I had this one owner business out to my house this winter. First time he was great. On time, fixed problem and did an overview of other work and possible damages on my RV... However, the 2nd and 3rd time he was 2 hours late, always blaming having to take care of a child, traffic, weather, another job or what not. I mean over 2 hours or more. He really only wants to work only on big money projects. Not little things. He also wanted to work in the dark on my RV in the cold. I did not think that was a good idea, so after a couple more long waits and re-scheduled appts. I never heard from him again. Tor was a blessing! My trailer was in the care of renters in at Sugar Pine Pt. (130 miles from me). They called complaining of a propane leak much to my dismay. After countless calls to establishments in the area, Tor's vmail message set my expectations for communicating with him. The first thing he said after my explanation was "turn off the gas." The only person that considers safety over money. He clearly outlined availability, potential cause, and expected effort. He connected with my renter and even advised us when his ETA was impacted by traffic, while on the way (over an hour drive). His professionalism aided in my ability to provide golden service to my customer and probably saved their vacation. Although I was not present I was made aware of everything along the way through text messages after the initial phone call. As a courtesy he even pointed out an additional repair that would probably be necessary in the near future and suggested it was something I could do myself. I'm eternally grateful. Never on time, misdiagnoses issues, constantly leaving (full of excuses). Talked with a few different mechanics that have had to redo his work. Had another mobile service come to evaluate issues and they tore out his work explained the problems found the correct original issue. They had it fixed in one trip, in 4 hours. Problems fixed and can make some cool memories thanks to Lonnie's. Just a note I am not someone who leaves a review everywhere I go, I feel like people should know how this business works. Tons of excuses and doesn't return phone calls or finish what he starts. I had to buy parts and finish a job I paid $440 to fix a water heater. I still had to buy a Thermostat and install it after paying him to repair a water heater. I paid for to repair the water heater so that when I showed up from my vacation I would have a water heater operable. And instead I had to work on the water heater drive into town buy a thermostat and install it on my vacation. read more

Met wit Tor in June 2022 for an estimate on an awning fabric replacement. He measured and gave us information to order the fabric from a company he uses and said when it arrived to contact him and we could get the repaid scheduled. After many texts and promises to get it scheduled, it is now September and nothing has been done. No communication and now I need to find someone else to do the job. I would not recommend this company. I don't normally post reviews but this put many of our summer camping plans on hold and I am disappointed that a local company that's customers that way. read more

We made appointment with the owner to come out because the fridge in our trailer was not working. My daughter had her home burned to the ground in the Walker fire. The owner made an appointment for 10:00 AM at 1:00 he finally made it. Looked at unit and said the cooling unit needed to be replaced. Told us where we could order (actually sent me the link). Ordered part and was told by owner that the job was a 2-3 hr job. Received the new unit and called the owner to let him know. After a week we had an appointment. In the meantime I had done research and realized this was a 3-5 hrs. Job. On the day of appointment the owner was once again 4 hrs. late this time he said he was busy taking care of his young child. That night he didn't leave until after 1am already he was way over time and my daughter was forced to get a motel. We weren't charged for all these hours and the owner never understood that the rv is my daughter's home after a devastating loss. I say didn't realize because the next time he came out he was there until 10:00 . The refrigerator was all over the inside of the trailer for the next few days. I finally went over and put the parts in the tub so it was more inhabitable. When owner finally came back and put it together it needed a thermistor. 5 days later he received the part and came out to install fridge still not getting cold and now he hasn't returned and will not return calls. It has been over a month and fridge is not usable. He has put in close to 20 hours , I'm not saying he doesn't try but just can't seem to get the job completed with a good outcome. I didn't read the reviews before hiring him and usually do. I was just glad we found someone to work on it. Had I read them I never would have hired him. If you compare reviews you will see the pattern. I will post a follow-up in a few weeks. read more

We have been trying to get this guy to come out and fix the things that we need done since June 23. The three times that I had appointments with him were a complete disappointment. The first time he was supposed to come out at a specified time about 10am I believe, and was hours late he finally showed up about 6:00 PM after making an excuse and wound up staying so late that I left my husband to handle it and went to bed. He was supposed to give us an estimate which we never got other than verbal. My husband needs to go to bed normally by 8:30 as he's with the fire service and gets called in about three in the morning. The second time he came out he asked us if we could be available on a Sunday morning at 9:30. Shelving all our other plans for the day (the only day my husband I ever have off together) we sat and waited from 930 until 5 PM again when he finally showed up. All sorts of excuses, only has time to fix one of the items. Since he was again so late, he asked if I could be available at 9:30 in the morning the next day. I am a business owner and Mondays are my one day to catch up during the week as my business is closed. So, against my better judgment I said I will be home. At about 3:45pm I had enough and texted him and told him not to bother, my time is important. Unfortunately this seems to be a pattern with this man, he may be very good at repairs etc. but he's horrible at communication and doesn't respect anyone else's time. He texted back and gave us some story about his ex being on drugs and him having to take care of the kids but I'm sorry he has a phone, he could have contacted us at numerous times during the day to say something, anything. He did not bill us for the work he had already completed and said it was on him because he felt bad. I have never seen this many excuses for being absolutely hours late. As far as we know the repair is good. We shall see. read more

I was so excited when I first found Mobile-RV-PhD, but I will have look elsewhere next time I need repairs on my RV. While Tor seems like a nice guy and he was able to identify what was wrong with my heater and outlets, he unfortunately never got back with me regarding the part numbers required to fix the heater, a promised. While I understand that it may take some time to find the information given the age of my furnace, I never received a follow up. Instead, I have had to contact him several times asking him to send the part numbers needed to repair the heater and was told that he would get them to me by the end of the day and failed to follow through. He is no longer responding to my emails or text messages and it feels like he is avoiding me. After being charged an hourly rate, that was nearly $300 total, for him to only diagnose the problem and fail to provide a solution, all I have to show for his work is a broken heater. read more
