My favorite place to get mochi donuts whenever I visit California! The texture is perfect: not overly chewy nor something you'd expect from a regular donut. Their flavors taste exactly as you'd expect but x10 so when I ordered the limited Samoa flavor I felt like I witnessed the entire organization of Girl Scouts materializing in their kitchen to personally hand-deliver this Samoa blessing. Mochill donuts is located in the Mitsuwa Marketplace food court at the Del Amo Mall. They have Hawaiian coffee and mochi donuts. If you haven't had mochi donuts, then you really should. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of places that have it; however, this is one of the better options for the sweet treat. I like to keep it simple with a glazed (sugar) mochi donut. The mochi donuts, made from rice flour, are known for their characteristic chewiness that they have. There isn't really anything like it. At $3-$4 per donut, it is a little pricey; however, I do find that they are worth it! Overall, I think the donuts are good and there aren't a lot of places that have good mochi donut options. (Unfortunately many of the best mochi donut shops have not been able to stay open for the long term). If you do buy the donuts, just make sure you eat it while it's relatively fresh, because they aren't good when they go stale. HAWAIIAN LATTE Came in for a quick coffee . I tried the Hawaiian latte. I asked for it not too sweet and they accommodated. It tastes like a coconut macaroon and there's a good balance of coffee flavor. I also couldn't help but notice they had mochi waffles. First time seeing them so I had to try a maple one. It was okay. I don't know why there was a matcha flavor to it but at least the texture was nice. It was kind of fishy. I wouldn't get it again, but if I'm ever in the area I'll stick with the coffee. read more

This is located in the Mitsuwa food court and highly recommend it for dessert! We got the matcha latte with Sakura foam and the Ube mochi donut, both were so delicious! I love the Ube! I wished I had more room in my stomach to try the creme brulee one, perhaps another visit! The Sakura foam on the matcha latter is very aestheticly pleasing. You can taste the floral foam as you sip into the drink. The matcha is not too overpowering. The service was quick and they pretty much hand you the order right away. I got the Iced Honey Black Sesame Matcha Latte, while my sister got the Iced Matcha Latte. The Iced Honey Black Sesame Matcha Latte was excellent!! I'm a regular customer at Mochill Donut inside Mitsuwa in Torrance and usually enjoy this place, which made this experience especially disappointing. While my sister and I were looking at the menu, one of the female employees quietly asked what we wanted to order. I was mid-conversation with my sister and could barely hear her since she was speaking very softly. She then walked away. When we were ready to order and let her know, her tone felt off. She again mumbled her question in a dismissive manner. I asked if she was having a bad day because of the tone she was using. She replied that she was very tired and said she had already asked me twice what I wanted. I told her I wouldn't allow her to speak to me that way, especially in front of my 15-year-old sister. She then walked away from the register and had another employee take my order. The other employee was polite and professional, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the first employee made my Hawaiian latte and slammed it on the counter. When I asked who the manager was, she responded with "who cares." That level of attitude and unprofessionalism was unacceptable. I love Mochill Donut and often come here specifically for the sakura matcha latte, but I won't let a miserable employee take her bad day out on me. Talk about a downgrade... I was a big fan of the freshly made mochi doughnuts at MoDo Hawaii, which was the dessert shop that was here before. They closed a couple years ago and then Mochill opened up in their place a couple months later. Wasn't a fan and didn't return for a while. Cold, stale, greasy, not as tasty as before. I went a second time since they have other menu items that looked interesting. The handheld crepes are made to order and come with a variety of fillings (ice cream, mochi, fruits). The wait wasn't too bad on a Sunday afternoon, my order took about 7 minutes. The Strawberry Choco crepe was bland, it's basically whipped cream wrapped up in an ultra thin pancake. I think more filling options would be nice, a sweet custard would have been better. Barely any chocolate syrup and the strawberry slices were sour. But I did like that they use sweet rice flour to make the actual crepe, which gives it a glutinous consistency like regular mochi. Look for their stall inside the Mitsuwa food court at Del Amo. I had a really disappointing experience here. I bought 20 mochi donuts and asked for napkins. I was only given 5, so I politely asked for more--and was told that was all they had. Being crepe lovers, we had to opt for the latter! I had the Banana Caramel Ice Cream crepe. It comes wrapped in a thick, yellow paper. Eventually my little fork couldn't cut the crepe anymore so I opened it to finish consuming it. Delicious, thick crepes. Super flavorful! I've had so many crepes from different places and I have to say this is the best I've had as far as crepes go. We come here because it's close to our home and we love going to Honolulu coffee in Hawaii. However the service here is lacking. The girls are rude and they make you stand there a while until they decide to take your order. I am surprised I never wrote a review at this place because this is one of my favorite mochi donut places in Torrance. They have seasonal themed donuts now! Check out their campaigns if you take good pictures or want some candy. See the picture of the sign for more details. Each piece is around $3 or more so it is not the cheapest things but the size is bigger than you think. Totally worth it. Loved the brioche bombs but I still tend to like ponde ring like chewy mochi donuts better. Super close to the bathroom. Parking is plenty in the same lot as the Mitsuwa Japanese supermarket. Also pretty good access to the courtyard of Del Amo through the outside walkway. Best to park in front of Mitsuwa but you could park near Macy's or PF cheng and walk as well. read more

