Listen. We went downtown to try out this location and we were hesitant based on the reviews we were seeing on here. Fact is, the waitress was very sweet and did a really good job (had to wait on the bartender twice, so they need to figure that out), but still not too long. Food was amazing & came out in a timely manner. We had the special ribeye and they were cooked correctly, very tender, and a really gracious 16-oz steak. One of our friends ordered the salmon and it was really one of the best recipes I have ever tasted. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. We planned to go to Aragon before a candlelight orchestra show, but since they don't open until 5 PM, we pivoted to Misty's thinking it would be a safe, early dinner option. Huge mistake. The restaurant was practically empty, two other people total, yet the hostess informed our table of four that we'd have to share menus. Yes, share. In a deserted restaurant. We were handed two menus. We ordered food and drinks, and somehow, despite the place being a ghost town, our appetizers arrived before our drinks. Strike one. Our waiter was polite but painfully slow and clearly confused, which is impressive considering there was almost no one else to serve. Then the food arrived, and the disappointment really set in. For the prices they're charging, the portions and quality were laughable. My husband ordered a $22 Reuben, and I am not exaggerating when I say the meat didn't even cover the width of the bread. There was a solid two-inch gap with no meat at all, and what was there might've totaled an ounce. An ounce. On a $22 sandwich. We sent it back. Between the absurd menu situation, sluggish service in an empty restaurant, and food that absolutely does not justify the price, this place is a hard no. We chose to ignore the bad reviews and go to Misty's in downtown Lincoln anyway. Most of the bad reviews seemed to be from people that were trying to eat before a large event so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. It was the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. There were probably 6 tables with diners so it was quiet. We walked into the restaurant and were met by the hostess. She simply said "4?" We said yes 4. Not the most welcoming greeting but ok. We followed her to a booth and she said "you can sit here" she dropped 4 menus and walked away. After about 10 minutes a male server walked out of what I assume is the kitchen and looked toward our table and asked "had anyone helped you yet?" I said "no, not yet". He didn't have a verbal response, he just walked away. We waited 5 more minutes with no further contact and I started to put on my coat to leave. This must have caught someone's attention because Finally a nice young lady approached with 3 waters and said "your server will be right with you." We said can we just put in an appetizer order? We ordered the sampler and 2 soda waters. Another 5 minutes went by and our server finally came to our table. "Are you ready to order?" We informed her that we already put in an appetizer order and we're going to see how that went before ordering anything else. She said "oh" and walked away. It looked like 2 or maybe 3 servers were on shift. 1 hostess and 1 other female staff member who I'm guessing was the floor manager. Plenty of staff to give decent service in restaurant woth 6 active tables. (About 40 empty tables) Someone from the kitchen dropped our sampler a few minutes later. The sampler was good. When we were almost finished with the appetizer the server came back and said "are you ready to order now?" I asked for the check. I have to say that if the service had been better we would have ordered more food. The service lacked any personality. The very basics of service were missing entirely. No warm greeting. No here is what to expect. No "have you been here before?" No nothing. For what it's worth, we traveled to Lincoln from Maine on a road trip to see a Huskers football game. This restaurant was recommended as a "must do while in Lincoln". We are a low maintenance family. Very understanding of the challenges of the restaurant industry. I'm a former F&B director and my wife is a wedding planner so we know service. Some basic server training would go a long way in this restaurant. It feels like Misty's is just phoning it in. Really disappointed but was as expected after reading the other recent yelp reviews. This gets 2 stars because the food we had was good. read more

Maybe an off night but for an upscale steakhouse the overall experience was not impressive. The restaurant was not busy and it took longer than expected to get out drinks from the bar. I got a medium rare ribeye. It was very tough and a good portion of it had connective tissue. It was almost as it a different cut of meat was sent out. The seasoning was very good, but quality was not what I would have expected. Another member of our party also got the Ribeye and was pleased. So must not have been my lucky day. The vegetables with my steak were very tasty and what I would expect. Hopefully when I'm back I'm back in town, I'll have a better experience. read more

