I was skeptical about the "yum yum sauce" at first because of how it looked, but once I tasted it, my eyes lit up. A MUST TRY! Fuji is a really great place to eat. We eat here once a week and one thing is that they are always consistent! If you have never been here they serve Japanese hibachi. All plates come with their white shrimp sauce, but we always order sides of teriyaki too. The carrots are sweet tasting so good. But not for everyone. We usually get our food to-go. But have eaten inside many times. They speak English there well so worries on that. Everyone is very feeling. They are extremely quick. Again very consistent! The decor is very cool yet basic. Nothing too outrageous. Family friendly, the bathrooms are clean and don't smell. Fully stocked with paper and soap! Which is a plus in my book. Writing this during covid era and I want the best for the business but the truth for the consumer. I came here upon a recommendation and saw the reviews were not bad. Either people don't know what good food is supposed to taste like or the people reviewing have no taste. This place is sub par. Really outdated and needs a renovation. The free soup that was given is like a chicken broth with no flavor that was not palatable. The food came out within 3 minutes of ordering which is alarming quick for teriyaki. The rice tastes like it came out of an uncle Ben's packet and did not taste fresh. The beef was chewy and chicken was dry. The mushrooms were not cooked enough and still crunchy. The carrots also seem like they came out of a can and are very sweet and soft. The only way to eat the food was thanks to the sweet white sauce that came with the plate to mask the flavor. Definitely not a 4 star restaurant. If you like the food then you have a desensitized palate from all those freezer foods and fast food you have been eating. I think the allure to Fuji Express is the pricing. Super cheap food, huge quantities, and all was fresh as well as delicious. While we were on the highway we yelped Japanese food and this was at the top of the list. I don't know if it was an oversight on our part, but we thought we'd be able to order a couple of sushi rolls but you wont find that here. So if you're specifically looking for sushi; keep on searching. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy. I got my vegan fix at under $10 so I am definitely not complaining. Side note - if you're into spicy food, ask them to bring over some of their fresh chillies; spectacular! read more

We've been here many times before, but never had a bad experience until tonight. Usually we are seated, but the staff basically pointed to the seating area and told us to seat ourselves with his back to us. We proceeded to seat ourselves. Food was cold. Steak was dry. Rushed to get us out at 8pm when the closing time is 9:30pm. Staff started to clean the floor right where we were seated. They pushed for To-go boxes and to-go cups for all of us while 3 out of 4 of us were still eating our meals. Probably not going to come back at all. read more

I have had Japanese Hibachi and Teriyaki vegetable plates many times at many Japanese restaurants before. I have never been impressed with them because they are usually very bland. However, that was not the case when I tried Fuji for the first time today. I had the Tofu Teriyaki dish (vegan) and it was fantastic. It was very flavorful. The tofu was nice and crispy and the veggies were seared a bit. The portion size was better than any other Japanese restaurant that had served me before. And on top of all that, the prices were very reasonable. My dish was $6! Atmosphere was fine, not too spartan or flashy. The waitstaff was very attentive. Overall, I had a great experience. I have to give them 5 stars. I couldn't ask for more in a restaurant. I WILL be back! read more

Do not understand how this restaurant has 4 1/2 stars. I will say the dressing for the salad was quite good. The shrimp was not overcooked. But beyond that, there was no discernible Bonito or kombu in the miso. Over cooked carrots were served along side bland rice. The steak The steak and shrimp combination, which included broccoli, was OK, but a mediocre home cook could put out a much better plate. My father got food poisoning here and my mother's hibachi steak was undercooked and made her really sick so be careful. I've heard of lots of people getting sick recently from their food. Dont let your kids eat it. Overall the food taste good but it is a little pricey and they nickle and dime you on extra sauce. Who does that at a place like this? Can you imagine being in a restaurant and asking for some mayo or ketchup on the side and then see a line item for it on your bill? That should be built into the menu prices so as not to make the customer feel exploited. Obviously the management at Fuji has no concept of customer satisfaction. They care about what they're serving. Always cooked fresh to order. I'm vegan and orderd the Teriyaki Tofu and it was beyond amazing. You can tell the chefs there are not just highly knowledgeable, but care about how they prepare the food. Fast service and food is generally good. However, the people running the registers have absolutely no personality and are some times just rude! Also there is a lady waitress in there, nice, but can barely understand or speak English. I ordered my son a kids plate, but she wrote down a regular plate. When they brought it out, I tried to explain to her that he needed the smaller plate with no success. Finally I told her never mind. When I got to the register I told the guy with a pony tail and his response was "Did you tell her?" I replied "Yes, but she couldn't understand me." His reply was "Well, if he ate any of it, you have to pay for it!" He was rude, did not care about the communication barrier and would not honor what I ordered.
