The Kani salad was good, but had way too much cucumber. It was more of a cucumber salad with some Kani. My three maki rolls were great. Sushi tasted fresh. My friend said her beef tenderloin was tough. Now the fried banana.. So we both ordered it within minutes of each other. Only one was brought out by the food runner (NOT our waitress) and we had to wait quite a long time for the other one to be brought out. When the second one was brought out it was just thrown on the plate and not presented nicely like the first one. It did have decent flavor. Our waitress was great. Samantha was a rockstar! My best friend and I came for restaurant week. The ambiance was very nice. Our server was nice. The service took a long time. There weee long periods of time between each course. The food was good. I have visited this restaurant before and the food is really good. I planned a 25th birthday for my son. Dinner is 6 ( 5/23/25). Reservations easy to make. The service absolutely horrible they rushed us like bizarre. We told them it was my son's birthday. The woman server was rude!!!!! They sent each of our appetizers except my son. Then brought our entree. We were respectful and said my son's app did not come out yet. Even though his entree came out. At one point he got up to use the bathroom and our female server ran up on him screaming at him. " your app is coming ". He was like I'm going to the restroom. Well it got worse. I am always looking for new Asian fusion spots. This one stands out because it is the only one that I know of on Long Island that has beef bone marrow on the menu. It was a delicious surprise, featured on the Chef's Special menu. There is no sushi bar, darn it! The bar is an ordinary one, tended by a bartender. He perfectly prepared my recipe for a Virgin lychee martini: half lychee juice, half club soda, and as many lychees nuts as the cocktail glass can possibly hold. You'll find the sushi chef in the kitchen; and there is no omakase, to the dismay of die-hard sushi lovers like my Yelp Elite friend Linda K. You'll have to go to an authentic upscale Japanese restaurant for that. This is an Asian-fusion restaurant whose main menu selections include Scallion Pancake, stir-fried Chinese Cauliflower with spicy garlic sauce, grilled Rack of Lamb, Crispy Red Snapper, Wagyu Beef Burger, Signature Sushi Rolls and more. Prices are standard for Long Island. The service is good, and the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. The interior looks like a dance hall. Wandering around in Babylon looking for a place to have diner, and we stumbled across Mito and decided to give it a try. Upon entering, you immediately notice the gorgeous decor. The restaurant used to be a bank in it's prior life and it's humongous! My wife and I shared the Rock Shrimp Tempura. I've had this dish at many different restaurants, and I thought this was one of the better ones that I've had. The Szechuan spicy aioli sauce gave it a slight kick so I really liked it. I had the Ma La Beef Tenderloin for my entree. It was very good and the steak was cooked perfectly, but it was also very spicy. The waiter had warned me that the dish was spicy, but the spiciness on this dish was on another level. I still enjoyed the dish because it was delicious, and would order it again in the future, but will ask them to lower the heat if they can. For dessert, we had the Tempura Ice Cream with green tea which I also thought was really good. I highly recommend Mito for an occasion where you'd like to go to a nice restaurant for dinner. read more

We finally got a date night and decided to check out Mito, which is where Monsoon used to be. They have a promo running through 12/31 for 20% off your bill during their soft opening. Babylon is no stranger to Japanese/Asian restaurants but this one is a bit more of the upscale, romantic vibe. Hubs got a Sapporo and I got the Samurai cocktail, which has organic blueberry preserves in it. Really tasty, not sweet, and complimented the food nicely. We started with the steamed edamame gyoza - really nice and good flavor. 4/5 For the mains, I had the vegetable Yaki Udon. I really enjoyed my dish - great flavor and not drowning in sauce. The food was very fresh tasting and a good amount of veggies. My better half had the fried Szechuan chicken. He liked but didn't love his. He thought the breading on the chicken was too much. We also got a sweet potato tempura roll. 4/5 Finally, the piece de la resistance- the crème brûlée. You may be saying - "Mandi - crème brûlée!? This is an Asian fusion restaurant!" But alas, mon Cheri - the owner also owns a French bakery?! Our waiter recommended both this and the molten lava cake, both made in house but I am a girl who loves a good crème brûlée and I was NOT disappointed. This was epic. We attended the soft opening and there is room for improvement. Our Dan Dan noodles were missing the peanut broth, they ate very dry. We didn't know it was missing until we double checked the menu the next day. The portion is sharable if you order other items. The triple three roll was made with soy paper and stock full of protein. It was the star of the night. The 8 piece dim sum tasting plate is recommended so you can taste four different types of dim sum. The wagu beef and the shrimp were the best. The edamame had no flavor. As per their advertisement the bill should have had a 20% discount which wasn't given, see receipt photo. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Staff still needs to get into a rhythm which is expected since they just opened. We will give them another try in a few weeks. read more