As we sat there, everybody around us that ordered AFTER us got their food, ATE their food, sat there for a while, and then left after an hour And 15 minutes we asked for a manager which she just said sorry and offered nothing at first when we continued to say how wrong it was she said I could take off 10%. Which we declined because that was nothing explaining that we had waited over an hour and 15 minutes and everybody around us that ordered after us got their food and left. If you intend to eat here before an event downtown on a week night, DON'T. My wife and I TRIED to eat here tonight before a concert at the Lied (literally around the corner from the restaurant), made reservations for 5:30, and ended up leaving at 6:50 WITHOUT eating. We were seated, ordered all within 10 minutes of arriving almost exactly at 5:30. We ordered to salads and an appetizer. The appetizer was slightly burnt. No Bread. No Water refills. We never saw the salads even after asking 45 minutes in how much longer. The server ended up asking us what we ordered at that point... Should have known. After 1 hour and 15 minutes of waiting for our order, we had to leave to make the concert. I then asked for the check for the appetizer and to cancel the order. Nobody came back. I finally left just enough to cover the appetizers and we left. PATHETIC. Even the manager didn't offer to make things right.. just said "sorry." This has happened more than once where we went early, but waited forever for drinks, food, check, etc. on a night where an event downtown was taking place literally one block away from the restaurant. Like tonight, we went early when it wasn't busy to beat the crowd, but it doesn't seem to matter. The service was terrible. The management didn't care. The food (what we got) was marginal. If you want to eat before a concert or performance at the Lied... go to Wendys, Qdoba, or Chipolte. You'll at least have time to eat. read more

Tourist from Texas. Fries were fresh out of the fryer, and my Reuben was really good. I thought I would be disappointed, as I am accustomed to my Reubens being piled really high with meat. This was just a few layers, but the quality of the meat was so good, I can't be mad at the quantity. My waiter was quick and to the point, and the food came out within 5 minutes of ordering. Ribeye w/ Loaded Baked Potato ($37 +$1 Loaded Toppings) & Fairy Nectar Pint ($6) Party Size: 1 Total: $48.07 Worth it? 100% Misty's was the food highlight of my Nebraska work trip!! It was recommended to me by the hotel staff and several locals as their top pick for steak. As much as I wanted to try their famous Prime Rib, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try a true Nebraskan ribeye. Steaks come with the choice of a salad or soup appetizer and potato or rice side. I opted for the French Onion soup and loaded Baked Potato. The French Onion soup's rich, beefy broth was loaded with onions and cheese. The baked potato was topped with real bacon bits (worth the $1 upcharge) and complemented the ribeye. The star of the show was the ribeye and it was incredible! It was one of the most tender and juicy steaks I've ever had, I almost shed a tear after my first bite. Check my photos for visual proof of this photogenic ribeye. Misty's is the new benchmark comparison for a great steak. I sat in the bar area and got to watch some NBA while enjoying my dinner. Service was great too, shout out to Jay Bird! Overall: I highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates a great steak without breaking the bank. We went to Misty's for food before the game. We got our water after being there for 30 minutes. After an hour we asked where our food was. We were told that food would be another 30 minutes. We walked across for dinner when staying at the Embassy. Great wine selection and a larger than expected menu. We decided to share the ribeye and order lots of sides to share. We started with the spinach artichoke dip switch is served with tortilla chips. Sides were side salad, Green beans, asparagus, au gratin potatoes. We honestly didn't like the streak - was very tough for a ribeye. It was nicely grilled and cooked exactly like we requested but as a Texan, we are hard core judges of that beef and this one didn't measure up. The salad, rolls and asparagus were all excellent. My husband and I went for an anniversary dinner and the only things ok about our dinner were the French fries and our server. There was only one other table seated in the whole restaurant, as we arrived fairly early. Iced tea did not