When I went back and told the girl who had taken my order that there were no beets in my Beet salad, she said "did you ask for beets?". I got there at 5:48pm. Ordered the #9 (lobster salad on a baguette/wedge) for $26 and a $14 Paloma. Plus tax AND TIP (regret). There were two orders in front of me. Some guy came in after the kitchen closed and they were nice enough to let him order. 6:30 comes around, no order. 6:40, almost an hour later, I get my sandwich... they bagged it, kind of rushed to hand it to me almost hiding something. I get to my place, it's a (wish I took a picture) fraction of a scoop of lobster salad, if that, on a half of a slice of regular white bread. Went back, got no apology and they said they ran out of the baguettes to make it. So I asked why they didn't tell me they ran out giving it to me or why it was on half of a slice of regular bread versus a full sandwich like it's supposed to be. They said they can make something else and I asked for a full refund. Keep in mind, it's been an hour since I ordered and only 2 people in front of me. They said they could give me a partial for just the sandwich. That's atrocious customer service. (You) took forever and screwed up, make it right. Not sure why they'd have me pay for that I had that pathetic excuse for a sandwich without telling me it wasn't going to be correct. This place is a joke. Went for lunch on Wednesday. Took quite a while for girl behind the bar to make three cocktails. In addition she had o personality at all. Asked for three waters which took about 15 minutes to get. Sandwiches were ok, nothing great. $15.00 each with just a pickle, no chips. Owner never came out front to say hello or any other interaction. Too be fair to the young lady behind the bar. Went to Ten Sandwiches last night because the place looked cool and intimate. Unfortunately, the male server had no interest in working there and gave us perhaps the worst service we've experienced all Summer. He kept leaving the restaurant and coming back in too (without washing his hands or with any professional conduct whatsoever). We ordered mini lobster rolls and avocado smash toast and, though it's tough to mess those up, each was completely the simplest most boring versions of each item imaginable. Absolutely loved everything about this place! First, the basic concept that they only have 10 signature beverages, and 10 sandwiches is amazing! When you walk in there's a copper bar to the left that has seats for 8, maybe 10. The decor is best described as 80's nautical Art Deco, with a touch of man men-esque vintage appeal. Their bar is retro and modern (ranging from aperol and pimms to don julio 1942). The tenth drink on the menu is a rotating tiki drink. All the drinks are made with fresh ingredients, the basket of fresh grapefruit sitting on the bar smelled so great and really added to the delicious Paloma I ordered. My boyfriend had #10 one eyed willy with fresh orange juice and a great ginger beer. The bar was packed with locals ordering out and drinking while they waited for their carry out to be prepared. I overheard them getting menus to bring home for their rentals to have in a welcome binder of great local places to eat. I so wish this place had been around 12 years ago when I spent all my free time at east beach. Give this place a shot if you really want to feel like a local, it's no where near as pricy as the ocean house, and just a short walk from the beach, flying horses, free parking and the ocean (you could get sandwiches to go and walk along the sea wall to look at the big boats while you dine). read more

If you are in Watch Hill, make an effort to stop by this place either for lunch or an evening cocktail. The concept is elegant. Ten sandwichs and ten drinks to choose from. For lunch, we had the lobster rolls which were tasty and accompanied by one of the tiki ten drinks. We followed that up with a Ballast Point grapefruit sculpin with Dels. Yum. We went back a few evenings later after dinner for more cocktails. The Blueberry 15 is excellent made with fresh blueberries. The bartenders are so friendly and fun that we ended up having a jam session with them. The only thing disappointing about this place is that I don't live close enough to become a regular. Decor and ambiance is like a mini-Olympia Tea Room (which is right next door and great, but closed for lunch M-Th). Sandwich menu and drink menu at 10 was full of favorites and "themed" with numbers as names. My wife had the tuna (#8, I think) and a cold beer. I had the Caprese with prosciutto (#10). Both were delicious with very fresh bread. I had the Pimm's Cup as a cocktail, very refreshing. Prices are reasonable for Watch Hill (where most things are expensive). Service was prompt and pleasant. We sat at the bar (really the only seats) and the bartender/waitress was working hard and nicely skilled given the small surface she had available for mixing. I got the lobster sliders for dinner and oysters. Oysters were fresh but I would skip the lobster sliders. They stopped serving the sandwiches at 6 pm so I had to opt for the dinner options. Spent the day at the beach in Watch hill and decided to get sandwiches, I got the #10 (caprese sandwich) which was $14 for 2 pieces of mozzarella, 2 slices of tomato, 1 wilted basil leaf, no balsamic and prosciutto I requested to not have (due to an allergy). My boyfriend ordered the #6 and could only have a few bites because "the flavors just dont work together" his sandwich had a thick slice of chicken, then very little bacon, and one small slice of avocado. We also had mixings of random ingredients included in our bags, so you get some nice cross contamination freebees! On the bright side the smoothie #5 was pretty good, but not worth the price. Had the number 2. The type of bread they use is slightly crunchy on the outside but soft as you chew into the sandwich. The egg was flat and stayed in the sandwich the whole time as I was eating (which I love). It had the perfect amount of arugula and avocado and bacon (crispy bacon). Very satisfying portion! Ten Sandwiches has re-opened again for 2015. So far I've only been in once but my #3 was as amazing as I remembered it. I washed it down with some Yacht Club cola & sat at their new bar. Not much to really follow up on for review as the menu isn't that updated & I usually order a 3 or 6. I love the renovations they've done as they've maximized the space with the bar area to the left & cash register on the right for ordering. Not sure if I saw them offering Del's yet. I am a big beer fan so I'm psyched to see them have a few offerings on tap & a few cans available too. I'm not really a beer with lunch kinda guy but the rumors of a "dinner" menu might make me imbibe on my next trip. I could ramble on for a bit but Ten is a cool laid back locally sourced breakfast/sandwich shop that's perfect for Watch Hill. My girlfriend and I came in here on a Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch and ended up finding a great lunch spot among the standard overpriced fare of Watch Hill. To be fair the sandwiches are anywhere between $11-18 but they are worth it! This place is great because it doesn't try to do too much. They have ten sandwiches, we tried two and they both were delicious. The one and the six were fantastic, with the slight edge to the six, as it was served warm. But both are definite do overs for us. Also worth noting that they have a strong craft beer selection and bar for your enjoyment. And the beets are not wildly overpriced at $7 a pint. Like the food menu, the cocktail list was not extensive and that works in your favor -- we had the bourbon based cocktail and it was great -- the bourbon was well mixed and you could barely taste it, despite a standard pour. Overall, we would highly recommend for sandwiches and drinks! read more

