They also upcharge parts by 400%, stay away. On top of all that they have the audacity to tack on a sir charge. As far as speed they are terrible. Had me in and out in an hour and everyone was very personable. I asked for a general inspection and oil change and they managed to find things that the local dealership hadn't in nearly two years; going above and beyond to make sure everything was double checked and taken care of. Mechanic even went ahead and took care of grease points, tire pressure, and other little odds and ends I wouldn't have recalled to ask for. He also would double back with me to inform me about things he found and recommended getting serviced and/or replaced, showing me the proof of why and offering options. I ended up giving him the go ahead on everything. It was nice to feel involved and informed every step of the process while knowing exactly who was working on my car. They didn't even mind that I just hung around nearby while the work was done, which shows a distinct level of confidence and trustworthiness. Would definitely recommend!

After the proper repair was performed at a different shop, they admitted the mistake, and refunded their fee, paid for towing, and over half the car rental. They were very professional, and did their utmost to make up for our trouble. If you live in this area, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND State Street as they truly are honorable and overall competent. GMM A frustrating experience. My daughter's Subaru Impreza had a bad front differential with front wheels skipping on turns. Another shop replaced both front axles and U joints, though only one was bad. A very nice service manager, John Turnbull told me they could take the transmission apart and check the front differential in the manual transmission assembly. My daughter drove 1 hour to their shop, had to rent a car, etc. I then was told the right front axle (one U joint-inner or outer not specified) was bad. After a 3 way call with my original shop, and learning that State Street now could NOT take the transmission apart, we had to tow it back to her hometown. The original shop again replaced the R front axle, but the problem persisted due to the bad front differential. We had to expensively replace the the differential/transmission-original shop credited us for all axle labor. My complaint is 3 fold: 1-I was led to believe they could work on the actual front differential after their diagnosis confirmation 2-misdiagnosis of U joint malfunction when I specifically stated most likely front differential problem with 2 new front axles 3-Free diagnostic checkup suggesting services too soon, and services clearly performed in service book left on front seat. I had requested refund for their inaccurate diagnosis work June 15 and John said he would look into request.

I was optimistic about the speedy response until the person on the phone quoted me a price. It was much, much higher than I'd ever paid for a simple repair. But, my auto knowledge is limited. I assumed the parts needed must've been expensive. I agreed, and after several days (apparently they were having trouble getting a part) my vehicle was ready. When I arrived to pick it up I looked through the receipt before paying to find that the bulk of the cost was actually labor. The labor cost was nearly 3x the cost of the parts needed. On top of that the final cost was nearly $150 more than what I was quoted over the phone! I will say that the issue with my vehicle was fixed. So, apparently they do competent work. That's the only reason I didn't give a lower rating. However, I won't be going back. This interaction did teach me a lesson, though. In future I will ask about labor costs upfront as I'm sure I could've gotten this repair done for a much more reasonable price at a shop that charges much more reasonable rates for labor. I would advise anyone thinking of getting auto repair work done at this place to be wary and prepared for the cost.

They had the audacity to suggest several thousand dollars in unnecessary repairs but simultaneously issued a disclaimer stating that they could not guarantee any if these repairs would fix the problem. I was still charged the diagnostic fee despite having nothing to show for their "work," and I got an oil change out of pure necessity. Setting $400.00 on fire would've been more productive than the help I received from TJ and staff. And I still had to drive away anxious at the thought of the car breaking down on the highway again. To top it off, there is now a completely new code showing up that Stadium either caused, didn't check for, or neglected to mention. I'm ashamed to admit that these so-called honest experts totally ripped me off, but they would have made my situation way worse if I had approved any more of their recommended repairs. After my experience, I wouldn't even trust them to fix a microwave meal.

Very disappointed. My son's vehicle overheated and had to be towed somewhere for repairs. I…read morepicked this place due to it's proximity to his house and the ratings I found online. I live a few hours away so I wasn't planning on fixing it myself and didn't have any personal knowledge of any repair shops in the area. The only thing the shop found was a bad water pump. However, they immediately quoted him $8,000 for head/head gaskets/cooling system rebuild (with no guarantee that it would be fixed completely) or $12,000 for a new engine (with guarantee). They did do a TDS test on the coolant which shows it was contaminated. That test alone is not enough to automatically assume head gasket or head failure particularly on a vehicle with 180K miles which just had a catastrophic cooling system failure I had the vehicle towed to my house, I replaced the water pump, serpentine belt and flushed the cooling system. I've pressure tested the cooling system, did a combustion leak test and have driven it extensively, it is just fine. Total cost $170. I won't be recommending he return here.

David apologized and cleared my check engine light and asked me to call back. In the meantime the check engine light came on again confirming I had a bad oxygen sensor. I had purchased my own parts and was ready for the installation. When David and I next talked he offered to come to my house pick up my car and take it back to the shop to fix the problem. David came to my house and repaired the car and brought it back. Wow what service! The price he charged me for the labor was very fair and lower than any other bids I had obtained. Despite the early appointment issue David more than made up for it with his kind offer. The car runs fine and David gave me the old parts verifying the replacement.