come until after the soup and salad. The lobster bisque was reheated (kind of) and broth curdled. I think the salad had been prepped the day before and covered with Saran Wrap in the fridge, as there was salad pieces stuck to the outside and bottom of the plate and leaves were browned and wilted. My husband ordered a ribeye that was tough and crispy/charred for being over done. The prime rib on my sandwich was ordered medium and came out rare with most of it being fat and gristle and about half an inch thick. I asked for no onions, as I can't eat them, and after the first bite found a pile of them in the middle of the sandwich. After explaining this to the server she offered to remake the sandwich, but at this point we were over it. Our server was very kind and said she would talk to her manager, but no one ever came to our table nor were we compensated in any way for 2 meals we could not eat, aside from the fries. My brother and I went out for a nice Nebraska steak night. He recommended Misty's, the decor was a a classic semi formal steak house and kept clean. The menu's had seen better days for sure and are falling apart. We both had an old fashioned to start, which fell short in the taste department, we both moved onto red wine. I had the classic shrimp cocktail to start and was not disappointed by its size or taste. I then had the lobster bisque soup and it was very tasty, could eat bowls of it. For the main I went with a 8oz fillet, with a lobster tail and topped with blue cheese. The tail was bigger than I expected and was super tasty. The fillet was tender and cooked perfectly. We ordered the Spanish artichoke dip for starters and a glass of Malbec. The chips were good, the dip was only warm, and the wine OK. We also had bread which was very good! For dinner we had the French onion soup and Alfredo with serlon tips. The soup was salty, but good. I ordered the serlon tips well done and the came out medium rare. See the photo. I should have sent them back but we never saw much of our server so I just pushed them aside. She did come back and noticed it and offered to send them back but at that point it was too late. Three stars could have been four but I'm still upset about the under cooked meat. They should know what well done meat looks like. Update 9-15-16 We had dinner here last night. The food was better but the wait staff made us feel like we were eating at a hi-way diner. They did have a waiter filling everyone's water glass but it's not enough to update to four stars. Same meeting, still in Lincoln! Came with a large group so they set us up in a private room with a fixed menu. Once again, glad I wasn't paying with the limited menu, but I had a decent meal. The waiter let me trade out my side salad for the French Onion soup which was a smart decision. I ordered the chicken (even though it was a steak place) and it was pretty good. Better yet were the side of Brussels sprouts that I asked for extra bacon on top. Everything is better with bacon! I don't know if the beers are any good, since I'm a wino. Came to Misty's based on the hotel recommendation. Great location, beautiful inside and LOTS of people waiting. Made my way to the bar hoping for a nice dinner and a glass of wine. Care to know what I got? Ignored! Hard to know how the food is or if this place is any good. After 25 minutes I gave my seat to another victim and headed to the door. I am sure that the locals know and expect the slow service. It's not fun, when you're hungry to HOPE someone is going to help you. We wanted a Nebraska steak experience so chose Misty's, that was close to our motel and had good ratings on ZELP. Both were accurate! It was close to our Comfort Suites (3.1 miles) and it's ratings. I had the prime rib and my wife had the fillet. Both were excellent as were our side dishes. I opted for soup as a starter and was rewarded with a wonderful cup of lobster bisque, what a treat. Equally the service was fast and friendly by our waitress who added to our visit by being delightful. Located right across the street from where I was staying, the Embassy Suites and right near the University, Misty's Steakhouse is a great option if you're looking for a full course meal. This was my third time enjoying a dinner here. Consistently, it's always been easy to make a reservation but I would still recommend making one especially on nights and weekends. The service was great-our server was very attentive and we didn't wait long for anything. We started out with classic martinis that were made to perfection. I love the bread and butter that they bring out. The butter is whipped and made in house. I ordered the salmon entree with potatoes and it came with a choice of salad or soup. I enjoyed a salad before my meal. Overall, this dinner is exactly what I needed after both a long day and long week of work. Also, we had a strand of unfortunate dining experiences in Lincoln that week so Misty's was perfect. I will be back next time. read more

