I was looking at matcha places in Waikiki and found this spot! I walked over and it was inside of the hotel on the right. Since I came around 4 pm they ran out of musubis sadly. I ordered a matcha latte and it was soooo life changingly delicious!!!! I drank it while laying in the beach and a stranger even came up to me and commented that it must be good based on my facial expression. I even went back the next day to try another one! I wish my vacation was longer so I could've tried all the drinks. read more

Fantastic little giving gem inside a hotel in Waikiki. Not far from the Honolulu Zoo! Fabulous fresh musubi in so many different flavors. I got both the spicy tuna and the miso salmon which had kale in them. Fantastic! They also had creative flavors like jalapeño spam, jerk chicken, and many other choices. Also all kinds of matcha drinks including regular, strawberry and banana cream, and coffee, which was super tasty. read more

It is located inside a hotel. Very cute and great service. They have a good amount of options to try. I tried the banana cream matcha which was really good but I didnt care for the banana chips but it made it cute. I love that they have a variety of musubi options. This was my first one ever. I tried the jerk chicken and was so good. I'd eat it again forsure. Definitely will be back again. read more

What a cute little matcha place! Inside a small hotel, the matcha shop is to the right, you won't miss it. They have a good selection to choose from and also have tasty musubi's. I got the banana matcha and wow that was tasty. Their cold brew coffee was also strong and great! Service was awesome and the employee was helpful on what she recommended. I stopped by here while on a walk and had to pop in. Located inside Hotel Renew (which is also such a cute boutique hotel), the line was already long, which I took as a good sign. The menu is limited, but I ended up with a hojicha. There is limited seating, but people that sit, don't really stay for the long because the drinks come in an 8oz cup. There are a few musubis you can order from, and I ended up ordering the egg and bacon, which was delicious! The service was fine--everyone was kind but not overly nice. Drinks and food came out relatively quickly for how busy they were. Either way, this was a cute spot and the food and drinks were very good. If you are in the area, stop by! read more

This place is located in a hotel lobby. The drinks themselves are so aesthetically pleasing. My friend and I ordered and then took a stroll down to the beach. Ambiance is truly so beautiful. I would definitely recommend this place and would come back again. I will say, the prices are pretty pricey compared to what I am used to but overall seem to be consistent with local pricing for matcha. read more

It was great as usual! I took my friends from LA here since it was just a short walk from their hotel and they were extremely impressed with the Coconut Mango Matcha and Banana Cream Matcha. The musubis they agreed with me were contemporary and not the usual Musubi they were expecting but still enjoyed it nonetheless. Had so much fun and it wasn't a rush hour time so we stayed indoors with the small seating area and was able to chat and enjoy our drinks together. Super chill place to wind down and relax located in Hotel Renew. I can imagine when more visitors arrive at the hotel that this place can get noisy - in that case I'd recommend walking with your Musubi and matcha to the beach! My friends liked it so much that they actually returned a second time to order their strawberry matcha which they also enjoyed as well. read more

Came to try the matcha lattes here as it's been trending on social media. Very easy to park at the zoo or shell and walk over a block away. I definitely think the space is small but quiet. I tried the seasonal flavor (pumpkin spiced) matcha with oat and my gf had the banana matcha latte. It was alright but not the best matcha - a little too milky for my liking. The price points are high as well - $9??! Without the additional pricing for plant milks and extra accouterments. Their musubis are also quite expensive from $7-9. We opted to get our food elsewhere. read more

In the lobby of Renew Hotel, As You Like is an unassuming matcha and musubi spot perfect for grabbing to enjoy before walking a block to the beach. There are a few tables and a cute fountain with fish inside and the staff is very nice. I ordered a banana matcha one day and a strawberry matcha the next and they were both delicious and perfectly not too sweet. We loved the tamago aka egg musubi because it had salted pickles and the tried and true spam musubi are my toddlers favorite breakfast. read more

It was pretty good, a lighter (and smaller) matcha latte spot with cute vibes. Located inside the renew. hotel, ambience was dim yet peaceful. There were a few patrons during our 15-minute visit at a few high top tables. Decor and theming are cute. They also offer various filled musubi that we did not try. My mom enjoyed her hojicha banana drink. Main reason for my 3 star review is the Matcha mango: I did not love the ?li hing saltiness with the mango and matcha, and the drink overall felt a little watery/weaker to me. This cute cafe is in Waikiki, located along Paoakalani Ave inside Hotel Renew. There's usually a sign for the cafe outside on the street that guides you to the entrance. Unfortunately there isn't much seating available, just one or two tables inside the cafe with some stray chairs located in the lobby of the hotel. I found that service was generally quick and helpful. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte and a spicy tuna musubi. Both came out relatively quickly, within 5-10 minutes of waiting. To be honest, I found the matcha to be really disappointing. At the price of around $9, the drink itself was rather small, and it tasted mostly milky. I couldn't really detect the taste of matcha or strawberry. I quite liked the musubi; even though it was pretty expensive for being rather small, it was quite tasty. Given the quality of the matcha, I don't think I would come back here to try their drinks. If you're looking for musubi, however, you can definitely give one of their flavors a shot. read more

