Avocado toast w/ side of potatoes
    Kel S.

Ambiance is beautiful. $65 price tag for brunch is steep. Was it worth it? The jury is still out. It includes a buffet of raw bar (oysters, shrimp and clams), a couple of side salads, cheeses, meats. The pastries and deserts that are included are underwhelming. Think smaller versions and less popular options from Sift bakery downstairs. Like, come on... you have beautiful baked goods for sale downstairs but you provide basic, small samples for the buffet? This was disappointing. We could order one a la carte entree for our main. I asked the server her recommendation between 2 dishes. I didn't end up eating my meal as it was not cooked as ordered and frankly, was not that good (avocado toast). If you are going to command a large price tag for brunch, it should feel special. This didn't quite. Finally the deserts were all just not that good. Each of the confections were pretty but sickeningly sweet. The other dessert options just didn't meet the mark. There are so many delicious offerings downstairs that are hard to choose from. I was blown away by how bad the desert choices we were given on our (5)? towers were. The service was ok. We were a party of 20. We had one server. I have worked in many restaurants. For a party of this size, 2 servers would have been more appropriate. I was bussing the table myself at one point. Of course the gratuity was guaranteed on a party this size, and the server knew this, but the service could have been better.

Overall an average experience. Waitstaff were kind and courteous but service was slower than we're used to in NJ. We got the strawberry salad as a starter. I ordered the zucchini pesto fusilli and my husband ordered the seared tuna. The salad had good flavor but they definitely skimped on the berries. The nuts were also so crushed up that there was no satisfying crunch as there normally would be (and frankly they skimped on the nuts too). Pasta was over cooked, but had delish zucchini chips on top. The tuna had good flavor but it wasn't fully seared. The restaurant has a wonderful ambience in the evening. They have fire pit seating and we were at a table near there so it was wonderful to have some heat from the pit on a cool fall evening.

We love to stop into Mix especially for their happy hour. We always get the amazing Crispy Pork Ribs and the Hazelnut Crusted Goat Cheese Fritters. The drinks are always made with fresh ingredients. Brittany, Rebecca, Isabell & Mark are all friendly and make a great drink! The atmosphere is open and airy, even in the winter where you can look over Mystic by the fire table and comfy chairs!

This visit has been a long time coming. I love Mystic and I love Sift, so hitting up Mix Rooftop was high on my list. We got there around 3:30, so all they offered was drinks and the small plate options. I would have loved to try one of the large plate offerings, but we shared a bunch of small plates and were super happy with what we had. We had three orders of the Crispy Pork Ribs, mostly because they were FANTASTIC! The Saki Soy Glaze was out of sight! These were both crispy and pull off the bone tender. The pickled ginger and candied chilis were a great compliment and the peanuts gave it a nice additional crunch. The Ousters were excellent. Good flavored Oysters with the lemon granita and champagne foam were and excellent accompaniment. The Beef Carpaccio was outstanding. Great flavorless on the beef, the mix on top was a good addition and the bread was insanely flavorful, not a surprise. I really liked the Seacoast Mushroom Tart as well. Great flavor on the mushrooms and the ricotta really added to the overall taste of the dish. The Pork Belly Jerky was probably my least favorite, only because something has to be at the back of the pack. It too was tasty and both sauces it came with were great. The drinks were a hit, but so outweighed by the excellent food! This is a must visit!

Once again Mix delivers. First REALLY nice day of the summer of 2025 and seemed like a great night to eat outside and enjoy downtown Mystic. Food was amazing, service was impeccable, and the vibe at Mix is always vibrant and fun.

Mix at sift is such a good experience. Vibes are high and food is fresh and delicious. Brittany is there and makes sure everything runs smooth and is a positive experience for everyone! The views are amazing. We had dinner there last night with no complaints. I'm a sucker for a short rib dish and it definitely delivers. I went back for brunch and omg so good. You can order a la carte or utilize the buffet. Both choices are a great one.

My absolute favorite every time we come! Fried goat cheese appetizer

This place is a favorite of ours and we travel from over an hour away a few times a year to enjoy dinner or their Sunday brunch so well worth the drive! The roof top is so comfortable no matter the weather, great views, clean and so inviting. My husband and I came for my birthday and a night with now kids so we really treated ourselves with offerings. I'm not always a fan of oysters but these were amazing with thru accomplishments. Had to get my beet and goat cheese appetizer which they had added back to the menu (thank goodness) and we shared eat entree and they were both amazing! Can't wait to return to try a new menu.

