We went here on 8/21 around 9pm. I was encouraged by the yelp reviews about their sweets. It's a nice space. We weren't greeted and waited quite a while behind a large group. I ordered the pistachio croissant and the bread (the one with 6 tiny rolls). They heated the food (didn't ask for that, just asked for it "to go") and we left. 2 pastries cost 15$. Both of the items were inedible. The pistachio croissant tasted like it had been drying out since the day before and the bread turned into chewy pucks. It took us 15minutes to get to our next destination. So that's how long before I tried both items. I tried to heat them up at home, even attempting to steam them a bit, just gross at that point. If the shop is going sell their pastries past their prime at least sell them half price. We were out 15$ and wished we had chosen a different after dinner spot in St. Charles. I highly recommend trying the Lotus and Baklava Cheesecake. The ambiance is impeccable, and the team, Sarem and his team are exceptionally attentive, engaging and accomodating. We love this place so much that we had them cater desserts for our wedding and our guests went CRAZY! Everyone loved it so much and working with the team was so seamless and stress-free. This coffee house, inspired by Yemeni heritage, offers an unparalleled experience. Upon arrival, the barista, who also happens to be the owner, welcomed us warmly and offered samples of their Adeni Chai tea. It was delicious! I was looking for something a little more caffeinated, so I opted for an iced Yemeni Latte (espresso, Yemeni spices, and milk). The flavor was extraordinary, with the spices adding a unique and delightful twist. The baked goods were impossible to resist after seeing their fresh display. I tried the honeycomb bread--soft, fluffy fried dough filled with light cheese and glazed with honey and sesame seeds. It was like a bed of savory, delicious donut holes. My mom chose the almond butter croissant, dusted with pistachio, which was light, airy, buttery, and perfectly sweet. While we enjoyed our coffee and food, the barista generously shared samples of their creamy lemon cheesecake with the patrons. After one bite, we decided to take home a slice of peanut butter chocolate cheesecake. The atmosphere is lovely and inviting, with great coffee house vibes and music. There is also outdoor street seating available. I love that this place stays open late--10 pm on weekdays and 12 am on weekends. I love this place and coffee. Takes me back home for sure. The only difference between that is a coffee shop in America consists of laptop table hoggers. I have never been able to sit here because people are working or study there all the time. My only con. Pastries and coffee/tea are amazing though. We are staying a block away at an air bnb. Above another coffee/cafe that doesn't open until noon so wondered down the block to the tables that were outside and stumbled upon this cute coffee shop. I can't get enough of the polished & sophisticated look of this place with decorations and natural lighting. The Yemeni music really helps transport you. They do have food options, but so far are only with sweets. If you have a sweet tooth, are adventurous, & have a passion for exploring elements of other cultures this place is perfect. The chalkboard at the front door drew me in. It is very pretty and welcoming inside. The menu sign said Yemeni coffee and teas. The smell of the coffee and its exotic spicy undertones wafted through the cafe and I was anxious to try some things. We were greeted with samples of one of their brews. I'm not a huge fancy coffee drinker so the spicy factor was not my favorite but I could tell it was well brewed so I'm sure coffee conisours would love! I ended up ordering the pistachio croissant which was outstanding! I've never had one like this before and I am so glad I chose it. I also ordered the dragon fruit refresher which was a little too sweet for me. My dad and husband had almond croissants and agreed they were as good as my pistachio one. Perfectly flaky with a lot of delicious filling! I cannot wait to go back and try some of their other desserts and pastries. The moment we entered, we were greeted by the most delightful aroma: coffee with spices. The place was full of people! Indeed, we were highly encouraged to go here by my daughter, and the place appears to be getting quite popular. The young man behind the counter was very friendly, engaging, and hospitable and answered all our many questions about the Yemeni coffee and tea menu options, even providing a couple of samples. (All coffee beans used are sourced from Yemen, which I had never tried before.) I ended up getting a pour over, which was richly flavored, yet smooth. I found it delicious! Hubby got the Yemeni latte, which is a latte lightly spiced with cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves and sweetened with vanilla syrup. Good and unique. The baklava was very good (but very tiny) -- moist and very sweet with flaky crust and minced nuts -- though I might've preferred to have it slightly warmed. The ambience is that of a Middle Eastern (natch) cafe. It's not a super cozy cafe, consisting only of tables with somewhat uncomfortable chairs; there are no comfy lounge chairs, sofas, fireplaces, etc, which I look for in a homey coffee place, but that's just a personal preference. The bathrooms were incongruous with the vibe of the gently lit and muted tones of the main space (suddenly walking in to super bright lights and vibrant blue walls), but that's a mere quibble. The main thing is that there was absolutely no toilet paper, and the paper towel dispensed 3 inches of towel at a time. The room was kinda grimy, too, but not so bad that I felt yucky using it. Just a heads up, if you care about that sort of thing. (I do, because I look at places through "mom eyes.") Also in the bathroom (!), I saw a sign about their loyalty rewards program, which we were not told about or offered while ordering at the counter. It was my birthday, so I could've gotten a free drink and $5 off our first order for joining. Why wasn't this sign prominently displayed at the counter?! We would've signed up in a heartbeat! Bottom line: If you're looking for a unique coffee/tea/dessert experience in the heart of St. Charles, look no further! They also sell locally roasted Yemeni coffee beans. read more

First of all, you need to visit historic Main Street in St. Charles, period. Just go. Preferably when you have time to walk the entire street. So much history, fun shops, and delicious food. Whatever you do, do NOT miss the cozy coffee shop on the corner of Main and Adams with unique drink offerings and some of the best baklava you'll eat in your life. This place is fantastic. I went in last weekend around 11 and the staff immediately greeted me and gave me a quick lesson on their Yemeni coffee (I've never tried it before).
