My friend had the chicken fried rice, which made her happy because she could request which vegetables to add or leave out along with the chicken and rice. Her portion size was generous too. I had the sushi Mori large, and it was okay. It's described as a "chef's choice" with an additional side of spicy tuna or California roll. Like I said, it was just okay. The menu itself is overwhelming. It's hard to decide what you might want because the rolls seem placed on the pages without any kind of obvious organization. Love this place. If you can catch them during a slow period, you've impressed me because they bring a lot of attention. Smaller intimate setting. Very nice decor and atmosphere overall. They range from traditional to modern spins on commonly know sushi rolls. Every single item is listed with a real photograph. There no confusion as to what you are ordering even if the roll is 100% unique to the restaurant. Prices are what you would expect for any reasonable sushi bar, but with really quality behind their dishes. I've spent the same at other places and they really craft everything they make and it shows in the flavor. I come here often and have not been let down yet even when they are packed. When I'm in the mood for sushi I have waited with enthusiasm when they have a queue for a table and that's and that's not something they I would normally do. Miyako' s opened for dine-in seating on Monday May 25, 2020 at 50% capacity. Social distancing was most definitely observed and we felt very safe and comfortable. Our waitress was Panisa, she wore gloves and a mask. She was so sweet and so appreciative that we were there. She kept a good watch over us and we never needed anything. The whole experience was outstanding. The highlight of the visit was of course the sushi. It was absolutely wonderful. Amazingly fresh and delicious. The presentation was beautiful. These little pork pockets of heaven were delish. For the sushi I ordered the Red Dragon, Salmon Lemon, and the Sixth Sense. I've had them before and they are my favorites and tonight did not disappoint. I also got to try the Mussels Yaki and I was very surprised how delicious these were. Ok the sushi here is terrific !! And I don't know of anything else on the menu besides sushi because that's all I get Its fresh imaginative and always tasty. My favorite being the red dragon roll. My daughters both love the Tony P roll and the summer splash roll So the food is terrific but I normally prefer to eat takeout from here because while the tables are okay the chairs are old, worn and honestly quite dirty. There are often cobwebs easily seen and the bathrooms just have a dirty feel for them even if they're clean. Basically the inside is due for an overhaul. Otherwise it would give this place five stars So to avoid looking at these yucky things, look your friends in their eyes and have a good conversation & when your food comes ---eat your food with your eyes closed! read more

I wish I could take back the past hour of my life. Place was dead. We weren't greeted when we entered...so much so that I wondered if we were in the wrong place. Teenage hosts sat and studied seating chart for a solid- SOLID- 4 mins, in total silence, before instructing us to follow one of them to our table. No hi, hello, welcome to this crap hole. Bring your own water when you come, because no one will check on you. We left 80% of our food untouched. Sushi is not supposed to be mush dressed up in some Mayo concoction. They brought four rolls on one plate. When we asked which was which, the waitress answered "I don't know what you ordered actually". This being Soartanburg, there aren't a lot of choices. Welp. That was a disappointment from the minute we walked in. Hostesses barely looked up and barely acknowledged us. They were dressed in street clothes as if teenagers at the mall. Place wasn't busy (6pm on Wednesday night) but they sat us at a 2 top against the wall, with a table too small to hold apps and meals. We ordered 2 Apps and 4 rolls. One app came out after a ridiculously long wait, then one roll, then three more rolls, then finally the other app. No water was ever refilled. One roll was good. One was edible. The other 2 sat untouched. I did enjoy our 2 apps, though. It was my birthday dinner and they brought us the check without even asking if we wanted anything else other than a box for the untouched rolls. So much for dessert. Definitely a disappointing birthday dinner and will likely never be back. read more

This is our favorite sushi in the upstate. Always really good sushi and pleasant service. The mussels are spectacular. Some.of our favorite rolls are Summer Splash, Silk Road, Crab Crunch, Rainbow, and Ocean. All of the food we have had here has been good. The only reason they are not a 5 is because it is not fast. I think it is by design to an extent. It is a sit down and enjoy a nice meal place. Not a grab a quick bite on the way home place. We will always go back. Just do not expect anything fast. read more

Miyakos is hands down the best sushi place ever! I have never once had a bad meal here. One thing I adore about this place is that there are pictures of literally every sushi roll. This has been my favorite sushi restaurant for almost 11years but here recently I have been ordering takeout because of poor service and passive aggressive racism. The last straw was when i caught the attention of my server before she walked off.
