I went back to college and needed so cut my expenses, so going from a smartphone to a "dumb" phone under AT&T would save me about $600/yr. HOWEVER, you can't just up and buy a basic phone w/o waiting for an upgrade or shelling out $300 for a flip phone..... Queue Mobile Karma! I picked up a Motorola Slvr L7 from back when AT&T was Cingular and it works great, it also only cost me $20! I had the same phone many years ago and it stood up against a beating, so i'm confident this one will get me thru a lot and if it does break, another phone is only $20 and 3days away - which is a cost cheaper than 1month of data. The only reason i gave them 4stars out of five, is because they get their phones from people donating or selling them, so the best condition you'll get one in is "good". which means it works perfectly, but the outside shell might look like you dropped it out the car window at 80mph. They have very good priced phones and they are refurbished well. The first time I got a package from them it was the wrong phone, but we had to take it to a ups store and send it back. They would send the right one until that package was back. This took 12 days then another 6 to get the right one. 18 days!!! That is ridiculous!!! I purchased 2 LG VX5600 Accolade Verizon phones from Mobile Karma in September 2012. Just out of warranty, one of them died. :( I reactivated my original LG phone until I could find my directions for activating the other new phone. But remembering that I spent an entire afternoon activating the first one, I've been reluctant to donate my time to activating the other and I've been making due with the unsightly, but still functional original LG. I'll let you know how it goes when I get the motivation to activate the other new Mobile Karma backup phone, but so far, I'm not impressed with a phone that functioned for less than 60 days. read more

I ordered a phone through them and it was a piece of junk that did not work and I was very upset and figured I had been taken, but when I contacted them with my issue, they did refund my money. I have to say I was at least impressed with that. Looks like some others have had positive experiences. At this point, I would give zero stars if I could. The phone that came could not be used on Verizon's service as advertised on Mobile Karma's website. I have tried to contact the company via phone and have not heard back from them. When I went to the website, I found that it was "parked" by GoDaddy.com and no longer contained information about the company. Even the link on their Yelp page will take you to the GoDaddy website. I am very frustrated that I spent several hundred dollars on a phone that I cannot use, nor can I send it back as it looks like they have very suddenly gone out of business. I will be contacting the BBB at this point to see what can be done if anything. I ordered the sprint HTC 4g Evo which I received today I took it to the sprint store to have my number added to it when myself and the sprint employees noticed the right side of the screen did not function they changed the screen for me to see if this would rectify the problem however it did not luckily I have insurance on my plan so they are going to order me a new one. I feel cheated and lied to because the description your website gave for the phone was that it was in mint condition needless to say this will be my first and last time doing business with you this goes to show it's not worth taking short cuts. WORST BUYING EXPERIENCE!!! NO ORDER CONFIRMATION EMAILED AND NO WAY TO CONTACT ANYONE!!! I placed an order 10 days ago for a refurbished Verizon cell phone and to start out with I never got an email to confirm the order was placed along with giving me an order #. I waited close to a week for some kind of notification and decided to call them after seeing that they collected payment and charged my card right away. I started off by calling the # listed on the Mobile Karma site. That went immediately to voicemail. The message said to send an email because it was the easiest way for them to respond. I left a voicemail and then followed with an email. I waited a few days and got no response. I then called my bank to see if they had a different number to call, which they did. I called that number and it went to the same voicemail. I did some research online and found out they were owned by a company called ReCellular. I called their phone number and got a company directory. I tried getting through to the sales dept, customer service, accounts payable, the receptionist, and even HR. Not one single line was picked up and I left messages on a few of the lines. I tried calling back multiple times in the next 2 days hoping maybe I was just catching someone at lunch. I ended up having to call my bank and dispute the charge. I would've given this 0 stars if I could. I think there's a chance they may have gone out of business but they're still taking money from people. read more

A good solution to my need for a replacement smartphone. Three months after using my upgrade to get a new phone and thereby extending my Verizon contract by 2 years, my Razr was "lost or stolen." My alternatives were to buy another phone at full price, or get a used one that could be activated on the Verizon network. I got a used Razr that works great and is in very good condition, just as advertised on the website. I didn't get my receipt by email when I first ordered and thought maybe it was one of those places that advertises all kinds of products they don't have, takes your order and then tries to figure out how to fill it. However, when I called a couple of days later Clayton told me my phone had shipped and that they were having some issues with automated emails. and he promptly emailed me my receipt with tracking number. read more

