Flat Shoals Pkwy/Decatur, Georgia location: Went first time in early December 2022 on a Sunday and the cornbread tasted good but the collard greens tasted like they were cooked in too salty chicken broth and mac and cheese tasted like mushy plain noodles cooked in chicken noodle soup with no cheese flavor and dressing had consistency of soaked sandwich bread and tasted sweet like jiffy muffin mix. Maybe it was an off day. So I went back a second time on December-21-2022 and the cornbread and chicken tasted good, but the taste of the cabbage and mac and cheese was drowned out by the taste of salty chicken broth. The guy who works there is rude, impatient and incompetent. Last night he incorrectly took my nephew's and my order then proceeded to act as if we were wrong for asking about the rest of our food when they finally brought half of it out. Then when we asked about purchasing the sides we asked for earlier it just sent him over the edge and he lost all professionalism. Haven't been to this place in a while and will probably never come back. I don't like feeling like I'm incoveniencing you by trying to givyou my money. Went there on Saturday and noticed the server weren't wearing gloves or masks while serving food. She kept flipping her hair with her gloveless hand. She even touched her nose then continued to serve food. I just left. Tried to call but no one answered the phone. Luckily it was me and not the Health inspector. Do better. read more

I frequent this spot at least monthly. The staff is very friendly and the prices are very fair. I usually get one of their family meals that'll included 8+pieces of chicken and two sides + rolls. They even threw in a few extra pieces the last visit. The restaurant is set up cafeteria style. The collards and mac & cheese are always on point and the chicken is good as well. read more

My husband and I live 5 minutes from this place and never tried it until 3 weeks ago. We were told about 2 years ago the food was good. And they were right. We've gone twice now and each time I get a veggie plate. The collard greens were cooked to perfection, so were the black eyed peas. The mac n cheese was cheesy and delicious and the yams were on point. The second time I got the green beans, cabbage, Mac n cheese and yam. The food is well seasoned, my husband had their meatloaf which they give you a HUGE portion. It was excellent, well seasoned with onions and green peppers. The consistency was great. The price of the food is proportionate to the amount of food you get. Each time service was good. We're pretty much hooked and have told SEVERAL of our friends about this place. I go for lunch almost every day to get a serving of black eyed peas or lima beans. I tell'em to put half beans & the rest juice so I can put my corn bread in it. And I get a piece of spicy fried chicken breast, a slice of pound cake, go back to work sit in the car so I can eat like I wanna. We also go sometimes @ nite and get food. After fellowshipping with Power of Faith Family Worship Center around the corner, I ate here for what I think is now my 4th time. As usual, it was delicious, once again I enjoyed the outstanding chicken. However, as I dined inside the premises, I experienced something just a little different this time, which caused me to remove one star from my previous reviews. Coming out of the Sanctuary there were a lot of people waiting in line - fine - I see no problem with waiting a couple minutes for quality. Perhaps on account of all the orders/all the food being baked and fried, it was very warm inside there. The 1st of May temperature was just 80° but without air conditioning or even a couple of fans, it definitely took some enjoyment out of this meal(wiping off my forehead and cheeks of the constant sweat). Other than that I would've given them a 5 star review again. Just a tip, FYI; management, please get a couple fans in there before summertime REALLY hits. read more

Mo Better is a staple restaurant in my house for good fried chicken like your mama makes. The fried fish and baked chicken/turkey wings are seasoned just right. The veggies are always fresh and the rolls are big & buttery. It also helps that it's reasonably priced and in the neighborhood. Give them a try you won't be disappointed. read more

I decided to check out this place yesterday and I got the two piece chicken dinner with rice and yams and cornbread. The chicken had some type of aftertaste that I couldn't figure out but it wasn't pleasant. It tasted a little bit better after the skin was gone and I drowned it in hot sauce . The yams and rice were edible...nothing to write home about. Overall this will probably be my first and last visit. As a plus the server was personable. read more

They could have offered to refund me my money but they continued to say that they don't know what happened but next time when I come back they will replace what was missing. That's fine if the location was convenient but do not inconvenience the customer and brush me off as if my money or my patronage is insignificant. If I can go out of my way to visit your establishment please go out of your way to rewrite your wrong. They can keep that change because there are other places that I can spend my money! Today was my first and last day at this restaurant. I came in and stood in line to order. I needed to use the restroom, butthe two women serving were busy so I walked to the back and used the restroom. When I came out ready to order, the Indian looking woman on the register told me off loudly in front of all the customers that I was not to use the restroom. I said, umm I didn't know. She said there's chairs there. There were no chairs blocking the restroom door so I was confused. When it was time for her to ring me up, I told her again that it was my first time in the restaurant and I didn't know I couldn't use the restroom. She said very rudely "that's everywhere. It's a pandemic going on. You can't use anyone's restroom. " I've been to several eateries since COVID started and no one ever told me that. And it makes no sense because what does that have to do with a Respiratory infection?? She then forgot to give me my rice and silverware. I had to ask for that. What appalled me was that even after telling her it was my first time there, she never apologized or felt any remorse for being so rude to me over something so petty in front of people. I will also add that the food wasn't worth getting cusses out over. So with that in mind, I would never ever return to this establishment to eat nor would I encourage anyone else to eat here. read more

The reason being is that I went there on my lunch break to get my (2) co-worker and I something to eat. I order two items of the same thing one for me and the other one was for my one of my co-worker. Then I order a third item for another one- the cashier stated that I can not order this item because they have to save it for the next customer- Now it was no one there but me. I ask the young lady so if I get someone else to come in behind me and order my item than she can get it to them.
