Camry for lunch yesterday. Overall pretty good. Unfortunately due the the weather this past week they were out of over half the menu due to no deliveries. Had guacamole and chips. The guac was very good. Nice warm salty chips too. Their beans have a good smokey, garlicky flavor. Enjoyed them. The birria tacos were ok. Lacked a little flavor. This place deserves its flowers. Really cool space, great service, delicious food, and it's close enough to the quarter but allows some escape. Sat at the bar, ordered ceviche, birria tacos, and of course the frozen margarita in the bear mug. The tacos were really flavorful and I'd come back for those alone. Met a friend here for happy hour and a quick meal. It did not disappoint. Service was amazing. The food really delectable. We started with chips queso and Guacamole on the Happy Hour menu. The Paloma was refreshing and potent. I got the shaved Brussels salad and it was HUGE. Had I known it was that big I would have made that my entree instead of the mojo tacos. That being said, the Mojo Tacos are worth coming back for. I could eat my body weight in those. We ended our happy hour session with the "Pro Move"-churros and Sorbet. They accommodated our allergies with no issues. Our server was an absolute delight. The atmosphere is very Instagram worthy if you are looking for that. But seriously-just order those Mojo Tacos. We've been wanting to try this place for months because we always pass by. Sat at the bar on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Ordered 1888 Rum and Diet Coke, but they only have regular bottled coke. The 1888 rum was really nice - smooth. Husband ordered the crunch wrap and I ordered the Fried ChickenTacos. Both were really good! The tortillas seem homemade and the chicken was fried crispy served with a chipotle sauce and sautéed onions. I asked for fresh jalapenos and it added a nice fresh heat. Great service, very attentive but not overbearing. Food is tasty, did not exceed my expectations but it was solid. For some reason i thought brussel sprout salad will be warm. I was wrong. It was still delicious, i added pork and fried plantains. I ordered their churros too, those were great as well. Ambiance is relaxing and casual, at least at 3pm. They had their social media team recording some videos so it was entertaining. Overall good place, not sure if i would necessarily go back but experience was good but it did not blow me out of water. We came in the afternoon for lunch and were promptly seated. The place is beautiful with lots of natural light and modern decor. It was not busy at all. The prices are a bit high in my opinion for the size of the food. For the dip trio you had a choice of red salsa, green, or chipotle. We tried the red salsa and it was very spicy. The trio was very small for $25. Most of the tacos are a make your own style but my group liked the brisket. The empanadas and birra tacos and taco shells were very oily in my opinion but the filling was good. Overall we had a good time but I have had better Mexican food in New Orleans. We stopped by Mister Oso twice and it was cute! We enjoyed it for a quick, dependable bite and it was next door to our hotel. Service was good. Each of our servers were kind and had great attitudes. The margaritas were small but pretty good. The chips and guac were a little expensive for the serving but it was good. We enjoyed our tacos, and the happy hour frito dish was my favorite! It was a brunch shift, so I got a Bloody Mary. It features a house made poblano spice mix; ultra flavorful but also very spicy. I asked for tomato juice to water it down. The brisket breakfast burrito was a generous portion and perfectly balanced, with crunchy red onions, melty cheese, soft potatoes, and caramelized knobs of beef wrapped neatly in foil. Delicious spot for a unique Mexican menu. The smoked brisket carnitas were perfectly spicy (though if you are heat sensitive maybe try something else), tender, and just overall amazing! For a unique twist on queso I tried the chorizo crawfish queso and it didn't disappoint. Topped it off with a margarita for the perfect end to the night. I am glad I was able to fit them in on my most recent visit to the city. I was alone on my visit and was welcomed to sit at the bar by Vito, the bartender who was working that evening. He took good care of me and made fantastic recommendations. Actually, just green lit my choices so I knew I was in for a good meal. I love a good margarita, especially a spicy one! This drink had everything I needed it to be. A nice heat, a good amount of lime, and sweetness. I decided to try the chicken empanadas. These were delicious. There was a nice smokiness to the chicken. The pastry was tender and flaky. For my meal, I went with the birria