The Thai curry soup lacked flavor. It wasn't spicy tasting but you could some red oil in it. There were hardly any glass noodles and just 3 pieces of chicken. The mushroom was sliced so thin it disappeared. The basil leaves were the best part. The Babylon burrito is a cute idea. It looks huge but tastes light. The reason I only gave two stars was because the food came out very sporadically. I was a group of 3 and we waited an hour and half for just some of our food to come out. Decided to try them out for takeout today. I've tried many sushi places around Babylon, but I never tried this place before that is just down the road from Ohayo sushi. Parking is a bit difficult because it gets really busy around lunch time for several places around Masa. I ended up parking in the parking lit down the street. We ordered take out at 1:02pm and gave them our phone number and name. They said it would take 25 mins. I arrived at Masa Sushi at 1:20pm and our order was sitting there ready to be picked up. The cashier was really nice, and I just gave my name and paid for the order. The place was packed. I can see that they get really busy even at 1pm in the afternoon. The place looks nice, clean, and organized. We ordered the sushi burrito, tuna roll, and yellowtail roll. The two regular rolls were part of a $12 lunch special, so it came with a soup and salad as well. The sushi burrito was $16 and came with spicy mayo. There was spicy tuna crunch, salmon, and avocado wrapped in rice & a sesame soy wrap. It was huge! The fish tasted really fresh and the texture was really pleasing we could tell they used high quality fish. I think this is my new favorite sushi place in Babylon, better than Ohayo sushi! I like their ratio of rice to fish in their sushi rolls. They use really little rice, and are generous with the fish portions. I also found out if you use the QR code on their takeout menu you get %10 off when you place an online order! I'll definitely use that deal for next time when I order from them. But here's what's we ate, we had a very smart Oyster special with those yakimodo or some shit oysters with wasabi, yuzu, scallion... real real smart. Creamy and a little ocean-y. I added soy and lemon to counteract that briney fishiness. The little mushroom roll was good and different but also... sort of like eating nothing... sort of pointless. The wasabi hulk was reminiscent of what I get from my hometown favorite place when they have it on special or they just want to make me feel special and agree to make it.... it was real real good. The 007 was tasty as well. That's all; This isn't my all time favorite place by any means but what they do is smart, and a little different than all your typical carbon copy sushi spots. read more

The food at Masa is some of the best in Babylon village. I like that they offer more than just Japanese cuisine. Their pad Thai is truly delicious and shareable. It's sweet, sour, and spicy with tender noodles and shrimp that melts in your mouth. You can add whatever protein you like but shrimp goes so perfectly with pad Thai in my opinion. The sushi is up to par with the other restaurants in Babylon and there are certainly a few others competing for your business. They also have really nice lunch specials that include soup and salad as well. The decor is sleek and dark. The quality of the tables and even the napkins they use mirror the food that's served alongside. I prefer eating here over places in the village because of this. There is more space and it just feels like you're in a nice spot. Throw in a litchi martini and you're fancy pants for a minute. The service is friendly, fast and timely. The meal was coursed properly by our server and items came out soon after we were finished with a dish. Our server removed empty dishes and wiped the table between courses. Nobody likes touching a dirty and sticky table so that is much appreciated. Masa is definitely a great choice for sushi if you happen to be in Babylon village. The food, atmosphere and service are all top notch. I have been there multiple times and will be returning for more. read more

We ordered appetizers and got them within 10 minutes. We ordered vegetable dumplings which had the right amount of crunch, not soggy at all. They have a sushi special that includes 3 classic rolls with soup or salad. We decided to try a few vegetarian rolls with some tuna and salmon rolls. They were all very fresh. This place is Probably one of the best Asian cuisine places I've ever went to. It's always clean and the staff is always so friendly. The prices are very reasonable, in my eyes, and their food always smells and tastes clean. The servers are always on top of everything and makes sure I always making sure I am ok and the food was good. Even when busy, the servers come to my table to make sure everything is going well for me and whenever is at the table with me. Celebrated Bonnie G. Birthday Saturday night and used Yelp SeatMe to book rezzy in Masa. After reading the reviews, particularily Mike S.'s and checking out his photos, we had to try Masa for the celebration. We had a 9 pm rezzy and I expected a full house but no so...in fact sushi bar was empty. Well, this gave us the opportunity to kibbutz with the Sushi Chef Kaysun and his two fellow Sushikateers. We started with sake and proceeded to work on the menu. Our Appy was Spicy Tuna Tuna Tartare...delicious. They gave us a comp appy; Fluke in a great sauce which had a nice bite to it. Then to the ala carte route for ordering: Sake Belly sushi and sashami Hamachi Belly sushi and sashami Ikura sushi Uni w/quail egg Unagi sushi Ika sushi NY Roll More sake more sake Then we met Sandy, who with her sister are owners of Masa...wonderful people. Sandy bought us another Sake and joined us in Kampai'ng each shot. In fact they had some Masu's and I poured my sake into it and drank from the square traditional Japanese sake wood cup. The wood aroma with the sake was joy! Everything was delish and served with a smile. We enjoyed the karma particularily because it wasnt so crowded that the noise would be deterring from our "party". After spending a day shopping at the Tanger Deer Park outlets we worked up an appetite and decided it was for some good sushi. Do a Yelp search and what do we find -- "They are definitely knocking Kotobuki out of the water.", "This outstanding new hot spot hosts the best sushi on Long Island.". My curiosity is piqued! Then I see a review from a friend who's reviews I respect (Looking at you Kaitlin M.) that seals the deal. Walked in late afternoon on Sunday and the place is empty except for one couple - to be expected for the odd dining time. I noticed the decor is a lot of dark wood grain and colored lights that is typical of many sushi places opening as of late. Did I make a wrong choice, I wonder? Thankfully NO! We order the Spicy Crab and Cucumber salad (Kani salad in most places), the generous salad has a well balanced spiciness to it - a really excellent version. We decide on some rolls to share. We order 4 and when they bring it out they are some of the largest rolls I've ever seen served in a sushi place - WOW! The yellow-tail with scallion is a dense maki cylinder made mostly of the fish and a thin layer of rice. The rainbow roll is done different here from most places with yellow-tail and cucumber in the center instead of a California roll, impressive! The White Tiger has spicy crab on top with tuna, salmon and yellow-tail inside - delicious. The Christmas tree roll is similar, but less expensive and without the spicy crab. What made this place so great was that with all the generous portions of fresh delicious fish is that it didn't break the bank either! You get your money's worth and then some! Doing a reading of the reviews it seems this place is an upgrade from the recently shuddered Sakura, which seems like it had a following in Babylon. I can see why with the generous portions of fish, good prices and service this place is an all around winner! read more

Stopped back in here this past weekend and it seems that Masa is like good wine, and keeps getting better with time! We had a few things which were all well above your average Japanese establishment. From the outside, you wouldn't guess Masa would be anything special. You would be wrong. The menu is immense. Tons of special as well. We started with a roll off of their specials. A Wasabi Hulk. A roll with tuna, mango, avocado and jalapeño. Topped with Cajun tuna, wasabi mayo and crushed wasabi peas. It sounds like it would be super spicy. It isn't. The perfect amount of bite and the wasabi peas were a great touch. Added just the perfect amount of crunch. I had the sushi/sashimi combo for an entree. They are the only sushi place that does spicy edamame the right way!!! All of their dumplings are homemade it's like having fresh pasta but Japanese style. Try the wasabi shumai too unreal!
