Maybe not THE BEST spam musubis in hawaii but DEFINITELY better than those at the ABC store. The nori fully wraps the musubi, does not slide off/fall off after one bite, and the rice ratio is perfect. As a local girl, ik my musubis ok. I am trying to eat healthier and i enjoyed the vegetables in the musubi too. The flavors were present without being overpowering. The banana matcha was slightly creamy and slightly sweet. Very cute. I parked at the zoo and walked about a block. Fantastic little giving gem inside a hotel in Waikiki. Not far from the Honolulu Zoo! Fabulous fresh musubi in so many different flavors. I stopped by here while on a walk and had to pop in. Located inside Hotel Renew (which is also such a cute boutique hotel), the line was already long, which I took as a good sign. The menu is limited, but I ended up with a hojicha. There is limited seating, but people that sit, don't really stay for the long because the drinks come in an 8oz cup. There are a few musubis you can order from, and I ended up ordering the egg and bacon, which was delicious! The service was fine--everyone was kind but not overly nice. It was great as usual! I took my friends from LA here since it was just a short walk from their hotel and they were extremely impressed with the Coconut Mango Matcha and Banana Cream Matcha. The musubis they agreed with me were contemporary and not the usual Musubi they were expecting but still enjoyed it nonetheless. Had so much fun and it wasn't a rush hour time so we stayed indoors with the small seating area and was able to chat and enjoy our drinks together. Super chill place to wind down and relax located in Hotel Renew. I can imagine when more visitors arrive at the hotel that this place can get noisy - in that case I'd recommend walking with your Musubi and matcha to the beach! My friends liked it so much that they actually returned a second time to order their strawberry matcha which they also enjoyed as well. read more

Came to try the matcha lattes here as it's been trending on social media. Very easy to park at the zoo or shell and walk over a block away. I definitely think the space is small but quiet. I tried the seasonal flavor (pumpkin spiced) matcha with oat and my gf had the banana matcha latte. It was alright but not the best matcha - a little too milky for my liking. This cute cafe is in Waikiki, located along Paoakalani Ave inside Hotel Renew. There's usually a sign for the cafe outside on the street that guides you to the entrance. Unfortunately there isn't much seating available, just one or two tables inside the cafe with some stray chairs located in the lobby of the hotel. I found that service was generally quick and helpful. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte and a spicy tuna musubi. Both came out relatively quickly, within 5-10 minutes of waiting. To be honest, I found the matcha to be really disappointing. At the price of around $9, the drink itself was rather small, and it tasted mostly milky. I couldn't really detect the taste of matcha or strawberry. I quite liked the musubi; even though it was pretty expensive for being rather small, it was quite tasty. Given the quality of the matcha, I don't think I would come back here to try their drinks. If you're looking for musubi, however, you can definitely give one of their flavors a shot. read more

Theyre a very small hotel so its easy to miss, but there is a sign out front that there is a cafe inside for easy navigation. The hotel itself is cute - boutiquey like. The valet staff was really friendly and opened the door for us. The cafe itself is located on the right hand side once you enter in. It's a small space but perfect for where it is and the size of the building. They have some merch, drinks, and musubis for sale too. I'd say 7.5/10 Hojicha Kuromitsu with Oat Milk totally surprised me! It gave boba milk tea vibes and I actually really liked it 8/10 Tried their Bacon/Egg/Spam wrap ($8 each) it's not your usual spam musubi but more like a Japanese-style wrap with sweet egg, bacon, purple cabbage, kale, rice, and seaweed. I ordered the mango coconut matcha with half sweetness. At almost $9 for a tiny drink with tax, this was not worth it. The matcha was extremely milky and very pale green. I had never tried a strawberry matcha before, so I decided to try one at this cute little Matcha & Musubi shop inside Hotel Renew. The strawberry matcha was decent. However, the matcha wasn't very strong though--my only complaint. I'm glad I omitted the honey that came with the Strawberry Matcha--I asked the cashier and she said they put honey in all their Matchas. If you don't like a sweet Matcha, just ask for no honey. The drink did have a really good taste though. I would like to add that if you want a specific Musubi, get there early because their Musubi options seem to be popular. With menu choices of Matcha and Hojicha to choose from let me tell you it was worth the visit. Located just to the right of the front desk area is this cute little nook as their menu is nice and simple yet offers many fun and yummy drink options four types of matcha (original, strawberry, banana cream and mango coconut) three hojicha (original, kuromitsu, banana cream), four coffee (drip, cold brew, maple oat brew, banana chocolate cold brew) along with sencha, hibiscus tea and their specialty Kona cola. I decided on the Banana Cream Matcha along with a bacon and egg musubi which they usually have a wide fariety but I guess it was too early so there really was just a few available but as they were finishing up their bacon and egg that sounded like the perfect breakfast pair. Matcha was nice not very much banana flavor which was disappointing but did have a nice smooth and delicate sip but the musubi didn't work for me the egg was the same sweet egg used for sushi the bacon was chewy and the greens in there just was yuck but using the rice factory rice is nice but just didn't do it for me. The staff is nice and friendly just a single table with very little lounge area is the downside but is a nice refreshing spot to find something not usually available in this area.
