I've gave this place the benefit of the doubt by returning once more after a bad experience. The first time food was old and cold, however the variety of foods brought me back hoping that it was just a bad day like we all have, 2nd. time I came in with my family, only to find out that food was again older and colder, in 2 cases food was so hard-rock it wasn't edible anymore, other dishes were even empty and left behind. Definitively not coming back and due to its nature I cannot recommend it to anyone either. read more

Closes at 10 pm. We got here at 9... staff was tired, ignored us, food was missing. They began cleaning at 9:20pm. Began sweeping near our feet while we ate. They were ending the ice cream machine. I came here to have lunch with my husband. It was our first time eating here. We thought to have a nice lunch together since we never have time to do so. The place as I walked it was really clean. The staff was nice and welcoming. Although the food is another story. My first plate consisted of siracha chicken, fried rice, cream cheese wontons, stuffed mushrooms and orange chicken. To start off the siracha and orange chicken were cold even after staying under a heat lamp and food warmer. The chicken was also super old soggy and stale. The rice was flavorless and old. The stuffed mushrooms were also very old, dry, and rubbery. Their selections on sushi is ok but not fresh. I had the egg drop soup and that was probably the only things that I actually enjoyed eating. I also had the fresh made noodle stir fry. It would of been delicious if it had flavor. That was the first and last time I will ever visit this place. In my opinion it's the worse food I ever had. read more

The hot foods are just ok such as the orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, chow mien, chicken skewer, bbq beef, etc. But I think the cold/fresh items are good and make it worth the visit. The oysters, and mussels were fresh. The shrimp and crab legs were good. The sushi (standard rolls plus they had salmon nigiri) was actually good. They had spicy cucumbers, seaweed salad, kimchi, and a spicy cold calamari salad that were good as well. Lot of variety to choose from. The staff was great also. I'll return. read more

This is fairly decent Chinese Buffet. Interestingly enough, they have a fairly nice sushi bar, that is actually pretty good. I was surprised to see this at a buffet, and also because it was pretty good. My friend and I frequent this place, and he loves the sushi. Now keep in mind, its a buffet, so the food isn't always right out of the kitchen fresh, but when I have gone there its been pretty fresh for buffet. The times I have been, almost always at dinner time, they have done very well to keep the food pans filled. The food is pretty good, and I always leave full. They have a fairly large selection of different dishes to try. Their cheese and crab won tons are fantastic!! The service is good. My drink is always filled, and they have the silverware to the table right away. Its a large place, so we have never had to wait for a seat. The customer service is extremely terrible at this place. I have asked for some Salmon Sashimi from the sushi counter as the plate holding the item was empty. However, this man that worked behind the sushi counter grab the plate and angrily basically threw the plate onto his cutting board and unwillingly put a few pieces of Sashimi onto the plate. Later on the evening, I have asked for the same item once again and this man was doing the same thing by throwing my plate onto the cutting board and gave me a few pieces of Sashimi unwillingly and with a really bad attitude; I don't think I will visit that place ever again. Lies! Took my "Children" to this restaurant because the coupon said "Children" under 10 eat free. After we had eaten, and I went to pay the bill, they decided that the coupon was only for one "child". In trying to explain that the English on their coupon meant more than one child, they just said sorry that's the way it is. Not a friendly place and they don't understand the power of the Internet. Instead of just giving a couple of children a free meal they will now have to face the fact that they Will get a horrible review and hopefully lose a lot more money than what they scammed away from me. We went during fathers day, its hot as heck inside with 100 people or so and had no ac. Of course all this heat got me sweating trying to enjoy food. The food was okay, most likely first and last time there. Prices for a buffet was 15 all day, food quality was like a 2. Not as appetizing as id hope so. But if you want something easy and fast with a huge quantity then go here. =) I would love it if half of the workers at least spoke basic English, I couldnt even redeem my free soda coupon lol! The food at Mitsui was what could be expected at a buffet. It was decent tasting. But about a half our later I couldn't hold the food in my stomach... The food wasn't the worst part. When ordering drinks we had to point at their drink menu. Our waitress knew three words in English; diner, tip, and thank you. We had come in at what I believe to have been the lunchtime. We finished and waited for the check which came out a 4:03. I'm guessing lunch ended at 4. When this happened we asked what time lunch ended. We got one word in response, "dinner." A bit angered we paid and as we were leaving the waitress and cashier lady asked about a tip! Never will I return to Mitsui when better service is offered at Panda Express and the food doesn't come back up. read more