I ordered two phones for work. One of them died after a few weeks (screen went completely black for no reason). I tried to email them since it was still under the 30 day warranty but my email was rejected for "bad address" (tried several times, even clicking directly on the email link on their web site). Tried calling their toll free number and waited on hold for very long time without ever getting to speak with human. I left several phone messages for them but never got a call back. Maybe you will be luckier and your phone will work. But if you have to deal with customer service, you are out of luck. They don't seem to have any customer service. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. I paid for 2-Day shipping and they failed to send my order out promptly. I chose 2-day shipping because I was without a cell phone. I still have yet to receive my phone. When I called to complain and ask for the 2-Day shipping cost to be refunded-- they were rude, unresponsive, and would not refund the shipping cost. I asked to speak with a manager, and of course the manager is 'not accepting calls at this time'. I then asked to speak with his supervisor. I was put on hold for 10 minutes, and then was hung up on. This is NOT a professional company and does NOT have even decent customer service. Do yourself a favor and spend your money supporting a company that values and cares about their customers satisfaction. I purchased a Verizon Samsung Reality phone for my wife who dropped and broke hers. She works nights and needs a phone so I went for 2 day delivery and it was delivered on time. However that's where it all went south...! The phone which was 'Refurbished' and 'Excellent Condition', will not hold onto a signal. It searches all the time, so I brought it to Verizon and they said there was nothing they could do and I should send it back to Mobile Karma/Recellular for a refund/exchange... well that was a week ago. They do not answer their phones or emails (and I have sent many of each), I even set up a dispute with Paypal and Mobile Karma/ Recellular hasn't even answered that!! This place is terrible. I was looking to buy iPhones for Cricket. So I found some nice 32 GB white and black iphones (his and hers). So I ordered them at 209.00 each. This seemed like the smart thing to do since 8GB iPhones are 199.00. So, it had been 2 days since I ordered and no order confirm from them, nothing. The only thing I got in my inbox was a email from google trusted stores which stated I ordered 1 8GB and 1 32GB iphone. So I email them about this issue and after 3 days they inform me that they still haven't shipped my item (thank goodness because I wanted to resolve the memory issue) but it was just due to their laziness) and they send me a order receipt saying I ordered 2 8GB iphones. I disputed this with them but to no avail, I took it up with google but they are telling me the issue is resolved. And I still have no phone on day 6. I ordered an iPhone 5c for T-Mobile. It arrived and did not work. T-Mobile store told me it was balcklisted. Mobile Karma does not check for this, and apparently does not test their phones on the air at all! So you are definitely at risk buying from them. They did honor their return guarantee, but it took emails from me and ten days to get my refund. Seems better to buy via ebay from someone who tells you their phone was working. read more

Mobile Karma scammed me. I purchased an iPhone from them that was perfect for 2 months...then suddenly stopped working. The owner of the phone never payed off their bill on it. Mobile Karma did not tell me about this. Now the phone is worthless because mobile karma sold me a phone that was going to be de-activated by all carriers like T-Mobile and Verizon. I will never use Mobile Karma again. Their service is also terrible. They are not contactable from 1 pm on fridays until monday. Their website is no longer working and and the email isn't working either. I strongly hope that no one else get's scammed by this company. I then called Mobile Karma and spoke to Leonard who informed me that there were no replacement phones in stock and that I can return it for a refund however it will take two weeks. I then asked him what I was supposed to do about a phone and he had no suggestion other than go onto there website and purchase another one. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I ordered a phone for my little brothers birthday and paid to have it shipped by priority mail so I could have it in time for his birthday party. I received an email from Mobilekarma telling me my package had been sent along with a tracking number to keep up with its progress. The tracking number I was issued was invalid and when I put it into USPS.com nothing could be pulled up. So I called the post office and was told to contact the person that was suppose to be sending my package because they had no information on it. I contact MobileKarma on the day I should have received the phone and was assured I would get my package, to just give it one more day. Well 3 days have past along with my brothers party, which I had no gift for, and I still have not gotten the phone or received any answers as to where it might be.
