I was getting transmission malfunction and power steering error notifications but he did a preliminary inspection and knew those codes were actually a problem with the battery. He replaced my battery cable and battery and did all the computer work. One month later, no problems at all. Vic has great communication and is super friendly. I went to Mobotech (MT) several years ago because of a leaking power steering fluid problem. I knew oil was leaking slowly also but not like the steering fluid. MT found the leaking problems and also replaced my timing belt and water pump which were still good, I have no qualms about it because I know they would need replacement eventually. This is what gets me: I had to go back the next day or near next day because power steering fluid was leaking heavily. Even more than before. MT discovered that the leak was because of a clamp. A pinch clamp. The clamp that was on before I went there and was on after l went there. MT said they put a new screw clamp to "stopped" the leaking. And it did. I think. Years later--about 3-4 years, I fill the power steering fluid with about a cup of fluid because it's low. A month or after that, yesterday actually. Because of problems with my suspension I jack up the car, remove the tires and see the rubbers seals on the right side of my car's suspension are torned, and caked in dried up and wet power steering fluid, coming from the area of THE clamps. Plural. I'm not sure if it is because the screw clamp is too loose or the Pinch Clamp. Yes pinch clamp MT was too lazy or hasty to take off the old pinch clamp which has deeply embedded itself into the hose. The part of the hose that is hallow with no valve under it. I don't know if the leak is coming from the old embedded clamp or new clamp. Either way is not good. I also do not know if the fluid was always slowly leaking or only recently started leaking. But leaving the old clamp on after putting on a new one AND using it in the first place is draining my pocketbook years later. read more

Late review. In 2020 My Audi tailgate was broken and wouldn't open properly. Took it to the dealer, and they were quoting $4000 to replace the entire lift gate and motors. Then took it to Mobotech and Victor found out that a mounting bracket was broken. He was up front that he wasn't sure fixing it would solve the problem, but we tried and ended up fixing the car for 20x less. Trust in my mechanic is the most important thing to me, and more than anything, I trust Victor to do what's right for me and my car, without ripping me off. read more

Hey everyone, this is Andy. I brought in my 2017 Prius C to Vic. I heard a howling sound and Vic did a thorough test drive, text me what was wrong and tested the other side and told me it was my hub bearing. He sent me the invoice via text. Got a really great price and also for a synthetic oil change. He even test drove it after to make sure all was good and no other problems to be aware. First of all - don't fret about the location in Kalihi even though it's in a moderately sketchy neighborhood. I walk back and forth to drop off and pick up my car - feel very safe. And the puddle/pond that forms in the street near the shop looks bad but isn't. No sharks or hidden caverns. Victor is fabulous. I've had him do much work on a number of my cars. He gives you options and explains the pros and cons well. On several occasions he has evaluated my car trouble and told me to wait - no reason to deal with it at this early stage with many miles left on the part. That kind of honesty and approach I greatly appreciate. He's honest, fair, communicative, prompt, did what he said he would. I'd recommend him absolutely. This place is legit.......Vic is legit.....all of the positive YELP reviews are totally consistent with the service and ALOHA I experienced from Vic. My 2012 Corolla started to go whacky.......car shaking, engine sputtering,....thought something was going to blow up or I was going to stall.....mind you on the way to Home Depot on a Sunday. Got my stuff I needed from Home Depot and prayed I would make it home which I did. I have that Tmobile safe drive device that is like an engine ODBC device which verified something was wrong with my car and spitted out ODBC codes noting what it was.....cylinder 4 misfiring...... Was going through YELP for places to go to.....hoping they would be #1 open on Labor Day and #2 able to fix my car within a day. Servco was closed and earliest appointment online was Friday. I always go there knowing I'm going to get ripped off and played by the servce sales people.....but I did not have a go to place for repairs...until now. After going down the YELP list on Labor Day morning and not having anyone pick up because they were closed.....I called Mobotech. Vic picks up and he's so welcoming, down to earth, and tells me bring it in, should not be a problem.....I tell hime my ODBC codes and he's totally familiar with them. Brought the car in and left it for him to check out, quote me, see if he could get parts, etc.. Runs a full on check and videos an explanation of what's wrong while showing me on a video text noting my odbc code was correct but other cylinders were also misfiring. Seriously who takes the time to do that.....explain to me in layman's terms while providing a video of my sputtering engine? Told him to proceed and I got my car back by 4pm.....on Labor Day. Car running smooth......got rid of the zillion engine and other indicator lights that went on......and thanked me for my business and trust....... These guys are legit and a one in a million business. They gave me quote and I was able to double check the price for the parts online and they were not ridiculously marked up at all.....noted only one hour of labor which was discounted 10% with a YELP coupon. I know if I took it into Servco it was $150 right off the top to run the ODBC engine check which Vic did for free and videotaped and explained everything.....Servco would never do tha and in the end, Servco would have charged me 2-3x as much guaranteed. This is my go to place for auto repairs. Used to go to B&A on Liliha but they closed. Chiks is good but not sure if they do major repairs. Chiks and the French Wrench Shell on Ward are my go to for Safety Checks. Seriously too, French Wrench was super busy on a Saturday with auto repairs and I ask for a Safety Check and they get me out of there in 15 minutes.....freaking awesome.... read more

