Visiting Cincy, we decided to make a reservation here! We loved the thought of family style dinner!! There were only 3 of us, so we figured ordering a few plates would suffice... except when our server told us we would need way more. We were a bit surprised to be told that everything basically came in twos or was a very small portion! (Confusing because when I think family style I think BIG plates) This is a TAPAS place... family style but small appetizers and drinks style restaurant!! So you probably won't leave here full!! The server was kind and very knowledgeable! She gave us plenty of time to pick and choose! We decided on bread w/ oil & salsa ($11), guac & tostones ($13), ceviche of the day ($22), 2 chicken skewers ($19), 2 pork belly tacos ($16), & 3 beef empanadas ($22.5) I will say all of the food was PHENOMENAL... chicken skewers were perfect (might be spicy for some), ceviche (red snapper our day) was my favorite... just a super small portion for $22, empanadas were perfect, and the oils and bread was top notch!! Seriously have nothing bad to say about the food (BRAVO Chef Jose Salazar.... You really know how to do your thing!!!!) I loved it and really enjoyed my time, but if you're looking for a fancy, cute, SMALL dinner vibe - this would be the jackpot find! Or even a drink/apps before a bigger dinner date. (But if you're looking for a traditional large family style meal, I wouldn't go here) Our bill ended up over $150, but when divided it was really only around $55 each!! Not too bad for a fun fancy meal! I would love to come here again and try more, especially knowing the menu has lots of daily rotations (ex. The ceviche) Thank you again for a lovely experience!!!

This place has a really nice ambiance. The service is also nice. The food was okay, I just wished there was more of it. I love tapas but this was tapas at full dinner plate price. It was an okay experience but I wouldn't repeat it. The menu also has very limited options.

My husband and I chose Mita's restaurant and bar for our eight year wedding anniversary dinner because it is part of the Chase Sapphire, reserve dining program and because it had been on my bucket list for a long time. We parked on a nearby street pretty easily. We were a minute late for our reservation, but the restaurant was kind and accommodating. We were impressed immediately upon entering as the interior is gorgeous. I loved every bit of the decor. I also found the temperature of the restaurant to be unusually comfortable. Most of the time I have to wear some sort of sweater or occasionally I am far too warm, but this was just right. Our server greeted us right away and gave us the perfect amount of time to make our decisions and look over the menu. He gave us recommendations, but didn't pressure us into ordering anything particular. Ultimately we landed on the goat cheese stuffed peppers, the Iberico pork flank steak, the green pea pupusa, and the jerk chicken skewers. Everything was delicious, but the jerk chicken skewers won by a landslide for both of us. I would recommend someone looking for good jerk chicken in Cincinnati pay Mita's a visit. The other dishes were also delicious. The Iberico pork flank steak was my second favorite dish. Each slice of steak tasted like a thick cut of bacon. Very flavorful. The pupusa was good and had some sort of herb or micro greens on top that I wish I had in my refrigerator to add to everything. The goat cheese stuffed peppers were very tasty and I asked my husband to try to make something similar at home because I don't think I could order them again given the portion size for the cost. For dessert, we had a hard time choosing because it all sounded great, and I was in the mood for dark chocolate. However, my husband has more of a sweet tooth, so I let him choose. He chose the tres leches. It was very good, but is just too rich of a dessert for me to eat much of, so we ended up leaving a bit. The restaurant also knew it was our wedding anniversary, so they brought us out a small piece of off menu Colombian almond cake. I absolutely loved the unsweetened coffee flavored, unsweetened, whipped cream on top. Overall, a great dining experience!

Mitas was amazing! Everything from the service, to the food, to the ambiance and everything in between was great. It's hard to narrow down a favorite because everything we ordered was delicious, but if o had to I would say the chicken kebabs and stuffed peppers were the best. The only issue we had was deciding what to order because everything sounded great. One of my new favorite spots in the city!

We were served by the Goat (tattoo on her arm lol, love it) Service was great. We liked her personality. Ambiance is fine. We had a nice table. For the two of us, we ordered 3 vegetables and 4 carne (double order of empanadas). As well as 2 desserts and 3 cocktails. (total around $177) We were a bit unsatisfied when we left. BROCHETAS DE POLLO; EMPANADAS DE RES CON PIQUE (4); *BOCADILLOS DE HAMBURGUESA (2); REPOLLO A LA PLANCHA; TOSTONES Y GUACAMOLE; PATATAS BRAVAS; TARTA DE CHOCOLATE; PASTEL DE ALMENDRAS; CARAJILLO; PERITA MANHATTAN; FLOR DE SAUCO Cabbage was very interesting but can be a texture thing for anyone who doesn't like mushy foods. The sauce was good. The potatoes were ok but had a smoky flavor we didn't prefer, and could have been crispier. Empanadas were nice and crispy and full of meat. Better than Che but not as good as Alfio's. The sliders were greasy but had good flavor. Eat them fast to prevent mushy buns! The chicken skewers were tasty but could do without the rest of the stuff on the plate. Plantains and guac was good. They were crispy, great texture. Guac was limey! The desserts were good but my fiancé said he would prefer the strawberries removed front the chocolate tarta because they tasted weird, as well as the sour cream whip. My cake was warm and spongy, delicious coffee flavor and a nice crunch on top. The carajillo was delicious. The other cocktails were also good. Manhattan was fruity and light. So was the flor. There is a section on the check for server tip as well as kitchen tip which you don't see often. overall, this place was a bit overhyped for us. We've had much better in the city and likely won't be back any time soon.

