I purchased a "surprise bag" from this shop on an app called, "Too Good to go". The pick up window ended at 7pm. I placed the order at about 6:48pm as I live nearby. I arrived at the store at 6:55 pm. The doors were locked. The two workers were cleaning and packing up donuts. The man yelled that they were closed. I yelled back that I was using the app. After a minute or so and, after consulting with the female worker, the door was opened. The female worker was agitated and asked to see the app. She then complained about having to package up the order. She went to the back to box up the donuts. I got hl.e and received about a dozen donuts the seem to be a couple to a few days old. They had a lot of donuts left and will likely resell the same donuts as "fresh" tomorrow. The good: I got 3 different cronuts (classic, cinnamon and Nutella filled), a ham and cheese croissant, a danish muffin, a breakfast sandwich and a tomato and cream cheese bagel for Father's Day breakfast. I liked the classic cronut a lot as well as the cinnamon one. Their donut box with the plastic window was nice and makes for a nice giftable item or potluck dessert. The bad: The Nutella cronut was a bit over the top and too decadent with the about of Nutella inside. The iced coffee was $8.50 (but it was 20 ounces). They didn't have other sizes at least from Door Dash. The interesting: The coffee tasted like a Vietnamese coffee and was super strong. Drinking half made me feel wired and nauseated. read more

I stopped by Boston cream doughnut because I had a craving. It was my first time there and the lady behind the counter was very friendly and cheerful. I got a variety of donuts to share with friends, but I came to get the cronut. It was very fluffy and I love the dusting of cinnamon. Overall, pretty standard for donuts, but that's not a bad thing. There's really only so much you can do with a doughnut, and as long as it's not stale, or has funky texture, then a variety of flavors are all you really need. I went to pick up an order I reserved from the "Too Good To Go app". At first the employee seemed really confused I kept showing her my reservation code and everything. She asked her coworker for help then she understood what I was picking up. So then she went to this room to grab some donuts and I had no idea if these were stored in a refrigerator or not. I then look at the box to see a squashed baby roach on it. This one lady was also very rude to my mom. She had used the app too and she had reserved the pickup the night before coming to the place. Donuts are always fresh when I buy them. Taste is 4 stars. Customer service is trash!! I just left from buying powerball tickets and started to walk out. The lady at the counter was SUPER rude!! My sister told her TWICE she was shortchanged money after winning on lottery tickets. The lady insisted her amount was correct until my sister showed her. She gave no apology, showed no accountability, nothing. Then put the money on the counter. I bought tickets and asked for a half dozen donut holes. The lady gave me the price for a dozen instead. I repeated myself several times before she snatched the card reader and told me the CORRECT price + a $0.65 machine charge. I was out of cash after buying powerball tickets and said hell no to the fee since my donuts were only $1.50. Luckily my sister had cash and paid. Customer service goes a long way!! People kill me how set up shop in an urban neighborhood then treat customers like *ish. I will think twice before giving my hard earned dollar to these people again. read more

The best donuts! These donuts melt in your mouth and explode with goodness. They have a few vegan donuts and serve hot and cold sandwiches. The way they grill in here it had me thinking I should get a sandwich instead of donuts. So of course while I'm waiting, there were two people ahead of me, I decided I will get a grilled cheese sandwich. I ordered a cronut and a grilled cheese sandwich. Inside the car, I checked out my sandwich bc this is my breakfast enroute to work, and oh wow the cheese had not meltedI forgot to take a picture of it bc I was driving and was doing enough already behind the wheel of a moving car. It was like a warm cheese sandwich so I wrapped it up tightly put it back in the bag and hoped that the heat will continue to penetrate the cheese. I still had to nuke it a bit it but it worked out. Really bad experience. Went out of the way to stop by and pick up a surprise box from "TooGoodToGo" for the first time since the concept sounded amazing. It was for 3.99 and about 30 minutes out from where we were...but figured it would be easy (since it's just day old donuts tossed into a box from the previous day). The app is really good...easy to pay and clear directions. When you get to the store, you indicate it on the app. It immediately caused a loud chime to ring in the back. It was really busy at the store...so the front counter person was not happy having to take care of it. I figured they would yell out who it was for, and I would be on my way. No...she just turned it off and ignored it it. So I waited in line for my turn. When it was mine, I showed the order screen. She scowled but went to back. Then came back and said, "next". I asked where my order was. She said "wait your turn...we are making bagels now". ? I got angry and left. I don't think the workers understood the concept of having the box ready. Didn't pick up the food for I foresaw a long complicated argument, not worth it for 3.99. For the owner of this location, get your act together...if you participate in something, make sure the staff understands the concept. It doesn't sound like they did. read more

