Jackie is by far the most phenomenal manager I've encountered in all my years of dining out. She is genuinely one of the kindest and most authentic people you'll ever meet and it shows in the way she leads her team. Thomas was exceptional as well. Between the two of them they made the entire experience unforgettable and are a big reason why I'll be returning again and again. The food was outstanding as always with high quality meats, fresh banchan, and perfectly prepared dishes. But what truly sets this place apart is the people. Here's the Scoop! My family and I came here to celebrate my grandsons birthday. We had so much fun. If you've never been here before let me tell you it's a blast! Upon getting your menu you choose hot pot or regular menu and then the fun begins. They light up the stove at your table and the food comes in and the grilling begins. This was our first time here and it was GREAT. This all-you-can-eat spot is a fun night out with friends or the family as you get to pick what you want and then grill it on the table grill. We really enjoyed this aspect of getting to cook our own chicken, steak, pork belly, shrimp, veggies, you name it! First off, what a Great place to "MEAT UP" with friends That is pretty much the main theme of the restaurant. You and perhaps 7 other guests order different grilling meats that are wheeled out to you on a table. Nicely organized in small bowls, and those bowls can mean just about anything on their menu. Then you the patron(s) at the table Grill up the different meats that you ordered picking off cooked pieces dipping them into their signature 3 different dipping sauces.  Ponzu sauce, Sweet soy sauce, and a Spicy chili paste. Note: I actually did not indulge in any of their delicious exotic drink specials. I gave JBBQ HOT POT & BBQ 4 starts because for me the food was just ok. One has to be into fried (grilled) meats in the first place. I come from a Thailand Food palet background and next to this food and their 3 dipping sauces it was just bland, not full of the taste that I am used to. The boiled pot of whatever you can throw in there equally didn't have any taste, so I may recommend bringing your own condiments from home including fish sauce and white vinegar that I like to bring, to name a few. It may help with the experience. As for the Deserts, it was just a small cup of vanilla or raspberry ice cream. I didn't see the so called 5 flavors in the front freezer while I was there. *Bathroom: one toilet in both the mens room and ladies room. So there may be a line. *Tables: can accommodate up to 8 people at a time as a group or 4 per table if needed. It was only my wife and I. Judging from bill for just 2 people and no alcoholic drinks we spent $87.96 for everything. Imagine that times 4 or 8 people? This place is really quality and one of those 4.5s that has the disbenefit of yelp not allowing half stars. The price is very reasonable, the selection is fantastic, the service is good and the ambiance is fun. No real complaints. Make sure to come hungry and don't over order because the portions are too big considering how many plates you're allowed per order. Last night I as the first time my husband and I went to a hot spot/bbq place. I LOVED it. I was confused at first but after I started going I got the hang of it. We both got hot pots and j was confused at first. But after a while I started getting the hang of it. This place you HAVE to come hungry. We were so full that we didn't even finish what we ordered. My husband got the spicy hot pot and I got the healthy herbs which both were great. With that, I ordered sliced brisket, enoki mushrooms, baby bok choy, and udon. My husband got the sliced pork belly, shrimp, spinach, and udon as well. For drinks I got the lychee martini and he got the sangria. Both were great as well. The service was great as well. It was difficult to know what was who's order so we ended up just sharing everything. The food was fantastic. Order less then add as you go. We underestimated the amount of food you get. The marinated meats were packed with flavor and everything cooked fairly quick. The hot pot broth was also great. They have soup base that have half of two different soup base which is an extra cost. They have a large selection of meats seafood, vegetables for hotpot and BBQ, and some cooked foods. They have some sauce that they bring to table which is used for dipping for meats. I found there meats are not as good quality, there vegetables were fresh. The server tells us to ordered five plates for each person to start off, and if need more you can order. The Pot was more flavorful than the BBQ. Service: 2/5 - Slow to visit the table. not very friendly. It was our first visit and the orientation was not very good. Service was "lethargic". Waitress turned off our grill before we were done. (We weren't there that long.) She should have asked first. Restaurant: 3/5 - Tables are too small. It was just two of us sitting at a 4 person table and there was almost no free space for anything to be put on the table. The pots are almost where you would eat. There is no room for plates. The plates are TINY. The bathroom door is unnecessarily complicated. The first time you try to go in you have no idea what' s going on with levers and contraptions. Pots turned off and we couldn't figure out why or how to turn them back on. Hitting the power button or high/low didn't work. We had to hunt to down the waitress to help us. The stools to sit on were uncomfortable after awhile. Cleanliness: 3/5. Not terrible but not great either. The grill gets very dirty. Value: 3/5 - You get a good amount of food for sure but it's basically $100 for two people after tip and tax. I think you get about 90 minutes of all you can eat. Which is fine. Parking: 2/5 - There are parking lots for the town that are paid and some free. You have to walk a bit. The parking in front of the place is metered. Overall: 3/5 - A ton of food that is messy to eat. A confusing layout if you are new to the establishment. There are so many food options that you're basically lost without the menu (which they took from us after we ordered.) This place is so much fun! The fact that you can get HotPot and grill food for a great price makes it even better! Although ordering for the first time is very overwhelming, once you've done it, it's so much fun. I've only been to 1 other Japanese BBQ spot other than this one and this one is by far the best! They change out the grill plates which really helps with the taste of the food. They are quick, clean and professional. They have an array of food options to fit the taste of almost everyone. Really wanted to love this spot but it was just a bit too much. We're from Virginia and have always dreamed of a hot pot/kbbq duo but this was just a bit