Setting up an appointment was easy through text message! Vic responded real quick to our text even if it was after his work hours. We bought our 2 tires, front and rear brake pads, and sensor online and asked him if we could bring them in so he could attach and balance our wheels onto our vehicle and he gave us an appointment time and quote we preferred! My Yelp profile actually says, "Yelp never steers me wrong" and today's experience made that ever so true. As I was out running errands, my normally trusty little Scion xB started making a weird whirring noise. I was worried but in denial, story of my life. By the time I reached home, my power steering seemed to go out. Realizing I wasn't going to be able to ignore this, I turned to Yelp and found Mobotech. I was impressed by the many 5 star reviews and other Yelpers' comments regarding the professionalism and integrity they encountered here. I called and described my problem and Victar said I could bring my car in that evening. He even told me what it probably was and then followed up a few minutes later with a correction. I appreciated the follow-up and the thoroughness. Sure enough, once I got there, he was able to confirm what it was (the alternator), explain what causes it and how it causes the problems I was encountering. He was able to fix it the same day and for a super fair price. Nobody likes to have unexpected car repairs but Mobotech made the entire experience much easier to bear. This place is a life saver. Called Thursday night at like 7:30 pm after my car broke down by Hanauma Bay. He was willing to wait till 9:00 pm to relieve my car from the tow company. Told him what was wrong, quote me about $200 over the phone and that was it. Woke up Friday and shot the owner a text and he was already doing the final test drive and was ready to be picked up. This place delivered at a moments notice and didn't jack up the price. Had my Jetta CV boots and half axle shafts replaced today. Found out at a recent annual safety check that the boots were torn and could potentially leak onto the front brakes. Vic was able to do this according to my work schedule and was willing to stay late into the night even after shop hours or on the weekend when they are normally closed. He suggested to come in at 4pm and it would take a few hours. This gave me a chance to grab dinner at a local family owned place on N Beretania in the neighborhood. By the time I was finished eating in about two hours, so was the repair. That is amazing. I was prepared to hangout until 7-8pm in Mobotech's patio. The cost was reasonable, the workmanship efficient, and customer service very professional. I even got a discount on labor for the Yelp checkin. My car was out of commission, I had a mobile mechanic take my money and drag it out for almost one week, all the while costing me Lyft fees to get to and from work, to come to the conclusion he wasnt going to do the work. Awesome place! Victar, is by far the best! Took my BMW to another place and what a mistake that was. I took it in for a oil leak and they wound up over charging me for the most shotty work I have ever received from a garage. I called Mobotech and Vic told me to bring the car in when the shop was expected to be closed. Needless to say Mobotech fixed my problem within a couple of days. As far as, I can tell, this is not the case at Mobotech. My example: I had a misfire happening on my 2004 Ford Ranger 2.3l 4Cyl. Another shop quoted me $650 (400 labor, 250 Parts) to replace Ignition Coil, Spark Plugs & Plug wires. ... Long-story short; I bought all the parts for under $100; had some issues during the install; took the truck to Mobotech; they fixed the issues I created AND finished spark plug change for $150... There are several things you need to know about this place. Be sure you gps this place before you head out there. You will never NEVER find it if you didn't know about it by referral (or a Yelp review). Once you find them, you'll be pleased with the shop, inside and so unassuming.... You'd never guess an auto mechanical shop resided there. My first visit was by far a surprising and successful visit. I was always of the impression that European cars needed to go to specialty repair shop, (not saying that Mobo is generic) but the diagnostic equipment for European cars is an investment in itself. However I learned that I'm very ignorant and my ignorance found me a great auto mechanical repair shop. Their rate for service is by far the most reasonable I've seen ( those with BMWs know the car can spend an exuberant amount of time in the repairshop) you don't have to worry about an oversell on any type of service you don't need. You don't have to Worry about an undersell either as they diagnose your car regardless. They tell you what you can expect , and what not to expect. This past repair was my second visit. I got lost trying to find the shop, it's 6:30 pm and I am fussy. My car is overheating! Not a good day! But cheery Victar (owner) drives over to rescue me! Price, service, attitude! 5 stars! Day later I head out pick up my car... And there's my baby all shines and clean!!!! My car should get sick more often.... She will get a bath over there....like going to a spa...get it? Called Victar due to an emergency with the vehicle. It was last minute and I was not prepared. He said ya come on down and I'm here to 10:30 pm so just come and I'll take a look at it. He was personable, cracked jokes, and instantly my integrity for him was 100%. Trust all the way. Brought the truck down and he said can do! I'm ordering parts tomorrow and it'll be here by Friday so come down. In the meantime he made a quick fix so i would feel comfortable in driving my truck around in the meantime. Picked up my car two weeks ago. I drive a 2010 Mazda 3 and was having issues with my car 'kicking' while I was driving. Then my check engine and AT light came on. I tried diagnosing my car with a scanner and the code read U101 which usually points to the Transmission Control Module. The TCM is quite expensive not to mention the labor charge so I wanted to diagnose it at a shop so I knew for certain. I called the MAZDA dealer and they wanted to charge 120 to diagnose it. They also had he part in stock for $900 and the labor charge for that I'm sure would have been more ham $300. I said no thanks and found this place on Yelp. I decided to stop by after work and met the owner Victar. They were very busy but he still stopped and listened to my issue. He ended up scanning it and cleared the error and told me to drive it and come back if it has any more issues and didn't charge me a dime. My car worked for a couple days but started kicking again. I brought my car back in and Victar went ahead and scanned it and diagnosed it free of charge, and it took him less than 10 minutes; remember that Mazda wanted $120 for it.. So I ended up buying the part on the mainland for $400 cheaper, brought my car back in and got it changed and programmed for $270. It's been two weeks and my car is still going great. Victor is really a great and honest guy! My car couldn't start this morning so knew it was either my battery, starter, or alternator. Found Mobotech on Yelp so I headed over there to see whats the problem. Shop is kinda busy so I suggest walking in rather than calling. Victor walked over and tested my battery. Instead of charging me, he simply told me "Go to Costco, they have really good priced batteries and come back and I'll install it for you." So I bought a new battery and came back and he installed it for me. Mind that I didn't pay for no labor, no diagnostic tests, and no wait! I gave the car a baseline service, and because it had been shipped half-way across the planet, a full inspection for the sake of due diligence. I needed to get my power steering pump replaced, so I decided to go to Mobotech. It was fixed pretty quickly and I picked it up in working condition. Soon after I left, I noticed that the pump had become very loud. IT WAS NOT MOBOTECHS FAULT. It was a faulty part, and it worked fine when I left, so there was no way they could have known. For a long time my truck has had a problem with dying right after you turn it on. (Fuel pump was old and degraded) It was a problem I decided to ignore since I was always able to start it up. Over time it had gotten to the point that it flipped my check engine light. So I took it back to get the power steering pump, and the fuel pump replaced. Throughout this process I got a video of the pressure gage on the gas pump, pictures, and regular updates through text message. I came to pick it up and was surprised to find out that they had washed my truck. The rims looked AMAZING. Very impressed, will be back for all my auto repair needs! read more