Donuts were really good, but the staff was kind of standoffish and curt with me. I asked a question about crepes, and the employee cut me short and said "we're not doing those right now" so I asked (because I have never been there and genuinely didn't know) "oh, are they only available at certain times?" and they looked at the other employee, they both rolled their eyes, and then they turned to me and said "No we're just doing something right now so we won't be making you a crepe." This place replaced Modo (and another establishment that replaced Modo after its closing)-- and it's great! Mochill's donuts are delicious, fragrant, and chewy! Their mochi donuts are similar to that of Modo (which I love), as their mochi donuts have a higher percentage of mochiko compared to that of Mochinut (tastes more like Mister Donut in Japan, with a tapioca flour-type texture instead). Mochill has a pretty array of sweet treats, from their chocolate glaze (my favorite) to seasonal specials like a pumpkin chocolate donut. Definitely recommended for a texturally delightful and light sweet treat after your food court meal at Mitsuwa. Makes for a beautiful gift at parties too! read more

I am a sucker for mochi donuts but this time I wanted to try the mochi crepes. I got the Strawberry Banana Choco Whipped Cream Mochi Crepe and it was delicious! Our friends and family love these donuts. I came here today to buy some for a gathering. The chewy texture is so fun and they are beautiful too. The service was terrible. They open at 11. I got here early but I didn't stand at the register until 11. At that point, there was one worker. She didn't acknowledge me for about 5 minutes. At which point she said "I will open in 5 minutes ". I said ok and waited. After another 5 minutes, she came to the register. No smile. No eye contact. No apology for opening late. She shoved the box across the counter, not handing it to me, which caused the box to crinkle. Though I love these donuts, the worry that I might have to encounter her again will deter me from wanting to come back. Owners should consider additional customer service training. The good: This surpassed my expectations! Their display case reeled me in. Everything tasted just as good as it looked. They were fully stocked and the items looked fresh. They had a 3 for $15 brioche special so I did that but also got a mochi pastry. I enjoyed the brioche a bit more because it was lighter, airier, and fluffier. I got the s'mores, lemon meringue, and strawberry pastry. They were delicious without being overly sweet (despite its super sweet appearance). I'd definitely come back! I thought the price was very fair. The box was nice too and would make for a great gift or potluck item to bring into work. I didn't try the actual mochi donuts because they're not my favorite but I'd highly recommend those brioche desserts! We were browsing the Mitsuwa food court and when I saw crepes with mochi in their display case, I had to get one. I got the strawberry with mochi and ice cream crepe. The display one shows 4 mochi balls. I asked if they could make the crepe a bit crispy since there were no other customers but they said no. The crepe took about 8min. It was all ice cream and strawberries at the top of the crepe. Once I got through that and finally saw the crepe part, it was mostly whipped cream. I tried digging around for the mochi (reason I got this crepe) and couldn't find any. I went back to ask the employee and they said the mochi is in there. It wasn't until I finished 90% of the crepe did I finally see 2 mochi balls. They were very yummy. Just the right amount of chewiness and softness. But there were only 2! The display had 4! Besides the 2 mochi balls and strawberries, the rest of the crepe wasn't good. It had too much cream, the strawberry syrup was awful, the ice cream was blah, the crepe itself was thick. When I went they had Mochi donuts, Cronuts, French puffs and Mochisadas! Yes; Mochisadas! The Mochisadas are my favorite. They are Hawaiian Malasadas with filling plus mochi! I got the Fruity Pebble Mochisadas and the Nutella Mochisadas and they were so ono! Mochisadas are $4.80 each. I also got a PB&J Mochi Donut ($3.60) and Matcha French Puff ($3.60). They were also both very good. Soft, fluffy and oh so yummy! I'll definitely be back soon. Aside from mochi donuts; this location offers Honolulu Coffee. Located inside the Mitsuwa Market, Mochill caught our eye. Offering tempting pastries inside a glass case, filled with mochi donuts, cronuts, brioche and puffs, we couldn't resist. I had to go out of my way to ask if they were open, said to "give me one second." At that point I had been standing there way too long to even think the food would be worth the wait.
