Cold drizzle evening. Saw this place earlier in the day when we were looking for a lunch spot to meet a customer. Walked in and was seated immediately at a nice high top. Service was top notch. Due to the cold evening started with a nice warm miso soup which was good. I ordered two rolls which I neglected to take a pix of but they were as delicious as they were petty. I had the bang bang shrimp roll and then the mama roll. Both were large and delicious. Brightly colored and modern looking. Heavy traffic in and out of store. Great corner spot to watch folks come and go. Due to the construction downtown parking is an issue but I was able to find a place close enough. read more

I came in with high hopes, but the service was honestly terrible. I ordered a soda that was completely watered down, and when I asked for a new one, it took over 10 minutes to get it--despite staff standing around and clearly seeing me waiting. The replacement soda was even more watered down than the first. It looks like sweet tea. No one checked on us again after that. Our server avoided eye contact and had an attitude the entire time. When we tried to order more food, she ignored us completely. We told another server what we wanted, and she said she'd let our server know--but nothing ever happened. It was especially frustrating because the restaurant wasn't even busy. The table behind us was being constantly checked on, the staff were chatting with them, taking pictures, and giving them all the attention. As women ourselves, it honestly felt like the female servers were deliberately ignoring us--almost like there was attitude involved for no reason. We were polite the entire time, so there was no excuse for that kind of behavior. This made the entire experience uncomfortable and awkward. We won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend this place if you care about respectful service. read more

I experienced the worst service by my waitress today. Anytime she was at our table she gave us attitude and was very rude regardless of our constant please, thank you, and our respect. I understand people have off days but it was the most terrible service I have seen. When we asked for napkins she looked at us in disgust and never brought them. Everything she put on the table she would slam down. I enjoyed every konnichiwa I have ever been to but this one is one I will not be returning to. read more

Great to have another option downtown for Japanese. Miyako is good if you just want sushi but their other food is less than desirable. Konnichiwa has sushi and has bento and a much better menu. It also has great staff and way more laid back than Miyako, and way more traditional. Food is great. read more

The Mama Roll was amazing! I've been here before and have had their bowls, which are great but first time getting a roll. I don't eat raw sushi so this roll was cooked - deep fried actually.