cute cafe located in Hotel Renew which is right behind the hotel where Tiki's Restaurant is. Theyre a very small hotel so its easy to miss, but there is a sign out front that there is a cafe inside for easy navigation. The hotel itself is cute - boutiquey like. The valet staff was really friendly and opened the door for us. The cafe itself is located on the right hand side once you enter in. It's a small space but perfect for where it is and the size of the building. They have some merch, drinks, and musubis for sale too. I picked up a coffee drink which i didn't really care for, but my friend enjoyed her matcha. read more

This matcha spot is located inside of Hotel Renew. The interior is really nice and it's located to the right of the lobby. They also serve musubis but you have to go early since they run out of it pretty quick. It was a small cute shop with other non matcha drinks in their little fridge. If you're staying in Waikiki I would definitely say it's worth the work. Staff: Nice (5/5) Sanitation status: Really clean (5/5) Kuromitsu Hojicha (5/5) The Hojicha here was really good. I think the addition of the kuromitsu was a nice sweetner to the drink but if you're used to drinking drinks with less sugar then I would ask them to go lighter since it was on the sweeter side. Stopped by As You Like Waikiki, a new tea & coffee spot inside Hotel Renew, and I'm so glad I did! Such a cozy little find! :) Matcha Strawberry with Oat Milk light, milky, and not too sweet. I'd say 7.5/10 Hojicha Kuromitsu with Oat Milk totally surprised me! It gave boba milk tea vibes and I actually really liked it 8/10 Tried their Bacon/Egg/Spam wrap ($8 each) it's not your usual spam musubi but more like a Japanese-style wrap with sweet egg, bacon, purple cabbage, kale, rice, and seaweed. A little pricey but filling! 7.5/10 Love their cute packaging and fun concept found out their original café is actually from Brooklyn. Plus, the sweetest barista ever! Only one person working but she was so kind and fast with everything. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Waikiki and craving something matcha or hojicha! read more

I ordered the mango coconut matcha with half sweetness. At almost $9 for a tiny drink with tax, this was not worth it. The matcha was extremely milky and very pale green. The mango coconut combo itself was great, but really wish the matcha flavor was more apparent since it didn't taste like much at all. Definitely don't recommend coming here for matcha. Seating is also limited to two bar tables and staff were friendly. All in all, would not recommend this spot for matcha. read more

Had to find this shop inside the hotel, just walk into the lobby & the shop is to the right. It's a very cute, small shop. The workers were very kind and helpful with us. Stopped by this spot for a morning matcha since it was located near our hotel. It's inside the Renew Hotel, and the space itself is really cute. There was only one person working, so the drinks took a little longer, but we got to meet the owner while we were waiting. He was super friendly, chatted with us for a bit, and even gave us some free stickers. For drinks we got the banana matcha and banana chocolate cold brew, both of which were great! read more

What's not to like... My Matchadar (matcha radar) found this place in Waikiki at the Hotel Renew to be exact I already knew the challenges of parking but with a bit of luck here I am! With menu choices of Matcha and Hojicha to choose from let me tell you it was worth the visit. Located just to the right of the front desk area is this cute little nook as their menu is nice and simple yet offers many fun and yummy drink options four types of matcha (original, strawberry, banana cream and mango coconut) three hojicha (original, kuromitsu, banana cream), four coffee (drip, cold brew, maple oat brew, banana chocolate cold brew) along with sencha, hibiscus tea and their specialty Kona cola. I decided on the Banana Cream Matcha along with a bacon and egg musubi which they usually have a wide fariety but I guess it was too early so there really was just a few available but as they were finishing up their bacon and egg that sounded like the perfect breakfast pair. Matcha was nice not very much banana flavor which was disappointing but did have a nice smooth and delicate sip but the musubi didn't work for me the egg was the same sweet egg used for sushi the bacon was chewy and the greens in there just was yuck but using the rice factory rice is nice but just didn't do it for me. The staff is nice and friendly just a single table with very little lounge area is the downside but is a nice refreshing spot to find something not usually available in this area. This place is a little hidden gem in Waikiki! The banana matcha was delicious, smooth and flavorful, with just the right balance of banana and matcha. I was lucky there was no line when I went, so I got helped right away. The cashiers were really friendly. The only downside is that the prices are a bit on the higher side, but that's to be expected since it's in Waikiki. Still, totally worth a visit for a yummy treat! read more