The Caesar dinner salad was fresh, crisp, and did not have too much dressing. If it were only the food Misty's would have received 4.5 stars, but the service brought it down to a 3. The iced tea was ordered without a lemon and showed up with one. Wowsa... 4.75 stars. $29 bucks for a huge beauty of a ribeye... Pour on top a cup of soup, a heaping tater, and a whole loaf of bread... And you've left me Misty-eyed. (sorry, had to) But seriously though. I ordered the 11oz ribeye "pittsburghed" (look it up) and it came off the grill maybe about 15 seconds too early. But had a great seasoning and crisp sear on the outside and was one of the juiciest and most tender steaks I've ever had. Melty. The lobster and seafood bisque was a bit boring... But serviceable. But then again, I have been living in Nola for the past five years... where every third time you turn around somebody bisques you in the face... So that's a hard comparison to hold for a land locked Midwestern joint. But again, serviceable soup. Service is on point and quick. Hell, I would have probably eaten the hot plate if it had been more tender. Nice stately atmosphere. Nice steakly attitude. Yum. Well done... (The experience, not the steak... I dined at Misty's with a group of coworkers after hearing great things about the food. I was unfortunate disappointed. I was underwhelmed by the quality of the food m. We ordered several of the appetizer samplers, I only enjoyed the calamari. Te onion rings were not very good in comparison to other places. For my dinner I ordered the Citrus Glazed Salmon and that too was OK. The salmon was almost cold and the sauce on top was not very good. I did however enjoy the Au Gratin potatoes. read more

I have been here a few times and I'm not that impressed. The first time I was here I was a few minutes late to a group dinner and being a few minutes late to ordering had my meal come out when everyone was done with dessert. The steak tasted just ok. Another time I came here I had a beer at the bar and was going to order dinner. Growing up in Nebraska and going to School in Lincoln, Misty's always had a good reputation as a premier steakhouse. I was immediately taken back when I walked into the door. It seemed more like a brew house than steak house. It had that cold feel with tile on the floors. Very confusing Then the menu. I decided to have the T-Bone, Au Gratin potatoes and lobster bisque seafood soup. First out was the soup. Hot and good flavor but only a couple of chunks of actual seafood. Next was the steak. I got it medium rare and it came out more rare than medium. I probably should have sent it back but at this point I didn't know if it was a chef in the back or just a college kid earning tuition money. I had to use steak sauce so that's always a sign to me. No seasoning to notice and underwhelming for $37 The potato's were good and tasty but were more like potato chunks than traditional Au Gratin Potatoes. I sat at the bar and it wasn't busy and received great service. My drink was always full. Overall, three stars average but pricey for what I actually got. I was wondering at one point where they got the beef because it was chewy. I think they need to decide if they are a brew house or steak house because one is suffering because of the other. read more

I've been hearing about mistys since I moved here. When some friends came to visit me, this was where everyone recommended. We came in on a Saturday night around six and it wasn't very busy so we were seated quickly. It did take some time to get our order taken and then even longer for our food despite how empty it was. I was also a little disappointed regarding the gluten free options. Usually a steakhouse has lots of naturally gluten free things to choose from. I guess because of their seasoning, which they aren't sure is or isn't, they omit a lot of things. There really weren't any appetizers so we settled on a salad and split a steak and potato. The server was nice but didn't seem really aware of what gluten was. Overall the food seemed pretty average, at least for what I ate. Steak was an appropriate temperature, they split it for us on two separate plates and included an extra potato which was very thoughtful. I guess flavor wise I wasn't wow-ed. My friends who split the prime rib said it was good, but also that it wasn't something they would go out of their way for. Who knows, maybe we ordered the wrong things! Price was pretty average for a steakhouse and portion sizes were good. Overall I prob won't be rushing back because I didn't feel I had a ton of options to choose from and I wasn't amazed by what I did have. But at the same time, I wouldn't be opposed to trying it again sometime. read more