The YELP description for this restaurant needs some updating since it is no longer serves a sandwich let alone TEN Sandwiches. This is more of a bar with a couple of tables on the sidewalk. The lobster slider was about as close to a sandwich on the menu. The lobster sliders were very good and so was the first Margherita pizza. We ordered 3 items and each item came out separately twenty minutes apart. There is a sign which asks you to be patient since each Order is individually prepared. Oh, and you must use the public bathroom down behind the carousel ticket booth. Would not say this is a good place for our kids. Had a lovely early dinner here on Friday night before heading home to Connecticut! They serve, aptly, 10 sandwiches, and I believe will also make you a custom selection if you would prefer. We chose a number 3 and a number 7- roast beef with crispy shallots on a multigrain bread, and a classic style Italian cold cuts on a hearty baguette. Both choices were excellent! They serve premium meats and cheeses with unique condiments and fresh baked artisan bread. I can't think of a more artful interpretation of an Italian sub! We were both satisfied and pleased. The only downfall in my opinion is the price tag. Yes, we will pay for quality and 10 Sandwiches delivered, but two sandwiches, a bottle of water, and a bottled lemon aid came out to $40 with tip! It's no small sum! My wife and I rode our bikes to Watch Hill yesterday (July 5th) with a plan to lunch at 10 Sandwiches in its new location. It was great to see Fazio brothers working behind the counter and see many of the trappings of the Westerly site on the walls. The new place was buzzing with folks enjoying the picture perfect day at the beach. There was a line of folks waiting to order and waiting for sandwiches, despite having 4 guys working hard to prepare sandwiches, smoothies and salads. But the 10 minute wait for our food to be prepared was well worth it...as we could sit outside on sidewalk tables and enjoy the view of the harbor. It's a great site for people-watching too! Who knows, you just might see new local Taylor Swift stroll by. And most importantly, the sandwiches were as great as ever. I enjoyed the number 4 yesterday - fresh chicken salad with a layer of sliced grapes on a heavenly Vesta ciabatta roll. My wife enjoyed the new beet salad offering and we shared a delicious green smoothie made with kale spinach, banana and mango. And of course, local produce and goods are still featured, including Dave's coffee! We will definitely be back again many times this summer. We hope, too, to see them open an off-season location too...don't know of any businesses that stay open through the winter in Watch Hill. read more

A quaint deli type shop with fresh local ingredients, a few local beers on tap, local sodas (Yacht Club!), and some outdoor sidewalk tables to enjoy the delicious sandwiches outside. Or take them to go and walk across the street to the beach! Can't go wrong either way. I had the mozzarella, tomato, and prosciutto which was so delicious. I stopped in with my daughter for a nice sandwich for lunch. The staff was friendly and helpful. I always order a lobster roll when I am near the shore. The amount of lobster that was on the roll was not worth the $25 price. I felt like I mainly had nice bread with a little lobster. This is a good option for a breakfast (before 11am) or lunch sanGwich. The place is run by all students and the turnaround on orders is relatively quick. Everything is made to order and the cold cuts and other ingredients all tasted very good on a soft ciabatta roll. It is conveniently located on your way to/from the beach. I did a herb crusted chicken sanGwich which was good. I also grabbed a smoothie (strawberry, raspberry, banana, almond milk) which was refreshing. I wish I made it early for a breakfast delight, but coming in at 10:55 am didn't make the cut :( They have a limited menu of only 20 or so things, which makes things much simpler in the end. The inside is fun, with great wooden , nautical, local decor. There's a lot of light, and direct view to the water. It's super inviting and cozy. They have seating outside for great people watching (maybe even a T. swift sighting... I wish!). We ordered and had our sandwiches within 10 minutes, it was perfect. My caprese was everything I needed, it met all my sandwich requirements by being fresh, no sauce, nothing soggy, nothing mixing, ciabatta (hellooo, that's the only sandwich bread that should ever exist), and easy to eat.