Mito is a gorgeous restaurant. While my entire group enjoyed their entrees and their drinks, Mito unfortunately missed the mark a few times and we all said we were unsure if we'd return. Service was extremely slow and our waitress, although friendly, rarely came over to our table. More than half of us ordered off of the price fixe menu, and one of my party's appetizers came about a half hour after the rest of ours. When we went to order another round of drinks, they were out of Tito's, Riesling, and a vanilla liquor and whiskey they use for one of their speciality cocktails - on a Friday night. Definitely a bunch of kinks that aren't acceptable for what we paid! Hopefully in the future they'll ensure to hire enough staff and regularly restock the bar. read more

Mito made its way to Babylon and I decided to check it out for happy hour with a friend. $8 signature cocktails. A lot of apps are listed on the HH menu as well. The cocktails were so good. Apps we got were general tso's chicken, rock shrimp and the Dimsum tasting(regular menu). The dimsum tasting blew me away. Each pocket of goodness better than the last. The rock shrimp were perfectly crisp and not overly sauced. The general tso's was also very good. There were little potatoes in there were a nice touch. Happy hour at Mito is a must. read more

We visited the other night to try their AYCE option because they listed all you can eat Hokkaido Uni and Kumamoto oysters on their menu. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the Uni was out of stock and that it was not actually part of the AYCE menu as advertised. The cost per person is $58 and you get the buffet table, 1 alchoholic drink (soft drinks are unlimited) and unlimited seafood and meat (ordered via waiter/waitress) and an option to choose 1 of either Alaskan King Crab, Uni, O Toro Tuna, or Caviar, add $20 per person be able to choose 2 and get unlimited alcohol. We ordered The Alaskan King Crab, O Toro and Caviar. I suspect the "Alaskan King Crab" is actually the cheaper southern King Crab from South America as it was extremely watery and did not have the identifiable sweetness real Alaskan King Crab has. The O Toro did not look fatty at all or was a really low grade of tuna belly. The caviar was decent. While there were a lot of options on the buffet table, the food looked as if it had sat at for a while and was not appetizing. On a bright note, the snow crab was sweet and delicious. Service was slow as they only had 1 waitress on staff and she was also tending bar. We ordered Lobster Tail (Caribbean lobster), Japanese Sweet Shrimp, Scallops, Chilean Sea Bass, and Abalone from the seafood menu and can say the sweet shrimp and Chilean sea bass were great, the lobster tail, scallops and abalone did not taste fresh to us. For meats, we were informed they only cook their meats medium or higher which gives you an idea of the low quality of meat they use. The Lamb chops were good but everything else we had was just ok. The menu they have on their website feels misleading/false advertising as it states $78 per guest "includes all items above unlimited & all drink unlimited" but that's not the case. If you are on the fence about going here, just don't bother. We won't be back. read more

