One of our few ventures out in Philly was to the spring event known as the Punk Rock Flea Market. While it was a cacophony of visual sights and sounds, I craved a quiet corner of a bar. We walked uphill to Mix. 1. After ordering 2 Bloody Mary's, 20 minutes later, we were told they "don't do" them. Only the 2nd time in my 68 years of hearing this. Bah. But they had hand mixed Sangria. Not bad. 2. We ordered 2 sandwiches, a BLT & and chicken Parm. The BLT was good. But instead of bringing the sandwich, we got the platter. Oops. Time for a 2nd Sangria. Waited.. Waited.. Waited.. Finally, it came. With good fries. Not bad, but ended up taking 1/2 home because, well ..waited.. Our server was new, so we tipped extra so as not to discourage her. It was mediocre at best. Decent seating for Fat folks. And a 1st floor bathroom, so no schlepping down a flight of stairs. Possibly would not return. But at least they had regular sandwiches. Not everything, everywhere all at once, has to be a hoagie.

Different cheesesteak #1056 in the last five years. This was a Christmas miracle!! AND the best cheesesteak your dad would never eat!! I saw an instagram post that they were open Christmas eve and that I should come watch the Eagles game with them. I went. I am glad I did. I got the Ultimate Mix Cheesesteak. Awesomeness on a roll. Red onions, cherry peppers, mushrooms, steak sauce, spinach, cheddar (very good change of pace cheese), balsamic vinaigrette, house garlic sauce. Soft hoagie roll, I would have liked a sturdier roll. $12 and comes with fries. If Mix had parking they would see me a lot more.

Ehhhhhhh my review is a bit "Mixed" here *joke drum roll* Food: me and my friends shared food (nachos, pizza, salad, etc.) The bar food was good. Not spectacular but worth the money Drinks: NOT IT. Lacked taste, and spirits for the price. Location: right off of chestnut so downtown parking is always hit or miss. But the spot itself is a good spot to watch a game with a beer and a slice of pizza so I wont go too hard on them

They need to fix their a.c.. It was unacceptably hot! The big fans blowing hot air at you are gross. Very sweet overly parsley garlic parm wings were a 2 star. Almost completely empty flavorless Philly cheese steaks were a 1 star. Sweet limp fries that needed a lot of salt were a 1 star. We gave them to a homeless man. Chicken tenders were juicy and great. They were a 3 star.

Great pizza and food! Great happy hour! Great atmosphere! My favorite spot to sit outside, have a slice and relax :) Picture shows the outdoor seating and the beautiful falafel hummus platter!

5 Stars for the staff and food. They were amazing. The management needs to get AC fixed tho, it's hard to really enjoy eating in there in 90 degree weather -3 stars just for that... get it fixed please

Haven't been here in a few years but the pizza is still good. I had takeout but there is plenty of indoor seating. The cashier was cool and I received the pizza quickly. I bought 2 slices and it came to $6.50, Apple Pay is not accepted ( cash or card)

After walking around all day I just wanted somewhere to sit and something healthy to eat. I had been craving a Greek salad and stumbled upon this spot. Luckily we arrive prior to the dinner crowds and were able to veg a cute spot in one of the Covid cubes (not sure exactly what they are called). It was nice to be out of the chilly air and even better that each little cube was separated by a barrier from tables next to it, as well as each had their own heat lamp! The salad was great, exactly what I was looking for. Very generous on the feta. Also ordered the garlic knots, which complimented the salad nicely. Because we didn't go into the restaurant we didn't realize that we could have ordered pizza by the slice. I kept smelling the Buffalo chicken pizza from the table next door and couldn't commit to a full pie. A slice would have been perfect! Great neighborhood spot, excellent service, and good food!

We each opted to get one drink and no food. If you want to get the wind knocked out of you after one drink, this is your spot. The drinks were STRONG. I ordered the Market Street Muse and I could barely taste the limoncello. The vodka and basil were the most prominent flavors. I was feeling good. I'm rating this establishment four stars because the drinks on The Philadelphia Cocktail Trail were essentially existing drinks they had on their current menu but with different names. Same ingredients. I was hoping to see something new or related to America's 250th. Overall, though, the space was very calm and clean and I enjoyed being there. All the menu items sounded great, too. I'll have to pop in here for a bite to eat next time.