This is a place I have visited before and really enjoyed there donuts. This past Saturday morning I decided to get some donuts for my coworkers. I was just about to pick out my donuts and what do I see bugs inside the case. That was so disgusting that I immediately left and told the shop worker. I did order a breakfast sandwich for my coworker before I realized this horrible situation. This is a place my coworkers and I order from regularly. The worker was upset with me for not paying for the sandwich they had already made. For me personally I am not going to eat from place that has bugs. I used to be a regular customer until one day, a new cashier overcharged me. When I got home, I counted my change and knew something was wrong. When I called, I found out that the woman they were training on the register charged me for a sandwich that I didn't order. They told me to come back for my refund, which I did, but when I got there, one of the owners (the woman) chastised me for not noticing that I was overcharged before I left them the first time. I didn't appreciate her attitude at all. And to think that I had left a tip for them on that purchase too! I wasn't even offered a free donut hole for my troubles. I came here because they open really early and the chain donut shops around were closed until after 5... dumb move in my opinion. I'm glad I did end up though. The donuts were being freshly made and they had a pretty good selection for that time in the morning. The lady helping me was super nice and had great customer service skills. As someone walked in, she would say good morning. Always nice to be greeted when walking into an establishment. When I got to work, I grabbed a donut and man!! Those are some soft and fresh donuts!! They are light and fluffy and really delightful. The donuts aren't too sweet either, so that's a plus. They have other items as well from your typical ham and cheese croissants, to your breakfast sandwiches made with a different variety of breads, including croissants. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR THE FANCY DONUTS IN THE PICTURES, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! My daughter had a medical appointment in Carson and I had just received a Yelp pop up recommendation for Boston Cream so I figured it was a good opportunity to have her stop there to buy donuts. If you look at the pictures of their donuts, you see all these really cool ones like fruit loops, galaxy, green tea, s'mores, & others. I know California Donuts by MacArthur Park near downtown LA does stuff like this but never got around to driving out there just for donuts so I thought this was great. My daughter calls me to confirm the name of the shop because she doesn't see ANYTHING like those in the photos. Well it was the right place but somehow "THE WRONG PLACE ". They didn't even have a good selection of regular run of the mill donuts. I had my daughter ask when they have the fancy stuff. The cashier asked a lady in the back and she yells, "We don't do that anymore!". This is akin to ordering a Big Mac from McDonalds and having them yell "We don't serve those anymore!" They had one bacon maple bar and one devil's food with nuts. No crullers. Overpriced tiny apple fritters. Basic glazed and buttermilk donuts. WOW, WHAT A LETDOWN!! They did have glazed cronuts but no fancy filled ones. I told my daughter to just get 4 cronuts and some other stuff to salvage the wasted trip If your response is "We don't do that anymore.", mine is, "We'll never come back anymore". That drive to California Donuts in Los Angeles or even out to Donut Man in Azusa is looking better every second. Avoid this place like a Super Spreader gathering. I am writing another review instead of an update as it seems my last review was in 2015. We have been to BCD many times since then. Not so much in 2020 because of the pandemic. We went today and last Thursday before a walk to give us strength. While there is a huge variety, my favorites are the maple bar, chocolate bar and chocolate chocolate cake. I live in Hawaii and wanted to send letter donuts as a "monthaversary" gift for my best friends wedding Anni and Boston Cream Donut came to the rescue! Communicating with Mei-ling through the phone was quick and easy! She made so many accommodations and was able to customize my order to perfection! She even went as far as to hand delivering the box and included an attached message too! I imagined it to be expensive considering all my customization, however donuts + delivery charge was so reasonable! I am appreciative of her help and kindness to go above and beyond for my order! Mei-ling puts a lot of love in her work and it shows. My friend received the box and was sooo happy!
