Fantastic Asian supermarket on the second floor of the international marketplace. They have Ramen and Wagyu and everything that you might want from an Asian market. Both fresh to take home and cook as well as pre-cooked and to eat there as a meal. My go to place to buy quick lunch / eats nearby. I love japanese eats and for something quick and priced reasonably this is the best spot to grab something. I have enjoyed buying the black cod bento rice plates here because for the price and the amount you pay its a deal to enjoy black cod fish that is grilled with sushi rice, along with sides of mac salad, pickles. The fish is tender and cooked perfectly with the soft rice and the mac salad is delicious as well. They are priced the same so I usually pic the 2 slabs of fish that are larger than others. LOL Quick snacks of buying ice cream cones from japan costing $9 and you get 6 cones with 2 different flavors. Also tapioca bowls, and japanese custard cups also fresh sushi rolls are available. They charge for a bag here so you are better off grabbing a "vegetable produce" bag nearby the sushi roll area and bagging your items and eating your food in their food court area where I hear the ramen spot there is delicious. The food court has a microwave to reheat bento plates and also they offer a hot water pot for ramen bowls to be eaten. You have to hunt down napkins and utensils so its best to ask the cashier for these items before you leave the cash register. Across this store is the Magnolia halo halo ice cream shop. Cute Japanese convenience store with a nice selection of drinks, food, and groceries. I stopped by for a quick lunch and grabbed some sushi. Sushi was just ok, 7-11 taste better. While browsing, I noticed a very small section of face masks, and surprisingly they had the exact masks I'd been desperately looking for. I couldn't find them anywhere else, not even Don Don Donki or Don Quijote have them. So I immediately bought three packs, which should last me for the next several months. Definitely a convenient stop with some unexpected gems! read more

We love Mitsuwa. We come here every time we're in the area. They have a variety of good eats and easy to grab items. They also have a wide selection of drinks. There's two restaurants you can get hot foods from. There's a bunch of gacha machines you can get little toys from (though it's quite pricey). Sometimes the lines can get long depending on the time of day you're there, but the service is usually pretty fast, so even long lines are not too tedious. Whenever I have to come in to work early, I always stop here at Mitsuwa Marketplace. Their ready made foods are awesome, and the Mentaiko Spaghetti is my absolute favorite go to! They've definitely got Waikiki pricing, so be ready to spend some $$. But it tastes good, and decent portion sizes, so it's worth it. Mitsuwa Marketplace is not unique to Hawaii as there is one not far from where I live but I will have to say this Mitsuwa is so amazing that I visited almost literally every day I was in Waikiki earlier this year. They're in the International Market Place on Kalakaua Ave. They're located on the 2nd floor tucked away in a corner and they're in a large space with some food vendors in the back. Their selection of both dry and fresh items is fantastic, and I ended up eating light meals here throughout my vacation. Mitsuwa is a MUST! We don't have a Mitsuwa Marketplace in Atlanta so I of course made sure to stop by while exploring the International Marketplace in Waikiki. It's a bit smaller than I imagined it would be but it has the essentials. I was more interested in the prepared foods (aka the sandos, bentos and sushi) than the grocery section but it was still nice to see the selection of Japanese snacks and such. I loved the egg sandwich that i picked up for a quick and easy lunch. There is also a small food court in the back that now houses a small (but well known) Go Go Curry that used to be a Modo mochi donut shop when I visited in 2022. I loved Modo so it's sad to see they didn't make it - hope Go Go Curry does better - it seemed very busy when we were shopping. If you need Japanese snacks and goods quick, Mitsuwa would be your best bet! read more

Mitsuwa has always been my go-to spot in Waikiki. Working in the area has always been both challenging to find a decent meal that doesn't break the bank. Finding a substantial meal that's less than $20 is nearly impossible in the area unless you're just looking for something to snack on. There's at least one aisle that's dedicated to cosmetics (makeup and skincare). I was kind of expecting more from this shop. I wish they had a bigger tea selection. SERVICE -- They offer a small discount when you show them a Hawaii state ID. Cashiers are friendly and efficient. AMBIANCE -- I find that the shop is very grey in hues. 10/10 - still my favorite place to come and get some great food and take a break in Waikiki. No matter where I am in Waikiki, most likely I'll be eating here. Love the deals and love all the fresh bentos and sides. The cashier's are all friendly and helpful. I also love that it's so easy to access more of Waikiki when you park in International Marketplace. And if I need validation, it's so easy for me to spend $25 here because I love all the products here! You definitely can't beat this hidden little grocery store in the middle of Waikiki with great food, great deals, and A/C. Also, I'm slowly finding out that the wifi is pretty fast here! A cute, clean, and spacious market in International Marketplace. Mitsuwa is located at the top level in the corner near Magnolia. The market has some food stands inside like a curry spot, along with more grab-and-go items. There are also other items inside, such as toys. There is a section of toys called a Gashapon Stand. The food items looked good but they did seem a bit pricey. We ended up getting a musubi from a stand inside the marketplace that seemed to make them there. We got the mentaiko musubi, which ended up being about $5. This seemed like a bit much, but it was a good musubi. The rice was good, and the flavor was as well. The woman working was very sweet and waited for us to decide. While it was a bit pricey for me and International Marketplace can be as well, it was a nice market. read more