tacos. This was clearly the way to go. These tacos were fantastic. The beef was tender and smoky. The tortilla crisp and flavorful. Just the right amount of aromatics. These rank very high on my list in the birria department. Not a fan of the slow service, subpar Mexican food, and hella long wait times. Mister Oso missed the OK for me. Came by during dinnertime with a friend while we were here not for, but during Jazz Festival week. And maybe that's why the restaurant was busy with long wait times. Had this back in December! Honesty, this review is more for the service rather than the food. To start off, the food here is delicious. Great quality tacos, sauce, and drinks. The Horchata was done well and had a solid amount of cinnamon. The short rib tacos were a HIT. Super tender and juicy and paired very well with the guac and salsa verde. Now onto the service. My group ordered a Chips Platter (that had guac, salsa, and queso). We got all our food except for the chips. When we asked the server what happened to the chips, they told us we never ordered it. However, I remember clearly we spoke to the waitress and they noted it down. Fast forward to signing the check, we realized we were double charged for 2x portions of the chips platter. So not only did we clearly order the chips, we were almost about to be charged for two portions! I would've appreciated more transparency and accountability when it comes to what we are ordering. Amazing salad!! I grabbed a Brussels sprouts salad for lunch pickup after lots of delicious but very heavy meals in NOLA. It was packed full of veggies, with loads of sprouts, plus avocado, almonds, and cheese. Great dressing too! I got the pork as an additional protein, which was really good, but I wished I had ordered the chicken after seeing it in a neighbor's taco while I waited for my meal. Also, what a cool looking restaurant! And the service was wonderful, even for takeout. They set me up at the bar some water while I waited. read more

I was really excited to try Mister Oso. We had plans to go to Luna Fete and I noticed it's right next to the fest so yes perfect. Made reservations which I don't think were needed because it was not busy at 6 pm. We were seated quickly. It's a beautiful space. We ordered cocktails that took longer to get than I expected. I had a mescal cocktail and to be honest it was not very good. Everyone at the table had a sip and said the same- not good. I didn't finish it. We shared the queso which was absolutely delicious! I'm not sure what all was in it but it was creamy, cheesy and spicy. My entree was the biera tacos, they were good but a little too salty and not the best I've had. All in all I'd say our experience was meh and little overpriced for what we had. read more

And no one came to the table to check on us or to refill our empty drinks. The only time a server came to our table was to take our order and then bring our entree. I had to flag a server down so that I could get the check. And then it took another 10 minutes for me to flag down a server to complete my payment. Now on to the food. I ordered the crunch wrap since they were out of the French toast. The potatoes had a burned taste. If they weren't burned I think they would've been good. The foundation was there but they just missed the mark. The crunch wrap was Good. Overall I'd give this place a 2. Not really worth going back. Asked the server if there was onions & peanuts in certain dishes due to severe food allergies in my party. Was told no, reassured there was none. Stated twice again after ordering two food allergies at the table. Received a dish COVERED in onions. Taco meat also had onions. Good thing the person with the food allergy noticed. This can be scary for someone with food allergies for the servers and staff to be negligent about the ingredients in food. Did not receive an apology or any kind of communication letting us know they were sorry. ( we were not expecting any compensation. After a long night (ok evening) stumbling along Bourbon St on a Thursday after nursing several frozen daiquiris, we decided to grab a dinner to help absorb up some of that alcohol. We decided to stop by Mr Oso as birria tacos are one of my favorite inventions of all time. Mr Oso is a lovely "coastal" Latin American restaurant that has been Americanized with notes of Taco Bell, which is a high compliment coming from me. Things are served family style, and our waitress was extremely nice and patient in explaining the menu to us and how the restaurant worked. We started off with the queso (and chips). It was very good. Hot cheese, flavored, touch of spice. If anything could be done to improve, the tortilla chips could have had more salt, but I have an excessive craving to salt. Next came the tacos. We had the quesabirria and the cauliflower Al pastor. Both were absolutely delicious. I loved their compote and the tortillas! Didn't end up getting dessert, but as we were leaving the restaurant was definitely popping. But overall, great food, great service, would recommend! read more