We asked for the toppings on the side because, you know, kids, but WOW. The vodka sauce was delicious, and the pickled tomato concoction that came with them? I could've bathed in it. The calamari was perfectly crisp and came with the unexpected bonus of onion rings, which were ever-so-lightly battered and perfectly crunchy. And once again, the sauces were superb. The boys shared a cheese pizza, half pepperoni, and really enjoyed it. My husband ordered the burger, and yes, I stole a bite--and yes, to no one's surprise, it was amazing. We also ordered the charred broccoli after seeing everyone rave about it online. They were NOT wrong. Creamy, smoky, charred perfection. And finally... drumroll please... the 10 oz. smoked Duroc pork chop! OH. EM. GEEE. Perfectly charred on the outside and incredibly juicy inside, sitting in the most delicious smoky morita-apricot glaze and topped with a bright cucumber-melon salad with mint and blue basil. The contrast was perfection! The rich, smoky pork, the sweet and slightly spicy glaze, and that cool, fresh salad on top. Every bite had the perfect combination of flavors and textures. Easily one of the best pork chops I've ever had. As wonderful as the food was, the service somehow made the experience even better. From the minute we arrived, we were treated like family coming home for the holidays. Warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. What an absolute joy of a restaurant. I'm not sure why I waited so long to try the chicken at Bud and Marilyn's, but better late than never! They serve a LARGE 1/2 chicken. I started with the thigh. I was smitten by the first bite. I was told the chicken is soaked in a buttermilk brine for 24-48 hours - dipped in a buttermilk dredge - covered with their 'secret recipe' seasoned flour - and fried in a 'pressure fryer' that cooks the chicken in 12 minutes. It was perfectly fried - so crispy - the texture and seasoning of the exterior coating was incredible. The chicken was tender and juicy - the thigh was the juiciest - I didn't get to try the drumstick as I was too full! I had the thigh and 1/2 the breast. The breast is my favorite and I savored each large delicious piece I broke apart. It's important to pick up the chicken and eat it by hand - I did cut mine in half for a picture - but didn't use a fork to eat it - you lose the 'panache'of the meal. I didn't use the hot sauce served with the chicken - I brought my own bottle of honey and poured it over the chicken and biscuits. It was heavenly! Which brings me to the Biscuits! The dish comes with 2 large fluffy buttermilk biscuits - they were golden brown on the outside and tender and fluffy on the inside! They had such a rich, buttery flavor. I took several pieces of chicken and layered them on pieces of biscuit, drizzled with honey! It was truly a 5 star fried chicken and biscuit dinner!

We chose this because the menu had a nice mix of southern and American favorites that they weren't accustomed to. You should've seen two northern boys trying to describe grits to a Swede. Our waitress was awesome. She was great at explaining things and talking about each dish. Of course there were questions. Some things probably got lost in translation but everyone was happy with their choices. I also feel like servers are always put in an awkward position when you ask them to help you choose. Food is like art. It's so subjective. So for starters we got the fried greet tomatoes and the Burrata. Burrata was not ideal for sharing with people you do not know. It was one large piece of toast. So she actually took it back and someone cut it into 4 sections for us. The fried green tomatoes were awesome. It had a nice tangy sauce with sweeter pickles that came along side. My colleague got the open faced chicken sandwich which was an enormous amount of food. It was two fat chicken pieces on two thick slices of toast. I got the salmon sticky rice bowl with a side of the charred broccoli. Both were so delicious. The salmon had some broccoli in it too. So I really over did it. The charred broccoli side had crusted Parmesan in it and a creamy sauce. Both dishes were just knock outs. Almost forgot I got the love latte too. That was really good. I got it with oat milk. So I highly recommend this place. Great for a business lunch too. Easy to hear one another. Music wasn't too loud. Oh they were very gracious with us. We were 15 minutes late because I wouldn't stop talking in the pre lunch meeting. Yeah I'm that guy. Figures I'd be on Yelp.