Vic the owner of Mobotech did a wonderful job repairing my daughter's Camry. The rear brakes were down to metal on one side and almost down to metal on the other. Vic did a total maintenance repair on brakes, replace all 4 tpm sensors. Valve cover gaskets, oil change, engine air filter replacement and a bunch of other things. Total repair time two days! Originally went to Victar for a timing belt job on my 1997 Toyota tacoma, but ended up replacing my shocks and a few other things as well. Victar pointed out that if he owned the truck, he'd definitely replace the shocks and I took his word for it. Sent many videos and updates throughout the whole repair process. Called to check the price for a coolant flush and to change the drive belt and Victor gave an estimate. He was such a nice person over the phone and in person. Very informative and knowledgable of cars. You can tell he loves what he does, and does what he loves. He used the same type of coolant that Mazda uses so they don't need to make a fuss. He also gave us a stronger better drive belt than what our car came with. When we got there at 8:30 and when it was time to pick up the car at 11:00, all the employees were actually working on cars. Because at other places, you can see the employees standing around talking stories and take a whole day just for an oil change (I won't mention any names...Cutter Mazda). Before I found Mobotech, I used a number of autoshops, including some well-known names, and they do not even come close to Mobotech for quality repairs at a reasonable price. One time, I thought I had to get a brand name part for a repair, but the owner convinced me that a generic part that costs much less would be a great solution---and it absolutely was. Another time I had a really minor repair and was able to get the repair as a walk-in. This is an update on the service Victor and his business gives. I've taken 3 cars to have Victor look and assess what's needed in order to be fixed. I have also referred relatives and friends when they are having car issues to go and see Victor. The most recent was last week to have my Nissan Murano transmission oil change and rear brake pads changed. My first review was a 5 star (because higher rating can't be given). To state it honestly, people like Victor gives me a renewed sense in the true goodness of how a person can be. He is the most pleasant person to be around much less a car mechanic ! For me, Victor removes all anxiety I could have of bringing a car to someone to not only have the obvious to be fixed but to have him check if other issues might be happening. I have no worries that he's going to find an "issue" that's really not there. He video's the issue that needs the immediate attention and explains what the problem is, and also if there is something else that needs attention that you were unaware of. He'll video that and explain what's wrong and if it needs immediate attention or gives you a timetable when it may need to be fixed. His prices are fair and reasonable and for the most part I would say on the lower end of the spectrum. But really, is there anything price could cover when it comes to the honesty of someone who is giving you a service with something you have minimal knowledge of ? How do you put a price on that confidence and trust to know that you're not being deceived into purchasing something that is not needed just so a higher profit can be made ? For me, Victor removes all of that doubt and I could never put a price on that trust I have in him to put his customer's interest first ! Although they are located in Kalihi in the back of some sketchy warehouses and houses, their facility as actually really secure, comfortable and also clean! I had to get my shift cable and also my clutch fixed on my 2005 Mazda.... Victar, the owner gave me a quote and an estimated time the job will be complete. A few days went by and of course he texted me and updated on the progress. They ran a little behind because one of their workers got injured, however, Victar kept me updated. I was referred to Vic from another R55 owner. Raved about how great a job was done on his car. I had called Vic and had no response, however, immediately got a text message with instructions on getting through to him (best way if you ask me) I had made an appointment to drop off the car, mind you it was 3 weeks out since it was not an immediate need. Soon the time came and I was able to drop off the car after work and finally met Vic. Very personable and quite frankly very friendly. No gimmicks and will give you answers to the best of his abilities. Now this is what works, tell him what is going on and you'll get an inside of what is going on with your car(video). He will make all the recommendations. Either ala carte it or go for the gusto. Pricing was very fair, much less. Now if I would have taken my car to an authorized dealer, I would probably need to get a loan for just the repairs, but hey, choices we make for German/British automobiles. The shop is open until 5pm Monday to Friday, you can drop off after 5pm to 9pm. Vic and his team are great, Im glad I was able to work with him.
