Stopped in because of a recommendation. First parking was tight but I found one and parked a block away, not bad. I walked into a very warm and inviting dining area. There are two boards of daily special near the front door. After checking out the menu, I ordered a steak burrito dinner. The young lady that told my order was nice and answered my crazy question about grilled jalapeños. I received my food and left. I tasted some of the meat as it fell out of my burrito and it was seasoned well and tender with a slight char. The burrito comes with rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, cheese and guacamole. The first bite was delicious, no extra tortilla. The fillings were all fresh, but I couldn't taste the guacamole at all. The rice was flavorful and the beans were creamy and buttery. The red salsa has some kick which I really liked. I wish I had more. The green salsa was good as well. read more

One of my favorite local joints in the Lincoln square neighborhood. This is a great place to get a good freshly made meal when you're short on time! Friendly staff and quick service Everytime I've gone. They have a new daily special that is 3 chorizo or al pastor tacos plus a soda for $9.99 .plus chips and salsa if you dine in. Great deal! I got the burritos here and the food was honestly just fine. I would not come here again. The meat quality was average and the veggies didn't seem very fresh. I got food to go thankfully because the music for some reason was uncomfortably loud. Outside the music was blasting like it was lollapalooza so I checked out the patio and there was no one there. My friend and I came in around 5pm on taco Tuesday and this place was EMPTY. It made me nervous to get food but it was right across the street from where we were staying. This place is pretty cute. Mom and pop vibes but not necessarily a hole in the wall. A lot of vibrant colors and soft music playing in the background. If we had more time, we would've dined in. I had 2 asada tacos and 2 Al pastor tacos (Mexican style). My friend got some chicken tacos (American style). The tacos were AMAZING! Omgawddd. Mouth watering. Smelled good . Decent amount of meat! Presentation was on point. I would've come back if they were open late. I'm not sure why this place is slept on but it was absolutely delicious. I believe they opened yesterday, and they're already firing on all cylinders! I had Bierria tacos rice and beans, and as delicious as the tacos were, I can't get over how good the beans were! Makes me think of how many times I've had dried out disappointing flavorless beans. They had excellent chips and salsa, as well as to distinctively flavor for hot sauces available. The most recent visit was so delightful and delicious..me and my family of had the most amazing meal of turkey and dressing my favorite meal of the year is the chicken soup turkey with garlic green beans with avocado salad dressing and of course cranberry sauce... My favorite Mexican restaurant around the area. Portions are generous and prices are fair. My favs are the steak, pastor and birria tacos. The bbq ribs are suprisingly good too. Washroom is always clean and has paper towels. I'm a germaphobe and hate going to restaurants with hand dryers and unfortunately a lot of Mexican restaurants have them so this place is a winner for me. Honest review. Ordered 2 pastor tacos, 1 quesabirria taco, 1 horchata Cashier was attentive and friendly. Vibe was not all there. Place needs to be more vivid. With my order I got 1 lime per taco , 1 tiny green sauce, 1 tiny red sauce. Neither one had any spice to them, they both were on the sweet side; that's a no for me. Can't have pastor tacos with sweet sauce. The pastor tacos were ok. I like the fact they added the pineapple pieces to them , the meat could use a little more char to it. The quesabirria taco was good. The consome save it. It was a lot more flavorful than then taco itself. The horchata (to me) tasted more of a premixed syrup. It had flavor, but not what you get for a natural made one. Again, this is just my pallet and my honest opinion. read more

OMG why is no one eating here? Decided to try for lunch at 1:00 on a Saturday and there is one table of people eating inside and no one on the patio on a beautiful 80 degree day. Carnitas tacos dinner is the daily special, 3 good size tacos with rice and beans and basket of chips for 15.99 so we got that and a pastor torta which comes with a can of soda. The carnitas was absolutely the best we've had in years, can't say enough about it. We ate up the taco dinner and only about a quarter of the very large torta because we were full. Looking forward to eating it up as leftovers. It was also very good but the carnitas was just so amazing . Counter service but attentive checking on us out on the patio with our dog. Great food and great people! Highest recommendation, seek this spot out. Quesabirria is must here. Full of flavor and the beef melts in your mouth. Chicken tacos are charcoal grilled so have that little extra touch of deliciousness. This will be our weekly spot and plan to work our way through the entire menu. Even better are the people. Salvador the owner came out to check on us and spent a good 15 minutes telling us all about the dishes and had us sample quite a bit. Made our 2 yr old daughter feel extra special too.