We went here for our anniversary dinner and it was delicious and filling! Their cocktails were super yummy (I had the margarita clarificada and my husband the old fashion). We got a salad, 1 special, the empanadas, and the tacos and it was plenty for the two of us. We had an early reservation but it was still really busy. The staff was attentive and on top of it, with one main waitress for our table but her peers would drop our food and drinks as they were ready at the service bar. The environment was warm and very Spanish ambiance, which we loved and felt fit the menu. A great corner spot with large glass windows to let you see onto the bustle outdoors!

We came good a dinner before a show and wow, what an excellent meal! We ordered the Seafood Paella immediately because it takes some time to cook. In the meantime we got the warm olives and goat cheese as a starter. We got a bunch of other fresh dishes like their jicama/green mango salad (very okay, a little light on flavor) and their venison crudo - so so good and great flavor. The paella was fantastic and had so much seafood in it, nice charred rice, great flavor. We also got patatas bravas and pulpo. The pulpo octopus is a must-eat. It comes cut up in very tender pieces on light fluffy mashed potato - seriously so good. We were stuffed after trying everything. Highly recommend! Mita's also qualifies for Chase Sapphire's dining credit, so if you're looking for a spot in Cincinnati, look no further.

Remnants of a fantastic dessert selection.

If you've never been to Mitas, you're missing something special. Fantastic food, drinks, service, and ambience. It's truly a great experience! Make your reservation now! This place is no longer a hidden gem!

GET THE PORK BELLY TACOS!!!! Every bite of food in this place is incredible. Recommend the red sangria, shishito peppers, empanadas, and ceviche. The desserts are insane.

Wow! Can't stop thinking about spiced skate wing, snow peas and blueberries. What a pairing! Best dish I've had on my trip to Cincinnati. Beautiful restaurant. Date night special. Parking in a garage is your best bet. Would absolutely come back here.

long story short: stunning small plates We went to Mita's on a Wednesday night but it was still bustling & busy, which gave it a warm & comfortable atmosphere. Our waiter was attentive & well-versed in their menu. We got a few drinks, a glass of orange wine & a white sangria. The sangria was good, if a bit bland, but the orange wine was delicious. As for plates, we started with jamon & olives with goat cheese. The jamon was wonderfully savory & thin, a definite must-order. The olives & cheese were warm & a great start to the meal. Next, we tried a seasonal skewer with peppers, olive, sardine, & black garlic; WOW! The short-rib empanadas were succulent &, with the chimmi, so delicious. The pork belly tacos were perfectly cooked & sweet & spicy. Oh & the potatoes were to die for- perfectly flavorful & crispy. We finished with the tres leches cake, which was good but a bit average compared to the rest of the meal. We left full & planning what we want to get the next time we come.

Wow! This place is amazing. I really never eat food that blows my mind but this did. First the guacamole and tostones were incredible. They were warm and salty and garlicky. But garlicky in a way inside never tested. Amazing. And just the right amount of line in the best guac. Also the paella was amazing. It's everything you want in a paella. We will be back!!

recently came in for a friend's birthday dinner and mita's did not disappoint!! *be advised that they don't offer to split checks per guest, but rather 1 card for the table, or 1 check split evenly for the amount of guests you have (this wasn't a big deal for us- venmo exists for a reason LOL) service was attentive, but not overbearing, drinks and mocktails were delicious, and the fooooodddd oh my godddd SO so good! will definitely be returning in the near future cuz their ceviche & stuffed peppers are off the charts

Are the tapas at Mita's big enough to share? With how many people?

I'd say 2-3, maybe 4 if you want a smaller sample. I'll say we are bigger eaters though. Bread board is good size.

    When is happy hour?

    5-7 (not Saturday/ Sunday)

Food: 5/5 Dishes are explained as slightly larger plates than tapas style. My favorites: Wood Grilled Octopus, Crispy Falafel, Bouillabaisse. Love the Moroccan Mint Tea as well! Service: 4.7/5 Very friendly! They course out your plates for you which I always love. They were able to accommodate my pescatarian diet (I.e., meats on the side to give to others at the table). On a less busy night, they offered a free toast for my birthday. I've been for other celebratory dinners here on busier nights where that hasn't happened, so it was a lovely surprise! Ambiance: 4/5 A little busy and can get loud on the weekends with table chatter, cutlery clinks, and the brick walls echoing noise around. Tables are also close together, so you can definitely hear the conversation next to you. The decor is pleasant and the lighting is soft and romantic enough that it is still a perfect date night spot! There are also a couple larger crescent booths for larger parties.
