This review is for a take-out order. Let me start off by saying this was not a business I would have thought of going to because I don't just do salads as a meal unless it is a big giant taco salad, but for a work meeting, this was the place that lunch was ordered from. I got the Chicken Avocado Ranch for my selection (Antibiotic-free blackened chicken, avocado, pickled onions, apples, tortilla chips, white rice, chopped romaine, seed oil-free green goddess ranch) and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. As I was home on the Friday after the Xmas Day celebration, hungry, didn't want to cook/heat anything up, I decided to order this salad for dinner through Grubhub. While I was placing the order, I decided to try the Fish Taco for the next day's lunch (Antibiotic-free miso glazed salmon, avocado, shredded cabbage, cilantro, tortilla chips, herbed quinoa, spring mix). This bowl comes with a sweetgreen hot sauce & lime cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette, but I opted to switch that out for the Green Goddess Ranch and the Miso Sesame Ginger. I loved the fact that I would add or not include certain items. For example, I love goat cheese, so I add that to both bowls and it was delish. Delivery was pretty smooth, with the driver coming up to our floor to drop everything off. Both bowls looked visually pleasing and the overall taste was pretty good. The flavors were nice and there was a freshness to both bowls, even the Fish Taco one on the next day. FYI the Fish Taco bowl can only be ordered online, not ordered in the store...not sure why, but since I will not be going to the store, I am good with that. You also have the option to order a slice of bread with each bowl and that was nice. Next time I will see if I can get a second slice. Total cost for the two bowls, with some add-ons and service fee and tip was about $58. I will say it will be cheaper to go to the store and pick it up yourself, but I will pay to have stuff delivered to me for peace of mind. They do have an app for placing orders, but I will stick with Grubhub because that is free for me through Amazon. I realize sweetgreen has a mission statement about eating healthy, lowering their carbon footprint, a commitment to animal welfare, but before I knew any of that, I still would say the bowls were pretty good. Not that I crave salads or bowls that often, but if I do, this will be the first place I order from. read more

I actually have never been to a Sweetgreen and happy to report I've been missing out and have to go again. My bowl was really good I got the garlic parm cauliflower and chicken bowl. I reallyyy enjoyed it. Only thing was I expected the roasted broccoli to be warm not cold so that threw me off but now I know. The romesco sauce and basil sauce were really good too. My wife kept telling me about the garlic steak plate with a side of wild rice, roasted sweet potatoes, spicy broccoli & tomato with pesto dressing. So I ordered that and the hummus cruch salad with romaine, kale, bread crumbs, cabbage, tomato and cucumber, and chickpeas with hummus, basil and pesto dressing. Chains are expanding their presence in Andersonville and Sweet Green is a solid addition. Overall, it is a quick grab and go spot with extremely easy online ordering. Staff works quickly and there is convenient shelving for to-go orders. There is some seating available for customers who would like to dine-in. In general, my grievances with Sweet Green are in the lack of blue cheese dressing and minimal salad dressing provided with online ordering. This is not necessarily the franchise's fault. To be clear, one side of dressing is never enough for a whole salad. You need at least 2, and 3 would be generous. Overall, I will still order from Sweet Green when I have a craving for a salad because it's the most affordable option in the neighborhood. I enjoy the Caesar and Cobb salads. read more

There was a bit of a wait, but it was not that bad. There was only one girl making salads, and she was outstanding. She was so friendly and warm and seemed to really enjoy her job, which is rare. I got the green goddess salad and added a few items like avocado and egg. The whole thing was less than $13, and it was HUGE. Some of the reviews made it seem like I'd be getting a side salad, but that was certainly not the case. Super friendly and warm smiles. I customized the harvest bowl on the app and opted for the following: arugula, shaved parmesan, parmesan crisps, warm quinoa, roasted chicken, sweet potatoes, apples, almonds and two servings of their spicy cashew dressing; This is such a healthy and delicious bowl. Sweet Green needs to expand their locations because this is the type of spot we all need to live a healthy lifestyle, instead of being stuck on greasy fast food. I love this location! I often place orders here and it's always so pleasant experience. There is parking on the residential street but you have to pay to park. So I placed an pick up order and my food was prepared and ready for pickup in about 15 minutes. I'm walking in the store was very clean and fully stocked with napkins and fork etc. I was greeted as soon as I walked in by multiple employees. It's very organized so I was able to find my salad. Upon leaving they always tell me to have a good day. Customer service is always on point!! read more

My usual order is the Shroomami Bowl, and it has been extra delicious being able to enjoy it in the dining room when it was freshly mixed with just the right amount of light dressing. All of the employee who've helped us were amazing! One had really thoughtful recommendations and an infectious enthusiasm for the Elote Bowl. I'll definitely try it with his suggested vegan modifications. More recently, I was worried it was too late to closing but the employee could not have been nicer. There was something so positive about my interaction with a petite female associate. I could tell she was smiling through her mask as she made my harvest salad. My mistake was to not note her name but only thank her directly for her wonderful positive energy. I wish I lived closer to this business, but sadly there isn't one near where I actually live, in Edison Park. I ordered Sweetgreen for lunch today in attempt to make a healthier food choice. I did a build your own bowl with mixed greens, quinoa, roasted chicken and various toppings. My bowl just arrived and for a second I thought I was given croutons instead of roasted chicken. That is how dry and overdone this chicken is. I have no idea if this afternoon was busy, but anyone could look at this chicken and see it's not suitable for bowls at this point. For the price of a salad bowl I'd expect better quality on one of the main items. I suppose this is what I get for ordering via delivery. Yay! We have a new lunch spot! We used to go to the one downtown when we lived in the Loop but since moving north, we hadn't been to Sweetgreen. So when they opened just a few blocks from our place, we definitely we're going to stop in. The place is very bright and clean and staff was super nice. I like that they've expanded their menu with more bowls and plates so it's not just a "make your own salad" place. I went with the Hot Honey Chicken plate. Loved it! The roasted almonds gave a good crunch and the hot honey sauce was a perfect balance of sweet & spicy. Husband had the Harvest bowl and loved it. He raved about how tender the chicken was. As an avid sweetgreen eater, I'm sad to say this is the worst sweetgreen I've ever been to. While customer service is great, They routinely mess up my order. Today I'm eating a salad with an incorrect ingredient and drowning in sauce, even though I only asked for medium dressing. I kid you not, I can literally spoon out the dressing, yuck. Sadly this is not the first time this has happened. The Anderson location screws up my order around 25% of the time. I have ordered twice from this location on Uber Eats and both times there were ingredients missing from my order. The first time they didn't add any protein and the second time there was no salad base, I mean no greens at all just a huge stalk of cilantro, and no dressing either.
