We have always had a good experience coming here. I got a haircut from Leah today and from the moment we walked in the whole experience wasn't good. I'm sure we all are particular about are barbers. I'm always weary about using someone new and took the chance as I needed the cut. I was disappointed! I wanted a medium-high fade, faded into the existing undercut I have, with my beard faded into the zero-cut sides. I got a high fade, including fading the undercut, one side of my beard cut to the middle of my ear the other at the top of my ear neither faded. You can tell she was rushing and didn't take her time, not did she listen to myself as a customer what I wanted. She did offer to not charge me and I repeat that, but I insisted on still paying and tipping. read more

If I could give a half star I would. It's hard to believe o paid $18 for this. I'm sure the barber that cut my hair was still learning but please don't charge full price for work that hasn't been perfected to validate the price. Maybe it's because I have mixed hair and resembles mmkkk of an African American pattern but I wouldn't recommend coming here if you have curly hair. It's hard to find a barber that can cut your hair, and this place isn't it. The barber in the first chair wasn't even aware of the other in the side room. Quality of cuts went way down. Stopped going here years ago and just wanted to update my review. My last cut was by the girl with a tattoo sleeve on one arm. She took over an hour, kept leaving to check her phone, and didn't properly finish my haircut (kept refusing to use scissors on top as requested, left back uncut, uneven line around sides and back, asked for taper but didn't get it... instead got some weird layered technique). I asked if she could fix what I pointed out and she just said the haircut was already done (refused to fix). I was already late to a wedding, so I just left and never went back. read more

Last night was at the the Sunflower location at last customer of the night. Customer service is good reviews as far as what I got was definitely not what I was asking for in a haircut style. Ask for a spike Mohawk. 1 attempted I received a mullet haircut and was asked how was it was. Well not to my satisfaction so 2 attempt at it was a Fohawk then asked how that was & still not up to par with the haircut I said a Mohawk with a spike & about a dollar bill length overall. 3 attempts was to fix it all together with cutting the middle length to about less than 2 inches in the middle and might I add my hair walking in was about 8 inches in length overall. Now comes the final cut to everything else it was more then 4 inches overall in width on top and 2 inches in center and just said thank you for your service today and paid the 25 bucks to never make that mistake again to go back.... read more

Typically my favorite place to bring the boys for haircuts but today a new barber did a horrible job. My son didn't speak up for himself & when I returned him to the shop, the barber insulted our integrity and accused us of lying, stating that he would not have allowed him to leave that way. In addition, I NEVER said I was in a rush, I did say I was on my lunch hour, which is more than plenty of time for a measly trim. You cant really tell if the cut is all nice and clean when the the person cutting your hair out apply in the pomade or gel just before you see if it's good. $20 HAIRCUT I DIDN'T ASK FOR. This was my first time in this shop. It was quick service which is appreciated but I was unhappy with the outcome of my experience. I asked for a natural fade beginning at my sideburns into my hair, maybe because there was a strong language barrier(unhelpful) she shaved my sideburns completely off!! The was the start. She had my backed to the mirror, isn't unheard of, but when I turned around there was no fade at all! She shaved the side of my head completely. And when I told her that it wasn't what I wanted because it was too short and no fade. She said "oh well we have to start shorter then" and I replied that's why I wanted you to start at my sideburns.... she tries to clean it up but ends up SHAVING MORE OFF. by this time I've had enough! Asked her to clean a few loose hairs, paid basically $20 for a haircut I didn't ask for. Now both sides aren't the same because I was in fear she would shave too much on the other side. So, I checked this place out for the first time because it had good reviews on yelp. I met this stylist by the name of Raquel and she seemed like a cool chick so I said, "why not?". She asked me exactly what I wanted and she took her time and was very professional the whole time. My haircut came out exactly the way I wanted and I was 100% satisfied! They always have an interesting movie playing. As far as the haircuts go, I really love the way they cut my hair. Lately, I have been getting a comb over and after trying a few of their barbers I have chosen Hilda to hook it up. She always cuts it the way I like it. I notice that every patron who walks out has a nice cut. MJ's has professional Barbers who like to make their customers happy. Cons: From what I have heard, the employee turn around is noticible. The owner, who was busy hustling and making shop improvements, is a die hard Lakers fan like I am, and has decorated the spot in Lakers gear accordingly! Nice. A young, tall, cute brunette named Raquel assisted me in hooking up my hairstyle preference and nailed it perfectly. She was cordial, pleasant, absolutely skillful, and washed my hair out before AND AFTER my haircut was finished!
