PS: Geoff will also sell you a chair for a whole lot less than a price I got from another medical supply company ... I heartedly recommend VMS to anyone looking for medical supply needs ...

The stroke fully disabled him and I didn't want him to finish life in a nursing facility so retired early to take care of him. Alex, the owner of One Source Mobility, talked to the OT and the PT at the rehab where Dad spent 18 and a half days after a few days in the hospital. Alex had a ramp installed and a bar by the shower so Dad could continue his therapies at home and didn't try to sell us anything in addition, ever. He was very accurate with assessments when I thought we needed more, explaining that with the progress Dad was making he would recover faster working with his therapists to overcome the temporary obstacles. He checked in very often to make sure things were going well, not just on the phone but FaceTime, even, with the therapists in the home. By the end of the 7th month Dad made a full recovery, the Dr. said it was a miracle. Alex is a licensed contractor and he is also an Assistive Technology Professional, a Master of Certified Environmental Access Consultant, a Certified Aging in Place professional, has an Executive Certificate in Home Modifications from the USC School of Gerontology and is a Certified Living in Place Professional. He listens, takes his time and is very reassuring. He was so calm and explained things so well it was easy to trust his judgement.

The guys at One Source Mobility are life savers! My elderly father fell and broke his leg,…read moreconfining him to a wheelchair for 90 days and then a walker TBD. My fathers house sits up on a 20" high foundation and had no accessible entrances. In order for my father to come home from the hospital, I had to get wheel chair ramps installed ASAP. After calling a number of ADA contractors who shied away from residential work, I got in touch with Alex at One Source. Alex took the time to talk to me about my father and his needs. Addressing my father's accessibility issues so he could come home from the hospital was his #1 goal...NOT selling me equipment. He recommended temporary equipment until after my father's initial recovery and his condition stabilized. He could have very easily tried to sell me a bunch of equipment at this point, but purposely did not. It was more important to him that my father's needs were addressed in the most cost effective way and in the timeframe that allowed him to come home, than it was selling us more equipment. Alex gave us the most economical option that met our needs in the short term, and then came back once my father's condition stabilized and provided a great long term ramp solution, again with both longevity and economy in mind. Alex has also followed up with calls to find out how my father is doing and making sure everything is working for him. I can't thank the guys at One Source enough! I highly recommend them!

Owners are slumlords in Yuba City. Take ZERO responsibility for houses with mold, roaches, RATS…read more I really loved the vanity piece in the Chico paper about how dedicated Janet Balbutin is to 'wellness & health.' Wow - what a colossal joke! She can't even stop by the slum she's renting out and see the sick children that had to live there for years because the family had little money to move. I *did.* I saw the coughing and sickness. I saw the bubbles in the bedroom ceiling when the roof leaked and wasn't patched for months. I saw the black mold, the roaches, the RATS. We went over with cleaning vinegar and vitamin C and told them to "get out when you can." I see the "yard" that is completely infested with spider mites and weeds. I see the plaster patches and paint being slapped over the literal cracks in the exterior of the home. I still see black mold on the outside north face of the home and protruding from the attic vents. I see the rot of all the wood around doors and windows. I've had to hire pest control to stop the roaches from coming over to our property and remediation for the mites multiple times. I saw 3 cars being moved to the street so that the Balbutins could avoid paying for towing themselves. They did the same with shopping carts full of trash - left them at the sidewalk so that the city and the police would have to take care of it instead. In short, I have no idea how the Balbutins have such a stellar reputation in Chico. Here, in Yuba City, their name is scorned and uttered in sentences like, "When is the city going to take that house from Balbutin and tear it down??" "How could a family with all that money make Yuba City deal with their trash?" In fact, a printout of the vanity piece from the Chico paper was given to me by a neighbor with the comment, "Can you believe this? Obviously, they don't care about people at all!" as she nodded toward the slum next door. So, if you don't mind taking medication from people who can't take the time to visit - let alone care for - a property they own in YEARS, go ahead. But I certainly wouldn't risk it!