The food that I had at this restaurant and the entire dining experience has got to be the best I've ever had in Philly. It's funny how many times I passed this place and never even noticed. It's semi in the cut, especially if you're only ever driving past, like I usually am. This restaurant is farm to table dining, which I absolutely love. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I prefer & appreciate fresh food. The menu runs on seasonal basis (which is the best way to eat) and they source from local farms both in the Philadelphia and New Jersey area! I simply could not decide what I wanted to eat since the appetizers, entrees and sides all looked so yummy. During this dine in I didn't get any appetizers (which is ironic actually) but I ordered the branzino that came with fried cauliflower and white bean purée, the slow braised spiced lamb bolognese, and the cornbread. The lamb bolognese was absolutely delicious. This was one of the things where the photo of the food matches EXACTLY how delicious you think it would be. I am not someone who generally opts for pasta at a restaurant (cuz ehhh boring) but it was delicious and the pasta is made fresh daily (my partner ordered this dish) and I will need to make my way to have it all for myself (soon)! The branzino. Fish is a scary one for me to order because I have been let down to many times. I make a post semi recently about the awful branzino I had at "Cry baby pasta" so I was nervous to see how well this played out (if at all). The dish was great! There's this caper salad that tasted just like chimichurri that paired amazingly well with the fish, there were slices of both orange and grapefruit on the dish, and the white beans and cauliflower together were great! Everything on the dish was extremely flavorful, fresh and paired well together. I ordered a gimlet or as it's called on the menu "Sicilian" which is a gin based drink that I had just heard of for the first time a few days prior and I was doing some research and saw that the drink should pair well with the dish. I was doing my own food and drink pairing if you will! When I went to order the server even said it would pair well together, she really knew her stuff! The cornbread was okay- I am a huge fan of cornbread and this one just wasn't my fav. It also was semi rough around the edges. It wasn't bad at all, I've just had much much better tender & softer cornbreads which are my preference. In terms of costing, which I generally don't speak much about in my reviews- for a farm to table dining experience I thought the cost was good! Usually, farm to table prices are quite expensive and experiences you wanna put aside for a "special occasion". I'm really glad I stumbled upon a farm to table restaurant, with a seasonal menu that was affordable- making me feel that I can indulge more frequently than compared to others. I really look forward to trying other items on the menu as everything really was up to my speed. The dessert menu also featured seasonal items but, I decided to close my eyes and be a good girl when it came to desert this day and didn't really pay attention, but I would love to indulge my next time around. Our server was also great! It's a bummer that I didn't catch her name. The hospitality was amazing! From both our server, the manager and all others we spoke to during our visit. My partner recently read "Unreasonable Hospitality" and now every dining experience is met with our internal agenda and standards now due to this book of how things should be and the way we wanna "feel" while dining. I mean, cmon, how many times have you been out to eat, paid your hard earned money and felt awful afterwards due to how you've been treated? (Or ignored). Solid spot! I would recommend~

Unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience I've had. We had a 7 PM reservation and arrived at 7:15 PM. I acknowledge that we were late and apologized to the host. However, we arrived within the stated grace period. When we checked in, the hostess explained that because we arrived later within the grace period, our 90-minute seating window would still end based on the original reservation time. We acknowledged that and had absolutely no issue with it. What made the experience uncomfortable was how aggressively we were reminded about the time throughout the entire meal. We were reminded at least 5-6 separate times how much time we had left. Comments like "just so you know you have 25 minutes left" and "our next party is coming in 5-10 minutes" made it feel like staff was actively trying to rush us out before our reservation time had even ended. Mind you, we already understood the policy. One reminder would have been enough. Instead, it completely changed the energy of the evening and made us feel unwelcome and pressured to leave. We had originally planned to stay through our reservation and then move to the bar for the live music afterward, but after being repeatedly rushed, we decided to leave entirely and spend the rest of the night elsewhere. The most disappointing part was the interaction with the manager, Eric. Rather than listening or showing any understanding, he immediately became defensive and aggressive. He repeatedly insisted we were "15-20 minutes late," which was simply not true -- we arrived during the stated grace period. The issue was never the policy itself. It was the way we were treated throughout the night. It's unfortunate because this has genuinely been one of my favorite spots in Philly, and I've recommended it to multiple people. But this experience left a really bad impression, especially when bringing guests from out of town.

They were crowded but quick! Hubby and enjoyed our food (pictured) and would certainly visit again. I highly recommend this spot for great late night eats.

There are many tables, making it good for groups, but the interior is pretty bare. The wall is adorned with whimsical fox and chicken imagery, referencing the Hatch and Coop name. As of 05/2025, they supposedly offer 10% off your order by showing your SEPTA card. But, I'd confirm this offer before ordering to ensure it's honored. When I was there in the early morning, the cook (who also takes orders) didn't recognize the deal and didn't know how to punch it in. So, it was a bit of a letdown we couldn't redeem the deal, but we still wanted to try the sandwiches after hearing great things about them. I ordered The Hatch and Coop Sandwich (egg, cheese, chicken) on a round roll at the kiosk. You can customize your bread, egg (fried or scrambled), and cheese (provolone, american, or cheddar). The sandwiches come without any sauce unless you order sauce (extra $$) on the side. I highly recommend the Hatch Sauce- a typical mayo sauce with a little spice. I found The Hatch and Coop Sandwich to be just pretty good but I wish it had more heft to it. The chicken was juicy and well cooked, but I wish there was more. The cheese did the cheesing and coated the chicken, but the sandwich had far too many onions for my liking. With the Hatch Sauce, I felt the sandwich was tied together but it was a little odd to me the sandwich doesn't have sauce on its own. I'm giving Hatch and Coop the benefit of the doubt since it was so early in the morning, but I found my sandwich to be just OK. However, I will be back to try the fried chicken sandwiches, which I've heard rave reviews for.
