I met with the owner Mathew McGuire, who I found to be friendly, sincere, and someone who is vested in his business, his people, and working to ensure that he wins life-long customers with every job. I had done a lot of research with AI, so I knew my options well (that research was very helpful and I'd highly recommend doing it in advance of having people out to give you pricing). I had no intention of beating up each of the companies, I simply asked for their best pricing and options. I used AI to carefully review each bid in detail, including the proposed equipment and how appropriate it was for our home. All companies gave solid bids, but there was a very large spread between the highest and lowest. That usually concerns me, but all my research about American Energy indicated that they were a solid, competitive company. It was a big investment, but I ended up converting to an electric heat pump and also getting all our ducting replaced. We have a 2750 sf single-story home with 17 vents, so the new ducting was nearly as much as the system itself. That said, the ducting has made so much difference in terms of balancing the temperature throughout the house, which was a real probelm with the old system. The new system is extremely quiet and maintains a consistent temp throughout the day--and we've had some extremely hot days since it's been installed. American Energy's installers were all very friendly and professional, and did a great jobs with prep and clean-up each day they were here (the initial install took two days). There were a couple minor issues after the install was complete which required two follow-up appointments. One was a equipment issue that required Carrier to provide a replacement part, but Carrier was responsive and quickly provided it. For the additional follow-up appointments, their scheduling person as professional, courteous, and accommodating. In fact, she went out of her way over a weekend to re-schedule an appointment that was supposed to happen on a Monday morning. To me the company has to be a good one to A.) get that kind of diligence out of employees, and B.) to keep those kind of employees. In the end, I'm extremely happy with the system and will gladly subscribe for their annual maintenance contract.

Very disappointed with American Energy Home Pros…read more Our AC went out, and we called American Energy Home Pros to diagnose the issue. We paid a $100 inspection fee and were told we needed a new indoor fan motor. We were quoted almost $1,565 for the repair, and they didn't have the part available but said they could order it. Before agreeing to the repair, I decided to get a second opinion--and I'm very glad I did. Frost Energy Solutions came out and diagnosed the same issue. Josh replaced the same motor for $775 TOTAL, including the inspection, and even topped off our Freon. That's nearly an $800 difference for the exact same repair. I understand companies have different pricing and overhead, but I felt the original quote was extremely high, especially after finding another reputable company willing to do the same job for almost half the price. I would definitely recommend Frost Energy Solutions and Josh. He was professional, honest, fair, and transparent about the repair and pricing. In this economy, that kind of integrity means a lot! Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion before paying a high HVAC repair quote. We're very thankful we did!

Then he applied a pest solution he called "hot foot" which apparently squirrels hate. It worked. The squirrels haven't been back. As an added bonus, the technician changed the second story light bulbs above my porch that required a super long ladder and some risky, heart stopping maneuvering near the top rung. Once they, the driver, told him the reason I'd followed them was to tell them one of the tail lights on the trailer loaded with the seamless gutter supplies was out. Jason was friendly and seemed grateful that I'd made him aware of the problem. We talked for a few minutes regarding the seamless gutters. We talked briefly about my goal to have the ones on my house replaced. He agreed to come measure and get an estimate for me. Our schedules prohibited us from connecting but we stayed in touch via text messaging. After finally connecting in July, we nailed down some possible dates for measurement, estimate, etc. The delay in us connecting is not a poor reflection upon Jason or your company. In fact it worked out perfectly as I was "saving" for the job. On Friday, 08/03/18, Jason stopped by measured and estimated the job then left some of the materials needed to complete the job. We agreed upon a time for him to return the following day, and he and another guy showed up on time at the predetermined time. Being on time is huge for me, leaves a positive lasting impression. The estimate, which Jason gave me for per foot prices as well as disposal of old items was spot on. The rough pricing he gave me via text and that which he provided when he came to the property were consistent. The pricing was good. Jason and his partner removed the old gutters and down spouts, replaced them with the seamless gutters, down spouts and leave guards. Wow, it made a huge difference on the exterior appearance. I can't wait for it to rain so I can see the improvement. The old gutters may have been originals from the mid 1980's, were rusted and leaked. Jason and his partner completed the job within the estimated time frame. He kept me informed and answered my questions. Both Jason and his partner, sorry I cannot recall his name, were friendly, polite and represented the Capitol Mechanical name well. Customer service is another biggee for me. Jason and his partner cleaned up and left my property in great shape. This includes the leaves and debris from inside the old gutters, the old gutters and excess materials. This is another huge plus for your company. My entire experience from flag down about about the burned out taillight to installation, completion and cleanup including customer service, professionalism and everything else was awesome. The quality of the product is also excellent. And the price was better than two other bids I'd gotten - even though I already knew I was going to use Capitol Mechanical and Jason, I did my homework.
