My car broke down yesterday while driving through Lakeside. I called AAA and they said they'd send a tow truck within an hour. As soon as I hung up the phone I got an automated call from Mobile Repairs saying that they'd be arriving in less than fifteen minutes. The tow truck arrived exactly at the promised time, and within five minutes the driver hooked my car onto the flatbed and we were on our way to a AAA service center. He dropped me off with my car and flagged down a mechanic to get me signed in, letting me know I was all set and that the shop would include any costs in my final bill. While I of course don't hope that anyone ever needs to have their car towed, I was very impressed with the quick service I received. read more

Unbelievably bad service. Waited over five hours for a tow on a non-busy day. SECOND time this has happened. The phone rep was less than honest, and the wait time was inexcusable. Never again. I cancelled my AAA membership and added tow service to both my State Farm insurance and Verizon account... still saving over $100.00 per year. Avoid AAA AND these people. He communicated his estimated arrival time so that I was always in the know. Not only did he fix my battery issue, he also educated me about the repair; how he cleaned the battery (located in the trunk) and how to maintain it. I just had my car towed by this company and I could not have had a better experience. I've had my car towed three other times by different companies and I've never had as nice of a tow truck driver in my experiences. Brian was very sweet he even took the time to see if he could figure out what was wrong with my car and was able to give me a diagnosis. He was able to make my experience so smooth and stress free. I cannot begin to express how thankful I am for the services provided by this company. I have been a frequent AAA user and this is by far my favorite experience. I bought a new car 2 weeks ago and woke up the other morning to find out my battery was dead. I called AAA and got a quick jump from the first towing company that showed up to help me. I drove around for 30 mins to "recharge the battery". After parking to run an errand I returned to a dead car. Barely 15mins after calling AAA for the second time that day, my amazing battery technician from Mobile Repairs appears. Now, as a young girl in her 20s I am frequently used to being written off as a girl who doesn't need any direct info on the mechanics of her car, but not this guy ! My driver walked me through every step of the jump, did a full diagnostic of the cars battery, diagnosed my battery as a bad connection( rather than simply writing it off as a dead battery, cleaned the connections, and taught me some very keen tips regarding how to handle a future situation! He kept me company through the whole ordeal, and had some great jokes and stories to top off the whole experience! I have this companies card and I plan on using them again. You've never met better people who will sit with you and actually get to the root of the problem. 10/10 will use again read more

This company is horrible, AAA contracts them and need to get their money. Tow truck guy tows my truck 5/21 to mechanic shop, tells me all is good, on 5/23 I ask mechanic what's wrong with truck he said I didnt even know it was towed here. I go there we walk around to find truck open, tools stolen, completely wet from rain, and oh yeah no keys. I call the manager he says his driver sid the mechanic told him to leave truck keys in truck and leave, complete to lie. The mechanic always taped keys to forms, so the manager basically now thinks he has 0 responsibilities for his driver who he never transferred the truck over to the mechanic. Thanks to company, I have a wet truck, I'm out expensive tools, and no truck keys. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! This is my 3rd experience with this place and each time I walked away feeling cheated. The first instance was a truck I needed fixed which I was charged over $900 after several call backs to me from the shop saying something additional was wrong. After speaking to another mechanic I was advised I could have saved myself about $500. The next time was when I needed a jump. AAA sent this place out....he jumped my battery, told me mine was dead, I needed a new one and could buy one from him for $175. This was not the case the battery was not dead. Last instance had car towed here on a Sunday at noon. By Monday morning at 8am storage fees totaled $100 for both "days'. It hadn't been on their lot for 24 hours yet. These people pick pockets. My family has been with AAA for over 10 years, never have I ever experienced such poor service. They were dispatched to tow my car, that broke down a mile down the street, to my mechanic and told me they could not do that. They then said they could service my car, but I would be charged a fee. When I told them I was calling through AAA and didn't understand why I would be charged a fee I was told to fix my attitude or else they were going to hang up. AAA then dispatched them again and they declined without telling me or AAA and had me waiting in the rain for 3 hours. This is my second bad experience with these folks, and as they are the only service providers in my area through AAA, I will contacting AAA to reach out and contract with another company, seeing as this is clearly an ongoing issue if you look through other reviews. read more