One of my all-time favorite spots in all of CT. First time attending for brunch and must admit it was one of the best brunch experiences I've ever had. Brunch with a spectacular view. Take in the panoramic views of the Mystic River while Enjoying decedent & eclectic cuisine crafted by the amazing team at Mix Rooftop. Their signature brunch series offer mimosas & speciality cocktails, locally sourced raw bar, and the most luscious pastries & breads provided by Sift. Enjoy a la carte options & a full brunch buffet with so many options that are bound to satisfy any/all pallets. Impeccable service, extremely attentive staff and overall a marvelous Sunday brunch experience. Mix Rooftop has certainly left us hungry for much more. Simply cannot wait to return.

Pork Chop as only the rooftop can imagine. The presentation is spectacular!

The food, service, ambiance continues to impress. Is there nothing that Adam does that doesn't do well? Unbelievable service, the food... just spectacular! I can't wait to return to this spot. I'm recommending it to everyone!

What a great spot! Both food and service were awesome! The manager was attentive and you can tell she enjoys what she does. We sat by the fire which kept us nice and warm for the evening. To drink I tried the mint to be, it was light and refreshing. Also had the espresso martini which was also pretty good. For an appetizer we ordered the crispy pork ribs. A little fatty for my liking but the flavor of the sauce was delicious. For my entree I had the half chicken. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken was tender. The plate set up and pairing was unique in a good way. Also liked the croquette. I got to try the short rib rigatoni which I could not stop eating. For dessert we got to try the sampler. Had a bit of everything although ice cream by the fire didn't go too well, a bit messy as you could imagine. I like the atmosphere and vibe of the place. Although it is called a rooftop there is a roof so you can still go rain or shine. I would definitely come back here!

Words cannot describe how delightful each dish was. Such well balanced and complex flavors, even with the items not being particularly lean each dish still felt light and kept us wanting more. Adam was in and chatting with some patrons, you can tell he's great to work with and cares deeply about customers' experiences just by the conversations he was having with his staff. He gifted a signed copy of the Sift cookbook to some others at the bar and gave us a box of his bonbons. Honestly, I wish we recorded our reactions because never before have I shared an entire box of chocolates in one sitting and still wanted more. I'm endlessly impressed with Adam Young's skill and the team he has curated in Mystic. Chef Olivia Morey is equally impressive and I can safely say I will follow her on her future ventures. We ended up using some drink coupons at their newest venture Bar & Bonbons across the way and I regret nothing. What a brilliant introduction to ATY hospitality.

Lavender Haze from Mix, the Macaroons from their bakery "Sift" downstairs
    Katie K.

This is a cool place to check out for a drink. I am not sure how the food is because we only came to grab a round of drinks after grabbing the famous macaroons from their bakery (Sift) downstairs. They recently renovated the entire rooftop and it's beautiful. It's definitely an elevated space, with an elevated menu for food, and a great drink menu. I personally like how they categorized their drinks by "sweet", "herbacious" and "savory". I decided on the drink "Lavender Haze" to go with my macaroons and it was tangy and delicious. We will certainly be back again to try more food and cocktail options in the future!

I don't usually like trendy looking restaurants, I've had many experiences where I have been underwhelmed. So when my wife wanted to stop in Mix I was skeptical. Honestly I was so pleasantly surprised. We were there for happy hour and the drinks and food were both great. Absolutely loved the ribs. Service was great too. We will definitely be back again.

Great place but way too expensive for brunch. Brunch was $65 a head without cocktails. So if you bring a family of 4 watch out.

