Our waitress was amazing! The food is always super fresh and this is my fave local hot pot..I can't always get out to QUEENS. Super friendly and attentive..why order multiple drinks when ya can have one huge cocktail each w a151 flamed volcano! It's that time of year to be SOUPY!

Here's the Scoop! My family and I came here to celebrate my grandsons birthday. We had so much fun. If you've never been here before let me tell you it's a blast! Upon getting your menu you choose hot pot or regular menu and then the fun begins. They light up the stove at your table and the food comes in and the grilling begins. You must and I say must pace yourself when ordering. The food comes so fast and between grilling and eating it is a dance you try to keep up with that's hilarious. It's so much fun and a great time to be had. Definitely check this place out. Service is wonderful.

I recently celebrated my birthday with my girlfriends at a Korean BBQ restaurant, and it was my first time trying this type of dining experience. I absolutely loved it and will definitely recommend it to others--and return myself! The atmosphere was charming, and the concept of cooking the food at the table was so much fun. I love a hands-on experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and we left completely stuffed after trying everything we wanted. What really made the night unforgettable was our incredible server, Jessy. He was kind, helpful, and made the entire experience so much fun. Jessy gave great suggestions, helped us order, and it honestly felt like we had known him for years. I'll be back for sure--and I'll definitely call ahead to make sure Jessy is working. He was a top-notch server and deserves all the recognition!

So we decided to visit this JBBQ place over the weekend but our experience was only so so. The place looks nice enough but not sure if the plexiglass separator on the table is a throwback to Covid-19 or just a strange seating arrangement. Food was ok - with some meat being a little bland - maybe some better marinade? For the same price other table BBQ places have more items on the menu and where are the sauces? Service was quick & responsive. They also do have a lunch special.

First off, what a Great place to "MEAT UP" with friends That is pretty much the main theme of the restaurant. You and perhaps 7 other guests order different grilling meats that are wheeled out to you on a table. Nicely organized in small bowls, and those bowls can mean just about anything on their menu. Then you the patron(s) at the table Grill up the different meats that you ordered picking off cooked pieces dipping them into their signature 3 different dipping sauces.  Ponzu sauce, Sweet soy sauce, and a Spicy chili paste. Note: I actually did not indulge in any of their delicious exotic drink specials. I gave JBBQ HOT POT & BBQ 4 starts because for me the food was just ok. One has to be into fried (grilled) meats in the first place. I come from a Thailand Food palet background and next to this food and their 3 dipping sauces it was just bland, not full of the taste that I am used to. The boiled pot of whatever you can throw in there equally didn't have any taste, so I may recommend bringing your own condiments from home including fish sauce and white vinegar that I like to bring, to name a few. It may help with the experience. As for the Deserts, it was just a small cup of vanilla or raspberry ice cream. I didn't see the so called 5 flavors in the front freezer while I was there. *Bathroom: one toilet in both the mens room and ladies room. So there may be a line. *Tables: can accommodate up to 8 people at a time as a group or 4 per table if needed. It was only my wife and I. Judging from bill for just 2 people and no alcoholic drinks we spent $87.96 for everything. Imagine that times 4 or 8 people? You do the math. *Parking: is in the rear of the restaurant so enter from Third Avenue. Check the signs it is metered. I would have to say that although the taste of the food was bland for me, the ambience and setting for most might just be what the doctor ordered. :) The Review Guru* Long Island NY

There is variety of meats to choose from including varieties in chicken, beef, pork, and seafood. It can get overwhelming on what to choose but just go ahead and grab a few items to get started. The shrimp and the pork belly were awesome. Our waitress was the best. She was patient with us as this was our first time and we were asking a lot of questions. She even let us know when our time was nearing the point where we couldn't order more food. Apparently, you have a given window of time to order food to cook. This is not a fancy or romantic restaurant. The atmosphere is upbeat with contemporary music in the background and the smell of good food cooking.

Right from the start our group knew this would be an interesting experience. Only one of us had been here before so it was nice to be surprised with what was in store for us. The ambiance, greeter and especially to our waiter, Jessy were amazing. Jessy went all out with explaining the process and even put in some of his recommendations which were amazing! He was very personable and kind. I won't say what is involved since I loved the surprise. Don't get overwhelmed like I did because if you get someone like Jessy he will walk you through it with a whole lot of patience. When I go again, and I definitely will, I am requesting Jessy to take care of us. He made the experience that much more fun!

Last night I as the first time my husband and I went to a hot spot/bbq place. I LOVED it. I was confused at first but after I started going I got the hang of it. We both got hot pots and j was confused at first. But after a while I started getting the hang of it. This place you HAVE to come hungry. We were so full that we didn't even finish what we ordered. My husband got the spicy hot pot and I got the healthy herbs which both were great. With that, I ordered sliced brisket, enoki mushrooms, baby bok choy, and udon. My husband got the sliced pork belly, shrimp, spinach, and udon as well. For drinks I got the lychee martini and he got the sangria. Both were great as well. The service was great as well. She was informative and always came up to us if we needed anything else as well. Even when it go super busy. We will be coming back here again to try the BBQ part, and more do the hot pot.