The service is attentive and informative and the menu is full of fresh exciting new concepts. I had to smoked fried chicken tacos that had bacon, jam, chipotle and pickled red onions and some good old guac for an appetizer. Fried chicken tacos comes out piled up high with a side of three tortillas you build your own taco with whatever portion you want. Definitely a good option and very aesthetically pleasing to the eye when it comes out. The taste is awesome. Bunch of different flavors. The bacon jam isn't overpowering and the chicken was flavorful. They used chicken thighs and they're crispy and tender. The Guac w pistachio sikil pak & tortilla chips was fresh and was different but delicious. Spin or traditional side. The price for both considering the area is very reasonable too. I had the Birria taco with beef short rib and melted cheese and onions. It tasted okay, but was a little salty. I couldn't detect any cheese or onions in it. The amount of food I got for the price ($18) was small. I also had a white sangria with rum, pineapple and peach. I ordered a house margarita and it was refreshing. For starters, we ordered the Queso with Chorizo and the Empanadas. The queso had a unique taste and it was not my favorite. The barbecued chicken empanadas were tasty and I would definitely order again. The tacos,except for the Birria tacos, come family style. We ordered the Birria tacos and the smoked chicken tacos. The Birria tacos came with two tacos and they were delicious. The smoked chicken tacos came on a tray with chicken, onions, lettuce, and salsa. We were given three tortillas and built our own tacos. The chicken and salsa were flavorful and the combination made an excellent taco. Lastly, we ordered the Pro Move for dessert. I visited Mr. Oso along with a colleague who was visiting from out of town. The space was mostly empty during the time we were there- it was a Sunday afternoon. Our server was a hoot. Sweet guy with lots of personality. Sadly, I don't remember his name but he was great. Chips and salsas were brought out to start. I ordered my first ever Birria taco and they were pretty good! I was also so hungry and probably ate too fast. I wasn't drinking alcohol that day, so I missed out on their yummy frozen margaritas. I'll definitely get one next time. We stayed at the Cambria during Mardi Gras and made the short walk over for lunch one day. Our server was super great at recommending drinks and menu items, and every single thing was a hit! We got their frozen margarita swirled, which were served in the cutest bear jars. We also all split the fried chicken tacos, birria tacos and mojo tacos, and got the chips and queso. AMAZING! We sat on the patio, which is on the road side, but is closed in. We loved the colors and beads all over as decoration as well. Highly recommend, and I will be back when I am next in Nola! read more

It's giving happy hour in Tulum vibes. The tropical decor and vibrant neon colors in the restaurant were very inviting and made for a cozy evening date night with the husband. The Brussel sprouts are a GAME changer. At first I was skeptical like why Dre they charging me $13 for sprouts. WORTH EVERY PENNY. the sauce was perfection and not over the top, the Brussels were crispy and cooked to perfection. And what makes it even better is they hold up well for leftovers. Pop in the air fryer for a few minutes and you're transported right back. The coconut shrimp tacos were good. I think they over fried the shrimp with the thicker breading BUT they too help up well as leftovers in the air fryer. The homemade flour tortillas were banging and the salsa verde that accompanied had just the right amount of kick. We'll be back to try some more menu items. I've been to the mister oso in denver so i knew about it before they came to nola and it's not the same experience or quality if im being honest. first off, it's my third time here and they were out of several things- chips, guac, and also don't serve nachos past happy hour and only do chips & salsa during brunch only lol. You know how it is when you come somewhere wanting certain things then they don't have it... big bummer. Big L. The mexican pizza is not great, i would skip that. I would recommend: nachos guac & chips espresso martini (with tequila) so good & the quesabirria tacos everything else is OK, but not the best mexican food you will have. the decor and ambiance is solid and the service has always been 5/5. love the artwork!