Justin S. is THE WORST, MOST FOUL tow tech I've ever encountered. As a result I'm the world record holder for the longest wait for a tow. It will be at least 7 HOURS before my car is towed tonight. This afternoon after Justin's rude behavior sparked a verbal exchange, Justin left without towing. Another tow person would have to replace him. Enter Mobile Repairs' Heather who had a chance to redeem the situation on behalf of Mobile Repairs. Instead, she fanned the flames. Heather told Triple A's dispatch that she'd send someone in Justin's place but, as I suspected, she set it up so I wouldn't get help until as late as possible. It's now past 7PM and I just received a text that the next tow won't arrive until 9PM. You win Heather! You win Justin! Congratulations. You got me good. Been waiting since 2PM. That's right -- 7 HOURS -- to get a tow, IF they arrive at 9PM at all. Justin's rude demeanor this afternoon was evident from the start. He wouldn't say a word when he pulled up. No eye contact. Body language was tuned out. Clearly not interested in interacting at all with anyone when he arrived. When I asked for his recommendation about leaving it in neutral he said "whatever you want" - twice - each time I tried to get an answer. His demeanor and tone were 100% patronizing. His "whatever you want" was so soaked in attitude that you could drink it. Here was a man who was thoroughly dissociative - he clearly didn't want to be there. Tension escalated between us. We took it up with a police officer parked around the corner. I was surprised that Justin used the F word twice! I used it once! I asked who to take this up with and the officer said, "Triple A." So I took notes and reported this to Triple A. I see from other posts that I'm not the only one treated rudely by Mobile Repairs. read more

I broke down three states and 8 hrs away from home. I got towed to this service center by AAA. They were slammed and weren't able to get me in until Monday. But after listening, and letting me know that he didn't want me to be stranded in a strange area; the front desk mechanic decided that he thought he might know what was wrong based on just the information I gave, and offered to go ahead and check diagnostics for that to see if it was the issue and fix it that day if it was, even though they didn't have time to do a full once over on everything. That fixed it and I was back on the road 3 or 4 hours later. I made it home even though he warned me I needed to replace a few things that were just worn out from it being an older and used car, but now I can take it to the service center by my house in an area I know. I can't thank them enough for going above and beyond the daily work load to take such good care of a stranger they didn't even know who was just stuck in a tough situation. read more

This is most likely the worst service shop in the Greater Richmond Area. The people who run this place are liars and thieves. No idea why AAA would use this awful place. People in the office said I was allowed to keep my car their without charge and could tow it to their shop without charge and could leave it there for as long as we wanted until we made a decision with what we are doing with the car or tow it to my shop without charge for 10 miles, but any more it would be a charge by the mileage. So logically, avoiding what would somehow follow, we decided to go with the towing it to their shop free of charge. After a few months, The service center put a lien on the car for some magical cost of money we owe them. AAA chose this company for me twice, once in 2016 and once in 2017, and I advise any AAA customer to demand another company. That is noted on my file going forward and I will also be reminding any AAA employee not to send a tow truck from this company. The driver on the first tow tried to overcharge me on mileage because I only have 5 free miles and my mechanic was 6.4 miles away from my house, and I had to threaten to have him unhook the car en route to get away from his price-gouging if he didn't go the speediest route. But the 2nd experience costs me $85 because the driver on that tow flooded my engine trying to get a car to start that wouldn't start (that's why I needed a tow!). The holes that the spark plugs sit in as well as my motor oil were flooded with gasoline at my mechanic's shop, and this put my mechanic and his employees in danger because a stray spark could have set his entire garage on fire. In addition to paying for a new distributor, which was why the car wouldn't start in the first place, I also had to pay $85 for an oil change and for the removal, cleaning, and replacement of spark plugs multiple times. I filed a complaint with AAA about this company, and it told AAA that the engine had already been flooded when the tow truck driver arrived, which wasn't true because I had only attempted to crank it two or three times before calling AAA. AAA offered to give me $35 as a "goodwill gesture" but that they weren't getting involved any more. I urge every AAA customer who's had or has in the future a bad experience with Mobile Repair to tell AAA; if enough people complain about the same place, hopefully AAA will remove them from their metro Richmond database. read more

AAA tow truck was the owner of the shop who met me for a tire change. There was a problem with the tow truck and it took him 45 minuets to be able to attach my car to the tow. He was very rude and unprofessional. All I needed was a tire replacement. The tow truck driver said we can pick up the car the next morning (Wednesday morning was the promised day of pick up). We called them in the morning the next day and were told that they wanted to replace all three tires rather than one, I refused and went to meet them for one tire replacement. When I got there Wednesday morning, I was told that the tire employees left and won't be back til next Monday, six days after the day the truck was towed! Although there were many mechanics at the shop that could help, they refused to change the tire! I had to drive the car on a flat tire for a trusted car shop to get my tires replaced. This business is not reliable and are waiting to take advantage of their customers. I am disappointed AAA would recommend this and question their reliability. read more

The police called this company last night to tow my father's car to a nearby shop that is owned by a family member of mine. (Approximately 3 miles) I inquired about the cost. The driver said he wasn't sure of the rate."let's just get it on the truck" he said. He also was trying to get him to tow it to their body shop. I told him that this other shop was a family member's shop and it was closer. He said "well this is a family shop too" (I was thinking wrong family) anyway he avoided the cost question by saying that they would not need payment now if we went to the other shop. After sitting on th side of the road for a few hours I was anxiousness to get home to my cold dinner. To make a short story long it cost $175 to tow a car 3 miles! That may be the going rate but I felt it was extreme. I also felt like he could have told me that! He knew his rate! I would hate to see that family's body shop rates!