Came here during the week for the $20 lunch special which includes hot pot and the BBQ. Service was excellent and food was fresh! Great deal during the week!

Stopped in during a holiday with a group of 8. They were very accommodating and the wait wasn't bad luckily. Personally, I think this would be more enjoyable with a smaller group since some of the menu items you have to coordinate with others and the tables/grills/hot pots get filled quickly with multiple people doing it at once. It was difficult to know what was who's order so we ended up just sharing everything. The food was fantastic. Order less then add as you go. We underestimated the amount of food you get. The marinated meats were packed with flavor and everything cooked fairly quick. The hot pot broth was also great. The food came out pretty quick to start cooking but it took a bit to get a server to turn on the grill. The service wasn't the best but it was pretty busy. I would come again with less people.

This is a hotpot and BBQ restaurant, you can have hotpot only or BBQ only or have both, but everyone at table must ordered the same hotpot or BBQ or both. We ordered both, you chose a soup base. They have soup base that have half of two different soup base which is an extra cost. They have a large selection of meats seafood, vegetables for hotpot and BBQ, and some cooked foods. They have some sauce that they bring to table which is used for dipping for meats. I found there meats are not as good quality, there vegetables were fresh. The server tells us to ordered five plates for each person to start off, and if need more you can order. There is a 90 minute seating, so at the one hour we were told last time to order it seem like we were being rush to eat. The service was very good.

If this place was in queens, I'd give it a 3 but since it's in Long Island, it gets a one up because it needs to be tailored to the taste of the locals in the area. I came here with my sister and brother in law... the inside of the restaurant is interesting. I like the concept of the hot pot x kbbq but not a fan of the Fact that everyone needs to order the same thing but guess it makes sense from a business. It's not queens but it's decent. As this and queens are equidistant from my house, I'd opt to go to queens but this is a nice alternative for people in Suffolk. We ordered - Takoyaki Thin beef brisket Garlic shrimp Garlic chicken Chili calamari Ribeye cubes Chili pork belly Angus steak Marinated short rib King mushroom Sliced onion Corn with cheese Lettuce Garlic I'd skip the takoyaki and calamari but otherwise everything was ok!

Happy hour is offered Monday through Friday from 4pm to 7:30pm and is served at the bar only. We were lucky to arrive early since we were told by several people that it gets very busy. We ordered a little bit of everything. For drinks, we tried multiple Komodo Dragon and Mango Madness cocktails, which were $7 each during happy hour. We also ordered several happy hour appetizers and rolls, including the pork gyoza, popcorn chicken, chicken tempura roll, California roll, and American Dream roll. Everything tasted great, the presentation was nice, and the customer service was excellent. I ordered a Yuzu Mule but didn't care for the flavor. The bartender was very accommodating and happily switched it out for another drink, which I really appreciated. The ambiance was welcoming, with dim lighting and beautiful wood decor. We really enjoyed our outing and plan to come back again to try more from the menu.

The decor was beautiful; I really liked the consistent use of their logo, proudly illuminated at all the tables, which gave the space a sophisticated appearance. Even the menus were nicely done. I found myself gazing at the pictures instead of picking out my meal. To start we ordered the Japanese Clear Soup and the King's Treasure Roll. Both starters were delicious. The soup was served hot, lightly seasoned, and it really felt like comfort in a bowl. The treasure roll was good; we just had a hard time trying to pick it up with the chopsticks, as it was very slippery. With a little patience, we managed to get it. For beverages, we went with the Blueberry Lemonade and Virgin Mojito. Although both were decent, they were a little underwhelming and could've used more flavor. Next time, I might just order the Pineapple or Mango Virgin Mojito to see if it's any better. Our Entrees were great. My husband ordered the Spicy Crabmeat Crusted Filet Mignon, and he demolished it. I chose to go with two specialty rolls, The American Dream Roll and Rock N Roll, both fantastic. For dessert, we chose the Matcha Cheesecake and the 3 Flavor Tempura Ice Cream (vanilla, chocolate, and green tea). The cheesecake itself didn't have a strong Matcha taste, but that matcha ice cream was all the way IT! I could've had a bowl of that and been very satisfied. Really, their ice cream game is solid, so good! Lastly, our server Nicole was the cherry on top. She was so welcoming and attentive, offering suggestions, and providing descriptions of the menu items, she never made us feel bad for asking "What's That". All in all, we had an awesome experience at Takumi and look forward to visiting again.