overwhelming. The hot pot induction burners were positioned at the middle of the table at a far arms reach which was slightly annoying. After ordering sides for the hot pot the table was completely full prior to our KBBQ items arriving. CONS: Currently no sauce bar (however told they'd have one soon). Well, I was recommended to come here. So on my Dad and Uncles birthday I decided to bring them here - all 7 people in my family. The place was crowded for a day after a holiday - so that said to me this place must be good. The manager, Jess, is amazing. She's on point with her customer service. The hostess was great as well. Our waitress - not so much. She was never anywhere to be found. I do think the guy with long hair that was serving our other table (because we couldn't be together of how the tables are set up) he was great, too. So, let's start off by saying - if you have a big party.. The tables only sit 4 people because of how the grills are set up. So you're going to be sitting separately. And it's not close tables either. You won't be talking to each other - you'll be shouting. Because it's a small restaurant, I guess I see why they can't, but I've been to other hot pot restaurants where they do have bigger tables then they have the divider they can place anywhere, which is so smart. You have 90 minutes to eat - which I also didn't know. And that doesn't start when you get your food - that starts when you SIT DOWN - which we were told. The food options were okay - they don't tell you what it is when they hand it to you, so you're just guessing, which was extremely annoying to all of us. Just a fair warning - if you're at a table of FOUR, do not get the hot pot. You will have no where to put the 10 items you're able to choose. And the table will be absolute clutter. You can't fit anything on the table so you'll have to use a cart where your food is chilling beside the other tables with their legs and feet, and dust while the waitresses are rushing past. It's absolutely gross. This review is all over the place, I'm sorry - I'm typing as I think because there was so much wrong with this restaurant. The bar stools at the bar don't have foot rests which I thought were so weird, and there's none along the bar so your feet are just hanging - it's SO uncomfortable. And on a busy day, there is absolutely no room to stand in the lobby. Back to the table - They give you a cheesecake when it's your birthday, and they play a song and sing to you. The cheesecake was the nastiest I've ever had. I absolutely don't recommend anyone to come here. There are so many better korean bbq and hot pot joints in Queens where you get a great experience. But, for first timers - don't come here. Anyone who fave this place a 4 to 5 star rating has never been to a good hot pot restaurant. Also, so many times the waitress forgot the stuff we ordered or didn't come back when we requested forks or chopsticks. One great thing about this place, their drink called "tropical" - one of the best I've ever had. Loved it! Last I want to point out: their receipts. Everyone got up from my table, and our waitress was no where to be found so I couldn't ask any questions. I was so confused. They put the total and the gratuity (since it was over 6 people) and then below that they have another total including gratituty, which equalled MORE than the cost above. If you reference my photo you'll know what I'm talking about. I ended up changing the total to the price above. It took my family the entire car ride home to figure out what it meant, well - since I changed the total that meant the waiter got less because apparently the figures added tax, i'm sorry to be confusing but that computer system for receipts needs to be changed and the waitress would have been paid as she should. Came here yesterday evening with Yelper Lisa A and her friend for dinner. We first ordered the Hot Pot, intending on ordering the BBQ later. The waitress thoroughly explained how the Hot Pot "all-you-can-eat" works. You first order no more than five food ingredients and a choice of broth. Then once you are finished eating most of your soup, you can order some more ingredients to cook some more soup. You cook the food yourself. Our waitress provided each of us some soy sauce. Then she offered us six condiments to mix in our individual sauce bowls: garlic, peanut sauce, cilantro, jalapeño pepper, scallion and sesame seeds. Surprisingly ginger, which is a staple in Japanese households, was not among the condiments. Nevertheless, my custom-mixed sauce, which had everything but the peanut sauce, tasted magnificent. Each meat/fish ingredient tasted wonderful when dipped into our individual sauces. The sautéed pork gyoza appetizer was also divine. The shrimp shumai tasted bland but was better after it was dipped in the sauce. I chose the basic broth for my shabu-shabu. My dining companions each chose the curry. I selected five foods to cook in the broth: shrimp paste, calamari, tofu sheets, shiitake mushrooms and seaweed. We were so stuffed after consuming our meals that we could not even fathom ordering any BBQ. I give this restaurant four stars because of the relatively inattentive waitress. She did not come around as often as we would like. We had to look around for her to ask her for some soft drink refills or to order more ingredients for our Hot Pots. We all felt that our experience was just average. This is because none of us like cooking food at restaurants. We all prefer to be served, like how we are at Japanese steakhouses. This was my first time here and I was impressed. I did not order the Shabu Shabu. Instead I ordered the BBQ. You can choose amongst many different meats and cook it on this domed heat source. We cooked our own meats but I think they will cook it for you. I ordered the marinated pork, chili marinated beef and short ribs. The first two were so delicious and tender. The short ribs were tasty but a bit too chewy for my taste. You can order three meats at a time. I was so full after three but my husband had the steak cubes and they were also delicious. All of the food was very tasty. In addition to the meats, you can also order different small plates like shui mai, tempura shrimp and chicken wings. They also give you three different dipping sauces. Again, super delicious. The service was excellent and they seem to take safety protocols very seriously. It was very clean and there were partitions between each table. Everyone was wearing their masks properly. There's nothing more annoying than seeing someone with a mask on but their nose is not covered. Now the only reason I'm not giving five stars is the price. It's a bit pricy but I get it, it's all you can eat and you'll always pay a premium for that. And there are expensive meats and the portions are generous.