I had never tried a strawberry matcha before, so I decided to try one at this cute little Matcha & Musubi shop inside Hotel Renew. The strawberry matcha was decent. However, the matcha wasn't very strong though--my only complaint. I'm glad I omitted the honey that came with the Strawberry Matcha--I asked the cashier and she said they put honey in all their Matchas. If you don't like a sweet Matcha, just ask for no honey. The drink did have a really good taste though. I would like to add that if you want a specific Musubi, get there early because their Musubi options seem to be popular. The Musubis looked delicious and gourmet. Matcha and musubi? Yes - and even better, hojicha and musubi! If you're looking for unique, quality drinks and musubis, try As You Like Waikiki. They're in Hotel Renew's lobby, just mauka of Tikis Grill. My favorite was the Hojicha Kuromitsu drink with the tsukune musubi. My 10-year-old loved the matcha, my 6-year-old enjoyed the hojicha banana, and both liked (of course) the spam musubi. Musubis were fresh, made with japanese rice from Honolulu Rice Factory, and the customer service was great. Will be back. read more

Staff was very friendly and gave helpful descriptions when i asked for recommendations. They also speak japanese! Though it it pricey, i will say the food and drinks are quality. Maybe not THE BEST spam musubis in hawaii but DEFINITELY better than those at the ABC store. The nori fully wraps the musubi, does not slide off/fall off after one bite, and the rice ratio is perfect. As a local girl, ik my musubis ok. I am trying to eat healthier and i enjoyed the vegetables in the musubi too. The flavors were present without being overpowering. The banana matcha was slightly creamy and slightly sweet. Very cute. I parked at the zoo and walked about a block. I dont frequent waikiki, in fact, i avoid waikiki... but If i had a family, and wanted a little snack after the zoo, id stop here and grab a little something! Located INSIDE of hotel renew. Friendly folks and convenient in the area with early hours but the musubi is overpriced ($6-8) + not very good. It was loosely wrapped and their teriyaki spam oddly includes hard chewy kale. The tamago was also overcooked. I did appreciate that the hojicha was hand whisked to order. read more

Overall a little pricey but it is in Waikiki. This place is located right inside of hotel renew. I got the matcha banana cream, as well as spicy tuna, and tamago musubis and it came out to $23.04. Overall service was quick and this is a great place to grab and go. There is some seating available. The matcha was really good! I had the Matcha Banana and it was to die for. I mean hands down the best matcha latte I have ever had. It was the perfect amount of sweetness to matcha ratio. I mixed the banana into the matcha and it gave the whole drink a creamy banana flavor. My only complaint would be the prices are high, but then again you are in Waikiki so the lease must be high. read more

I do know that one of the bites included firefly squid, those cute, small, bioluminescent cephalopods famous for their brilliant blue light. Regardless, it was a fun way to cap off the trip. My favorite was the spicy dynamite cake, it was light and delightful and it came with seaweed papers so you could make your own wraps. I've never seen anything like this before. It was so cool and so yummy. The sauce wasn't too overbearing too which was really nice.

Lastly, I understand that the tempura brownie is popular but after tasting the "tempura" on the tofu I'm sure the brownie is just the star that shines through. The "tempura" on the tofu was gummy and not the authentic Japanese tempura we are used to (my husband, who is part Japanese, said to me "What is this?! Cornstarch?"). This is probably a great restaurant for drinks and hanging out with some adult friends but the rolls and appetizers were just not to our tastes. We were also sat outside when the restaurant was near empty inside and out (we went around 4PM) and it was a hot day (though the AC wasn't particularly cool enough for my preference inside either).

At one point they served kinki fish and jokingly explained that the English translation sometimes gets called "idiot fish," which got everyone laughing at the counter. The omakase is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, presentation, and overall experience made it very satisfying. If you're looking for a refined sushi experience with great service and beautifully crafted bites, this place is worth the splurge.

Here's how this love affair started...I discovered Domo when a friend invited me for some sushi and sips at her place. I was amazed at the beautiful platter of sushi that accompanied our sake and wine. My friends are the best hosts! I devoured the bombs, nigiris and rolls (in between sips!). Everything was simply delicious! Fast forward a few months, I order a couple sushi sets to host a poolside, golden-hour birthday get together at my other friend's home. (I know, you want to be part of this squad, right?!). Anyway, using the online order system is a snap! My hubby went in to pick up the sushi and said they were slammed but our sushi sets were ready to go. This time we ordered some ikura because the hubby and my bestie are big fans. I add the fried onions for some texture. You know a place is top-notch when you can feel confident that anything off their menu will satisfy your cravings. Because this is a Yelp review, here are some helpful tips. For sushi platters, pre-order. The online system is simple to use. Service is fast and efficient if you're just walking in for a quick bite or to grab something to go. Parking has always been easy for us to find in the small lot in the complex where Domo is located. It's right next to Assagio's Kahala. But if you're worried about parking, I suggest ordering in advance and then just picking up. This works great during peak dining hours. If you want fresh, delicious sushi that is reasonably priced be like us and visit Domo Café. You will probably also be like us and want to go back to try more.
