This is my new fav spot! Healthy yummy food! Clean yet cozy vibe with music and friendly staff. Love the plants especially the herbs in planters!

This place seems to cater to a very discerning crowd. I was stuck in line behind multiple groups of people who wanted to talk about things like could they get dishes with only organic ingredients or how to avoid gluten, but thankfully the people working there managed to work in my order while the others were still deliberating. They were an energetic bunch; this was the first time in my numerous restaurant experiences that someone asked for my name for the order and then came back with "Johnny Boy". When I did order, there was some sticker shock; whatever you can say about the sort of food it was, that was a lot of money for a bowl and a beverage. What came out lived up to expectations, however, with my bowl having a kale base but a delightful mix of Mexican flavors. I never lost interest in it, and it was a nice clean meal to space out my other culinary indulgences. The place is all vegan, and the menu seems to vary by day, but I'm guessing that vaguely Mediterranean and American salad bowls are always on the menu. My matcha latte was sweeter than most, but given the contents of my bowl it actually produced a nice balance of flavors. For someone who does have the sort of dietary needs to want to come to this place, I doubt you'll drive by many better options on the way.

So me and my two best girlfriends drove all the way from Cincinnati, Ohio to experience this restaurant. I ordered the Mediterranean bowl my other friend ordered the Mexican bowl and my other friend ordered everything bagel with a blueberry crumble smoothi. Well let me just start with the everything bagel it had everything on it, but was far from tasting like anything. The blueberry crumble smoothie had not smear of sweet in it like hello people blueberry bland nothing like where did you get these blueberries do they actually make unsweetened and unflavored blueberries? Next the Mediterranean bowl literally is gorgeous. It looks like everything. It also taste like nothing not an herb not a spice not a little bit of salt on any of these bowls, and then the lastly the Mexican bowl also epic fail, hard pass Also for the amount of food and what we paid for this is disturbing on so many levels. I paid $20.00 my friends paid $55.00 for her two meals and a smoothie plus a $10. Tip..... It's sad $10 would've been disrespectful enough but at $20 it's a slap in the face so disappointing and disturbing any single sauce even salt and pepper could've helped something. I don't know and maybe agave or maple syrup or something in the smoothie like how disgusting and black plastic, shame on you guys It's an endocrine system disruptor Very pretty girls and swee t excellent service too bad they're working in the bland bucket

I am so happy Monroe finally has a plant based spot to grab a healthy breakfast & lunch! From the teas & coffee to the lattes & smoothies, you will find something for your palate. I was super happy with the Mediterranean salad. It has a variety of flavors and textures that were tasty AND satisfying! Soba noodles, garbanzo beans, cucumber, beets, hummus, kale.... I'm sure I'm forgetting some goodness. It was so good, it make me energetic and ready to work after lunch! I got an apple crumble smoothie for my not-so-vegan boyfriend. It's super tasty and just the right about of sweet. I can't wait to try the other smoothies on the menu! I ordered a beet latte which was super tasty and creamy, I will get it again! Keep up the good work, I would love to see this establishment make it in Monroe, which direly needs some health conscious restaurants!

My son grabbed lunch from here. He choose the Peanut Butter crunch wrap, the cinnamon roll French toast, a mixed berry and Apple crunch smoothie. The smoothies were great, both tasted good. I also enjoyed the wrap, the peanut butter is good and the wrap definitely could have used more of it. Also I didn't have much sliced banana on mine. My son preferred the cinnamon roll French toast. I definitely would recommend

Vegan gem in Monroe. Unexpected, but welcome plant-based eatery for this region. The vegan dough balls are dangerous. I'm coats a little more than you expect, but it is all well-crafted.

Hometown charm with modern food options and charm! About time Monroe had a healthy food dining experience & Misty's hits the mark with the service, ambiance, and tasty menu items. Highly recommend!

What a great spot! Everytime I come home to Monroe it seems that there's never a good healthy place to dine in. First time here and super impressed. Megan and Jackie were really sweet and patient as I figured out what to order and I was delighted with both the everything bagel and sweet potato and maple crunch toast. Bonus that there is parking and the place is spotless. Will be back!

Excellent business, great healthy food & drinks and service as good as it gets. Try the Black Sesame Latte while you're there.

On a foggy Saturday morning, heading South (I-75), we decided we should stop for some coffee. Unfamiliar with Monroe and wanting something other than gas station coffee, I found Fresh Start Coffee House. It's less than a mile off of the highway and worth the deviation. This unique little shop offers artisan coffee, inspired food and conversation. Paula and Vic, who own the shop engaged us as soon as we walked in. They offered recommendations and were genuinely polite. They told us that they employ people who are in recovery, re-entry and with special needs. Their space is available for church groups, community organizations and other community meetings. They also feature live bands on occasion. The coffee was amazing. We both got "Paula's Perfect", although we'll be back to try others we wanted. We got the carrot/berry (Morning Glory) muffin and it was delicious. The ambiance was fun, clean and well designed. The prices were fair and well worth the support of their mission. They also sell merchandise, art and other trinkets. If you are passing through, do yourself a favor and check Fresh Start Coffee House out. It's a hidden gem in Monroe, and a new regular stop for us.

The spirit of Edgar Allan Poe, and Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega version) would find themselves very much at home in Nocturnal! Fortunately, the appeal of this place goes well beyond its cool vibe. The coffee is great. It's potent. It more than satisfied my incessant desire for STRONG FLAVORS! The other drinks that I tried were excellent as well. I didn't try any pastries or other snacks, but I have to admit that they looked very tempting. At first I would have thought that this place seems a little out of place in downtown Monroe. But after coming here a few times, and checking out the very interesting crowd, I realize that I was mistaken. I'll definitely be back, and I'll bring the wife. She'll love it too. Five stars!!

I would definitely recommend it. You can add flavor for a small charge but I just had it plain. We also ordered a peanut butter explosion cookie. Wow was it rich and decadent. We couldn't finish it but I loved the peanut butter whip on top. So good! If I lived in the area I would be a regular. Highly recommended.

I was shocked that after only my 3rd visit, Violet not only remembered my brother's name but what kind of latte he drinks (because it's the same boring one every time). Violet and Kiah have talked me into trying a few different lattes off the HUGE menu and now I am hooked. I've read some of the "poor" reviews....and I think these were more isolated incidents.