My friends and I went to the soft opening of Mito and took advantage of the 20% off deal. We started with some appetizers that were PHENOMENAL. We loved the calamari, Rock shrimp and chicken lettuce wraps. For the entrees, we ordered the hibachi steak and chicken meals. The hibachi entrees were served with mashed potatoes and veggies - no fried rice, and you were unable to switch the potatoes for rice, which was a little strange. The place was immaculate and the ambiance was impressive but after being seated we realized we were in trouble. Menus, had No mention of any brunch and staff all seemed to preoccupied cleaning! Finally a waitress comes to take our order and when we inquired about the brunch, we were told "No Brunch's on Holidays, Todays Father's Day, So No Brunch" Ok! Dumb! I guess but not a deal breaker, but the annoyed look on the waitress and her unfriendly tone set the mood for an unappealing event. The food was OK at best, with the sushi being quite good, but there were minor annoyances that led to an overall bad experience; like no plates for our appetizers, lukewarm tea (did not leave a pot), only one dipping plate for our sushi, No fried noodles at start! And Moping in the other room all spelled out one thing; Unprofessional!!! Believe me I could still go on for what was about an hour experience. 3.5 This restaurant is lovely in itself but a little strange. I went on a Friday night and would have expected it to be quite busy. It wasn't, except for a few tables. The Babylon location is very large, I believe with 2 floors. The food was pretty good with fair prices (especially considering prices dining out currently) The drinks are very strong. I had the Ms. Tokyo and my date had the Samurai and Yuzu drinks. All were pretty powerful. My kung pao chicken was good but I could have used less dry peppers in the dish - the texture is not great. I was told the Ma La Beef tenderloin was good but there was a floury texture to an ingredient (not the meat) that wasn't pleasant. The service was excellent, very kind and attentive waiters. Came here with my boyfriend's family for my birthday in early January we went on a Friday night was surprised at it being so empty. I've been here once before and I think the food is really excellent. Also, the price point is good not crazy expensive but worth the money got some crispy rice as an app as well as the filet mignon which is a perfect little size and the filet mignon is on the small plate section. We also got some Yaki udon and a few other things to share such as the cauliflower definitely would recommend this place. They do have an oil you can eat menu too catches. Everybody has to do the same all you can eat because they have two options one that has more expensive items on it I believe, but we didn't feel like that was necessary for us for the evening. Definitely would consider trying that though once. One thing I will say the steps were pretty dirty. I know that that sounds very minute, but I think that they really need a good scrubbing because they kind of gave me a little bit of an ick when I was walking up to the table. read more

We went to Mito this evening for an early dinner. The establishment looks pretty much the same as it did when it was Mansoon. We sat downstairs, which was comfortable. I personally like the upstairs seating it is a bit more intimate. We arrive for a 545 reservation, and we're seated immediately. Our server was jade, and she was professional, engaging, and attentive. We started with the dimsum taster, two of each, and the avocado salad. The presentation for both was appetizing, the dimsum was well prepared and flavorful. The salad was pretty large we shared it between 3 people. For our entrée we select the salmon and Mongolian grill. One salmon was medium the other was medium raw both were prepared perfectly. The salmon was fresh and I enj I enjoyed the mushrooms on top. The Mongolian grill was tender and well prepared. We also had Mai Tai which were prepared perfectly the ratio and flavors were just right. Definitely a quality enjoyable drink. Overall the experience was good, establishment was clean, service was attentive and knowledgeable. Would definitely go back, was a positive experience. Honestly the decor and theme is exactly the same as monsoon so if you liked that place then this one should be right up your alley. We sat upstairs and our tables were way too close together for comfort, you couldn't even push your chair out to get up if someone was at the table behind you so it was a little uncomfortable. My friend and I split the dim sum tasting-all 4 were good but the edamame dumpling stood out the most to me. They also gave us edamame for the table which was of course delicious. We also split the black truffle rice which is just a giant bowl of rice-could def use a protein but it was tasty. I also got the sweet potato tempura roll and the chicken lettuce tacos. Everything was delicious and I def over ordered but I wanted to try multiple things so I had plenty of leftovers. The lettuce tacos could easily be split also. I was disappointed with the dessert tho-I was really looking forward to trying the green tea tempura ice cream however they gave me vanilla instead and the waitress never came back to check on us so I couldn't swap it for the dessert I actually wanted.
