    Salmon ikura and salmon

The BEST and FRESH Musubis in town! What a hidden gem!!! Support these locals!! Why are people not lining up for this?! This is a mom and pop shop downstairs the Waikiki shopping plaza. I had low expectations but wow it blow me out of the water. First of all, they source all their ingredients organically which really makes a difference. They served their rice freshly cooked which made it even more delicious. We got the salmon and salmon ikura. Oh my! It was so good with the seasoning and how fresh everything was. I don't know what was in the rice but the rice was perfectly cooked! I've eaten rice everywhere including other countries like Japan and this rice has to be the BEST I've ever tasted! They like perfected the rice. This has to be the best musubi compared to the popular ones in Waikiki. We loved it so much, we bought more!!! They have so much selections and even ancient black rice which has so many health benefits! We got this and it was as delicious! Service was great! The owner and his wife put a lot of hard work into making these masubi. That's why it's soooooo good! The only thing is you pay extra for nori. But it doesn't need it, to be honest! The rice is the star of the show. Ambiance- NO LINES! You don't need to wait in line for fresh musubis.

Located in THE STIX ASIA food court at Waikiki Shopping Plaza, Nana Musubi provides a tasty option to get your omusubi fix. They combine quality, organic rice (black, brown, or white) with flavorful ingredients, including spam, spicy tuna mayo and a standout pickled leaf. Definitely go earlier in the day, as popular items may start to sell out in the late afternoon and early evening. The next time I'm in the area, I will definitely head back here!

Nana is seven... Though I know that I had the one and it was delicious! You can find Nana Musubi at Stix Waikiki which is in the basement of Waikiki Shopping Plaza in the heart of Waikiki right on Kalakaua Ave across from the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center and if you're strolling around Waikiki it's the perfect pick me up snack that doesn't have to cost you a fortune to enjoy as well. With rice base choices of white, brown and Organic Ancient Black Rice that's the one that I really wanted to try as I'm usually a brown rice lover why not be adventurous since they do take pride in it all and is where the name seven comes if with the seven powers of nature the type of organic rice they use to create their omusubi. It was the "Seasoned Kelp" for me as I so love konbu which is what it's called in Japanese and is a vegetarian option with the organic ancient black rice knew that it would be the perfect snack for later and picked one up since I was in the area. The onigiri is naked (without nori) and is an additional $0.30 and though I do love and enjoy the combination of it decided that it wasn't necessary since I wasn't eating it now and didn't want it to get crushed during transit as I was walking. Since they're a part of Stix Asia there are a few seats available as well and is a nice cozy rest spot as it does seem that these cuties are a bit pricey though being in the convenience spot in Waikiki at that these are made with a specific type of rice I'd say it's fair and I did enjoy them hours later...when I really needed it. Thank you!

Now this is quality onigiri I was looking for! Got the unagi and seasoned kelp and both were equally delicious! The rice were both fresh and most importantly not dry. The seasoned kelp was especially flavorful as they used purple rice. The worker was so nice to make that one fresh for me. I highly recommemd this place for onigiri!!!

I understand from local friends that this place has really become popular since it opened last year. The popularity is deserved. Ingredients, including the all important rice, remain of exceptional quality. (This is a detail that I think many non-Japanese / many folks not familiar with Japanese cuisine miss, sadly, which sometimes results in a precipitous decline in quality at many a restaurant... because why bother with the much higher expense when most of your customers don't even notice?) I no longer saw purple rice or black rice as options on a recent visit -- perhaps something particular to my time of day / day of the week. The green tea is slightly more dilute that I remember it being last year, but remains otherwise excellent. I remember that it was an option to choose hot or cold last year; now it seems that only iced green tea is on offer. Not an issue for us, but just a note to future self. This stand would not be out of place in Tokyo.

Im so happy this place finally opened up as it wasn't yet the last time I visited Waikiki. Every single onigiri looks so yummy in the window! All of them made to perfection and are super fresh too! I kept coming back for the salmon and ikura. Though they are a bit pricey, I thought it was worth it. Quick and fast service, and located in the busy stix food hall end. Definitely a good place to grab on the go! Downside, it was an additional charge for a seaweed wrapper. However I Would definitely recommend.

Across the street from the Royal Hawaiian Center, and tucked away towards the back of the food court. Takes a bit of effort to find but worth it. They use organic rice for their onigiri and musubi. I loved that they had toppings on both sides of their musubi. The only thing is that they don't come wrapped with seaweed - the nori is sold separately.

Sometimes you just need a musubi. So easy to find here from Foodland, 7-11...anywhere. But for a fancier musubi go to a musubi shop like Nana. Different types of high quality rice and fillings make a good riceball. Kelp and hijiki are my favorites. Nori wrap is sold separately, but these musubi are good without it.

    Nicole C.

Super yummy musubi! One complaint I have is I wish there was seaweed included. 30 cents extra is not too much but I just don't like that it's an extra charge. Prices range from 3-5$

Hi, I have egg and dairy allergies. Does your salmon onigiri have any egg/dairy and/or cross contaminant with those ingredients? Thanks!

They don't use any dairy or egg for their salmon onigiri, just salt. As far as cross contamination, I recommend you ask them directly as you don't want to take a chance, especially if you're allergic. Better to be safe.

Do you use Ajinomoto in musubi?

No, we do not use Ajinomoto.

It was juicy, super moist, and very flavorful. I'm usually not a fan of this dish, but it was delicious here! The servers are efficient and quick to offer refills of the sides and water. The space isn't very big, some tables and some counter seating, so if you're going with more than 2 people, a reservation is highly recommended. Whenever we're in Hawaii, we'll be back.
