Dan Dan Noodles Crab Meat and Pork Soup Dumplings and Pork and Shrimp Wonton Noodles Soup
    Jessica P.

Just came here with my daughter on Columbus Day. It's definitely a hole in the wall, but their food is wonderful. I would steer very clear of the awful service given at red river which is literally a 2 minute walk from this place and come here instead! We got dan dan mien, soup dumplings, sautéed Bok choy and wonton soup. Everything was fresh and flavorful. If we're ever in the area we won't hesitate to stop here again. Thanks Tao's!!

This place is within a shopping plaza adjacent to Stonebrook Road. The food is decent if you want a quick bite of Dim Sum. I especially recommend pig trotter this. The service quick, and the ambience is casual. The food is OK but not phenomenal for the price.

Havent been here in a while and looks like they changed their menu around. Ordered the slow cooked pork belly in brown sauce rice box. It was $10. Hubby moves pork belly and thought it was really good. I love the wet peanuts it came with. I like how it had a nice mix of fatty and skinny pieces of pork belly. The sauce was good as well

    24. Brisket Noodle Soup $9. One of the best beef noodle soups I've ever had!

I was so surprised by the quality of the food! A simple take out/dim sum restaurant in Stony Brook with the taste of the heart of Asia. Beef noodle soup: The beef was so, so tender, and they gave so many pieces that I and the 2 people I shared the bowl with were super satisfied! Soup was incredibly flavorful and noodles delightfully chewy. I've eaten at some of the best beef noodle places in Asia (Yong Kang Noodles in Taiwan, the country that basically invented beef noodle soup), and this was a fierce competitor! Soup dumplings: These were so much larger than I was expecting! They were generous with their portion of meat and the soupy-ness was to die for. My mom was born and raised in Taiwan and she was so happy with these dumplings. A must order. Dip in soy sauce, take a bite and slurp up the juice before it spills out! Please give this place a visit and be blown away by the flavor. Always willing to support a family owned business. Will come back again soon!

BUYERS BEWARE. They took advantage of the students. They over charge for the Mala Hot Pot. and give small servings. We ordered by portion numbers and paid $28 but got very little food. The lady said they measure one portion by how much she grabs in each hand so it really depends on her mood.

    Very disguisting

We were very excited thinking about getting some authentic Chinese food today. The service was awesome. But the food was ... The worst Jian Bin I've ever seen and had. It had old dry disgusting bean paste, one lettuce, stone hard expired cruller. Pancake itself was old, soggy, cold totally inedible. Burned lukewarm flavorless dumplings, and broken lukewarm tasteless soup meat buns.

    Shrimp wonton noodle soup

Came here after I was really craving shrimp wonton noodle soup. First of all, the place is really tiny with little seating. The prices were also kind of expensive, the shrimp wonton noodle soup, pork soup dumplings and a can of coke cost me $20.10, in Queens that would cost less than $15 easily. The service was good but the food was just okay; the noodles were actually kind of undercooked which I enjoyed, but the broth wasn't clear like I usually see. The wontons were good. As for the soup dumplings, they didn't really contain much soup inside. Wouldn't come rushing back; I should've either made my own wonton noodle soup from ingredients purchased next door or gone elsewhere.

    Very small counter

Small, Very small, tiny even. The line was out the door but the lady behind the counter was kind and patient with me. I thought it was going to be more of a sweet cake bakery. But it seemed the highlight was the Dim Sum & Bubble Tea, which I forgot to order because I got excited when I saw they had chicken feet. The chicken feet were flavorful but cold. I wasn't expecting that twist. Now I wasn't sure if they were supposed to be cold or she got suddenly swamped & rushed them. So I saved them to take home & heated them up. When I did that, they were what I had hoped they would be when I ordered them. If that makes any sense. The Beef & Scallion Meat Pies were really good. They reminded me of an oversized fried dumpling except they were round, kind of round. A man & his son standing outside told me to get the dumplings, but the feet swayed me. So my next visit I will make sure to get the dumplings & Bubble Tea.

hot pot menu there's a 3.75 Extra charge for the spice level you pick as well so just keep that in mind
    Serena W.

please beware they like to grossly overcharge for the create your own hotpot i read a recent review and remembered that they did the same to me a few years ago and it looks like i wasn't the only one :/ serving sizes aren't clear cut at all so they kind of seem to just make it weigh whatever they want it to. mine was vegetables only, no noodles or meat whatsoever and it still over 22 dollars for mine so i think until they clarify that somehow and set the weight/price beforehand you're better off ordering something else

The owner is really nice. The cumin lamb sandwiches are pretty good. Seasoned well and the bun is nicely fried.

Does this place sell Moon Cakes?

They do not as far as I can tell. That would be awesome though.

When the Spice Workshop opened a few years ago, we tried this restaurant. You can either eat in or take out. This establishment is a game changer! It's located in a small strip mall and has an unassuming presence. Once entering, everything quickly changes. You are greeted by a lovely staff member. The menu is incredible and may require a bit of time to order because of the extensive and diverse variety of cuisine. The food is served hot with large portions served carefully to meet your preferences - whether you dine in or take out. If this wasn't enough to convince the customer that this is the place, then the exceptional freshness, quality and taste of your order is incredible. No longer will we dine anywhere else. If you dine in, your water glass is refilled without you having to ask. The staff are very attentive to detail which is clearly reflected in the over sized portions, quality and cuisine. The interior of the restaurant is simple, inviting and you easily enjoy your meal in a leisurely manner. I'm conservative in my opinions. Recently, I invited a friend to dinner. I didn't expect to hear his compliments through his meal. He mentioned that he was overly impressed. If you're searching for a fabulous restaurant with a large menu and attention to your wishes, then Stop, Don't Pass Go and Reward Yourselves. You've found it! The servings are so generous that you're still be enjoying your meal the next night.