We went for an early seating yesterday and bravely brought our 8 month old. This was already a bold ask because this restaurant doesn't scream children but port of call took it with stride. We were accommodated with a highchair and several staff stopped to say hi to our baby. (For his part, our baby was relatively chill although a loud babbler, and no tears which we would call a win). Now onto the product. Absolutely phenomenal. We were wowed from start to finish. Every single drink, dish, and dessert far exceeded our expectations. The happy hour menu is very generously priced and had several favorites off the actual menu, as well as some items which I believe are available all the time. Our server (I'm very sorry I can't think of his name) was fantastic and offered excellent recommendations to like drinks on the current menu based on drinks we said we usually steer towards. Every drink (we had 4 different ones) absolutely knocked it out of the park. This would be an awesome spot for cocktails and apps with friends but is also a superb full service date night spot. We can't (and won't) stop raving about port of call!!!

This restaurant provides a higher quality meal than 99% of restaurants in CT. To the detriment of an otherwise fantastic experience: The overall experience here lacks some of the polish you'd expect from a restaurant operating at such a high culinary level. There seem to be consistent breakdowns of the overall communication, planning and operations throughout the restaurant experience. While the service team is friendly, capable, and professional, there are recurring lapses in communication and organization that affect the overall flow of service. These hiccups express a system lacking in polish and organization, perhaps due to a breakdown of cohesion, a weak overall structure, or management issues...? The intimate dining room is a part of the restaurant's charm, but it also leaves little room for error. Seating logistics and pacing require careful management, and we've experienced a few situations where communication between the front and back of house appeared to break down. To the staff's credit, any issues we've encountered have always been handled directly, graciously, and professionally. Port of Call remains a top dining choice, but the operational inconsistencies keep it from feeling like an automatic recommendation every time. Food: 5/5 Servers: 5/5 Finesse/Operations: 2/5

S & P Oyster Restaurant and Bar is a very charming and picturesque restaurant sitting on the Mystic River with indoor and outdoor seating, and photographic views of the Mystic River. Each employee is very attentive to your needs, and everyone works together as a team to assure each patron is getting quality service and a great experience. We were greeted at the entrance by the Hostess and promptly shown to a table overlooking the Mystic River. Next we were greeted by Evelina our server. She handed us menus and the daily specials and took our drink order. Upon her return to our table she went over the daily specials asked if we had any questions and if we knew what we wanted or if we needed more time. We both ordered unsweetened ice teas as we had a 2 hour drive back home. My wife and I both enjoyed a delicious bowl of New England Clam Chowder. It was creamy, rich and chock full of clams and not that pasty style you get in so many places. I ordered 6 oysters on the half shell along with 6 littlenecks on the half shell. They were very fresh, plump, juicy and tasted like the sea. I can live off these 2 mollusks. My wife ordered a Harvest Grain Bowl. It was loaded with crispy Brussel sprouts, butternut squash, roasted chickpeas, red onions, heirloom carrots, arugula, dried cranberries, toasted almonds, farro, with an apple cider vinaigrette. She loved it!!! Me being a seafood nut ordered Seafood Ambrosia. YUM, YUM & YUM!!!. It was a combination of cod, shrimp, scallops, crab, and seafood stuffing baked it an individual cast iron frying pan. It was buttery, cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. It came with a side Mystic Salad that included artisan greens, radicchio, carrots, red onion, cucumbers, celery, and a honey balsamic vinaigrette. I recommend making a reservation for both lunch and dinner as they are one of the hottest restaurants in Mystic (especially during warmer months). If you have never been here I highly recommend giving it a try, I'm sure you will be as happy and as satisfied as I have always been with S & P.

Went here with my family this year on the Tuesday after Mother's Day and I had hyped the place up based on my wonderful experience last year. I was thoroughly disappointed with the menu selections and the food. The waiter told me they change out their menu from time to time. I sure wish they hadn't because the lump crab dip was delicious but the replacement was spinach and artichoke dip. The artichokes were not blended they were chunks and it was not in a creamy sauce but dry with shredded Parmesan cheese over the top. It was awful. I didn't even eat it. I also ordered the crab cake which wasn't good. Last time I had the crab cake, it was made with chuncks of crabmeat. This time it was shredded crabmeat and a lot of breadcrumbs. My son's girlfriend and my husband both ordered mussels and they each said they were okay. My husband also ordered what we call a crab imperial dish containing different kinds of shellfish, bread crumbs, cream sauce and cheese. Our son ordered a crispy fried chicken sandwich and he said it was delicious. I tried it and it was so good. The chicken was fried light and with tasty Chilean sauce on it.