I used to love this place. Me and my girlfriend would go here over the rest because they didn't use msg and the food tasted great. On Sunday mornings was the best. They made special sushi for the early customers. The last couple of times though. It was full of msg, I got full fast. I can't get myself to go back sorry. The last great buffet in Fresno is Ole Frijole. They've never put msg in their food since I was a kid. I don't know why owners fall for that. This is my favorite Chinese buffet in Fresno , specially dinner . They have a sushi bar which is always fresh , Mongolian bar that offers shrimp , steak , chicken or pork , plus now if you register they send you coupons all the time . I went last Saturday and I paid $42 for diner for 3 adults , can't beat the flavor and the price . The servers are always attentive of your very need . Not worth it. Gave the place another chance after waiting a year and now I remember why I haven't been back. Went on a Sunday around 7pm and most of the entrees were empty. Saw a couple customers asking for crab legs and the workers would give some to them on a plate from the back but not refill the tray? IDK. Sushi was mediocre. Food were ok. Hit or a miss on some of the dishes as far as flavor goes. If you're looking for something quick, easy, just alright; ok go. Best Asian buffet in Fresno area. My favorite spot to eat when I'm in Fresno. The food is really good and the place is clean.

Food is pretty good here. I love thier fried fish. They also serve pho and sushi. The only bad thing is some days they don't have crawfish or maybe they don't have crawfish during lunch hour when I went on a weekday, I don't know. Service is a bit slow sometimes but overall good experience. I use to love coming here because it was my mom's favorite buffet place. I would give them another star if they had crawfish everyday including lunch time! read more

This new Japanese Buffet sits on the old grave site of two other buffets, first Golden Corral, then Shakey's..which was so bad we shan't speak of it. That new Shakey's was an insult to anyone that grew up in the 80's and would go there after a little league game. I wonder if third time will be a charm for this buffet spot? This is a Japanese/Chinese themed buffet. Tons of sweet and sour, orange this and broccoli that. Everything was fresh, but I was there 30 minutes after they opened. There was nothing really unique or special about the hot food side other than the amount of items they have out at once. Counting salads and soups they must have more than 30-40 items out. They have a pan fried noodle section where you can put together your own noodle plate in the Mongolian BBQ fashion. You plate up you want from noodles, meat and veggies, give it too the attendant and he fries it up for you on a teppanyaki plate. I think this is the best and freshest way to go here. They serve a fairly strong selection of sushi. They had tuna and hamachi sushi (albeit on huge mounds of rice), California rolls and and a selection of 5 or 6 rolls with the standard trendy flavor wheel of sauces. I don't care much for brown, white and pink drizzle. But it's better than anything I've seen at other buffets. They've dressed the place up, nothing special but it looks new. They have a lot of people working there, I'm assuming to make a good impression during their grand opening. Everyone was very friendly and efficient. The price is what grabbed me, without drink my lunch was under $7. That is a big restaurant, lots of employee's and a whole lot of dishes for that low dollar amount. I'd go again, buffets aren't really my thing but sometimes it's the right call for a difficult party. As far as buffets go this one is decent and a very good value. read more

Gross! One star because the service was ok. Food was disgusting. Their pizza looked stale and have seemed to been out for days, fries looked stale, sushi tasted funky. I don't usually give bad reviews, I'm pretty lenient.. but this place really seemed to upset me, not to mention.. the pricing-- if they're going to charge that much, I expect at least DECENT quality.. don't waste your money on take out like we did. We took a plate to go and it costed us an additional $16 and it wasn't even full! We only took a one plate because my brother wanted to bring food to his gf.. It really hurts to write this review, but I have to. We've always loved Mitsui and we came for lunch today to celebrate some good news we had. Everything was going fine, until I looked at a waiter that was sitting at a more reserved area (it was around 11:30, there weren't a lot of people at the restaurant) chilling. He was frantically poking his ear and flinching the earwax with his fingers. Needless to say, that totally killed our vibe and we just wanted to go home. Okay, I saw the bad reviews: however, I go there for my birthday every year and stop in when I can't make up my mind where to eat in Fresno. I live in the mountains and only come to Fresno about every other month. They are very nice there and respectful. If you have any questions they are more than happy to help. I dine at 5 Star restaurants and that's what they are five star ( oh my god). This place really deserves NO STARS. The food was a good selection but the service..., the service is the worst I've ever had! They took our plates quickly and when it was time to pay they literally stand next to you and wait for the bill. I came with my 2 year old son and my friend with her 3 year old brother. As I went to go get dessert the lady came with the bill and handed it to my friend. When I came back to the table my friend told me that the lady TOLD my friend to pay up && TIP her right away. My friend replied with "we aren't even finished". And the lady walked away. When we were getting ready to go, I took out my wallet to pay and I could see the lady walking really fast to my table & stood over me as I took my money out. I was really pissed off! She then took the money and counted it as she walked away. Didn't ask if we needed change or anything so we took off. A server who didn't give good service & asks for a tip, does not deserve a tip. & too bad cuz I normally tip. read more