The items are well-organized, but they are definitely limited in their selections - their snack area as well as their stationery corner is seriously lacking. The Mitsuwa Marketplace is a must visit when staying in the Waikiki, Honolulu area. We always find some international treats or beverages at this Japanese grocery store. Plenty of grocery items from nonfood items to food, frozen items and a good variety of beverages (alcoholic as well). Pleasant staff and always clean and welcoming. In the upper floor of the International Market Place we stumbled upon Mistuwa, a Japanese grocery store with delicious bento boxes! After paying we were able to heat up our food in the microwave. There was some seating outdoors where we decided to eat instead of taking back to the hotel. We tried a variety of sushi, salmon, and fried oysters. These were all fresh and tasty but the fried oysters were the highlight for me! Incredibly yummy food at great value. Would highly recommend a visit during your trip! read more

Came here with my adventure walking pal. She wanted to try the new crepe place, Mochill. Mochill is located in Mitsuwa Marketplace. Mitsuwa Marketplace is located in the International Marketplace. Second floor towards Kunio Avenue. Parking is plentiful but expensive! You will need to purchase at least $25.00 at the store for a two hour validation. There are so many items here imported from Japan, such as household goods, hair dyes, makeup, and food items. The prices are on the moderate to high range. Many locals and visitors come here for the freshly made bentos and sashimi! There's even a kamaina discount. State ID or Hawaii drivers license is required. Stop by for ono bentos and crepes. But watch your parking time limit! We went over the two hours by a few minutes and paid $$ for it! The market was well lit and clean. read more

This is one of the coolest stores hidden in the old International Market Place. Clean, cool, spacious with affordable goods is the perfect Knick knack store. I felt like I was entering a Daiso/Shirokiya store with yummy Japanese snacks such as milk green tea hard candy, cold coffees and teas, wasabi chips, bagged ramen, kitchen goods, laundry and bathroom products. The premade bentos were huge and affordable. Tempura, sushi, teriyaki, soba, rice, musubi etc. There are eateries and restaurants in the store that are definite must trys. My mom had heard about this curry place and really wanted to check it out. It was a little surprising that it was IN the market, but we found it! I've been to the Mitsuwa's on the mainland, so I knew there should be a little food court inside, but it doesn't seem like it when you peak in. The food area is at the very back, with lots of little chairs and tables. Upon walking in, they also had ready-made food for purchase like spam musubi and juice boxes, which was perfect for my toddler. They have a Kama'aina discount, so be sure to ask! My mom and I both got katsu curry and it was delicious! I don't venture out to Waikiki often, so won't make this a regular spot, but if you are in the area, it's definitely worth stopping by. I have a super super low tolerance for spice and the weird thing is, I could gobble up the curry with rice and meat but once the meat was gone, the curry was way too spicy for me. The meat and the rice really help mute the spiciness of the curry, but I could not handle just the curry. Overall it was clean, well-maintained and had decent prices. We went to their food court to eat the Kanazawa curry rice plate which was alright., their beer draft beer reasonably priced. It's a quiet place to go but the food services closes early at 8pm. I saw many tourists stop by to see if opened. I've forgotten to take the Gachopon anime capsule that was place next to the tables and the store! The crepe stall we didn't order it was closing and we were the last customer ordering curry. The store will validate parking $25 at the eateries and or shop. Keep your receipts. Mitsuwa in San Diego is one of my favorite places to go for sushi, ramen, bento and food shopping so I had to see the Hawaii version which is a much smaller scale of food vendors and shopping but same concept of good quality, fast and easy. What caught my eye was a uni vendor but too bad they were closed but Saving for next time. This is a great place to stop for bento if you're going to the beach, on the plane or just hungry and can't wait to eat. There's even a microwave to warm things up if you need.
