have mushroom tacos, chicken, bone marrow wagyu, carnitas, shrimp, and more. They serve larger main dishes including fajitas, carne asada, barbacoa, burritos, enchiladas, and more. They have a great drink menu with the expected margaritas and mezcal as well as some fancy specialty drinks. I has the Hasta el Agua Del Florero, which is vodka, bombay, lemon juice, pineapple juice, and watermelon syrup. It was good, but also 20 dollars. The margaritas of course come a little cheaper at 13 bucks and are decent. Some people complained about service. It wasn't busy when we stopped in, but our server stayed on top of things, the table was always bussed, he kept checking to make sure everything was to our liking. We had no server issues at all. Not sure this would be the top of my list to try of all the choices in New Orleans, but not a bad choice if you're in the mood for a Taco Tuesday or some Mexican chow.

However, the pork taco was the best of the two, packed with savory roasted pork, chicharrones, tangy pickled red onion, and a great green salsa on the side.
